Chapter 3: Their Innocence

Camp Carroll

10:30 AM

Absolute chaos.

The PAVN forces, although with some difficulty about some "deranged" claims from PAVN soldiers assaulting the forest north of the road of Camp Carroll about some "American teenage super soldiers" managed to completely break through, threatening the roads to Camp Carroll, and making the possibility of an encirclement more apparent.

The situation immediately deteriorated, American platoons rapidly evacuated the Northern flanks of Route 9 and Camp Carroll as they were surrounded by assaulting PAVN troops in the forest.

The 56th Regiment and 1st Marine Tank Battalion responded by defending the road, just as the rest of the 56th organized a hasty retreat from Camp Carroll.

Then Camp Mai Loc down south fell.

The retreat was less than stellar, as both American and ARVN troops broke in an almost disorganized retreat, with the artillery equipment in Camp Carroll being abandoned.

Now both the 1st Marine Regiment and the 56th are on a fighting retreat to Cam Lo up north on Route 9.

They hope to hold Cam Lo as it can be a part of a defensive line to hold them off from Dong Ha.

And on Cam Lo will be the Battle Weary Angel Company that was Air Lifted hours ago.

They are to fortify Cam Lo as the 56th and 1st Marine Regiment retreats towards it.

The line must Hold

Near Route 9

UH-1 Helicopter, En Route to Cam Lo

Angel Company, 1st Marine Battalion

April 2, 1972 - 10:55 AM

"Welp, this is bad," Serika who was staring at the horizon inside of the helicopter was snapped out from her stupor.

One of the marines, the one holding a peculiarly outdated radio spoke in calm annoyance at something.

"Sarge, new orders from HQ, looks like we're gonna be fighting again in Cam Lo."

This got the attention of all Marines inside, while Serika and Shiroko decided to simply stay silent.

"Waddya mean Jimmy boy?" Alex asked in an irritated tone, "We literally just got out of a firefight!"

"The situation is absolute FUBAR, apparently when we retreated the frontlines defending Route 9 already broke down."

"No wonder we didn't get much reinforcements," Jordan mused.

"Yeah no shit, we we're all so deep in that one, without these girls we would have been all toast," Mike said before looking back at both Serika and Shiroko, who still had no idea at what really is happening.

"Anyways, they said Camp Carroll was in threat of encirclement, while Mai Loc down south fell too. So now the defenders there broke. Fortunately, they didn't get encircled, unfortunately now they're in a desperate fighting retreat back to Cam Lo, which is where we are landing, " Jimmy finished in a calm tone.

"So they want us to help defend Cam Lo?" Jordan asked.

"Right on the money sarge, orders said we gotta dig in and defend it, at least until the 56th and the rest of the 1st reaches it, or the PAVN stops," Jimmy explained.

"This is so different from the VC," Mike mused, "They got tanks and artillery, fuckin hell, and I thought fighting against insurgents was bad."

Jordan looked back at his squad. Originally there were ten of them. Now they're down to practically half. 2 WIA and 3 KIAs.

There were only five of them left in combat condition, him, Alex, Jimmy, Mike and David, the last one still silent.

At least until now, as David spoke, "But there's only five of us left to fight Sarge, are we going to get reinforcements soon?"

Serika and Shiroko listened to the 5 silently, getting glimpses of what was happening.

Apparently, whatever these soldiers are, they are now on a retreat, worse they suffered extreme casualties.

Shiroko simply shuddered at the thought. She can't imagine how painful would it be to lose many of her friends like that.

"Five lost...five...I can't imagine it...losing 3 of your friends to death and 2 more being badly hurt, in just one fight...why? T-they don't deserve this!"

She observed the Marines, even with their gruesome losses, they almost didn't show their pain about it.

"Like they're used to it."

"I doubt we'd get much in reinforcements," Jimmy theorized, "Everything is pretty bad, thousands of casualties, logistics is overloaded, roads are now clogged, hell I doubt civvies can even be evacuated at this point, we got hit with our pants down."

Jordan looked uncomfortable from this news, "What do you mean we can't evac civilians?"

"Almost all helicopters are being used around the clock. This offensive is pretty massive. As I have said, shit has gone FUBAR, I can't imagine how much worse would it be for the ARVN if we didn't intervene."

"Shit," Alex muttered, "The fuck are we gonna do with both of these then?"

Alex pointed his hands to both Serika and Shiroko, "Oh and how are we explaining this shit down there at Cam Lo? 'Uhh sir, we got our asses saved by some teenage superhuman angel with magic or whatever shit' we'd all get section eighted!"

Jordan sighed, he almost forgot.

He still has to explain this shit to his superiors.

Serika, then asked something, "Uhh, a-are we not that common here?"

While according to their reactions, she mused their kind is not normally seen here, she wanted to be sure. Plus she really has no idea if anyone like them exists outside of Kivotos.

Alex chuckled, "No, duh...I think I need a medical evaluation soon. Fuckin hell, I still can't grasp it, actual angels."

And they kept referring to them all as angels, which was strange, well to be fair they were perhaps close to one so she chose to ignore it.

"Well, let's just not bother about the religious and philosophical ramifications of this shit," Mike spoke, "Because that's the kind of thing that will end up turning you crazy, for now though, let's just plan how to get these girls outta here, those behind the line will deal with the rest."

"Bad idea," the Pilot in front of them spoke, besides him his co-pilot nodded in agreement, "If the CIA touches them, it's either you're all toast or their both toast, possibly both."

Jordan mentally slapped himself further. Off course the CIA, the CIA just finding out that they now apparently have 2 superhumans/angels will definitely result in disastrous consequences.

"The spooks will just spook them!"

"Ah dammit! Now we have to deal with the CIA? Are you fucking serious? Man, this month is going to be the worst!" Mike spoke in annoyance, gritting his teeth in concern for both of the teens, and for them, considering they made first contact, the spooks will definitely grill them for every shed or information.

Jordan sensing a decline of morale, spoke, "Alright let's ignore the CIA for now, we'll cross that bridge later, that wouldn't matter for now as we are still in a massive battle."

Serika and Shiroko on the other hand felt uncomfortable about this CIA business, so Shiroko softly asked the Marines, "What exactly is the CIA?"

The Marines simply groaned, except for Alex, who responded, "Very patriotic and good people defending freedom and democracy, but a word of warning, they can get too patriotic and do very grey things in their operations."

Jordan groaned harder, "...His explanation is near."

"No, it's not."

"You see the thing is, because you both apparently exist, they may get too patriotic in handling you..." Mike simply rolled his eyes in annoyance while the pilot simply chuckled at his very vague answer.

"What Jordan is trying to say...is that we have to be very careful at dealing with the CIA. Very shady people, and I don't want to imagine what they'll do to both of you if they get their hands on you. Superhuman or angel or whatever, you have powers that never once existed in this world, and the CIA may do nasty things to gain it."

Shiroko and Serika became even more uneasy about the explanation, and Serika was having none of it. Even Mike's explanation gives more questions than answers.

"What exactly are they?" Serika demanded.

"An intelligence agency, their full name is the Central Intelligence Agency, and they do 'intelligent' stuff," Alex responded.

"...So we have to be careful from them?" Serika further inquired.

"Yes..." came the response from the Marines.

The Pilot sighed in the cockpit, "You can't send them out of here, and you can't keep them here. They're just children in a war zone. Man, you guys have a shitty situation."

"Why do we have to be the one to deal with this shit..." Alex grumbled.

Jimmy then had an idea, "Perhaps we can convince Captain to just hide them for now?"

Jordan considered it. Captain Albert is a man who cared a lot for people. And also easily understands his men. Certainly, he could convince them to hide them for now.

But then Lieutenant McKenzie will probably want to use them on the battlefield. That guy had a 'win at all cost' attitude, and he might only agree to it if they use them.

"Shit, this is bad, very bad. Can this get any worse? Scratch that, it will definitely get worse. I can't simply use them as child soldiers, I mean their strong and all, but...if we evac them, the slimy CIA would get their hands on them. They might chop the girls up just to see how they tick...what the hell did I do to deserve this?"

"Even if we convince Captain, after this battle, it's game over, they're going to the CIA or the government no matter what..." Mike pointed out.

"And we're all assuming we are getting out of this shit alive," Jimmy added in a pessimistic manner, "Everything's gone FUBAR, FSB's up north got abandoned, shit if things go bad we could get encircled if the reports about them pushing to Pedro base down south is true."

"They really caught us with our pants down..." David muttered.

Jordan then spoke, "Alright, again let's just ignore the CIA for now, let's focus on getting out of this shit alive."

Shiroko looked distressed, the way they discussed the CIA sounded like bad news for them. And they're just gonna ignore it?

"W-wait what about us?" Shiroko asked.

"Look, we'll try our best to get you out of here," Jordan responded, "But we need more information, we still have time till we reach Cam Lo, so how exactly did both of you get here, and where are you both from?"

Serika and Shiroko looked at each other, before Shiroko responded, "We're both students from Kivotos, I don't know how I got here, all I did was sleep and then I woke up in this...place."

Serika nodded, "Same with me."

Jordan raised his eyebrow, "Wait you're both students...why are you both armed?"

"For personal defense...plus back in Kivotos people don't...die when they get shot." She responded uneasily.

"And our academies acts as the government and law enforcement in Kivotos," Serika added.

Alex looked confused, "Wait you're both not from heaven?"

"What made you think that?" Serika asked in confusion as well.

"Never mind..." Alex backtracked, so their not angels? What?

Communist infiltrators then? His fingers are getting itchy in the trigger.

"You slept and then woke up here," Mike muttered, "Damn that's awful, but to be fair the world is pretty awful anyway."

"Well crap, I don't know how that could help us," Jordan spoke, "Perhaps if you sleep tonight you'll be back in this Kivotos place."

Serika simply stayed silent, she has no idea how to get back as well, while Shiroko simply mutters besides her, "I hope so...I wanna go home."

"And so for the next song - We gotta get out of this place by the Animals!" The radio broadcasted.

With the discussion ending with a very hopeless conclusion, both Serika and Shoriko simply listened to the cheerful tune.

And they both could only agree to one thing after the song ended.

"We gotta get out of this place."

Cam Lo Airspace

11:00 AM

Angel 1 Arrival

"Alright ladies, we're here, shits gon be out the bag soon Sarge...hope you can give them a good explanation about this shit...good luck out there." the Pilot said as he landed the Huey.

"Good luck to you too, careful from the AA," Jordan responded.

"Aight."

Besides them, more Hueys landed carrying the wounded and the rest of Angel 1 platoon.

As Jordan and his men stepped out, there Captain Albert and Lieutenant McKenzie of the first platoon waited.

And then the Kivotos students stepped out, following Angel 1-3.

"Sergeant Jordan..." Lieutenant McKenzie spoke while looking at Jordan "And Sergeant Lee," he added as Dennis moved towards the duo.

"So, both of you had half of your entire Squads dead?" McKenzie asked.

"...Yeah, and we would be all dead if not for..." Jordan looked to his right, where Serika and Shiroko showed themselves.

"...Hello?" Shiroko uttered as both men froze while staring at them.

"..."

"..."

"...these girls, they're, how do I put this...pretty superhuman," Jordan added.

"...Sergeant Jordan," McKenzie spoke in bewilderment, "Is this a joke or has the world really gone to shit and gone crazy now?"

"I have no time for jokes sir, that much I can tell...which means it's the latter."

Dennis nodded besides him, "They're the real deal sir, that I can confirm, tough girls as well, ate a shit ton of 7.62's, didn't even scratch 'em. They tore through a platoon of Charlie's to save our collective asses with magic I think. My men can confirm."

The Marines nodded in confirmation.

"So...their angels?"

"Students...we're just students from Kivotos," Shiroko clarified.

"What in the holy hell are two teenage angel students doing with a gun in the middle of Vietnam?" McKenzie asked.

"Worse, Quang Tri is literally in the middle of Vietnam."

"Sir, they appeared here out of nowhere, apparently they slept, and then boom, they have been cursed to be in Vietnam, about the guns well their explanation is still quite confusing," Jordan responded.

Captain Albert looked at both of them, before sighing, "1st platoon is already cut in half, and we have to deal with this...I presume you have all thought about the ramifications and consequences of their existence?"

"Yes sir, CIA or the government would want them," Jordan replied.

"Yes, so keep your lips sealed for now, we can't be too reckless in this situation men. This is basically a first contact with an alien, and we are in the middle of the battlefield, for now, keep them safe behind the lines."

McKenzie then had an idea, "If what these guys are saying is true, then how about we use them for now?"

Jordan and most marines immediately frowned in disgust at this, "W-what, you're asking children to fight?"

"Well, what options do they have? Plus if they saved you and mowed down a platoon of Charlie, they already did it." McKenzie countered.

Serika and Shoriko looked uneasy at this, while Jordan tried to find a retort, a sudden commotion interrupted them.

"Ahh! Koharu I told you to be careful!" Turning around, 2 more Kivotos students were spotted, and they both just clumsily boxes of rations.

"Son of a..." McKenzie cursed at the scene.

"Koharu? Hifumi? W-wait you're both here too?" Serika exclaimed as she ran towards the two who were now standing up from the mess.

"Wait, you both know them?" Jordan asked. Off course, they know each other, must be a student thing.

"Countermeasures Committee?" Hifumi asked, "Serika! We just woke up out of nowhere, and then there were these adults everywhere!"

"Why in the hell is a buncha teenage angels popping out of nowhere in the middle of Nam'?" McKenzie asked as he ran towards the trio.

"H-hey, it's not our fault we ended up in this noisy place!" Koharu rebutted as artillery rumbled in the distance.

"And who are these adults anyways?" Koharu continued.

Jordan looked at both, one looked like your average schoolgirl but with a halo, and the other one actually had wings.

Worst, they now have four to deal with, four children that they have to get out of this shithole.

"Hey funny man upstairs, so what's your gameplan? Sending your child messengers here on a battlefield for no reason, are you trying to amuse yourself? Because this is not very amusing." Jordan thought.

"A-and why is that adult looking at me funny!? I can defend myself you know!" Koharu shouted at McKenzie, who was to be fair staring at her wings intensely.

"A flying bulletproof angel, with magic according to my platoon, oh my, the military applications! God is really on our side it seems!" McKenzie thought.

"H-hey Hifumi, he's really creeping me out..." Koharu said in distress as she moved towards her friend.

"Eh, ignore that guy, El-Tee is probably fantasizing about your combat capabilities," Mike walked forward towards the group.

"Shut up Corporal," McKenzie responded.

"Aye aye, whatever sir," suddenly a cheery voice interrupted them, the radio on a nearby table cracked.

"And for our next song - It came out of the Sky by CCR!"

The cheerful tune played in the background as the group continued their discussion, before they decided to introduce themselves.

"So...these adults are soldiers...and we are in a warzone?" Hifumi asked uneasily.

Captain Albert nodded, "That's the gist of it, but don't worry, we're going to try our best to keep you guys away from the frontlines and the government, at least until we can form a better solution."

Koharu frowned, "But I don't wanna be here," she complained as another artillery rumbled in the distance, "I wanna go home!"

"We really have nothing better, I-I'm sorry girls...I'm gonna have to excuse myself, we still need to fortify this town, at least as best as we can for now," Captain Albert said as he left them.

They came to a simple conclusion, keep them with Angel 1-3 and 1-2 for now, at least until the Battle of Quang Tri ends. Plus they would be safer with soldiers anyways, as the PAVN isn't exactly being friendly to evacuating civilians right now, and then there's the CIA and Uncle Sam, it would be a nasty problem if they are caught by both with their pants down.

"So uhh...we just keep them hidden," Mike asked, "That's gonna be a bit, hard...eh whatever, I doubt anyone would notice, we're in a battle."

"Well I guess that's our temporary solution," Serika said, before she went to the group of Marines, and bowed, "Please take care of us."

Jordan smiled to reassure them, "I promise, we'll do our best to get you guys out of here, if not, keep you safe."

The students simply meekly nodded, before grouping together to discuss their plans, while the soldiers moved on and left them for now in their quarters.

"That's so horrible!" Hifumi exclaimed as she listened to artillery, "T-their killing each other!"

"I don't understand it as well..." Serika fearfully mutters, "They still haven't explained why they even fight."

Shiroko kept silent, not wanting to remember the horrible memories in the forest, while Koharu meekly kept her ears covered.

"Why is it so noisy?!"

Route 9

01:00 PM

1st Marine Regiment, 56th ARVN Regiment

The retreat was being slower than expected. Tanks and APCs continued to fight in delaying actions as the rest of the Infantry retreated.

Soldiers and Vehicles filled the road to Cam Lo, with PAVN artillery hitting them occasionally.

The North Vietnamese is getting relentless, but the US Marines and the ARVN are fighting back.

But will it be enough?

FSB's is already getting abandoned around Quang Tri, in Dong Ha, the bridge was already planned to be destroyed to prevent capture.

The Easter Offensive goes on, but if there's one silver lining in this Battle, the 56th Regiment successfully evaded encirclement in Camp Carroll due to Angel and Bravo Companies delaying the PAVN attack on Route 9 from the north earlier in the morning.

Perhaps, there will be a chance to turn the tide of the battle.

Cam Lo

05:00 PM

1st Marine Battalion, Angel Company

Hifumi watched the soldiers entering the town in silence. They were walking down the road, with tanks, trucks, and APC's.

For the past few hours, they secured a small room for themselves, overlooking the road of Route 9 and its entrance to Cam Lo.

Their accommodations were alright, though definitely not as good in Kivotos.

They also noted that this strange new world has a less advanced technology.

But what was more infuriating was the fact that they are fighting and killing each other.

It was just so wrong!

"Look at them Koharu! Some of them are so badly injured, can you help them?"

Hifumi asked as she looked at the men coming from battle.

"I-I can't, their Captain said we have to hide," Koharu responded sadly, as she herself wanted to help the poor men.

Mike, who was keeping watch of them, decided to intervene.

"Uhh...girls, can you guys just, close the windows for now?" He didn't really want them to see artillery, gunshot, and burn victims.

But that was inevitable.

Still, it would be nice to delay it a bit.

"I still don't understand why you guys fight?" Hifumi said as she closed the windows and left it, before sitting near Mike.

"To be honest, we don't think much about it, though I would say that we Americans are here to help our South Vietnamese allies."

"Help them for what exactly? Why is this North Vietnam and South Vietnam fight and kill each other? Can't they just talk peacefully?"

"I-I am sorry, but that's just not how-"

"Not how the world works, that's just what all of you adults keeps on telling us! And I don't want to believe it. It's bad, people shouldn't kill each other."

"It's bad, I know, it's just sadly, we can't do anything about it. It's war."

"I don't like war..." Koharu muttered as she sat.

Artillery continued to rumble in the distance, and it was getting too close for comfort.

"Trust me girls, we don't like it either.

...

"So how do we get back to Kivotos?" Shiroko asked Serika as she continued pacing back in forth.

"I-I don't know, this is so confusing, maybe sleeping would work..."

Jordan and Jimmy watched both discuss how to get back. As for them their simply playing some chess.

They already finished fortifying the town as best as they could. As of now elements of the 56th and the 1st have been arriving in Cam Lo. Up on Route 9, the Dong Ha bridge was destroyed by the ARVN.

Their planning to do the same in Cam Lo, but the ARVN troops are still crossing it for their retreat, so that was out of the option.

At least until it's not.

Jimmy's king now has no escape from him.

Checkmate.

Jordan smirked at Jimmy, who simply groaned at his defeat.

"2-2, tie I guess," Jordan muttered as both of them looked back at the angelic duo.

"I guess, eh whatever, so...what do you think about all of this?" Jimmy asked as Jordan raised his eyebrow.

"What do you mean?"

"About all of this, you know us being redeployed in this Battle, then meeting these angel students whatever, all this."

"Hmm...it's weird, but it's Nam' so it should be expected," Jordan responded, "I'm still unsure how we can keep them away from the government or the CIA after all of this is over."

"To be fair, can the CIA really do something about them if they are truly invincible?"

"While we see that they can block bullets, we haven't seen them block a tank shell or artillery, and I'd rather not find out."

Jimmy hummed in agreement. So far they haven't really 'got to know' each other, aside from some information, the Marines and Students we're still...pretty distant.

Though that's to be expected, the Students were in an unfamiliar and hostile environment, while the Marines is dealing with the unknown.

So Jordan tried to talk.

"So uhh...have you guys found a way to get back home?" He asked, Serika looked at him, but simply frowned.

"Nope."

"That's bad, so uhh, well what do you guys think about our world?" He continued, hoping to get a glimpse of what they thought.

Serika huffed, "This world is bad, we don't like this place. We need to get back home."

Jimmy had to admit, that hurt. He was still a proud earthling no matter what. I mean they reached the moon back then. That has to be something. And this is just Vietnam, not all of the world!

"Can't exactly disagree with that, Vietnam is pretty much on the top of the worst places in this world nowadays, but I assure you, the world is no Vietnam."

Shiroko then asked something, "You guys are not from Vietnam right?"

"Yes, we're Americans."

"What exactly is America?"

"The most powerful and prosperous country in the world, the beacon of freedom and democracy," Alex emerged from the door and began boasting, getting a slight groan from both Jordan and Jimmy.

"Then why are you guys out here?" Shiroko asked.

"To help our South Vietnamese allies," Jimmy responded.

"That's what you guys keeps on saying, but help them on what exactly?"

"The North Vietnamese is invading them, so naturally we have to help," Jordan responded.

"And why are they invading?" She pressed on, determined to get to the bottom of this strange conflict.

Jordan winced, deciding to give a vague answer, he spoke, "You see, Vietnam was once one, but disagreements happened and they got split into two, now the one on the north wants the one on the south to agree with them and become one again."

Jimmy just died internally from his answer.

"I still don't understand," Shiroko said.

"You won't, trust me, it gets even more confusing, but that's just how our world is really, a confusing mess."

"Kinda like Kivotos, except worse," Serika muttered.

"Eh, if what you guys said is true, that you guys can't die, it's definitely less worse, I guess..." Jordan said, imagining a futuristic world ruled by apparently immortal students.

Is that a utopia?

Perhaps compared to Earth, it is.

Serika looked at the Marines in a distrustful way. They always kept giving them very vague answers.

As if they're trying to hide the ugly truth from them.

But what is there to hide when they already saw what was happening on the ground?

Koharu and Hifumi both entered the room, including Mike.

The Marines looked at each other, as David arrived in their place, opening the door he makes an announcement.

"Guys, El-Tee said we gotta go to our positions now, PAVN stopped chasing the 56th and the 1st, their probably preparing to assault Cam Lo," the man said panting.

The Marines looked at each other grimly, while Jordan simply looked at the confused girls with concern.

Cam Lo is next.

Cam Lo

12:00 AM, April 3, 1972

Angel Company, 1st Marine Battalion

The men stared in the distance from their fortified positions, the sounds of war has now stopped. Tanks and APCs silently waited for their prey.

It was a tense anticipation of a PAVN attack, for the entire day Cam Lo was refortified by the elements of the 1st Marine Battalion and the B-Company of the 1st Tank Battalion.

The ARVN already retreated from the line, as they had to hold the Cam Lo River.

The Americans are to hold Cam Lo base for as long as possible, as a new defensive line was set up from the Pedro FSB and the thick forest up north of it up to the Cam Lo river and Route 9.

The town of Cam Lo itself lies on a flat land, and is an overextended position for the already stretched thin ARVN and Marine forces.

But the defensive line has to be set up first. And so the Marines in Cam Lo will temporarily hold it to delay the PAVN.

And it's working, the PAVN is hesitant at attacking at night on a town without artillery.

And since Cam Lo lies in a flat area, a night attack is impossible. They would be mowed down without artillery.

For now, the Battle is on pause, and the Coalition has bought itself some time to prepare its defenses for Dong Ha.

With the bridges on Cam Lo already destroyed, the PAVN will only attack in one place.

Route 9.

And the attack will inevitably come tomorrow.

Inside one of the buildings in the town, 4 students slept uncomfortably, most of them still frightened and horrified from what they have seen.

One of them mumbles in her sleep.

"Mm-is not me-fault, iz not-mhmurderer." The cat girl's face crumpled in a guilt-stricken face.

They slept in the hopes of getting back home.

But fate says otherwise.

For tomorrow awaits.

Author's Notes:

Well, there you go, added Hifumi and Koharu (now we have a healer! Crap, and I don't know how to implement it, plus the Hifumi's Peroro, whatever, I'll burn that bridge later) also both of these angels will be the last additions on Vietnam.

In any case, the Battle of Quang Tri has already changed, the actions of Angel Company has allowed the 56th to evade encirclement in Camp Carroll (historically they got encircled and surrendered) so yeah, things are changed. Next up on the list is the Battle of Cam Lo, where Angel Company and other elements of the 1st Marine Regiment will do a delaying action.

And our OC's and Students will be in this almost sacrificial battle.

Also addressing the comments.

CrappyIdiots, while what you're proposing is enticing, it sounds too ambitious for a beginner like me, and way outside the scope of what I intend to write. Spoilers ahead, this fic is supposed to be more of a Kivotos sees Vietnam, not Vietnam sees Kivotos, which is what would end up happening if I add too much BA stuff, like Raid Bosses or the Gematria. Also about extending the war, no the war wont be extended, this is mainly just a Battle of Quang Tri alt history but with angels, and I plan it to be a draw in the end. Also about the 4 Kivotos students, their not really going to be staying in Nam' for long and their numbers is too low to really affect anything outside of Angel Company, again spoilers I intend for them to get back home in the end of the fic, most likely in the end of the Battle of Quang Tri. How I'm not gonna tell but yes they will be back home.

The question is...can they stay sane until then?

There's also a reason why I would really only cover Quang Tri and the 4 student and their adventure and struggles here, I want the scope to be limited so this fic doesn't end up becoming too ambitious and then be left unfinished.

And so I'm addressing the next guest comment, about Lost Battalion, it will be on temporary hiatus until I guess I finish this one, compared to this it's scope is bigger, more ambitious, and thus needs more writing experience, which I would gain from this fic. So yes it will be inevitably continued after this.

Also this fic is now available in wattpad. I don't know why I added it there but whatever, might also add it on AO3.
