Quidditch Vs Quidditch

"I still not ride broom?" Pansy asked as she fiddled with the yellow scarf that had been wrapped loosely around her neck. Though it was early spring there was still a chill in the air and the last thing Harry or Hermione wanted was for one of the toddlers to fall ill.

Harry had disappeared earlier in the morning and had returned with a handful of scarves and hats with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff symbols.

"No Pansy you're still not going to ride a broom," said Hermione as she placed a blue hat on Draco's head.

Blaise reached for the yellow hat and pushed it down on to his head, the hat covered his eyes and he giggled at the sudden lack of vision. Turning her head Hermione laughed at Blaise and raised the hat so he could see once again. His dark skin suited the yellow ensemble and he reached for a hug. Hermione wrapped her arms around Blaise giving him a tight squeeze before she let go to button up his coat.

She reached for her own blue and bronze hat and scarf, today she would be supporting the Ravenclaw team while Harry would side with the Hufflepuffs; the only reason for their siding was so each of the toddlers had one of them on their side. Once dressed for the weather the group of five left the common room and they marched down to the Quidditch pitch. The grounds were busy and Harry and Hermione quickly reached for a child's hand, though the toddlers weren't happy about this they quickly grew silent the nearer they go to the Quidditch stands.

"Mione, I never been anywhere this busy!" said Draco throwing up his free arm to extenuate his point. "There people everywhere!"

"Yup, which is why you are holding my hand. We don't to lose you in that big crowd do we?" Draco shook his head furiously and gripped Hermione's hand tighter.

"Hermione, Harry!" at the sounds of their names, the duo turned around to see Ginny and Luna coming towards them, they stood and waited for them to get nearer.

"Who are they?" Pansy asked pulling on Harry's hand for attention. Reaching down Harry brought Pansy to his chest.

"The girl with the red hair is Ginny, she's Fred, George, Charlie and Ron's sister."

"Oh yeah, she's the fire girl!"

Harry laughed but nodded, "the blonde girl next to her is Luna."

"She looks like Draco!" Pansy cried, and she was right. He'd never seen it before but Luna and Draco did look alike, it obviously had something to do with their hair colour and the paleness of their skin.

"Draco look, that girl looks like you!" Pansy shouted down to him.

With the idea of someone looking like him, Draco pulled Hermione's arm. "Up, me see, me see the girl."

"She's coming here, give her a minute and you'll be able to look at her all you want," laughed Hermione.

"Ginny, Luna hey!" Hermione greeted, quickly giving them both a hug. "You remember Draco, Blaise and Pansy right," she winked and the two sixth year girls nodded.

"Of course we do, I've heard a lot about your three from my big brothers." Said Ginny crouching down, "I've heard you're little monkeys."

"Only Draco," said Blaise pointing at his blonde friend.

"Oi, I no monkey!" he snapped and familiar Malfoy scowl appeared on his face but he'd yet to master the intimidating nature of it and the girls grinned at how cute he was. "I really no monkey, just a little bit naughty sometimes."

"Well at least you're honest," said Ginny tapping the end of Draco's nose with her finger.

"Are you ready to watch the Quidditch game," Luna asked softly smiling down at the two boys." Draco stared back up at her his head cocked to one side.

"You do look like me!" Draco declared a few seconds later.

Luna smiled down at him and nodded her head, "we do, aren't we lucky to have someone that we look like," Draco nodded and he reached for Luna's hand. Without a second thought Luna took hold of Draco's little hand and they walked to the grand stand.

"I'm glad you wrapped them up Harry, the Womplestomps can be terrible for children at this time of year." Said Luna and Harry simply nodded.

"What's a wompleystomp?" Pansy asked from Harry's arms, "and can I have one?"

"Womplestomps are small green creatures that survive in the colder months, they bite your ears and nose and they turn them red. You must heat your body to keep them from biting you."

Pansy simply stared at Luna, she blinked a few times soaking in the information she'd heard before turning to Harry, she quickly glanced back at Luna to see she was talking to Hermione before reaching towards Harry's head. "Harry, the Draco girl is loopy!" Harry had to stop himself from laughing at Pansy's words.

In a way, he agreed with her. The creatures Luna spoke of were out of the ordinary, and even he found it difficult to believe half of what Luna said but for all of this she was the nicest person he'd ever met, he told Pansy all of this and the small girl looked back at her.

"I guess it better to be loopy that a bully!" she said with a nod. "Bullies are mean they make people cry for fun!"

"Promise me something Pansy. When you get big, try and be a little like Luna, yeah. You be as nice to everyone as you can, and don't ever be a bully."

"I promise Harry, I'll be like loopy Luna." He brought a finger up to his lips to silence her, but he caught Luna's eye and she smiled at him.

"There is good inside of us all, for some it take a remarkable person to make the goof shine out." They quickly reached a spot in the stands where all three toddlers could see the action. After a few more minutes the familiar Irish accent of Seamus Finnegan blasted across the ground as the players flew on to the field, flashes of yellow and blue swarmed above them.

"Look blue and yellow birdies," Blaise cried out pointing to the brooms above them.

"Not birdies kiddo, people on broomsticks." Explained Ginny kneeling next to him. "And you are on my team." She said pointing to the yellow scarf around her neck. Blaise's eyes widened and he grinned.

"Go the yellow birdy people thingies!" he semi-shouted.

Ginny laughed beside him, "You can call them birdies if you want, but the yellow ones have to win. You and me, Pansy and Harry are supporting the yellow team but Hermione, Draco and Luna are supporting the blue team." She explained but frowned when Blaise's face fell.

"But I wanna be on Mione's team?"

"Aww, but I want you to be on my team," said Ginny purposely sticking her lip out.

"Okay, I be on your team." Blaise said as he turned to face the players on the brooms.

The two Captains shook hands and Madam Hooch through the Quaffle into the air and the game began, Hufflepuff were the first to score but a nasty, early hit to the shoulder from a Bludger knocked one of their three chasers to the ground. He laid crumpled on the ground and the game continued overhead as Madam Pomfrey rushed onto the ground, a stretcher floating magically behind her. The fall had knocked the sixth year unconscious.

"He gonna be okay?" Pansy asked as she stared at the boy laid on the ground, her eyes were as wide as a Quaffle and she'd taken a few steps back. Fear was written across her face and Hermione suddenly regretted the idea of bringing them here.

Noticing the others were preoccupied with the game and not Pansy Hermione leant down and wrapped her arms around Pansy's waist. She pulled the small girl towards her and felt her relax upon the contact.

"He's going to be okay, Madam Pomfrey is down there and she makes sure everybody gets better again. Quidditch can be very dangerous but everyone who plays it know the risks." She explained softly. "I don't like flying, I'm afraid of heights so playing Quidditch would be terrifying for me but Harry and Ginny both play for Gryffindor."

"Harry and Ginny ever had a big boo boo?" Pansy asked quietly.

"Harry broke his arm a few years ago, and he's fallen unconscious but if you look at him now you wouldn't know that would you?" Pansy shook her head but her eyes looked him up and down a few times.

"And Ginny?"

"Yup, she broke a rib when a Bludger hit her in the side and she fell off the broom."

"And she doesn't look poorly like that boy down there," she said. "Eh, he gone!"

"Yup Madam Pomfrey has taken him back to the hospital so he can better quicker. She doesn't want to be down there if another boy or girl falls down, she might get hurt and what will we do if our Mediwitch gets hurt?"

"We'd be in big trouble then Hermione," Hermione nodded and pressed a soft kiss on to Pansy's head.

The two of them stepped closer so Pansy could once again see. After another two goals scored she seemed to relax and Hermione allowed herself to watch the game. She smiled as Draco and Blaise groaned when their opposing teams scored and cheered when their supporting team scored. They'd absorbed the life of Quidditch instantly and though it pleased her to see them enjoying themselves she could clearly remember Harry telling her about the previous Slytherin Vs Ravenclaw game where Blaise had been hit hard in the shoulder and had fallen off his bruise. The same incident that had happened today had happened to her little Blaise, the healed bruises on his collarbone where once evidence of his injury.

Was the thrill of flying so consuming that they desired to play Quidditch or was it the excitement and the element of danger that attracted them to the sport? It was one thing Hermione didn't know the answer too, she'd had too much danger in her life and for excitement, well she'd rather just read a good book.

"Hermione, our team is winning!" Draco cried as the Chaser for Ravenclaw threw the Quaffle through the centre hoop.

"Yay!" Hermione clapped.

"But our team will win right Blaise," said Ginny who nudged her new friend. Since the game had started Blaise hadn't moved from Ginny's side. The little Italian nodded his head and turned back towards the game.

"When I get bigger, I gonna do that!" Said Blaise pointing to the players. "I catch the ball and throw it in the holes."

"You go for it! I think you'll be really good at it, almost as good as me."

"You play Ginny?" he asked amazed. Ginny nodded and went on to explain her position and her many goals.

Blaise ran to Hermione and pulled at her trousers. "Hermione, I gonna be like Ginny when I get bigger and throw the Quaffle thingy into those big hoops and get lots of points." He said and Hermione smiled.

"I bet you'll be the best Chaser ever!" said Hermione looking up to Harry who was grinning beside him.

"I play it too!" said Draco, "I be better than Blaise!"

"No, I be better than you," Blaise argued back with a scowl on his face.

"Draco, you don't want to be a Chaser you want to be a seeker." Said Harry and it instantly caught Draco's attention. Harry waved Draco over and pointed to Cho Chang who was busy flying higher than everyone else.

"You see that girl up there?" Draco nodded. "Her name is Cho Chang and she is the Ravenclaw Chaser, it's her job to look for the Golden Snitch. A tiny gold winged ball that is worth a total of 150 points. It's the Seekers job to locate and catch this ball, once the ball has been caught then the game has ended and all those 150 points will go straight to the winning team's total. That's the position I play for my house."

"I play that instead and be like you, I fly and get the gold ball and win all the points!" said Draco and from behind Hermione shook her head, only Harry Potter could persuade Draco to play the Seeker position, a position she sometimes wondered if Draco had ever regretted choosing but it was a good job Draco wasn't a Beater in his school days, his mini self seemed to have his heart set on becoming a Seeker.

A few minutes later Seamus cried out the snitch had been seen and the group watched transfixed as Cho and Ernie Macmillian zoomed after one another. "Hermione, I still wanna ride a broom," said Blaise as he watched Ernie reach out. "It looks really fast."

"Yup and that's why you're not going on one, wait until you're older." She said and Blaise groaned.

"Time works in a silly way, you'll be older before you know it," said Luna smiling sweetly at Blaise who still looked down hearted. "Don't you worry little one, I promise one day you'll go to bed feeling young and the next morning you will be far older."

"Really?" Blaise asked looking directly up at Luna.

"Really," she and Blaise smiled but Blaise's smile was quickly wiped off his face as Cho reached to grab the Snitch, she'd managed to pass Ernie and get that little bit closer to the Snitch. Madam Hooch blew her whistle and Seamus Finnegan went crazy over the speaker, the score 70 to 220 to the Ravenclaw house, it put them in the lead for the Quidditch cup.

"Looks like Ravenclaw is the team to beat this year," said Harry with a small frown on his face, so far Ravenclaw had won both its games against Slytherin and Hufflepuff. He'd have to practice incredibly hard to catch the Snitch, Cho seemed to be on her game this year.

The players landed on the ground and headed towards their changing room, Hermione and Harry decided now was a good time to leave as the Ravenclaws were still celebrating loudly in the stands. Ginny, Hermione and Harry each scooped a child in to their arms and bid farewell to Luna who went to join her house.

They quickly made their way out from the hectic stands, Draco cheering loudly that his team had won the game. They passed several people who smiled at the small blondes antics, gushing over how cute he was.

It took them another five minutes but they were finally free from the crowds, Blaise and Pansy didn't seem too bothered that their team had lost, they were too busy talking over one another about the different things they'd seen. Blaise was still desperate to be a Chaser and Draco couldn't stop talking about how he was going to be a Seeker and score the winning 150 points. Pansy was just grateful that nobody else had been too badly hurt and she wasn't forced onto a broomstick.

"Right you three, I'm going now. I don't know when I'll next see you but promise me you'll all be good tonight yeah?" Draco, Blaise and Pansy nodded their heads.

"We be good." Draco told Pansy, "promise, well promise to be good if no bath." Draco said and he looked back at Harry and Hermione smiling cheekily.

Harry and Hermione both laughed but they nodded. "No bath tonight," Harry said and the trio of toddlers cheered.
They each gave Ginny a hug goodbye, before Ginny turned to Harry and Hermione with a sad smile. "I'll miss them when they return tomorrow, can't imagine how you're both feeling about this."

"Gutted. Be it's for the best you know, after all they're teenagers they can't stay like this forever." Said Harry with a shrug, but the thought of them changing back to normal was slowly starting to bother him. He looked to Hermione and he could see her eyes were filling with tears. He laced his fingers with hers and gave her hand a quick squeeze.

Hermione smiled at both Harry and Ginny before ushering the toddlers inside the castle. "You think she'll be alright?" Ginny asked as they watched Hermione go.

"Eventually, she's become too attached. It think it'll crush her when they return especially if things return to how they used to be."

"I so hope things change, Professor Snape said they'll remember all of this right?" Harry nodded and Ginny smiled, "so maybe things will change, they'll need time to adjust and accept but I do think things will turn out for the best, you'll see."

"I hope you're right Ginny, I really do."

Finally, I started this months ago but I just couldn't get into it and then yesterday I sat down and tried to focus on it and I quite like it, though it was going to originally be longer but I've decided to add that to the next chapter instead, so we get a little more toddler action for the next chapter. Really wanted to include both Ginny and Luna in this one, though I did forget Ron aha.

I've really appreciated all the reviews and the last review hit the astounding 500 mark! I can't actually believe how many people have reviewed this. The favourites and alerts have also shot up so I'm really touched. Hopefully you'll enjoy this chapter, and still adore those little Monkey's as much as I do.
