Chapter 7

He stared back and then slowly his eyes widened. "Ri…Riku?" he stammered in shock. He pressed a hand to his Heart, staring at the floating creature before him. He couldn't deny that it felt like Riku, but it looked like something out of a nightmare…Heartless? Had he done this to him? He bit his lip, fighting tears as he stared at his best friend…or what was left of him. "Riku, I…I'm so sorry," he choked out. "I couldn't fight him." He didn't know if Riku could understand him but he hadn't attacked. "Can…can you understand me? Do you know me?" he asked, taking a hesitant step but then froze when the blade twitched. They stood there, silently staring at each other for several minutes.

"SSsssoorraaa," the strange mouth parted enough to allow the noise out, and it took him a second to recognise it as a slurred attempt at his name.

He nodded, feeling tears fall. "Oh Riku…" he reached out his hand and Riku darted back, as if…as if expecting a blow, but then he stopped, floating in place. "I won't hurt you Riku, I'd never hurt you," he promised, keeping his hand out to him, happy when Riku moved close, his grip seeming tight on his sword but he didn't attack.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

He could feel a Heart, wanted it, shrouded in Darkness but still with Light in it. Something stopped him….him…

"Ri…Riku?"

Riku…him…Riku….he was Riku. Noise…it had meaning…he struggled to try and understand only to get ready to fight as the Heart moved closer. An image of the Heart wavered, holding something painful…holding something yellow and squishy…warmth…heat…keep safe…

"SSsssoorraaa." Sora…Sora was…important…hurt him…

He darted back and away, had to protect himself. Sora not hurt? Slowly, he moved closer, ready to fight, part of him screaming to attack and consume….no, not Sora! Protect…keep safe…something warm touched him and he wanted to move away but it didn't hurt.

"That's it Riku, I won't hurt you. I'm here. We'll find a way out and to fix you, we will."

Fix? Broken?

,,,,,,,,,,,,

He didn't know how much Riku could understand, if he was really understanding anything except maybe his tone. Riku's skin felt strange under his hand but he didn't pull away, hoping the touch would help Riku remember who he was. He'd heard the explanations for Heartless from Maleficent, that he had spoken and seemed to recognise him was a miracle. He moved his hand across Riku's changed form until he reached his free hand, wrapping his hand around Riku's, feeling him jerk but not pull away or attack.

"We need to go," Sora told him, gently tugging, relieved when Riku allowed him to pull him into moving. He was scared, what would happen if they were attacked? Would Riku lose himself to being a Heartless if forced to fight?

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Kairi was happy to let Donald fly, she didn't want to, didn't want to do anything really. She wasn't ready to go back to Hollow Bastion but there was no other choice, the Keyhole had to be sealed. Riku was dead and Sora…she had the slowly sinking feeling that there was nothing they could do to separate him from Ansem and save him. She was going to lose them both, her best friends.

From everything Riku had said when they would run into each other, she didn't believe Sora had been willing at all. What had they done to him to enable him to be possessed? At least that had been enough to make Riku wake up and see what he was doing was wrong. If only they could have talked before…before he…

She just hoped that monster didn't dare use Sora's form, she didn't know if she could fight him.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

He stood up slowly, looking around dully. There was something he had to find…he had to save…he lifted a hand on instinct, Darkness gathering, and then he stepped into it. He didn't know who he was, what anything was…driven only by the knowledge he had to do it, not even really knowing what it was.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Mickey was worried about Sora even though he was utterly relieved to have found Aqua. If only he'd known…but how would he have come after her before now? The boy had seemed utterly heartbroken, would he last long enough, even with the hope of Kairi's survival? Aqua might be needed after all if he couldn't.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Xemnas looked around but found nothing. He had sensed a strong Nobody form right there, had been expecting one of those children who was dealing with his Heartless, but there was nothing. He went into the mansion and even the town itself only to come up empty. He would have to inform the others to keep an eye out on their missions. If it was the Keyblade Master then they would make an excellent addition to the Organisation and would help build his Kingdom Hearts even faster.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Where's Belle?" Kairi asked when they came across the Beast outside of the castle.

"Still in the castle," he answered.

"Against her will?" Goofy asked in concern but Beast shook his head as they began walking.

"No, I think she stayed for a reason. The other princesses are inside as well."

"I wonder why?" Donald asked.

"To hold back the Darkness of the keyhole," Kairi answered, pushing the doors open. She could feel it, and feel the other Princesses.

"You may need my strength. I'll go with you," Beast promised as they entered the castle only to be immediately attacked by Heartless. They fought their way through to the library which for some reason the Heartless avoided, heading to the upper level.

Belle turned away from a bookcase to face Beast and his eyes lit up, making Kairi smile.

"Belle!" Beast cried in relief, embracing her.

"You've come to seal the Keyhole, right? Please, be careful. The Darkness is raging deep inside. We've been holding it back, but we can't hold out much longer," Belle explained, and Kairi nodded.

"I know, I can feel it."

"This is for you. Use it to face the Darkness, as the Beast has," Belle held her hand out, and Kairi accepted the new Keychain.

Next stop, the Keyhole and then…Ansem.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora gasped as they were surrounded by Heartless, dodging an attack only for Riku to block it with his sword. He watched in awe as Riku ripped through the other Heartless, throwing out some spells to watch his back as much as he could, only to drop and roll as Riku swung at him.

"Riku!" he cried out. "Riku stop, it's over." He was panting from casting but he refused to attack Riku.

Riku continued to attack and Sora just kept retreating, unable to even consider fighting back.

"Riku please."

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hurt him! Not again….had to…

"Riku please!"

Riku…Riku was him…he…his! His Light…Sora…he stared at the collapsed figure before him, an rm raised in defence, and he moved back…he'd…he'd tried….

"Riku?" Sora called, lowering his arm, pushing himself slowly to his feet.

He tried to shake his head but….he felt so strange….what was happening to him?

"Riku? Can you understand me?"

He tried to speak, to nod…. "Ssss." There was a strange sword in his hand. He looked at Sora and felt something…hunger…

"That's it, just stay with me Riku, please. I'll find some way to fix this, I will," Sora promised, reaching out to him. "I'm so sorry, this is all my fault, I couldn't fight him."

What? He…Sora…smirking…Keyblade…pain…No! Sora wouldn't…

"We have to keep moving Riku, it's not safe here." Sora carefully took the hand not grasping a sword, and there was something…didn't look right… Sora held on and pulled and Riku moved.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Kairi, you did it." a familiar voice called and they left the Dark Depths to find Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith waiting in the hall.

"What are you guys doing here?" She asked in surprise.

Yuffie grinned at her. "We came in Cid's ship."

"This is our childhood home. We wanted to see it again," Aerith explained, looking sad as she glanced around.

"It's in worse shape than I feared. It used to be so peaceful..." Leon shook his head. It made Kairi dread what their Islands looked like now.

"Don't worry. If we defeat Ansem, all should be restored. Including your island," Aerith assured her as if she'd read her mind.

"Really?" that was amazing, but….the Islands would never be the same, not without Sora and Riku. She had to hold on to there being a chance to save Sora, but Riku…

"But, it also means goodbye," Yuffie's words got her attention. "Once the worlds are restored, they'll all be separate again. Everyone will go back to where they came from," the ninja smiled sadly.

"Then I'll visit you guys with the gummi ship," Kairi promised.

Leon crossed his arms, utterly serious, and Kairi felt her heart sink. "It's not that simple."

"Before all this, you didn't know about the other worlds, right? Because every world was isolated. Impassable walls divided them," Aerith explained, and Kairi frowned.

"The Heartless destroyed those walls. But if the worlds return, so will the walls," Yuffie added.

"Which means gummi ships will be useless," Leon finished, and Kairi shook her head.

"So you're saying we'll never...? But then how did I get to the Islands as a little kid? I wasn't born there."

"You did?" Leon asked, frowning. "Your World must have fallen and you were cast adrift, somehow breaching the barrier of that World to be safe. Perhaps the power of a Princess of the Heart," Leon theorised. "We may never meet again, but we'll never forget each other," he promised her.

"No matter where we are, our hearts will bring us together again," Aerith agreed.

"Besides, I couldn't forget you even if I wanted to," Yuffie teased, obviously trying to lighten the atmosphere.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Kairi acted affronted to play along.

"Kairi!" Donald cried, and she spun to face him, gasping as she saw the Darkness pouring out.

"Hurry! Come and close the Keyhole!" Goofy cried.

"Kairi, good luck," Leon told her and she nodded, running back to Donald and Goofy.

They approached the final glowing Keyhole and Kairi raised her Keyblade, locking the Keyhole, watching the Heartless symbol disappear. It was done.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Something on your mind?" Leon asked as he approached where Kairi had secluded herself, wincing as he saw the tears. He should have sent Aerith, he knew he was not a comforting kind of person, hadn't been in years.

"I…how can I go home without them? She asked. "It's not home unless they're there too. Riku…he's gone, I saw him… but Sora…when he first staggered out of that hall he was so confused and disorientated, but it was Sora. He told Riku to run but he was slurring…he was fighting so hard and I…I ran when Riku told me too. I abandoned Sora. I saw him change, saw the Darkness boil out of him, and then he was Ansem and….could I have done something? What's the point to a Keyblade if I can't save my friends?" she demanded.

"I don't know if you can save Sora, Kairi, but I think if anyone has a shot, it's you." From how the whole group had explained the boys reactions to each other before, if Riku was alive then he'd likely have a far greater chance. But now, Kairi was Sora's only chance…if there was anything left of the boy by now. "You cannot let it distract you though, Ansem must be defeated for the safety of the Worlds. Would Sora want you to save him and doom them?'

"No," she sighed, shaking her head. "How do I fight him?"

"You ignore who he was and fight the Darkness that stole your friend from him. You are a Princess of Heart, use that to try and reach the Light of your friend."

He didn't voice his concerns over how much Light the boy may have had left after living in Maleficent's castle for all those months, if the other boy had been able to come to his senses and fight for them then surely the boy who'd apparently slept through a lot of the events would also have some left within his Heart. And it was possible that anything left of the boy had been cast from his possessed body.

"Get some rest Kairi," he told her and she nodded, going to where they had set up a sleeping area.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora sat down, feeling exhausted, Riku hovering over him. They'd been attacked twice more and Sora had learnt to keep talking the whole time, helping Riku remember he was there and a friend. Riku hadn't spoken since that last attempt of his name, but he at least seemed to listen when Sora spoke, even though he wasn't sure his friend was actually understanding a word he said. "Can you sit? You must be tired Riku." He patted the dark ground beside him and Riku watched his hand.

He floated closer, staring and then seemed to concentrate, sinking lower. It took some time and work, but eventually Riku was sitting beside him. Sora slowly leant closer until he was resting against his strange form, smiling when Riku's free arm wrapped around him, making him feel safe.

"What happened to me Riku?" he whispered. "I…I remember you were gone and…I was with Maleficent. Then I was waking up in bed and I could feel him, inside me, trying to take control." He shivered, and Riku made a soft, rough, noise, trying to comfort him?

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

He stared blankly at his surroundings. He couldn't find it, he had to find, but he couldn't. Had to keep going, had to find it….him? Him…he had to find him. Who? He walked on, ignoring the jungle and animals around him, not recognising any of it, until eventually opening another Corridor on instinct alone.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Seeing the ruined beach made Mickey wonder what it was like when whole and in the Realm of Light. It must be beautiful, perhaps a nice place to take Minnie for a date away from it all. He could feel it, this was the home of the children who had been dragged into the mess. Why had the Keyblade chosen someone so young? Ventus had been young yes, but he had been older than them when he had fought.

"This is...where I met those children."

"So many worlds have been lost. And now they're trapped here in the Dark," he murmured before her words hit him, it couldn't be, could it. "Wait…you know this place, Aqua?"

"Yes. I visited once, and I met two boys I considered passing the Keyblade on to. But because Terra had already given one of them the power, I didn't."

He gasped, shocked. "Aqua. What were the boys' names?"

"They were...Sora and Riku," she smiled softly at the memory.

"I see. We're getting warm." That had to be why they had ended up here of all places.

"Huh?"

"Welp, it's Sora and his friend Kairi who've been helpin' me. We're tryin' to get that door shut for good," he explained.

"Oh…Sora and…wait, Kairi? That was the girl we saved in Radiant Garden, who I gave the protection spell to," Aqua pointed out.

"Aqua, if this is where my friends first got the Keyblade, it also must be where we'll find its counterpart. The Keyblade of Darkness has gotta be here on the dark side of their world," he explained. He had actually forgotten the girl from when he had first met Aqua…the spell must have saved her when her World fell and sent her to the Islands.

Mickey looked around and then spotted the cave, that looked promising. The ground rumbled, nearly knocking them both over. "We'll have to hurry. C'mon!" he urged, running for the cave. They dodged the attacking Heartless and then attacked themselves, working together as well as they had a decade ago. And oh how guilty he felt for her being trapped in the Darkness for so long without him realising it.

"Let's keep goin'," he called once the battle was over, quickly rushing into the entrance, Aqua on his heels. Inside there was a wooden door without a knob. "I bet it's in here," he told her, and they pushed the door open.

Aqua gasped as they saw The Keyblade of Darkness floating inside the room, radiating a golden glow.

"There!" he called in relief. If it hadn't been there, he didn't know where to look next and he knew Sora was waiting for him, already thinking he had the Keyblade. He'd had to keep the boy's hopes up though, he'd been too close to just letting go. Once the Door was shut, they would all find a way out together.

"Is that what you're after?" She asked, studying the blade.

"Yep, it's just the key I was looking for. A Keyblade from the Dark Realm!" even without touching it, it felt different to any Keyblade he had used before.

"A Keyblade of Darkness," she whispered and he knew what she was remembering, the blade that had caused Ventus to be possessed by Vanitas and then loose his Heart.

Mickey grabbed the Keyblade and its glow faded, revealing its inverse colour scheme to the Kingdom Key.

"'The door of darkness...tied by two keys. The door of darkness...to seal the light'. Welp, we've got the keys. Now we find the ones to close the door."

"Sorry?" she looked at him in confusion.

"The door between the two realms-it won't let a heart with Light pass through. So only Darkness keeps spilling out. We can lock the door by using the two Keyblades, but we need help on both sides to get the door shut," he explained as they walked back to the beach.

"Well, then, since you'll be doing the locking, let me be the one to close the door," she offered, as he knew she would.

"Sorry, but the job's taken...by somebody else."

"Huh?"

He hesitated but then sighed. "Sora's here too, trapped by the Darkness. He's already on his way to the door so we need to meet him there. Then the three of us find a way out together," he explained.

,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Sora?" she asked in shock. She remembered the bright little boy from that day on the beach and…he was the last one she would ever expect to end up here. "What of Riku? He's the one with the other Keyblade?" she asked, and to her further shock, Mickey shook his head.

"Kairi has the Keyblade, she's with my friends. Riku…Sora could not sense his Heart when I managed to reach him soon after he came to be here."

She had seen how close the boys were, Sora had promised to keep Riku from walking the path Terra had…how had Sora ended up in the Darkness…and was Riku dead?

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Xemnas watched the girl and her companions leave. So that was the Keyblade Master. Not bad for someone so new perhaps, but also not the source of the Nobody he had detected. That left one of the two boys she had been overheard speaking of on other Worlds. Only one of them had been spotted, so perhaps the one never seen had become a Heartless?

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Kairi ran to the shore, seeing Sora standing there, but she knew it wasn't him, not when she could hear Ansem's voice. He turned to her and she met cold blue eyes, heart sinking at the sight, but she summoned her Keyblade, gripping it tight. "Give him back!"

"Don't bother. Your voice can no longer reach him where he is. His Heart belongs to Darkness. All worlds begin in Darkness, and all so end. The heart is no different," Ansem told her and then Sora's form blurred until it was that of Ansem which in a way was a relief. "Darkness sprouts within it, it grows, consumes it. Such is its nature. In the end, every heart returns to the darkness whence it came." They heard his voice behind them and whirled around as he spoke, having teleported.

Kairi leaped back, staying on guard. He was fast! Faster than Sora had ever been, but then was anything of Sora's physical abilities and weaknesses left?

"You see, Darkness is the heart's true essence," he began and she grimaced before lunging, not wanting to listen to more.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"There!" Mickey called, pointing.

Aqua looked to see a young teen with brown spikey hair running for the door. "Heartless!" she gasped, seeing the form beside him. She grasped her Keyblade, they'd never make it!

"What?!" Mickey stared and then looked to her before they both looked back.

Had that Heartless really…and then it struck again, it was…protecting Sora?

"Could…could it be…Riku?" Mickey whispered, horrified.

"What?"

"Sora's guilt…" Mickey whispered, and she felt sick, was he suggesting that Sora had fallen so far as to kill his friend? "Come on! We need to get to the door."

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Sora ran as fast as he could, Riku floating around him, protecting him from every attacker. He could see it, feel it, Riku was losing his hold on whatever he had left of who he was. He'd seen a few near attacks aimed at him and so was struggling to keep talking to him, to remind him of old memories to keep Riku with him. They had to get to the door! Maybe if they could leave, it would buy Riku more time for them to find a way to heal him.

"Stay with me Riku, please," he said as he ran, and Riku looked at him, face utterly unreadable, but he reached out his empty hand to touch Sora's chest, and Sora smiled at him.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Come...darkness!" Ansem commanded and a huge orb of Darkness formed in his hands before he shot it forward into the abyss, pointing his sword at it. "Now...you weak-hearted fools...witness real power!"

An immense swirling black hole formed in the orb's wake. Electricity hissed inside it and the void began shooting meteors of glowing energy at the three of them. Kairi dodged and blocked all of them that she could, feeling Donald's healing spell hit her at one point.

"Now show me what your precious light can do."

They found themselves drifting towards it uncontrollably, and pushed themselves to fly away from it. She was getting really sick of him! He said Sora was gone and she didn't want to believe it but…surely if there was anything of Sora left in there, he would have tried to help them by now.

Ansem grew tired of their avoiding his attack and raised his arms, causing the void to explode, sending them tumbling through the void. "Still confused? Then perhaps this will enlighten you!" His sword vanished as he crossed his arms, sending several small translucent orbs into the air. They merged with the Guardian in various places, glowing darkly. Laser-emitting orbs returned as Kairi felt her magic draining from her. "Welcome the darkness into your heart."

She just knew he was smirking, but she refused to give up! She would not let him destroy the Worlds! She hung on tight to her Keyblade, panting, even with the Ether Goofy tossed her. She reached deep inside for every scrap of power she had, channelling it into her Keyblade, he had to be stopped!

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Donald watched as Kairi glowed brighter than a star before blurring from view. She dashed in and out, attacking without pause, beams of pure Light spinning around her. Ansem cried out in agony as he was struck over and over.

The World of Chaos began to burst from the inside and Kairi came back to stand with them, gasping. Donald quickly cast Curaga even as he passed her an Elixir.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"Oh no!" she heard Mickey cry and then she realised why as the Demon Tide shifted its angle of attack, blowing passed them and heading right for the still running Sora and his guardian Heartless.

She summoned her Keyblade as they ran, golden chains bursting into existence, all heading for the Heartless, wrapping around them. "Back off!" she growled, struggling to restrain them. The Heartless swerved around in an attempt to escape, and Aqua struggled to keep it bound.

"Aqua!" Mickey called in worry.

"Go without me!" She yelled back, they had to close that door, no matter the cost!

"No, I-!"

The Demon Tide broke free from the chains and rammed into them, trapping them within the mass of Shadows forming the Demon Tide's body. Mickey fell free from the Heartless, causing his shirt to disappear into sparkles of light upon impact with the ground.

"Aqua!" he cried as she was swept out of the room through the wooden door.

It closed and vanished with a flash of light.

,,,,,,,,,,

Sora turned to look, seeing a mass of Heartless…leaving? Then he heard the voice he'd heard before, saw a figure even shorter than he was scrambling up from the ground. the figure turned and saw him, waving an arm.

"Keep going Sora! We're almost there," he yelled, and Sora nodded, rushing towards where he could see the massive white door.

"Come on Riku, almost there," he panted, tripping, feeling Riku catch his arm, keeping him on his feet. "Thanks." And then he yelped as he was flung forward, tumbling across the ground. he scrambled up to see Riku staring at him and then he turned away…blocking a horde of Heartless. "No…Riku run!" he begged as they descended on him.

,,,,,,,,,,

"Is this the answer? I can't be..." Ansem gasped, the Guardian roaring as it imploded, the veins connecting Ansem to the battleship shaking violently and he hung forward, dropping his sword.

Ansem convulsed as the World of Chaos was enveloped by a glowing light, forming a gigantic orb. It exploded, its energy scattering through the abyss.

They stared down at Ansem, who floated before them, twitching. The door to Kingdom Hearts waited behind him. Was it finally over?

"It is futile. The Keyblade alone cannot seal the Door to Darkness," Ansem whispered, before straightening up, whirling around, reaching out towards the door, gazing madly as a

man possessed. "Kingdom Hearts! Fill me with the power of darkness..." His hand trembled as he struggled to recite the words. The great door opened, tongues of Darkness emanating from beyond its cold white stone. Ansem floated higher in the air, his robes billowing out behind him.

"Supreme darkness..."

"You're wrong!" She yelled, she would not let him win! "Kingdom Hearts is Light! I know it!" Why else would the Princesses exist if it wasn't Light too?

Without warning, as if reacting to the words of one of the Seven Princesses, a blinding Light burst from beyond the door, causing Ansem to cover his eyes. It penetrated his being, sending his mind reeling. "Light..." he gasped, struggling and yet frozen in place. "But... Why..." Light erupted from his body, sending crystals bursting from his chest. His arms were thrown apart as the Light consumed everything.

Kairi held her breath but when the Light faded….there was nothing, no sign of Ansem…or Sora.

They flew over to the door and landed on the white sand, racing to the door. "Come on!" She told them, throwing herself against one side of the door, but it didn't budge.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

"NO!" Sora screamed as Riku was swarmed. He started to run back, he had to save him, he couldn't lose him again.

"Sora, the door!"

"I can't leave him!" he screamed back at the…mouse?

"If we don't close that then the Darkness will take everyone!" was the answer.

Sora sobbed, hands pressed to his mouth as he saw Riku throw some of them off, sword swinging, balls of flame moving. "Riku…"

The Heartless looked back at him. "Ssssooorr…rrrruuu…"

"Riku…" he sobbed, but he couldn't ignore Riku, turning to run for the door, blinding by tears. He staggered, hand clutching his chest, as all sense of Riku faded away…he was gone…

He dodged around forming Heartless and skidded to a stop at the doors, hearing a familiar voice from the other side.

"I can't..." Kairi gasped, and Sora wrapped his hand around the door to pull it, wiping the tears away with the other.

He would not let Kairi see his heartbreak, she had to think everything was fine. "Don't give up!" he told her, managing a smile. "Come on, Kairi! We can do it together!"

"Sora!" she cried out in joy at seeing him, making it easier for him to smile at her.

"I'm sorry Kairi, I'm so sorry," he murmured, ignoring everyone else as he continued to pull while she pushed.

"It's not your fault Sora, you were cursed. I know Riku would tell you the same thing," she told him.

"Now, Kairi! Let's close this door for good!" the mouse called from deeper in.

"Close it, quick!"

"But..." she stared at him with wide eyes, finally realising what was about to happen.

"Don't worry. There will always be a door to the light," his new companion called to her.

"Kairi, you can trust King Mickey."

Sora looked back to the King. "Now! They're coming!" he called, seeing more and more forming, they were massive! How were the two of them ever going to make it away? Maybe…maybe it would be best if he didn't.

"Donald, Goofy, thank you," the King called to his friends.

They kept pushing and Sora kept pulling and the doors began to close. Kairi tried to reach for him, but the doors would not let either of them passed.

"I'll find you!" She called, but he couldn't answer, just staring at her in grief as the doors slammed shut.

He moved out of the way as Mickey swung his Keyblade around, releasing magical dust, and raised it into the air. Sora saw Light seeping from the other side right before Mickey's light hit them as well and the doors glowed brightly before disappearing. They'd done it.

Sora felt his legs give way, crumpling to the ground, screaming in grief.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Mickey heard his screams and rushed to his side, kneeling beside the grief stricken boy. He reached out hesitantly, unsure how to help him but they had to move. He would not let Sora simply give up and die due to guilt and grief.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

He shook his head, blinking A tree…that was a tree. He knew what it was! That was grass...water…hedge? He knew things…how? What was happening to him? What was he? Who was he?

TBC…

So do you all know who the amnesiac is?

A nice long chapter to finish off KH1. Riku's Heartless has been destroyed, Sora and Mickey are locked in the Realm of Darkness, and Kairi, Donald and Goofy are about to head off for a certain Castle, which will be very different since no Naminé.
