Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter

Goodbye Little Ones

Pansy giggled and she kicked her legs under the table as she watched Hermione paint her finger nails a bright pink. Her mummy never let her wear nail varnish but Hermione was allowing her tonight.

"You gonna paint your fingers?" Pansy asked as Hermione screwed the lid back on to the bottle.

"Spread your fingers and keep your hands on the table so you don't smudge them," Hermione instructed before blowing warm air on to the drying varnish. "And I don't know, I don't really wear nail varnish," Hermione admitted. She only owned three bottles; a pink, a red and a clear and those only went on her feet when she could be bothered to paint them.

"Aww, you paint yours pink and we match then," Pansy said wiggling her fingers on the table.

Hermione looked at Pansy's beaming smile and sighed, she'd be a teenager tomorrow so why not humour her while she was young. With a wave of her wand Hermione dried the varnish on Pansy's fingers, she sealed them with a spell which would stop more varnish from going on her finger and slipped the bottle of pink nail varnish over to her.

"Why don't you paint my nails for me?" Pansy grinned and Hermione helped her unscrew the lid. She laid her hands towards Pansy and grinned as Pansy suddenly picked the brush and coated the top of her finger.

"Oops," Pansy muttered with a frown. Hermione grabbed a piece of tissue and Pansy wiped away the mess, though the colour still stained her fingers Hermione bit her lip to keep quiet as Pansy continued to paint her nails.

Her tongue poked out from the corner of her mouth as she concentrated hard on the task in front of her. Painting nails was hard Pansy had discovered, she had lost count on how many times the nail varnish coated Hermione's finger as well as her nail but every time she looked up Hermione was smiling so she continued; she had to be doing something right.

"Done!" Pansy cried after finishing the last finger. Hermione forced a smile on to her face as she stared at her painted fingers. Pansy had tried and she could see that but she'd never be letting a child paint her nails again.

She waved her wand to dry them and Pansy slipped out of her seat calling for Harry. She entered the living room, she could see Draco playing with the cars on the floor and Blaise was sat on the sofa with a packet of coloured pencils and a book to use them in, but she couldn't see Harry. She toddled over to the stairs and crawled up them by using her hands and feet.

"Harry!" she cried and he poked his head out of the bedroom. "Found you!" she sprinted towards his room and jumped up to him, he caught her in a swift move and threw her in to the air. She squealed at the start but she laughed when she wrapped her hands around his neck.

"What's up kiddo," he asked as they entered his bedroom, he was slowly packing his clothes ready for the move back to his dorm after the Slytherins returned from being toddlers.

"Look," she held out her hands and he admired her nails. "I did Mione's too!" she informed. "You think them pretty?"

"Beautiful!" he told her kissing the side of her head. "Beautiful nails on a beautiful little girl." Pansy giggled.

"What you doing?"

"I'm packing some stuff up," he told her and winced as her face exploded in horror.

"Where you going?" she asked, she reached for his top and clutched it into her closed fists.

"Nowhere yet, I won't be going anywhere until you get older little lady so don't you panic," Pansy nodded but still held tightly to Harry, with a sigh he uncurled her fist and sat her down on the bed. "You going to help me?" Pansy studied him for a minute before she nodded her head.

Downstairs Hermione leant against the doorway silently watching the two boys, tomorrow morning would see the end of this and she blinked a few times to hide the tears. As much as she adored Pansy she would undoubtable miss both Blaise and Draco the most, from the first day they had met as 1st years there had been a connection between her and Draco, so it hadn't been an amicable one but there had always been a pull towards one another and she knew Draco felt the same way. Blaise was a different story, she'd seen him around school and until recently she'd never spoken to him but she had eavesdropped on Lavender's conversations enough to know how many girls found him attractive, she included but now, now she couldn't forget how cute he was, how cute they both were.

"What you drawing sweetie?" Hermione asked as she neared Blaise, he looked up for a second before turning back to his picture. She took the seat beside him and peered at the picture in the book.

"That you," he said pointing to the picture of the brown haired stick figure with bushy brown hair.

"You drawing a picture of me?" she said running her fingers through his dark hair.

Blaise nodded and continued to draw a smaller stick figure beside her, she watched silently as he added brown hair and shorts to the little stick figure.

"Who is that?" she asked pointing to the little stick figure.

"That me," he told her and she smiled.

She continued to watch him draw for a little longer, before she turned her head keeping an eye on what Draco was doing. He was talking to himself as he crawled along the floor with his blue car in his hand.

"Hermione," Blaise said drawing her attention back on to him. "This picture is for you for when I grow big overnight so you don't forget me." He handed Hermione the picture and she smiled sadly down at him.

"What makes you think you are going to grow big over night?" she asked him wondering if he could feel the change coming.

"The Draco girl said I would get bigger overnight. So if it happens tomorrow then you can have the picture to remember me."

"I don't need a picture to remember you by sweetheart but I will cherish it forever." She said taking the picture out of Blaise's hand.

He placed his note book on to the sofa beside him and reached up for Hermione. She took his outstretched arms and placed him on her knee holding him closely to her chest. Blaise wrapped his arms around Hermione's neck and rested his head against her chest.

"What's a matter little man?"

"I don't wanna grow big," he said quietly and Hermione frowned.

"Why not Mister,"

"Don't wanna leave you," he said quietly and Hermione sighed. She tightened her hold on him and rocked him gently in her arms.

"Just because you'll get bigger doesn't mean you'll leave me. You don't leave your mummy and daddy when you get bigger do you?" Blaise seemed to think about it for a little while before he shook his head.

"No but I'll be going home to mummy and daddy soon yeah?" he asked and she nodded.

"Afraid so buddy." He nodded slightly and flopped down on to his bum, Hermione turned him around, so his back was resting against her chest. She returned her arms around his waist and rested her head on to his.

"I miss mummy and daddy," he declared resting his head against her breasts as he played with her fingers. "But I miss you and Harry too," he said looking back up to her.

"I'll miss you too, very much so as well."

"But I gotta go home to mummy don't I?"

Hermione held back the tears and she nodded, "I'm afraid you will do eventually," it wasn't as though he would be going home but he would be changing for good, he'd no longer be young and sweet, she'd no longer be able to place him on her knee and give him a cuddle, her little Blaise would be gone for good.

"Draco have hug too?" he'd seen Blaise cuddling up to Hermione and had abandoned the toy cars on the floor and had run around the sofa for his own cuddles. Wordlessly Hermione pulled Draco on to her knee and hugged him to her chest.

"I've been thinking boys, tonight we put Pansy in with you two and you can pretend you're having a sleepover."

"I don't want Pansy in there," Draco said shaking his head with a frown. "I already have to share with Blaise." Hermione chuckled and stroked his blonde hair, she could see Blaise out of the corner of her eye and he was scowling at Draco.

"I'd rather have Pansy then Draco," admitted Blaise with a nod of his head. "Draco snores."

"I don't snore!" defended Draco angrily and Hermione slipped her hand over both of their mouths.

"Stop arguing you little buggers," both boys turned to look at Hermione, they had matching scowls on their faces and she suddenly burst out laughing, instead of being intimidating they were adorable. She released their mouths and brought them closer, tightening her hold on them terrified to let them go.

"Mione, tell Blaise I don't snore." She had to bite her lip as the blonde did snore. She had discovered this the night the storm had hit the school and both boys had curled up beside of her shaking with fear.

A few hours later Harry was cursing Hermione's wise idea of transferring Pansy's bed into the boys room. He'd foolishly gone about the move the Muggle way, he'd taken the bed apart rather easily but now he was sitting on the floor of the boy's room, with Hermione laughing behind him as he angrily stabbed a screw into the wooden panels. The trio were stood beside Hermione all frowning, not quite understanding what was going on and why Harry had seemed so annoyed.

"Hermione, I gonna have a bed tonight?" asked Pansy as she stared at the wooden panels scattered around the floor.

"I hope so kiddo," she was enjoying Harry's struggle far more than she was supposed to.

"This was a bad idea," stated Blaise with a frown and Harry nodded, casting Hermione another glare.

"Do you think I could put it together with just magic?" Harry suddenly asked and Hermione nodded a smirk once famous on the face of Draco Malfoy graced her own and Harry cursed Hermione under his breath.

He picked up his wand and with a quick flick the bed suddenly fitted together. Harry fell on to the bed and it stayed sturdy and he sighed.

"Harry did it!" cried Pansy clapping her chubby hands.

"Next time, Hermione is doing it," he said and Hermione just grinned at him.

"Whatever you say, Potter," she joked and he continued to scowl.

The trio of toddlers ran on to their beds and Harry had enough time to get off Pansy's before she jumped on him. Hermione had planned their little sleepover mainly so tomorrow didn't seem too weird when they grouped them all in the same room for the change. As the hours ticked down to bedtime Hermione felt more and more dread in her stomach, they stuck to the no bath which pleased all three toddlers immensely and they were treated to pasta carbonara with cheesy garlic bread for tea. But as Hermione helped Pansy into her pyjamas she could feel the need to cry.

"Why you sad Hermione?" she asked touching her face and looking into her eyes.

"I just am, but you've nothing to worry about little princess," Pansy nodded but still frowned. Hermione took hold of Pansy's hand and walked her into the boy's room, the two boys were already in bed and they waved at Pansy, she waved back in return and Hermione helped her into her bed.

"Think you've forgotten something missy," said Harry.

"Trixie," she cried as she spotted the head of her stuffed unicorn poking out from behind Harry's back. He handed her Trixie and she snuggled it closely to her chest.

"Right you little monkeys it's time for you all to go to sleep, it's a big day tomorrow so you'll all need lots and lots of rest okay," said Harry and he smiled sadly at the three heads that nodded back at him. He delivered a kiss on their heads and walked towards the door watching as Hermione delivered the very same on to their heads. She wished them all goodnight and they shut the door behind them.

"What you think us doing?" asked Draco once he was certain Harry and Hermione were out of ear shot.

Blaise shrugged and sat up to face both Pansy and Draco. "Maybe we gonna go on another picnic?"

"No Blaise we won't be picnicking, I think we'll be collecting butterflies!"

"NO!" cried Draco and Blaise shaking their heads.

"Maybe we get to meet one of the fire boy's dragons?" suggested Draco as he reached for his own stuffed dragon. "I can introduce Dragon to the bigger dragons then,"

"But I wanna see a unicorn instead." Said Pansy, "If you get to show Dragon a dragon then I want Trixie to see a unicorn!

"I want to watch one of those film thingies," said Blaise with a large yawn. He covered his mouth with his hand and blinked his eyes to waken up. He laid back down on his bed, he was really tired now.

"Yeah I wanna do that too, watch one with a lion in it." Draco said and both Pansy and Blaise nodded in agreement.

"But what the big thingy we be doing?" asked Pansy once again turning the conversation back on to what Harry had said. "Harry said we gonna need lots and lots of rest, so we need to be sleeping soon." She was slowly becoming tired and had resorted to lying back in her bed.

"Hope it fun, don't you Blaise… Blaise?" across the other side of the room Blaise had drifted to sleep, his teddy was tucked under his arm and his were shut. With a sigh Draco flopped down on to his pillow. "Blaise is sleeping Pansy, you hope tomorrow fun? Pansy?"

Draco turned to face Pansy and he groaned. "Not you too," he moaned as he watched her sleeping face.

"Everybody gone to sleep Dragon but only you and me are awake now." He nodded Dragon's head and Draco sighed. If everyone was going to sleep then he didn't want to be the only one tired for tomorrow. He scooped Dragon in to his arms and carefully wrapped him and his stuffed friend under his duvet before he closed his eyes to sleep.

The following morning Hermione woke from an unrestful night's sleep. She'd tossed and turned all night and had buried her head under the covers as her alarm signalled it was time to get up. Today was D day, the day her babies would grow up. She slowly pushed herself out of bed and got changed into her clothes. She heard Harry enter the bathroom and she opened her door and headed downstairs. Just as she reached the bottom step the Common room door swung open and in walked, Professor McGonagall, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape and Madam Pomfrey.

"Good Morning Professors," she greeted and stood awkwardly facing the group in front of her. "Are we starting the transformation so early?"

"Best to get it over and done with as soon as we can Miss Granger. There's no need to hang about."

"I guess you're right, the toddlers are still asleep at the moment but if you want to take a seat or have a drink then you're welcome to one. I'll go wake them up." Hermione turned on the spot and walked up the stairs.

"Who's downstairs?" asked Harry as he exited the bathroom.

"Professors' Snape, Dumbledore and McGonagall as well as Madam Pomfrey," Hermione told him and he nodded.

"I guess it's time then?"

"I guess so," she said and she walked towards the toddler's bedroom. She pushed open the door and smiled at their sleeping forms. She wandered over to Draco and gently stroked his hair, he blinked a few times before turning to face her, he gave her a sleepy smile and she kissed his forehead. "Time to wake up sleepy head." Draco nodded but closed his eyes and rolled back over to go back to sleep.

"Up little man," she said poking him in the side. Draco whined but he slowly sat up and looked around. Once he was sat up Hermione moved on to Pansy and then to Blaise repeating the same procedure each time.

"Today the big day?" Draco asked now stood beside her in his blue pyjamas.

"Yup, go downstairs and say hello to the Professor's down there."

One by one each of the toddlers made their way to the steps, all three dropped on to their bum and proceeded to bounce down the stairs. Hermione looked at Harry who had just joined them and he smiled.

"It's for the best Mione, everything is going to be alright you'll see." He then started to walk down the stairs, Hermione sighed and followed after him.

Inside the room the toddlers were lively and greeting each of the four Professors in turn.

"Why you all here? You all come to play?"

"No dear," said Professor McGonagall answering Blaise's question. It was a shame these three wouldn't understand that, what was about to happen to them was for the good. She was already expecting lots of tears.

"Does the potion need to be taken on a full stomach?" Hermione asked and Professor Snape shook his head.

"That is why we are early, the potion is to be taken on an empty stomach as it'll not take as long to take effect." he explained.

"Draco, Pansy and Blaise will you come here please," said Harry with a lump stuck in his throat. The three ran towards him and he lowered himself on to the ground.

"Professor Snape has made a potion that you need to take. It'll help you grow big and strong," he explained and Blaise beamed.

"Like the Draco girl said, she said I'd wake up and be big the next day!" Harry nodded and ruffled his curly hair.

"That's right buddy, but the thing is when you become big and strong you can't stay with Hermione and I anymore, you're big boys and girl then."

"I not taking it," said Draco upon hearing that he'd be removed from Hermione and Harry. Blaise and Pansy stepped back slightly and sighed.

"I know you don't want to but you have too, it'll make you better.

"But Harry, I not poorly." Stressed Draco. "I take the other potion and you said I take that I won't be poorly no more." Harry nodded, they had said that to him, it was true.

"I know but this is a different kind of poorly. Don't you want to be as big and old as Hermione and me?" the three toddler shook their heads and Blaise ran to Hermione.

"I don't want to be big, I don't want to go away." Said Blaise and Hermione's heart broke as she saw the tears forming in his eyes. "I promise to be really really good if you don't, I really promise." He said choking back on the tears.

Hermione bit her lip and crouched to the ground, she cradled him in her arms as he began to cry. "I know, and I don't want you to go sweetie but you have to go. You're a big boy now." Blaise just sobbed and she looked over to Professor McGonagall who also had tears in her eyes.

"I think it'll be best if we start it now." Said Madam Pomfrey wiping at her own eyes.

Hermione scooped Blaise into her arms as he cried louder. Harry had picked up both Pansy and Draco who were now also crying and declaring promises to be good.

"I promise to never complain about the bath again ever!" sobbed Draco, his pale face had become blotchy and red and Harry pulled him tighter.

"I know, I know but just because you can't stay with us anymore doesn't mean we can't be friends. You can still come and see us," he said trying to reason with him.

Professor Dumbledore opened the toddler's bedroom door and moved out of the way for Harry and Hermione to walk inside. They placed each toddlers back on to their beds and instantly all three reached for their stuffed friend.

"Please Harry, please no." sniffled Pansy and Harry had to close his eyes to hold his own tears.

"Be a good girl, be a good girl for me Pansy," he whispered wiping the tears from her eyes.

Professor Snape handed a potion vial to Madam Pomfrey and to Professor McGonagall. They each chose a child; Snape and Draco, Pomfrey and Pansy and McGonagall and Blaise. They unscrewed the potion lid and each cradled the crying child so they couldn't escape. They poured the potion down the child's neck, some with more force than others because of the toddler's struggles. Almost instantly the children fell quiet and their eyes drifted close while their bodies fell against the Professor's. They laid them on the bed and stepped back, and they all watched as the toddlers started to change.

Their limbs grew rapidly, first their arms and then their legs. Their faces started to change, gone were their chubby cheeks and button noses and instead their jaws sharpened and stubble started to develop, their noses grew and reshaped, their brows altered. Their hair grew and shortened and their bodies started to fill out. Pansy's chest and curves began to form while both Draco and Blaise grew lean and their shoulders started to fill out. In a few seconds it was over. Laid unconscious on the bed were three Slytherin seventh years, the adorable toddlers they'd grown to love were gone.
