(Hargeon Town)

In the Southern land of Fiore lies the old port town of Hargeon. A place that is more renowned and prosperous for fishing rather than magic. The people go by their day to day lives peacefully, no incidents having occurred in quite a long while. In one area of Hargeon sits the only Magic Shop in town; the shop that currently houses a certain Celestial Spirit Mage as a customer.

"What!? You mean to tell me that this is the only Magic Shop in town?"

A voluptuous young girl stood in front of the counter with her hands on the desk. She had shoulder length blonde hair tied in a ponytail with a blue ribbon on the right side of her head. She wore a sleeveless white shirt with blue rimmings and a blue cross design in front; intersecting at her chest, and a blue skirt with a brown belt over it. The belt held a key ring and a black whip, the ring holding six keys; three gold and three silver.

"'Fraid so. Most of the people here are fishing folk. In fact, less than ten percent of the people here can even use magic. This shop's usually meant for traveling Wizards." The shopkeeper replied.

Lucy, exasperated at the reveal, turned away and sighed. "Aw man, looks like I came all the way here for nothing..." she lamented.

The shop was filled with several magical items; Magic swords, Magic staves, Magic potions, heck, even a Magic flying broom. Though, none of these would be of any use to her. She went over to look at the display cases, checking to see if there were any items of interest as the shopkeeper showed off a ColorS tool.

"What I'm looking for are some powerful Gate keys." She stated.

The shopkeeper looked to her, "Gate keys, huh? That's a rare request."

She got around to the right side of the display cases, noticing several silver keys placed in there. Her eyes locked on to the key with the Canis Minor crest.

"It's the little white doggy!" She exclaimed excitedly. It's one of the keys she hasn't acquired yet.

The shopkeeper looked to her in confusion. "Hm? That one's not very powerful you know...?"

Lucy laid a palm on her cheek, a slight blush forming on her cheeks. "I know...but I've been looking for it so I really really want it." She turned to the shopkeeper, "So how much is it?"

"Twenty-thousand Jewels."

. . .

. . .

"I'm sorry, how much was that again?" She asked with a slight shadow on her face.

"I said twenty-thousand Jewels." The shopkeeper repeated, not backing down.

'Twenty-thousand Jewels!? That much for a key that can't even fight? That's totally going to cut into my savings! Is this old man trying to rip me off!? Fine...looks like I'll have to pull out my trump card!'

Lucy sat upon the countertop, her skirt slightly lifting as she showed off her thighs and legs, her hand behind her head as she stretched out her chest; her cleavage being slightly revealed, showing off her body, her face sparkling. "Aww, come on. Tell me how much it's really worth. Surely you can cut me a deal?" She winked.

*Jingle*

The door to the shop opened and chimed as a person came in. At the door was a young man with short and wild blonde hair; bangs split in the middle, and two short wide tendrils of hair on the side of his head. He wore a red jacket with a white undershirt and black rimmings at the neck, jeans with a brown belt for his lower body. His hands had a pair of simple black gloves on, both holding the door open. His amethyst purple eyes had spotted her, still sitting on the table.

She froze. She wasn't expecting someone else to come in since the shopkeeper had said that this place was meant for traveling Wizards, meaning that there wouldn't be many customers. Now she's been caught red handed; showing off her body to an old geezer. Her life was ruined! Her dignity was at an end! It's all over! She began to cry inside, cursing her luck. Why did someone have to come in now of all times?

The blonde boy blinked before finally speaking, "I'm not interrupting something, am I?" he gave a wry smile.

She slowly got off the table, sliding down onto the floor, her hands and knees to her chest as a comical amount of tears poured down her cheeks, "No...just the end of my life and dignity is all..." she pouted.

"Mister Alerion! Here for your Sorcerer Weekly I presume?" The shopkeeper greeted him.

He grabbed a magazine from the rack near the door as he came over to the counter. "Yep. You know me... Gotta stay in touch with the latest news." He looked to her after placing the magazine on the counter. "You alright there? I know the floor may seem comfy, but trust me, it's not." He joked.

"Oh, the floor's real comfy right now pal. Especially after what you just saw..." She wasn't in the mood for jokes right now. She looked incredibly hollow, all color currently gone.

"Haha...eh..." The young man had a nervous smile as he sweatdropped. "How 'bout I make it up to you? You were probably trying to buy something, right? I'll pay for it." He offered.

She turned her head up to him, surprised that he'd do such a thing. Really? She was trying to get the shopkeeper to lower the price using her feminine wiles, but it turns out she'd be getting it for free instead! Maybe it wasn't all so pointless.

"You sure?" She stood up, "It's twenty-thousand Jewels y'know. You don't just have that kind of cash easily lying around." she warned him. "O-Oh, but it's totally fine with me if you're okay with paying for it!" She hoped he wouldn't back out of his offer.

"Yikes. That much?" He flinched. "It's fine, I'll still pay for it. Something tells that this'll be my last purchase here anyway. I think I'll be moving pretty soon." He pulled out twenty-thousand Jewels worth of notes, adding another five-hundred Jewels for his own magazine.

The shopkeeper tucked the Jewels nice and safely into the cash register. He then went over to the display cases and took out the silver Gate key, bringing it to the counter. "Here you go. One Sorcerer Weekly Magazine, and a Canis Minor Gate Key." He said as he passed the items to the young man.

The boy took both items and handed the key over to her. She quickly swiped it, holding it up into the air and beamed.

She just got a Gate key for free! How lucky!

"Thanks! I appreciate it! I promise I'll make it up to you!" She turned back to him with a smile. "How about a meal? I'll treat you to a restaurant as thanks. It's the least I could do for your help." She offered.

"Huh?" It seems he wasn't expecting any compensation. "Ah-No thanks. I already ate earlier today. Appreciate the offer though." He politely rejected her offer and began making his way to the door.

"Hold on just a second!" She followed after him. He just paid twenty-thousand Jewels for her! She promised that she'd pay him back, and she's a lady of her word!

The two exited the shop, entering the streets of Hargeon. She soon caught up with him and began walking down the street together.

"Hey! I can't just let you leave empty-handed! You spent twenty-thousand Jewels for me after all. It'd be rude of me not to pay you back." She said with her hands on her hips.

He continued walking as he looked to her. "Uh...No, it's fine. You're new around here right? It's just something I do for travelers who are just passing by in that store. A little souvenir from Hargeon, y'know? No need to thank me."

He does this for everyone passing by? Is he rich or does he just like wasting money? Seems like a nice thing to do, but doesn't really seem all that great in the long run. He could just be a nice guy though.

"Well, I appreciate the gift, but I don't think leaving you alone twenty-thousand Jewels down would sit right with me." She insisted.

He rubbed the back of his head, "Uhh... Well then, how abou–"

"AAAAAHHH~!!!"

"Are you serious? He's really here?"

"It's THE Salamander!"

A group of girls had ran ahead of them, joining a growing crowd of women in the middle of the road, seemingly surrounding a famous celebrity.

"Salamander?" It took her a second to recognize the name before she clapped her hands together gasping, and let an excited smile out. "Isn't he the Wizard who uses fire magic that isn't available in stores!? He's in this town?"

She quickly went to go join the crowd, wanting to see the famous Salamander herself. After squeezing through a couple girls, she was able to get a good look at the man who was surrounded by the growing army of women.

A relatively tall and slim man with mildly short, dark blue spiky hair jutting outwards, with a long fringe left hanging over the upper left part of his face. His face was mildly rectangular, having sharp features, the most prominent feature being the tattoo that's above his right eyebrow. He was currently posing and flashing smiles to the many girls who surrounded him.

"He's so dreamy~!"

"And so hot!"

Her heart began beating out of her chest, her face beginning to flush and melt upon seeing the man, heart shaped pupils beginning to form in her eyes. She didn't know why she was feeling like this. Maybe he's the one? Her prince charming? Her one true beloved? She began walking in a daze towards him, her emotions taking complete control over her. But before she could fully join the crowd she was pulled back...

*Bop* "Ow!"

"Get yourself together."

And was lightly chopped on the head, snapping her out of her daze. She looked up to see that nice guy from earlier.

He had pulled her back from joining the rest of the girls and chopped her on the head to snap her out of her daze. He looked towards the Salamander, "Take a look at his fingers. Notice anything strange?" he told her.

"Huh?" She looked back towards Salamander and gazed at his hand, her eyes focusing on the charm ring that was situated on his index finger.

She had been charmed! She can't believe it! And to think she had been snapped out of it by the person she already owed a favor to! This is so embarrassing! She flushed in anger and embarrassment as voices in the crowd went off.

"Please take me away, oh, dear, prince!"

"Igneel! Igneel!"

"I love youuu~!"

She clenched her fist in front of her face, "That jerk! Why I oughta–"

"Igneel, it's me~!"

A spiky pink haired young man with a scale patterned scarf, a red coat over his clothes and a traveling pack came barging in through the crowd, interrupting the Salamander's charade.

. . .

. . .

. . .

"Who the heck are you?" He asked suddenly, face confused as to who the person Salamander was, not recognizing him, disappointment filling his tone.

The eyes of every girl in the crowd burned with rage at the insolence of this random guy. He was taking all of Salamander's attention! Someone who doesn't know how great the man before him is should be burning in hell! They quickly surrounded the pink haired boy and began beating the crap out of him.

"We're gonna rip you to shreds!" A girl who drop kicked him said.

"Owowow! Wait!–"

"Apologize to Salamander!" A girl who grabbed his hair said.

"You're so rude!" A woman who whacked him in the knoggin' said.

"WhaT iS iT WitH yoU GiRLS!?" He managed to rasp out.

The legion of women were kicking, punching, biting, and pulling his hair while he was down, their rumble creating dust clouds as they laid a beatdown on the poor guy. They all soon lifted him up together and dunked him into the nearby garbage pile. He was left in a daze from the sudden attack, his eyes swirling, steam emanating from his body.

"Now, now, ladies, I'm sure the boy's had enough. It wouldn't do for you all to fight in my place. After all, I should be the one fighting for you and all your beauty." Salamander complimented the crowd while flashing a charming smile. And perhaps even a snicker behind it.

The legion swooned at his words, having now completely forgotten about the pink haired boy.

'That jerk! He totally enjoyed seeing that guy get beat up! He's completely manipulating everyone!' She yelled inside. He just ended up using all those girls to gang up on the poor guy!

"Well then ladies, I'm afraid that I must be going now. I have some important business to attend to." He brought a hand up, two fingers with his thumb splayed together, "Time for the 'Red Carpet'," he snapped his fingers, a solid magenta colored flame spiraled him up into the air, "I'm having a little soirée at my yacht tonight. And you're all invited~!" he said as he flew off into the distance. The crowd soon dispersed after he left.

"...Well that was something." The blonde boy remarked as he looked into the air. He turned his attention towards the pink haired guy and winced at the treatment he had been given.

He turned back to her, "Is that meal offer still available?"

"*OM-NOM* *SLURRRP* *NOM-NOM*"

The sounds of chewing, slurping, and gulping filled their table in the restaurant they had went to. The pink haired guy and his talking cat were completely gorging on the food laid out before them, food flying everywhere.

"Wow...it's like they haven't eaten for months..." Cyril said as his mouth was ajar, looking slightly bewildered at the two.

They had introduced themselves on their way to the restaurant.

"Tell me about it...I wasn't expecting to be spending my money on something like this..." She sweatdropped as an apple core flew by her head.

She turned to the blonde boy who sat next to her, "I really can't thank you enough for helping me out again." He had helped her once more. She had totally fallen victim to the illegal charm magic Salamander had, and thankfully, Cyril had noticed and snapped her out of it. "How'd you know about that Salamander guy using a charm spell?" she asked.

"Huh?" He raised an eyebrow, "I mean, it was pretty obvious right? The guy was showing off his hands with the rings on his fingers. It didn't even look like he was trying to hide it." he responded.

Oh yeah. That makes sense. That creep probably thought no one would notice since he had everyone in the area charmed. But you can't resist the spell unless you know about it beforehand or have a high enough magic resistance. How did he resist the spell?

"You're a Celestial Wizard right?" He suddenly asked.

"Eh?" She blinked before answering, "Lemme guess, my Gate Keys gave me away, huh?" she smiled sheepishly.

He scratched his cheek. "Well...I don't see anyone else buying those keys besides Celestial Wizards or Collectors. I don't even get why you'd buy them if you can't use them." He then pointed to himself, "Actually, I'm sort of a Wizard too. So I know all about this Magic stuff." he revealed.

Her eyes widened in surprise, "Wait, really? You're a Wizard? But I thought less than ten percent of the people here even use Magic?"

"Then count yourself lucky for finding someone from that ten percent." He smiled with mirth.

Wow, got a Gate Key for free and met someone in Hargeon she had less than a ten percent chance of meeting. Is this her lucky day?

"What Guild are you from?" She asked. In order to be recognized as a full-fledged Wizard, you need to be registered at a Guild.

"Hm? Well uhh..." He rubbed the back of his neck, "I haven't really joined one yet. I've been keeping my eye on a certain Guild though..." he looked out the window, "'Fairy Tail'."

Her eyes sparkled at the mention of her favorite Guild. "Oh my gosh! You too? I've been keeping track of that Guild for a while as well!" She clasped her hands together and started raving and fidgeting, "There are tons of Guilds all over the world! I've heard it's hard to get into the popular ones but that Guild is the most popular one there is! Hahh~...yeah~..! They're the greatest and are always featured in Sorcerer Weekly!" steam began shooting out her nose in her excitement, "Oh, If I could actually convince them to let me in I think I'd just die of joy~! I'm definitely gonna get in, take on lots of exciting jobs, and make tons of money!"

Cyril smiled and looked at her wryly, a bit flustered, his eyebrow twitching at her little fangirling. He had completely forgotten how much she had wanted to join Fairy Tail in the beginning.

The pink haired young man perked up at the mention of Fairy Tail. He slurped up the rest of his pizza and wiped his mouth with his sleeve. "You guys are talking about Fairy Tail right?" He grinned a toothy grin.

"Huh? Oh, yeah...Natsu and Happy right?" She waved her hand up and down at them, "I'm sorry, all this Wizarding stuff must be making you confused. Don't mind me." She placed her chin on top of her clasped fingers, "I'm surprised you even know about Fairy Tail. You don't seem like the knowledgeable type to me."

"Huh? Of course I know about Fairy Tail! It's only the best Guild ever!" He exclaimed with absolute assurance in his voice.

"Aye!" Happy added.

"I know, right!?" She happily agreed.

The three beamed at the topic of Fairy Tail.

"Well...I think it's time we part ways." The blonde boy got out of his seat and began making his way to the door.

Huh? He's leaving already? He didn't even eat anything. Then again, neither did she.

As she moved to get out of her seat as well, her hand touched the Sorcerer Weekly Magazine Cyril had left behind. It looks like he forgot about it.

She got up with the magazine and quickly stopped the young man. "Cyril, wait! Your Sorcerer Weekly Magazine!" She called out to him, waving the thing in her hand.

He turned back to her, "Huh? Oh that? You can keep it. I just make sure to buy something whenever I enter the old man's shop. It'd be rude to just enter and leave." he turned back around and opened the door.

Before Cyril fully left, Natsu and Happy got out of their seats and bowed on their hands and knees towards Lucy and Cyril.

"Thank you both for the food!"

"Thank you!"

They said together.

She flinched at the scene they were causing, and turned back to them, "Cut it out! You're causing a scene!"

Cyril only chuckled and responded with, "Don't mention it."

They both exited through the door. She turned to Cyril outside, "Well, it was nice meeting you. Thanks again for all your help. Maybe we'll see each other again in Fairy Tail." She smiled and waved.

He snorted, "Likewise." He paused before he left, "Oh, and before I go..." He looked to her again, "I'd be careful of that Salamander guy. You shouldn't trust whatever he says. He's pretty shady." he warned.

"Eh? I already know that. That guy's a creep, why would I trust him?" She said, tilting her head.

He stared at her for a moment. He then nodded and went down the street.

She looked at his direction for a second longer before making her way to Hargeon Park. He was a nice enough guy for a Wizard in Hargeon.

She soon sat down on a bench and began reading the Sorcerer Weekly Magazine he had given her.

. . .

. . .

~Hours later

Cyril had been tense the moment he spotted Lucy in the shop. He and Lancer had stayed in Hargeon for ten months. For three of those months he visited that shop every week to see if she would appear. Lo and behold she did. He had caught her in the middle of her 'bargaining' and immediately started off on the wrong foot. Just his luck, right? Thankfully he was able to mend it for the cost of twenty-thousand Jewels...ugh...

She then did something he didn't expect. She offered him a meal as thanks, but in doing so could potentially make it so that she wouldn't meet Natsu and Happy, since if they went to the restaurant she'd miss out on Bora's performance, which makes her miss her meeting with the Fairy Tail duo. He tried leaving as soon as he could but she followed him, so he quickly decided to just lead her down the road where she'd see Bora, and thankfully, everything seemed to go back to normal...well...as normal as it could be. He ended up warning her about Bora as well, but he didn't think the message got through to her.

He sighed and closed his eyes. The story is starting and he still doesn't know exactly what to do. The Quest 'Making History' is incredibly vague. It told him to leave an impact on Fairy Tail's story, but technically he should have already made one the moment he talked to Lucy and bought her the Silver Key.

And yet the Quest didn't get completed.

Did he have to make a big one? Does someone have to die? He really hopes not. He still has a lot of time to choose how to go about this Quest. Technically, he should be able to make an impact just by joining the Guild and participating in whatever events happen there, but that might not be enough. The sooner this Quest is completed the sooner he can truly relax. He could totally relax normally, but there's always that 'Erasure of You and the World' thing that's breathing down his neck. He doesn't know how long he has, but he's sure that he's still got quite a while until Fairy Tail's story truly ends. Looks like he'll have to just go with the flow for now.

He opened his eyes and spotted Bora's boat in the distance. He was currently on the port beach shore. The sun had already set, the ocean being a dark blue, shimmering from the moonlight. Now was the time for Natsu and Happy to be flying to the boat. So when he looked up to the sky towards the ship,

He didn't see them...

Where the hell were Natsu and Happy!? Shouldn't they have been on their way to Bora's ship and stopping him by now? Maybe he's just a bit off on the timing; just paranoid... But the boat keeps getting further and further away each second...

. . .

'Damn...this better count.'

He inscribed two runes onto his shoes that would allow him to step on water, activating them with a bit of Magical energy, their effects immediately working as he stepped onto the water, off the sand, and began sprinting towards the boat in the distance, water rippling under his feet with each step he takes.

He was just being safe. That's all. If Natsu and Happy did come when he was there, then good. Things are back to normal again. But if they don't, then he'd be there to put a stop to Bora. Someone needed to help Lucy out of her bind just so she'd be able to join Fairy Tail. He didn't need Lancer's help for this one, wherever he was. He's grown strong enough to handle this type of battle on his own.

He hadn't grown as quickly after he finished his training with Lancer. Only slowly progressing as the months went on since he hasn't been training as hard. The moments of peace in the Village and Hargeon had really got to him, making him relax when he could. Lancer didn't really care all too much about him training less, just didn't want him staying weaker. As long as he kept training and practicing even a little, he would be able to grow however slowly.

He reached the starboard side of the ship, it's walls seemingly a bit too tall for him to just climb on. Cyan circuit lines appeared on his legs as he reinforced them, then jumped high into the air, and landed on the bow of the ship.

"Alright...now time to find Lucy."

Just when she thought she'd finally be able to join Fairy Tail, it turns out it was all just one sick joke. She shook in rage and despair as she saw the cocky grins of the thugs that surrounded her.

That Fairy Tail Wizard, Salamander. He had approached her in the park, offering her a chance to join Fairy Tail. It turned out to be just a lie. This bastard has been using magic to lure girls to his ship and putting them to sleep. He wanted to kidnap groups of women to sell them off as slaves in Bosco! And she was an idiot who fell for his trap...

'Damn it!' It pissed her off so much that she couldn't do anything without her Gate Keys. All these women getting kidnapped and she isn't able to do a thing to help them.

He was abusing his magic! Using it for evil purposes! If this was what a Fairy Tail Wizard was, then she didn't want any part of it!

She continued to shake, tears beginning to form in her eyes, losing her faith in Fairy Tail. "...You used Magic to take advantage of others..." Her tears began flowing down her cheeks, she looked up to the Fairy Tail Wizard. "...You're the worst Wizard alive!"

. . .

"Heh...is that all you have to say? I've heard worse. Take her away with the rest to the cellars. We'll brand them later." He sneered, waving her off.

Two of the thugs that surrounded her grabbed her arms, and began dragging her away. She simply wasn't physically strong enough to resist as they brought her to the door.

'Someone...please stop them!' She begged for help internally.

'Please...I'm beg–' She didn't get to finish her second thought as the door was slammed open from the outside.

A blur came right in, grabbing the head of the guy holding her right arm.

"What the–" The one holding her left was cut off as the figure bashed the two thugs' heads together, knocking them out.

She looked up to her savior, and wiped her tears away. "It's you!"

The person she met a while ago who had helped her and warned her about Salamander. He raised his brow as he looked down to her with his amethyst eyes and gave a grin, "Geez...didn't I tell you not to trust this shady guy?" He said while pointing his thumb to Salamander.

Cyril had been waiting right outside the door, waiting for Lucy to get closer so he could separate her from most of the thugs in the room. The moment the three got close to the door he activated his runes and kicked the door open, taking out the two thugs holding her.

"The jerk tricked me! He said he was gonna get me into Fairy Tail!" She stood back up and glared at the blue haired man, "And he's kidnapping all these women too!"

Cyril snorted, "I guess you should've done your homework better Lucy. Cause that guy is not a member of Fairy Tail."

"He's not?" She asked surprisingly.

"Not at all." He shook his head, "If I remember correctly, his name is Bora the Prominence. Got kicked out of the Titan Nose Guild a few years ago for bad behavior."

Bora stared at them in shock, "How do you know about that!? Grrr...it doesn't matter, you'll be dead before you can even think about leaving!" he stretches his arms wide open, a Magic circle appearing in front of him, "Prominence Typhoon!"

A magenta and black colored column of spiraling fire came at them.

"IYAAA! We're gonna get cooked alive!" She yelled while covering her face.

Cyril activated the 'Ehwaz' runes on his gloves, the set of runes spiraling around his hands and upon activation made his gloves glow a greenish blue light, hardening them, and punched right through the spiraling fire, dispelling it.

'He just punched away the fire!?' Lucy screamed in her head.

"Huh!?" Bora was clearly not expecting that.

Cyril turned to her, "I'd recommend finding your keys, Lucy."

"What? How? They're in the ocean!" Bora had thrown her keys out the window a little while ago, sending them into the waters.

He backhanded the wall, blowing it out of the way. He then picked her up in a princess carry.

"Huh!?" Her face flushed. Was he gonna carry her away?

He spun, "Alley-oop!" then threw her out into the ocean soon after, towards the direction of her keys. "I'll keep them busy!" He called out to her.

"WAAHHH!!!" She screamed before she hit the water. That jerk! She was so gonna give him a piece of her mind after this!

In the water, she spotted her keys stuck on an underwater pillar of rocks. Thankfully the water was shallow around it, so she quickly picked them up and swam upwards.

"Pwaaahh!" She came out of the ocean, gulping for air. She looked towards the boat and saw a bunch of thugs getting knocked off, and magenta fire being sent out in spades.

It looks like he has his hands full up there, he could probably use some help. They need to get the ship back to the port to save the girls, and with all this water around she's got just the right spirit for the job!

She pulled a Golden Key off the ring and smirked, "Here we go... Open, Gate of the Water Bearer!" she stabbed the key into the water, twisting it, a Magic circle forming under it, "Aquarius!" she called forth her Celestial Spirit from another world. In a torrent of water a long blue haired mermaid with an urn appeared.

"Alright Aquarius, I want you to send that ship over there back to the port!" She commanded as she pointed to the port.

The mermaid looked at her with one eye open, "Tch."

"I summoned you from the spirit world to help! Not to give me attitude!" She complained.

"Let's make one thing clear. The next time you even think about dropping my Key, you're dead." Aquarius threatened.

"Eep! Okay! It won't happen again!" She distanced herself from Aquarius.

Torrents of water began gathering into her urn, magical energy rising within, she arched her back, then spun around and swung her urn, releasing all the stockpiled water within, causing a typhoon of water to come out, causing a massive wave to send the ship towards the port shore, and hit Lucy.

On the ship, Cyril was actually just about to land a finishing blow on the fire mage until he turned around, seeing the incoming wave. "Uh-oh..."

~Meanwhile

"Fuwaaa~" A man yawned.

A man with blue hair tied in a rattail, wearing a green, yellow, and red hawaiian shirt was currently sitting on the edge of the port. His empty cans of coffee was beside him, with finished cigarettes dumped into them. He was currently fishing.

Lancer had a bucket full of fish that he had caught throughout the day. He had been planning to peddle all this marine food for Jewels tomorrow as one of his part-time jobs.

Fishing at the Port was one of Lancer's favorite pastimes. The port was his haven. Whenever he came to the port, most people would decidedly avoid the place to stay away from the gangster-looking guy, so he had this part of the port all to himself most of the time. And when he came here, he would spend his entire day fishing, just fishing, enjoying the fun little exercise, this spot always being peaceful...

"C'mon! Pleeaassee?"

Until now...

Earlier in the evening, a blue talking cat had come up to him and has been trying to get a fish for free. He was surprised when he saw the little rascal begin talking to him. The cat ended up trying to bargain with him the entire time for a fish. And by bargain, he means beg.

"You have so much fish! You won't miss a single fish being gone, right? So I can have one, right?" Happy stared at the bucket of fish.

"No, ya stupid cat. I told you already, all this fish is for selling. If you wanna get one then ya gotta buy one at my stall tomorrow." Lancer continued staring at the water, waiting for a fish to bite.

"But whyyy? You don't need this much fish and I'm hungry!" Happy complained.

"C'mon man, just give him a fish already." A pink haired boy spoke out.

The cat's companion, Natsu, had been trying to help Happy get a fish for the past thirty minutes. When he and Happy were passing by the port, they had spotted a lone man fishing this late in the evening. Happy being Happy, upon spotting the bucket of fish, had came over to drool and ask for one. Unfortunately, the man wouldn't budge, and continued fishing. For some reason, Happy kept insisting for one.

"If ya want a fish, then catch one yourself." Lancer told them.

Natsu visibly sighed, "Aww man. But that'll take too long! And we don't even have a rod."

"C'mon Mister Fisher Man! Just one fish! And then we'll leave!" Happy claimed.

"Nooope~" Lancer denied. This was his hard earned fish. Each one of them is gonna make a pretty Jewel. And those pretty Jewels are gonna be used to go on dates with pretty ladies.

"Pleeaasse...any fish is fine." Happy continued.

"You can have the octopus." Lancer offered.

"I don't want an octopus! I want a fish!" Happy denied.

"Man, this is getting ridiculous... We came here to find Igneel, not bargain for fish..." Natsu groaned.

His day hasn't exactly gone the greatest... He had arrived to Hargeon on a train. Everyone who knew Natsu knows he and vehicles of transportation don't mix. He then found out there wasn't an actual Salamander in town, and then got beat up by a bunch of girls for no reason! At least he met two nice people who treated him and Happy to some food.

"Then leave. Nothing's stopping you kid." Lancer said as he turned his eyes towards them.

"We ain't leaving until ya hand over a fish, pal!" Natsu exclaimed while angrily pointing a finger at Lancer. He spent all this time trying to get Happy a fish, he'll be damned if he doesn't get one!

"Kid, if you're asking for a fight then you better get ready to be eating the floor for the next thirty minutes." Lancer warned.

"Huhhh!? Are ya saying you're gonna kick my ass!?" He grinded his teeth.

"That's exactly what's gonna happen if ya keep bugging me, kid!" Lancer had a vein growing out his head. He had been dealing with these two for a while now. He just wanted his Haven back, but he ain't giving up his fish, that would be admitting defeat at this point.

"Grrrr... That's it! If ya wanna go, let's go then! C'mon! I'm ready for ya!" He clenched both his fists in the air at Lancer.

Suddenly, Lancer had felt vibrations on his fishing rod, something was coming. "Tsk...hold on a second, I think I'm getting something."

*Rumble* *Rumble*

The trio looked up towards the ocean, seeing a gigantic wave heading straight for them! The trio's eyes bulged out at the sight of a tsunami making its way to the port.

"UWAAAHH!!" Natsu quickly turned to his feline companion, "Happy! Get us out of here!" he ordered.

"Aye, Sir!" Happy sprouted his wings and lifted the pink haired boy into the air, the Fairy Tail duo flying high into the sky to avoid the tidal wave.

Lancer watched the two fly into the air as the wave was about to reach the port. "Oi, Oi! The hell is up with THIIIISSS—GAAHH!!!" Lancer got consumed by the wave as it crashed into the port, including his bucket of fish.

Natsu and Happy looked down at the water below them, having barely just dodged it. "That was a close one!" He wiped sweat off his forehead.

"Aye!" Happy agreed.

From the wave, a fish was thrown up onto Happy's head. The cat beaming at the yummy treat. "Yay! Fish!"

Unfortunately the octopus that Lancer had offered also got thrown up.

Right onto Natsu's face.

"MMFRMPHRRB!!!" He shook and struggled in the air from the octo-attack on his head.

"Natsu, stay still or else we're gonna–"

*Bonk*

Happy was hit in the face with Lancer's empty bucket that used to hold fish; canceling his transformation spell.

"–FAAAALLLL!!!" The two plummeted into the waters.

The boy and cat were whirled away by the wave. Eventually it receded, leftover water raining from above, with them finding themselves on the beach shore alongside a couple others and a crashed ship.

"Mmmphrbr–Phuah!" Natsu pulled the octopus off his face and chucked it back into the water. "What the heck was that about?" He says as he looks around the area, spotting a certain Celestial Wizard.

Lucy was sitting on her knees on the sand, an annoyed expression marring her face as she looked to a mermaid lady.

"What's the big deal!? Don't you think you could've tried not to sweep me up with the ship?" She complained.

"My bad. I didn't mean to get the ship." Aquarius nonchalantly retorted.

"Wait, doesn't that mean you were targeting me!?" Lucy stared at her with a comical amount of shock.

Aquarius's face became smug as she turned away, "Don't summon me for a while. I'm going on a week long vacation with my boyfriend." She slightly turns her head to Lucy, "And he's hot." she bragged as she faded away.

Lucy grinded her teeth, "You don't have to rub it in!"

"Hey! Is that you Lucy?" Happy called out to her.

She perked up at the voice and turned to it, "Happy? Natsu? What are you two doing here?"

"We got caught up in that huge wave! What was that anyway?" Natsu said as the duo approached Lucy.

A short distance away from them was Bora, who was slowly getting up, a bruise on his cheek, recovering from the previous fight on the ship and the wave that had pushed everyone to shore. All the thugs that were on the ship were either knocked out by Cyril or the wave.

"Ugh... What the hell was that?" He looked up at the ship to see Cyril standing on top of it, looking down at them.

Cyril had managed to stay on the ship somehow. He looked around and spotted Natsu, the two locking eyes. He decided to leave the rest to him.

"Fancy meeting you here Natsu!" He called out, "You came at the perfect time! That guy over there's been dragging Fairy Tail's name in the mud! You just gonna let him get away with that?" he voiced aloud as he pointed towards Bora, intentionally provoking the Dragon Slayer.

Natsu's brows furrowed at the statement. He turned towards Bora with an angry vein popping out his head, "Oh? Is that so?" he asked the fire mage.

"Heh, what of it?" Bora sneered. Fairy Tail was always a convincing title to use when luring women. He had no problems using their name.

Natsu's face shadowed at the confirmation. He threw off his red coat as he slowly walked towards him.

Under his coat, Natsu wore an open and sleeveless black vest with gold trimmings. His pants legs reached his knees; tightened shut above his shins. His scale patterned scarf fluttered in the wind. Barely below his right shoulder, the Fairy Tail emblem lay emblazoned.

Lucy's eyes bulged out at the symbol, "Natsu's a Fairy Tail Wizard!?" she shouted out in surprise.

"Yup. The real deal." Happy nodded his head.

Natsu began cracking his knuckles, "Listen here buddy...I don't care if you're a good guy, bad guy, or whatever... If you're messing with the name of Fairy Tail, I'm gonna roast you like a smoked fish!"

"He's gonna what!?" Bora yelled in terror. All his men are down, so he's on his own for this.

Natsu began running at him with flames enveloping his fists, ready to lay a fiery smackdown.

In a panic, Bora stretched his arms up into the air, hands gathering magical energy, "Red Skull!" He threw a purple sphere of flames, rocketing towards the pink haired young man.

Natsu caught it and began inhaling it, sucking the flames right into his mouth, consuming it for a power boost. "Hahh... Thanks for the hefty meal! Now I've got a fire in my belly that's raging to get out!"

"HUUHHH!?!?" Bora's attack was once again nullified in an unexpected way.

"HE ATE IT!?!?" Lucy's eyes bulged out again at the sight of someone eating fire.

"Fire magic doesn't work on Natsu." Happy stated it like a fact. "Y'see, Natsu's a Fire Dragon Slayer. His brand of magic lets him take on properties of a Dragon, so he can resist fire, breathe fire, and attack with fire. It's a magic designed for slaying dragons."

Cyril came down from the ship and regrouped with the girl and cat. "That's an ancient lost magic right? Pretty impressive." He turned to watch Natsu begin his attack.

A roar of a Dragon echoed as Natsu punched his fists together, flames surrounding him.

"Here goes... Fire Dragon Roar!"

He brought his hands to his mouth akin to a trumpeter, magic circle forming in front, and fire soon shot out towards Bora, causing a huge explosion.

Moments later, Bora looked down with wide eyes towards the destruction. He had used his Red Carpet spell to send him above the explosive attack, avoiding it.

"You're not getting away!"

*Bam* "Guah!"

Natsu had propelled himself into the air using his fire, and kicked Bora away into another part of town, a huge dust cloud popping up.

The fire Wizard stood up from the rubble, with Natsu waiting for him on a nearby rooftop. Bora quickly got back into the air with Red Carpet and brought his hands before him, magical energy gathering into the magic seal in front of him.

"Hell Prominence!"

He released the energy, causing a long purple laser to shoot out across the entirety of Hargeon, causing massive destruction.

From the smoke clouds came a fast moving target, zooming straight towards Bora.

Natsu cocked his right fist back with flames covering it,

"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"

and threw it forward into Bora's face, causing him to ricochet throughout the town and crash into a large bell on top of a building, making it to ring.

The area Bora was sent flying through was completely destroyed. Rubble and fire spread throughout the collapsed structures. The destruction was easily seen from the shore of the leftover port.

Cyril sighed, "There goes Hargeon without any incidents occurring for a full year. Ten months...they were so close." he lamented.

Lucy stared with wide eyes at the destruction, "He totally overdid it! The entire place is leveled!" she exclaimed as she looked towards the destroyed port.

In the distance, the army had been notified and was currently on route to the scene of the chaos, planning to arrest all people related to the incident. The marching could be heard from afar.

"What's all this ruckus!!" A portly knight yelled out from the distance.

"Here comes the army..." Cyril warned.

Suddenly, both Lucy and Cyril were pulled off their feet by their wrists, and dashed away from the incoming group. "Crap! We gotta get outta here!" The two blondes looked up to see Natsu bringing them with him.

"Where the hell are you taking us!?" Lucy yelled bewildered.

"Why me too!?" Cyril questioned.

Natsu turned his head back to look at them, "You guys said you wanted to join Fairy Tail, right? Well then c'mon! Let's go!" he grinned.

Cyril and Lucy paused, before giving a small smile at the turn of events.

'Lancer, go pack up our stuff at home. We're moving to Magnolia.' He messaged his Servant through their telepathic link.

'. . . . .' For some reason Lancer didn't respond.

In the Ocean, one could see a person with a hawaiian shirt floating on top of the water. He stared into the night sky, lamenting over his terrible fortune. Lancer had gotten his Master's message, but he was currently unmoved, his face hollow, and massive disappointment lining his expression. Why did this stuff have to happen on his fishing day? The port was destroyed... His haven was totally ruined...

Even in another world he finds a way to get screwed over... Curse his damn luck...

「ALERT」

Main Quest『The Fairy Tail』has been complete

Distributing Rewards...

–2,500FP

–5,000EXP

The Quest Cyril had gotten when he first saw Lucy was now complete. He sighed in relief, the events in Hargeon finally over. He, Lucy, Natsu, and Happy were currently on a train to Magnolia, managing to sneak on board despite Natsu's protests. The Dragon Slayer sat across from him and was currently unconscious, saving him from his terrible fate of motion sickness. Happy was asleep as well next to the pink haired boy, drooling. Lucy sat in the seat next to him, reading a book. A soft smile gracing her lips as she read it.

After dismissing the alert, he brought up his and Lancer's Stats to see if they changed at all. First looking at his page.

「STATS」

[Cyril Alerion]

Class: Master

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Weight: 62kg (136 lbs)

Height: 172cm (5' 7")

Alignment: True Neutral

Likes: Fate Points, numbers going up, beautiful scenery

Dislikes: Wasting Fate Points, The Dreamer

[Parameter Levels]

Strength Level: 22/30

Endurance Level: 21/30

Agility Level: 24/30

Mana Level: 24/30

Luck Level: 21/30

(Fate Level: 3)

It seems his Mana and Luck went up by one after the fight in Hargeon. His progress has been a whole lot slower in the past several months, especially from the higher requirements to gain a level to a Parameter. Now that he was Fate Level 3, his stats require 3,000EXP or an equivalent in training in order to gain an increase to the stat, meaning he'd need a total of 30,000EXP worth to max out each stat. Thankfully, it looks like participating in fights gives him stat points too.

He pulled up Lancer's Stats next.

「SERVANTS」

[Cú Chulainn]

Class: Lancer

Race: Heroic Spirit

Gender: Male

Weight: 72kg (158 lbs)

Height: 185cm (6' 0")

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Likes: Women with strong will, irrational promises

Dislikes: Devious methods, betrayal

[Parameters]

Strength: C

Endurance: D

Agility: C

Mana: D

Luck: E

[Skills]

Magic Resistance (C Rank) : LOCKED

Battle Continuation (A Rank) : LOCKED

Disengage (C Rank) :

The ability to withdraw from the battlefield in the midst of combat or reset the battle conditions.

Due to simultaneously having this skill along with Battle Continuation, Cú Chulainn displays better his real worth in skirmishes than in one-on-one duels. However, since he likes duels so much, this fact does not really stand out.

Divinity (B Rank): LOCKED

Rune Magecraft (B Rank):

Cú Chulainn has the capacity to use the 18 Primordial Runes (Norse Runes), granted by his mentor Scáthach from his studies with her.

Although he is a nearly first-rate master, since he himself sees them as a hindrance, he doesn't usually employ them in combat. He appropriately utilizes them to respond to different situations.

Protection from Arrows (B Rank):

The ability to deal with projectiles, an increased defense against ranged attacks by predicting the projectiles' trajectories through exceptional means, such as hearing the sound of air being cut, or sensing the killing intent of the enemy.

It's said that it's possible for him to avoid any long range attack if he has made visual confirmation of his opponent, tracking down ranged weapons with his eyes and defending against them. He can deal with most projectiles even in conditions where the opponent cannot be visually seen. As long as the attack is a thrown type, he can avoid even Noble Phantasms, but he can't gain the effects of this protection with respect to wide range attack types where the attack range of the weapon explodes on impact, or a direct attack by a weapon that has simply long reach

[Noble Phantasm]

Gáe Bolg (B Rank) (Anti-Unit/Anti-Army):

A cursed spear with an ominous design that was obtained from Scáthach in the Land of Shadows by Cú Chulainn. Gáe Bolg was carved from the remains of Curruid's skull.

Barbed Spear that Pierces with Death: LOCKED

Soaring Spear that Strikes with Death: LOCKED

Lancer's Stats seem to be mostly the same. At least they're not all E Rank anymore, except for Luck though. That thing probably isn't affected by his own stats. The spearman had gotten his Disengage skill back when he first reached Fate Level 2, and the Protection from Arrows skill back when he reached Level 3 after they left the Village. Lancer's Stats are steadily progressing with his, so he made an estimation that Lancer's Stats would be back to normal by the time he reached Level 5 or 6.

But there's still one thing that's been irritating him since Hargeon.

「QUESTS」

『Making History』

You have been granted a new life to live in Earth Land for an experiment. With higher beings backing this project, you are expected to become an important figure in the future of this world.

Objectives:

Make an impact on the story of Fairy Tail

Rewards:

1,000,000 FP

Failure:

Erasure of You and the World

"If you thought you were getting a free ticket to live again for no reason, then go back home. Oh wait! You can't! Haha!"

~The Dreamer

Just seeing the quote from The Dreamer pissed him off. The Quest didn't get completed even after his little rescue mission with Lucy. How was it not enough? He literally took Natsu's place for that thing, wherever Natsu was during the time. He frowned at this confusing Quest. He definitely made an impact–at least he thinks so–when he saved Lucy. But the Quest didn't seem to count it, so right now he's currently confused as to what kind of impact he's supposed to make. Maybe it'll complete itself later in the future.

He dismissed the screen, leaning back into his seat with a sigh. He was tired after today's events, so he wanted some much needed sleep, he'll be needing it for tomorrow since he'll be joining Fairy Tail. That place would sure know how to cause a ruckus.

"You alright?" Lucy had closed her book, noticing his frown. "I thought you'd be a lot more excited about joining Fairy Tail. Y'know, since you've been planning to join for a while."

He slowly turned his head to her, "I am excited. It's just that after everything that's happened in Hargeon, it'd be understandable why I'm a bit tired, right?" he told her.

"Yeah... That was one heck of a first meeting, huh?" She smiled.

"Quite. Didn't expect to have to bust you out of Bora's ship, y'know. I thought you'd taken my warning to heart." He bantered.

"He tricked me!" She retorted, then paused before speaking again, "...I won't ask why you were there. If it wasn't for you, then me and all those girls would've been taken away to Bosco."

He doubted that. "Don't mention it. If it wasn't me, then I'm sure someone else would have saved you girls. I just knew Bora wasn't a good guy and came to make sure everything turned out alright." He couldn't let Lucy get kidnapped or else the story might derail terribly.

"Well...I guess that makes it the third time you've helped me out today. So thanks again." She expressed her gratitude.

"Like I said, don't mention it." He looked outside the window, the starry night being showcased. The view looked so nice, it helped him relax. He was always fond of aesthetically pleasing views.

"I can't help but feel like this is all Fate." Lucy suddenly said, causing him to snap his head to her in surprise. "Me and you looking to join Fairy Tail, and Natsu and Happy, Fairy Tail members just so happening to be there in the right place at the right time. It all feels so predestined. Like a story book, y'know?"

Holy crap...she's really close. Is she a psychic or something? What's up with her?

"I've always enjoyed those books. Stories where the Protagonist and Friends go off on lots of fun adventures. I can't help but feel like our meeting is just like that. The four of us suddenly finding each other and going off to join Fairy Tail, where new and exciting experiences are waiting for us. Do you think I could write a story about it?"

She's nearly a prophet at this point! All because their meetings are like the story books she reads? Man, it's kinda scary how easy it is for her to predict the future. Is his knowledge of canon useless?

He grinned at her, "I'm sure your adventures would be a story worth telling. If you wrote about it, then I guarantee it'll be a success." Of course it would be successful. It was in his previous world.

"Wow, you really think so? I haven't really wrote a story before, but I've read a lot of books. Maybe I can use some of those for reference?" She pondered.

"I think just writing down your own experiences in Fairy Tail will be enough. I'm sure you'll be having plenty of exciting moments there, so plenty of things to reference from your own adventures." He advised her.

She smiled at the thought of her joining Fairy Tail, "Yeah, you're right. Fairy Tail's definitely gonna be exciting! I can't wait!" She beamed.

How adorable.

He turned back to the window, the starry night sky still in view. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, planning to go to sleep.

'Master...' Lancer called out to him using their link.

'What the–Lancer? Where the hell have you been?' He questioned his Servant. He hadn't seen him all day, so he's been wondering what the spearman was up to.

'Uhh...I've got some bad news...'

Bad news? Oh no...

'Remember when ya told me to go pack our stuff from home?' Lancer asked.

'Yeah...what about it?' He replied.

'Well...it looks like our house has been completely crushed and burnt to cinders. Including everything that was inside... The entire place is wrecked, nothing to salvage. Whatever happened here really tore the place up.' Lancer informed.

. . .

. . .

. . .

He completely lost all color, becoming hollow and despondent.

All their stuff? All of it!? The saved up Jewels? The many gifts he received from the Villagers and people in Hargeon? Gone!?

He knew Natsu's little rampage battle had spread throughout town quite a bit, but to think it reached his home! How unlucky!

He began to weep inside as he slumped back in his chair, staring into the ceiling, an empty look in his eyes, and a hollow laugh echoing from his lips.

"Woah! Are you alright there?" Lucy saw his little outburst.

"Yeah...just fine...just remembered how Natsu actually destroyed my house and all it's belongings...totally fine..." He whimpered with an extremely strained smile on his face.

He ended up crying himself to sleep soon after, upset at the loss of all the stuff he's gained from the two and half years of hard work in the Village and Hargeon.

Curse his damn luck...

Author's Note

And that's Hargeon. Natsu, Lucy, and Happy have been introduced and the next chapter will probably be the two blondes joining Fairy Tail and going on their first mission(It's gonna be the Everlue Mansion job). I'm skipping the Macao arc cause I don't think it's needed.

This chapter was a whole bunch of rehashing, but then again, that's gonna be happening a lot. I wanted to give most of the spotlight to Lucy and Natsu, though I don't think I balanced it very well. I at least got to have Cyril and Lancer interact with the three main characters, but unfortunately I didn't give much spotlight to Cú. I did enjoy his little talk with Natsu and Happy, let me know if you did too if you want.

I–again–didn't expect the chapter to practically be 10k words long, it's literally just episode one of Fairy Tail with a couple changes.

I'm glad to see several people taking a liking to this story. Thanks to those who decided to leave a review.

And again, tell me if anyone is acting too out of character, let me know what I can improve. I appreciate the time you spend leaving a review.

Thanks again for reading this little first story of mine. See you in the next chapter I guess.

Also, Fun Fact: Did you know that in the manga, Bora was actually about to brand Lucy before Natsu came in and saved her? I was checking the manga chapter to see if there's anything I should know about or include, but I was surprised when I saw Bora pull out a branding iron. Dark, right?
