I woke up to the sight of white.

Everything, just bright white in this void.

And surprisingly, my eyes weren't in pain from staring at the light all this time. Not even a blink or wince. Something is definitely up.

"Where am I?"

Was the first question that came to mind. I racked my brain trying to figure out what I was doing before ending up here. Before waking up, I was— . . . I—

. . .

. . .

. . .

I was... What was I doing?

. . .

I can't remember... Nothing comes to mind. In fact, I can't even recall who I am!

'What's going on!?'

Did I die? Is this Heaven? Purgatory? Hell? If so then the afterlife is pretty dull. No angels demons, paradise, or eternal suffering, just pure blank nothing. Die in life just so you can die of boredom afterwards. How fun... Can't even remember why I ended up here.

I sit up, a hand on my head, looking around this flat land. No color. No sound. No smell. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. The only thing I see is me, myself and I. Nothing else in sigh—

Wait a minute...

Is that something over there? It looks like a black smudge in the distance.

How did I not see that earlier? Should I go check it out? I probably should. It might just be a trick on my eyes, but there's nothing else to be done around here, so might as well.

I stood up, and started my trek towards the Dark spot in the distance. Hopefully I'll get some answers when I'm there...

And answers I did receive.

Upon getting close to the smudge, it turns out it wasn't just some hallucination after all. It seemed to be a person, except he looks like a silhouette. A being shrouded in shadows, the light seemingly incapable of reaching him. I can't seem to make any features on this guy. He's just laying there on his right side, with his hand propping up his head, back turned to me.

*ZZzzzz...ZZZzzZz...*

. . .Are you serious? Sleeping in a place like this? What's up with this dude? Then again, dreaming is probably better than sitting around in this void and doing absolutely nothing. Can you even dream in the afterlife? Should I wake him up? What if he's some sort of shadow-demon-monster-thing that consumes me? Should I take the risk?

. . .

. . .

. . .

Ah, screw it. Not much else to lose when you're dead.

I nudged him with my foot, trying to wake him up. Hopefully I don't regret this

*Shake* *Shake*

"Zzz–Hmmh...? Huh...? Wha...?" The shadowy figure slowly rubs his eyes as I disturbed him from his slumber. The action seemed to have work as he stirred awake.

"Hellooo? Wakey-wakey~! Sorry for waking you up, but I need some answers and it seems you're the only one around that can give them to me. You're not gonna kill me are you? I mean, I'm pretty sure I'm already dead."

The figure slowly stood up with a groan, and turned around, hand rubbing the back of his neck. Half-lidded glowing yellow eyes looked up and down at me.

"Oh yeah... It's you. So you're finally awake now I see." ...Shouldn't I have said that? You're the one that just woke up... "Now that you're up, we can get this reincarnation thing over with already." He says as he sluggishly swipes in a blue screen from out of nowhere. It was filled with tons of information I couldn't understand, the speed of the text moving in there is crazy! How do you even read that that thing?

But Reincarnation? Seriously? It's real!? Hold up, do I get to keep my memories? I may not remember anything about myself, but I'm definitely not a child. My current knowledge isn't something a kid should know about yet, I'm sure of it...or at least I think so. On another note, there's one thing that's been bugging me.

"Are you God?" I asked. I had to know. Was this the guy that a bunch of people are praying to? 'Cause if so, I'm not impressed. He seems so lazy and lethargic. I just can't see this guy being responsible and handing out blessings. He seems like the kind of guy who'd forget about an important school project, and just sleep through the entire day.

"I guess you could say that..." He says nonchalantly whilst tapping at the screen, seemingly opening something up.

"Do you think you can tell me what's going on? Am I really dead? If so, how'd I die? And also, who am I? I can't remember much about myself after waking up here. And do I get to keep my memories?" I continue to question.

"Please save your questions until after I'm finished with this. I'll read over your details for reincarnation, including what happened to you and what to expect, so make sure you pay attention." He rolled his eyes he said that...

*Tap*

"'Congratulations, you've died.' Hip-hip-hooray." In a monotone voice, the shady God began reading out loud the message from the blue holographic screen. "'Cause of death by–' Wow, that is embarrassing, hehe, how dumb...*Ahem* 'You have been selected for reincarnation. Upon entering your new life you will receive a power granted by us'—yadda yadda yadda—'in which you will participate in a dangerous new world experiment'—blah blah blah—'this world is'–don't care–'so don't die early again. Idiot.' Got that in your tiny head? Better hope so, cause I'm not reading it again."

. . . . .What?

That barely explained anything!

'You died, so you're going to a new world with powers. Don't die again.' Was all I understood from that message.

What kind of half-assed explanation was that!? Who the hell skips over details of someone's reincarnation!? He didn't answer most of my questions, and hasn't told me anything about this new world I'm going to besides it being dangerous! And making fun of my death!? Do I even wanna remember what happened to me before I died? He chuckled at it! No chance it was a good death! ...There's no way this person is God! It must be a lie! Right!? Righteous, Good and Compassionate my ass! This guy's a total Jerk!

"Wait a minute! You didn't explain anything! All you said was that I'm going to a new world and getting powers! Not gonna tell me what this new world is about? Or even inform me what my ability is? Just a 'good luck and don't die'? What the hell man!"

"That seems like a you problem. I've relayed to you your previous life's information and what to expect in your next life. Your fault for not listening, you should have paid more attention." He says whilst sticking his pinky finger in his ear.

One of my eyes twitches at his words, and I am left speechless.

This guy...

You've gotta be kidding me! I want a refund! No way am I gonna be sent to a world of his choosing! He seems like he'd just chuck me into a volcano and be done with it! Any world this guy picks is sure to be a death trap just from his callous indifference. He probably wouldn't care if I dropped dead as baby! I'm supposed to entrust my next life to him!?

"Now wait just a minu—""No. I'd rather we get this over with quickly. I'm sure you'll figure things out on your own. If not, then sucks to suck. Too bad for your second life." He interrupted me, tapping away at the screen again. Colorful wisps of radiant light begin to hover around us.

*Tap* *Tap*

"System has been placed. Connection to worlds have been established. Family has been created. Appearance... just reuse and modify something easy, can't bother creating an original look."

*Tap* *Tap* *Tap*

. . .

. . .

"And now... initiali–"

「WARNING」

The System is still setting up.

Initializing Reincarnation process now will cause『ERRORS』within the System.

Subject is at risk of experiencing Temporal Soul Displacement.

Do you wish to continue?

[Yes] [No]

That does not sound good at all. What the hell does 'Temporal Soul Displacement' mean? Will that kill me? This guy can't be that careless can he? He couldn't possibly be thinking of finishing with errors when all he has to do is just wait a little bit longer for it to fix itself, right?

*Tap*

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

. . .

The God's finger now rested on the [Yes] button. Not showing the slightest hint of hesitation.

. . .

. . .

. . .

I stared at him in absolute shock, jaw dropped, eyes wide open. A myriad of colorful wisps begin to surround and cover me, forming a circular space. I feel myself become lighter and get lifted off the ground.

「Initializing Reincarnation Process」

5...

4...

He looked up at me, his yellow eyes seemingly amused at what was happening. He wasn't sorry for what he did. He didn't care if he rushed the process. He didn't care that he was being lazy and irresponsible. He just wanted me gone.

And taking pleasure at my expense, the bastard.

3...

I quickly became angry, flailing around in the air, twisting and turning, struggling against the light that was pulling me away. It was all pointless though, as I stared at him with a loathful expression.

"You...!"

2...

"I do hope you enjoy your new life. Your idiocy will compliment that world well, as some would call it quite...eccentric. Please do try to make some friends. You'll definitely need them." He waves his hand at me–Is that a fucking grin!?

1...

The bastard's mocking me! I won't forget this for as long as I live!

"Sonnuva...!"

「Commencing Reincarnation」

I get lifted even higher and faster into the air. The world around became a blur as flashing rainbows of light dragged me away at light speed into the "sky".

"BIIIIIIiiiii..."

As I zipped away in this rainbow-like warp tunnel into what seemed to be space, my mind was filled with nonsensical yet familiar visions that came to me...

("Who knows? It could be an axe, or perhaps a spear. No. Perhaps it could be a bow too, Lancer.")

(–"Cause that's what makes the Fairy Tail Guild Number One!")

("To think that I must go all-out against the likes of you!")

I'm sure I recognize these scenes. But I couldn't ponder on them for too long as I felt myself slowly losing consciousness.

("Open, Gate of the Water Bearer! Aquarius!")

("I am the bone of my sword...")

(–"Messing with Fairy Tail is the biggest mistake you've ever made!")

("I ask of you. Are you my Master?")

And so, everything went black...

*Twinkle*

.

.

.

The Dreamer looked up at where the young man had disappeared to, skies now shimmering with a wide variety of colors spread throughout. New Stars twisting and turning. An aurora of a new world has just been made from the elements of two trees. The Reincarnation has been achieved. And the new world that will be born from the shockwaves that young man brings, whether it deviates from its original path or not, good or bad, it does not matter, he shall watch all the same.

He laid back down and closed his eyes.

'Will it become a beautiful sapling and grow into a magnificent tree? Or will it stagnate into another withered and dead root? Only time would truly tell, and I have all the time in the world...' He thinks to himself as he relaxed.

Author's Note

Decided to try something new, so I wrote up this mess of a first story. Just kinda made this up for fun. Posting the first three chapters to get this little Training Arc/Time Skip/Beginning/Whatever this is over with and see how this is received.

The story will take place on Earthland following Fairy Tail canon, with Servants being summoned by the reincarnated guy himself, with a Gamer-esque System. I already have thoughts on which servants will be brought in, and I will hopefully try to get characters from both series to interact and mostly stay in character.

Now, I'm not gonna pretend to be an expert on Fairy Tail and Fate ('cause I'm not, quite the opposite in fact). I have limited knowledge on both series, since I stopped watching Fairy Tail during the GMG Arc a long time ago, and practically forgot everything. And Fate being something I haven't delved too deeply in. Most of my knowledge and information in both series will be coming mostly from the wikis or things I already know and searched up. Though I can't guarantee I'll always be correct with info.

And why is an amateur like myself writing this? Well... Why not? Because I felt like it? I enjoy aspects from both series. I decided to give writing a crossover a try and shared it for no other reason than to see what people would think of it.

No promises, but I'm going to try and at least get up to the Lullaby Arc and see how it goes from there. Whether this story is well received or not will decide if I should continue or stop. Wouldn't want to continue writing a dumpster fire after all.

Well...see you in the next chapter I guess.

Also, this story is not staying in first person for long.
