In the middle of the city ruins Erebus could be seen lying down over a large amount of debris, soon enough his body began shifting until he slowly began opening his eyes. Which he immediately regretted it as the sunlight rapidly blinded his vision, instinctively Erebus squinted his eyes as he brought his arm to cover his face, hoping to block any possible sunlight to harm his eyesight. After some moments he finally decided to get up by pushing himself off the ground, but what he didn't anticipate was for his body to suddenly collapse halfway making him fall down on his face. A painful sensation soon began spreading through his whole body which made him groan in pain, Erebus clenched his teeth as he tried once again to get up which he successfully managed. His silvery eyes were staring at the scenery around him, everything looked destroyed or damaged in some way. Some buildings were barely intact while other were completely annihilated which made him wonder who could have possibly be responsible of these damages, after taking a good look at his surroundings Erebus could feel that he was missing something important.

'My swords...'

Erebus looked all around him hoping to find his weapons which at first weren't anywhere nearby, after some minutes of searching he finally found both of them beneath some debris. After putting away both swords Erebus carefully dropped down from the debris and tried to remember what happened before waking up, his head began to hurt as he tried to recall the memories of what had occurred before he woke up. The image of 2B along with her two companions came back at him, he remembered almost killing her before the black haired kid intervened and fired at him with his flying box. Whatever else happened after was a complete mystery to him, Erebus clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white as he realised that these two Yorha soldiers had managed to injure him hard enough for him to forget what happened next. The anger in his eyes would've made anyone cowered in fear upon seeing him in his current state, however he knew that being enraged right now wouldn't lead to anything but one thing was for certain it was that he would take his revenge on them the next time their paths crossed. Taking a deep breath Erebus began walking towards the end of the road and turned around, he looked towards the horizon hoping to know where he currently was but was only met by the sight of a massive amount of machines roaming around at every corner of the streets, he didn't understand why there was so many of them gathered here but as much as he wanted fight them all his body still hadn't fully recovered.

All of these pointless encounters with these Yorha soldiers made him lose sight of his primary objective was since he had awoken from his pod, to find the twins that had taken care of him however he still hasn't found any clues on where to even begin searching for them. Erebus frowned as he recalled the so called resistance camp that most of these androids kept repeating through every battle they had, he didn't know what to make of it however they was a chance for it to be some sort of civilisation which would be ideal for him since there could some merchants selling supplies or even more if he was lucky. Not to forget the fact he could gain some valuable information on what was going on in these lands, Erebus turned his head and saw his reflection through a shattered window. After some moments of inspecting himself he pulled his hood out from behind his cape and put it on as it covered most of his face along with his hair, the only visible part of his face was his eyes and his nose.

Satisfied with his appearance Erebus began walking in the opposite direction of the machine horde hoping to avoid them until he was far away from them and continued walking towards his destination, but stopped as began thinking of what would happen if he was to encounter more Yorha soldiers once he arrived at the resistance camp. What if they were waiting for him to arrive over there? What if this was all just a elaborate trap? Erebus knew he was putting himself in danger by going at the resistance camp however his options were limited, he couldn't keep to just roaming around aimlessly hoping for a miracle to happen. This camp was the closest thing to a civilisation that he currently was aware of which meant he couldn't afford to let this opportunity to slip between his hands, and if something would to happen he could always tried to escape as he had done previously even if it bruised his pride. It was in these moments in life that he learned to put his pride aside that do whatever it takes to stay alive even in the most shameful way, which meant that if he had to kept hiding from the Yorha army then so be it.

He had a goal to accomplish and he would be damned to let anyone get in his way, if someone turned out to come off as a threat then his sword would be able to take care of it. Nobody could capture him, absolutely nobody. He would rather die than to be held captive like a wild animal, Shaking his head Erebus took a deep breath before resuming his walk towards the resistance camp.

Inside the most spacious room within the bunker, the commander white was sitting at her desk while having a hard time hearing the recent reports that came through. Her elbows were resting on the desk as her face was buried in her hands, the recent mission has ended in failure since still weren't able to collect any viable datas on the enemy while the machines life form kept increasing in numbers. And not to forget that most of the squadrons she had deployed on earth were forced to retreat due to them being overwhelmed by the invasion of machines inside the city ruins, she didn't understand why most of the Yorha missions ended in failure since most of time they were a step ahead but it would seemed like it didn't matter at all. Whatever effort they made always ended to be pointless in some way, the mission failure didn't only affect Yorha but it also affected her competence as a leader which only proved that once again she wasn't the best suited to be the leader of Yorha. Commander white let out a frustrated sigh escaping her lips as she heard someone knocking on her door.

''Come in.'' Commander white curtly said as she didn't even bother to look up.

''I'm sorry to disturb you commander.'' The white haired android said as she entered the room and closed the door behind her. ''But I've been told that my presence was required here.''

After some moments of silence Commander white dropped her hands from her face which allowed her green eyes to look at 2B with impatience, ''What happened with Erebus? Did you kill him?''

2B eyes shifting from her leader piercing gaze towards the floor before answering her questions. ''No we-i wasn't able to kill him, in fact he's the one who almost killed me...once again.''

''It still doesn't answer my question of what happened to him after.''

''He was crushed beneath debris of a collapsed building, But there's a good chance he could've survived.'' 2B answered the blonde haired leader while still being unable to meet her gaze. ''Look commander i know i've failed you but please allow me to go back on earth along with a battle unit squad to hunt him down and-''

''No, forget about it.'' Commander white sternly said.

''But comm-''

''I told you NO! Damn it!'' Commander shouted as she fully stood up from her chair and furiously slammed her fist on her desk. Her sudden outburst caused 2B to fearfully cower against the door as her body went rigid.

After some moments of silence Commander White eyes immediately widened after she realised what had just happened. She felt disgusted by herself and opened her mouth to explain herself. ''I'm sorry, i-i don't know what took over me...Please forgive me 2B.''

2B blinked upon hearing what her leader had said before slowly walking towards her desk, the commander white lowered her head as wasn't able to look at her in the eyes however 2B could still see the regret and sadness all over her face. 2B knew the commander was beyond stressed for the past month which is why she always volunteered to help her as much as she could. ''You don't have to apologise commander, I understand how stressful this whole situation is for you. I, myself wouldn't be able to handle these situations any better than you did.''

After listening to what 2B said, the commander white promptly lifted her face to look at her most trusted soldier while wondering if she meant every word of what she said. But to the commander white surprise she saw the sincerity behind 2B's eyes which caused a bitter laugh to escape her lips.

''You've always been so understanding of my situation. And how do I repay you? By taking out my frustration on you.'' The blonde haired leader sorrowfully said before looking down at her desk. ''I am truly a disgrace of a leader aren't i?''

2B opened her mouth to say anything that could comfort her leader however no words came out, even if she wanted to tell that her commander was a competent leader it wouldn't be enough to make her feel better about herself. Instead 2B chooses to close her mouth and lower her head towards the ground, after some moments of silence the commander white took a deep breath and walked across the room and opened the door. This made 2B look at commander white with confusion before she understood that she needed some time to herself. Wanted to let her leader clear her mind, 2B walked up to the door and looked at the blonde haired woman before exiting.

''Glory to mankind.'' 2B proudly said however she was only met by a nod along with the same sorrowfully expression from earlier, taking the hint 2B exited the room but not without sparing one last worried glance before continuing down the hallway.

After 2B's departure the Commander white began moving towards her bed and sat down at the edge of it while staring at her hands, her green eyes were filled with guilt and sadness from her recent outburst. The conversation she had with Anemone a week ago suddenly came back to inside her mind, even if she didn't want to admit it Anemone was right about her. That she wasn't a good person, just how many androids had she left to their own fate despite having the power to save them? She vividly remembered the days when she used to serve the resistance camp on earth, it used to be horrible. Many people used to go out on the front line and fight not only for their lives but also for the humans that were supposed to be alive, she will always remember the day discovering that humanity was already extinct way longer before the aliens invaded the earth. The sadness and hopelessness she felt after knowing the truth drove her half insane at the time, but her promotion as the leader of Yorha somewhat helped her to overcome these feelings.

Having enough of remembering these suppressed memories, the commander white fully laid down on her bed as she tried to think of something else however it wasn't really working as her bright green eyes kept staring at the ceiling. It has been a while since she had the opportunity to rest, as the leader of Yorha she didn't have the time to take break which didn't really bother her most of the time but always having to work could be exhausting for her artificial brain. She wondered if humans used to also work long hours to the point where they neglected their rest hours, but she couldn't afford to rest as she constantly had to keep planning their next move against the machines life forms because if she didn't then they would be defeated in a matter of no time. Not that it would change their inevitable fate however if she could at least delay it as much as she could then it was worth trying, after some minutes of reflection on herself the commander white tried to find a suitable position to sleep until she was satisfied and closed her eyes while hoping to be able to rest as much as she could before having to attend to her usual duties.

Erebus was currently taking a deserved break by sitting against a wall, his sore body was feeling quite exhausted from walking long distance for hours while occasionally having to dispose of the few machines that he encountered. Trying to find the resistance camp revealed to be more difficult than he anticipated, maybe it was because he didn't have a single clues on where to exactly search for it but at the same time any sort of civilisation or village in these deserted lands would fairly be easy to locate.

Erebus deeply exhaled before pulling out his smaller sword and began sharpening it with a stone besides him, everything around him was quiet until a sudden movement ahead of him caught his attention. Erebus snapped his head towards the bushes as it kept repeatedly moving, he rapidly got up as his grey eyes were intensely fixated on the bushes while awaiting for whatever was hiding behind it to come out. But his body immediately relaxed as he saw a moose coming out from the bushes and slowly walked towards him, Erebus raised a eyebrow in confusion as he wondered why would a animal suddenly approach him. Not that he minded since it was a welcoming change from these androids and machines that were infesting the roads, as they both were staring at each other's he took notice of the white fur that covered his body which was quite unusual due to the majority of its species having a brown fur.

Erebus saw the moose walking closer to him until its snout was inches away from his chest, instinctively he lifted his hand and brought it close to the moose snout while wanted to show no aggressive behaviour towards the moose which surprisingly seemed going rather well as the moose began sniffing his hand before licking it. Erebus expressions slowly began relaxing as he started rubbing the moose's head.

''I suppose you wouldn't know about any villages or resistance camps nearby, would you?'' Erebus jokingly asked the moose as he obviously wasn't expecting any sort of response coming from an animal. After some time Erebus stopped petting the moose and stretched his body. ''I'm afraid this is where we part ways.''

Erebus began walking away from the wild animal and resumed his journey towards his destination until the moose walked past him and blocked his path, Erebus couldn't help but to raise an eyebrow as he wondered what could this animal possibly want for him. But just as he was about to open his mouth, the moose did something unexpected by lowering itself. It was almost if it wanted to show him something which made Erebus even more confused as he wondered what could a moose possibly show him.

''You do wish to show me something? Or perhaps you want to take me somewhere?'' Erebus asked with hesitation in his voice, the moose responded by coming closer to him.

Erebus complied to his request and climbed on top of the moose while making sure his swords didn't get in the way, after he comfortably positioned himself the moose began to take off towards the north of the city ruins. Erebus didn't know what to expect when he accepted the animal request however this moose may belong to someone which would be ideal for him since it would mean that there could a village nearby.

'He's moving towards the same direction as I intended to go...' Erebus suspiciously thought.

As they kept going further Erebus could see his surroundings was beginning to change, there were less building and more vegetation which covered most of the few buildings they had passed by. The sound of birds was quite peaceful for Erebus, it made him feel as if there wasn't a single thing worth worrying about. However he knew better than to ever let his guard down, especially when things were quiet. And his suspicion proved to be correct when a small machine came blocking their paths, the moose began to back away in fear however Erebus noticed this and got off the moose. The machine charged at them but didn't have the chance to react as Erebus sliced the machine's head in half before putting away his sword, after some moments of staring at the remaining of the machine he walked back towards the moose and mounted it and soon began making their way ahead of them.

Erebus was feeling quite frustrated from having nothing better to do except observing his surroundings for any potential enemies getting in their way. He sincerely hoped for the moose it knew where his destination was or else this whole travel would have turned to be pointless, the boredom in Erebus eyes were visible as he wondered how much further would they have to keep travelling until more machines got in their paths. However the moose suddenly stopped moving which made Erebus confused as he tried figuring why weren't they moving anymore, as he got down from the moose Erebus began looking around him and was shocked to see a hill that lead to a narrow pathway between two buildings. The entrance was protected by two giant sized fences, this must've been the place where the moose wanted to take him. But he still wondered if this place was a secluded village or maybe this could be the resistance camp he was been searching for hours, Erebus turned around and saw the white moose looking towards its left. His grey eyes followed where the moose was looking towards and was surprised to see a group of moose near the trees far further from them, Erebus soon began putting the pieces together as he concluded this white moose wanted some help to deal with these machines all along. Erebus shook his head at the realisation that an wild animal wanted his help in order to go back to its pack, it was ridiculous however he didn't regret helping the moose in the slightest as this trip also worked in his favour by bringing him towards a population. However it was now time to say goodbye and not to keep stalling his mission.

''Thank you for bringing me here...friend, take care of yourself.'' Erebus said in a calm tone while petting the moose head which licked his hand once again, Erebus watched the moose turning away from him and made its way towards his pack.

Erebus was lost in his thoughts as he kept staring at the moose for a moment before snapping back to reality and began walking towards the hill until he was in front of it, Erebus quickly jumped on a tree branches and bounced it off from it and landed at the top of the hill and walked inside the narrow pathway. He couldn't believe that he finally managed to found a place with a civilisation after all this time, it almost felt unreal to an extent. As Erebus walked through the pathway he noticed there wasn't much sunlight that penetrated between the buildings as they were all very close to each other's which made this path quite dark to properly see, however it didn't matter since he wouldn't be spending his time inside this alley anyway.

As Erebus was about to turn right, he suddenly began hearing the sound of what resembled to human voices to his left. Curiosity got the better of him as he began taking a turn to his left, Erebus frowned beneath his hood as the voices of whoever it belonged were slowly turning into whimpering and pleading. Once Erebus arrived at the end of the narrow alley, a bleeding woman could be seen laying down on the ground protecting herself from the two other people who were kicking and stomping her without mercy.

''P-please...stop I'm-ARGH'' the bleeding woman was interrupted by a resistance member with stomping her stomach.

''Shut the fuck up! It's your fault that we're in this fucking war!''

''Oh I've got an idea! Why don't we take her back at our resistance camp across the city ruins and teach her a lesson? It's not like anyone is going to mourn her anyways.''

''That's a good idea! Let's go now before anyone catches us.'' The resistance member said as he grabbed the woman by her hair which caused her to cry out in pain, as he was about to slap her across the face a shadow suddenly towered over him which made both of the resistance members turned around.

However both of them were shocked to see a hooded person that was standing right in front of them, they took notice this mysterious person was taller than any of them while most of his face was covered except his nose and his grey eyes. But what made them quite uneasy was the fact this hooded person was coldly staring at them without any emotions visible in his eyes which made them gulp as they look at each other's with uncertainties in their eyes before looking back towards the quiet hooded person.

''Uh...Can we help you?'' The resistance members asked as he was still holding the barely conscious woman by her hair, but he soon regretted his words as the hooded man directed his attention entirely on him.

''Look, I don't know who you are or where you crawled from but I suggest you get out of our sight before things get nasty for you.'' the other resistance members said while pulling out a knife and moved in front of his partner and positioned himself in front of the hooded person while hoping to catch his attention. But to his surprise the mysterious man didn't even bother looking at him which made him quite angry and pushed the tip of his knife against the the hooded person throat, as he was about to pierce his neck a sword suddenly went through his stomach. He looked down in disbelief and saw that it belonged to the man before him, before he could utter another word the hooded man violently pulled his sword out from his stomach which made him fell to the ground and bled out to death.

The remaining resistance member was mortified by what he'd just witnessed, this man had just killed his partner without any mercy. He promptly lifted his head and saw the hooded man was just staring down at him with the same cold expression from earlier, he immediately let go of the woman while fearing for his life and backed away until his back touched the wall. But what made him even more scared then before was the hooded man got rid of the blood of his sword by shaking his arm in a swift motion as some drops of blood splashed against the wall besides him, and made his way towards him.

''Please! I'll leave her to you! You won't ever see me ag-'' his words were cut short by his neck being crushed in the man's grip before being slammed against the wall, he desperately tried to free himself however it was useless as the pressure around his the man's grip was too strong. The last thing he saw was a pair of grey eyes glaring right through him while being suffocated to death.

After killing both resistance members Erebus threw the corpse on the ground and looked besides him, he saw the woman that was being abused looking at him with fright in her eyes. He took notice of the woman features and saw that she had straight crimson hair while having bright green eyes, but what intrigued him was the white flower stuck in her hair. He must've stared at her for quite some time since she began crawling away from him fearing for her life.

''Who..are...you?'' The crimson haired woman weakly asked as blood dripped down from her face, she desperately hoped that whoever this person wasn't here to harm her even further. It was hard for her to remain calm as he still hasn't spoken a word since he came, the only thing that her ears was able to hear was his breathing which made her anxious. But what truly petrified her was his silver eyes were coldly glaring at her which caused her to quiver in fear. She didn't know what exactly he was planning to do with her but whatever it would be she wouldn't have the strength to resist him, since she was barely able to remain conscious from all the hits that her body suffered for the past hour.

Erebus didn't even know why he bothered helping this helpless woman, why couldn't she have suffered in silence? This would have prevented him to come here for nothing, however there wasn't any point for him to waste his time with her.

Her eyes were filled with panic as she saw him approaching, instinctively she brought her frail arms to defend herself and awaited for more hits to come. But to her surprise nothing came which caused her to drop her arms and looked at him walking past by her bruised body without sparing a glance towards her or even saying a word, a burst of relief took over her whole body as he decided to spare her life. She picked herself up and leaned against a wall before calling out her saviour.

''T-thank you for helping me! If it wasn't for you I woul-'' she didn't have time to properly thank her saviour as he already had disappeared behind a wall. She would always remember the moment someone had willingly defended her despite her reputation, which made feel something that she would've never thought to experience.

Appreciation.

Erebus kept walking towards where he originally attended to go until he reached the same alley he came from and this time took a turn to his left, once again the sound of people talking could be heard at the end of the alley. However this time there was multiple voices and even more as he kept walking towards the end of the alley, he couldn't believe that finally managed to find a population since he had awaken from his slumber. Erebus felt that he was making progress for the first time which made him quite satisfied however now was the time to finally see what lies behind the wall, taking a deep breath Erebus walked past the wall and his eyes widened at the scenery before him.

His grey eyes were looking in disbelief as he saw what looked like a secluded area with many people talking together, there were some groups of people that were conversing with each other's while some even laughed. Erebus calculated there must've been around one hundred of them but what surprise him the most was they were wearing the resistance camp uniform while some others belonged to the Yorha army which made him feel quite anxious. Both parties seemed to have no problem talking to each other's, Erebus wasn't sure if it would be wise of him to infiltrate this place however he's been looking forward for this exact moment. It was already far too late to retreat anyway, besides as long as he kept covering his face nobody would be able to recognise him. The only thing he needed to do was keeping a low profile until he gathered enough information, but that wouldn't be easy and especially with the few amount of Yorha soldiers that were present. Shaking his head Erebus began walking until he entered the resistance camp but not without feeling many pairs of eyes that were focused on him as everything around him went quiet.
