Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter

You're invited

"Hey Granger, erm Hermione. Sorry several years of a habit is hard to break," Hermione just smiled at Pansy as she walked closer to where she was sat. She was sat in the far corner of the library with a book, it was her place of sanctuary and the last place she expected to see Pansy Parkinson.

"No worries. What can I do for you?" Hermione asked watching as Pansy took a seat facing her.

"You're a hard person to find,"

"Really I'm always in the library, why people never think to look here first is beyond me," said Hermione and Pansy paused thinking about what Hermione had said. Why hadn't she tried the library first?

"I'll keep that in mind for next time I need to find you,"

"Okay, so what is it you want?"

"Oh yeah, there's going to be a sleepover in the Room of Requirements on Saturday night, at 8 o'clock, it's a bunch of seventh year girls and I was wondering if you'd like to come along."

Hermione pursed her lips as she thought, the idea sounded fun but at the same time she wasn't sure.

"C'mon Hermione it'll be fun. Live a little, get your head out of your book and socialise with others your age, in just a few months we leave Hogwarts and everything changes, why don't you try and make some new friends."

"I don't know I've never been good at making friends." She admitted and Pansy rolled her eyes.

"Yeah but other than soaking up the words in your books you love so dearly nobody really knows who you are." Explained Pansy. "You are bookwork Granger, simply because we don't know anything about you other than you are one formidable duelling opponents, Deatheaters don't stand a chance and you can recite practically any book you've read."

"Nobody ever wants to know more," Hermione admitted softly and Pansy frowned, she had always thought Harry and Ron had treated her as the brains of the trio but had they really never tried to delve beneath the brains. For some reason she felt very protective of the Witch in front of her and to Pansy this was a startling discovery.

"So tell me about yourself, the deep stuff." She said and Hermione raised a single eyebrow. She bookmarked her page before placing it on to the table.

"The deep stuff? Like what?"

"I don't know, what's your favourite animal?"

"Woah, that's way too far." She said as straight-faced as she could manage but her eyes cleared showed amusement.

Pansy chuckled, "I'm serious what is it?"

"A hedgehog,"

"A Hedgehog? Why a hedgehog?"

"Because you look at hedgehogs and think cute, but though the hedgehog is cute it's a formidable opponent to larger pray because of the spikes on their back. Plus they are nocturnal and they hibernate through the winter. I remember seeing a hedgehog in my back garden when I was younger, it was during the day and we had to ring the Animal rescue service to come and collect it, since then I've loved them."

"Cute but not a pushover,"

"Reminds me of you as a toddler," Hermione chuckled and Pansy rolled her eyes, "what about you then?"

"Mine?" Hermione nodded, "I'd have to say a Unicorn. So beautiful and so pure, plus I'm kind of partial too them because of Trixie," she laughed and Hermione smiled. "So you'll come to the sleepover?"

Hermione sighed, "I'll think about it," Pansy knew she could do no more and simply nodded and had to hope that Hermione would turn up.

Pansy left Hermione to her book and left the library, she had spent enough time in there already, she had a reputation and if too many people saw her in there it would disappeared...

Hermione couldn't quite believe her eyes as she stared at the door in front of her, she hadn't intended to follow through with Pansy's invitation but every time she spotted Pansy in class the request kept creeping back to the front of her mind. She had never been invited to a sleepover before, even as a young child she'd never been asked by the other girls. She'd never bothered throwing one as no one would attend. The harrowing memory of her seventh birthday party was one she had never forgotten. Not one person had turned up to her birthday party and she could still see the horror, anger and hurt on her parents face as she sat in tears. From then on she'd secluded herself from any activity that required humiliation. She could have stayed locked away in her dorm room, her head buried in a book until the early hours of the morning, or she could pluck up some courage and take the risk.

She was a little late but hoped that wouldn't be a problem. In her bag there was a set of clothes and her tooth brush along with her pyjamas and a few other necessary objects. She banged on the door and waited. It wasn't long until the door opened and she was face to face with Daphne Greengrass. She looked at Hermione in shock before the shock faded to a smile.

"I'm surprised you've actually turned up,"

"So am I," admitted Hermione and Daphne laughed.

"Well you are the last to arrive so come in." Hermione nodded and followed Daphne in to the room of requirements. Hermione surveyed the others girls in the room. She already knew Pansy would be there, but she was surprised to see Lisa Turpin, Susan Bones, Megan Jones, Mandy Brocklehurst, and Tracey Davis. She was quick to realise that she was going to be the only Gryffindor in the room.

"Hermione you actually came!" said Pansy from her seat. She was beaming and instantly Hermione remembered the little girl who gave her a bunch of flowers.

"Yeah, I thought I should really attend my first sleepover before I graduate,"

"When you say first sleepover, do you mean in like forever?" Lisa asked and Hermione nodded. Her eyes widened and she was quickly told to change in to her pyjamas.

Hermione snuck off and did as she was told, her pyjamas were the ones that she had worn during the storm and Pansy instantly noticed.

"Nice Pjs Granger," Hermione looked down and rolled her eyes.

"If I remember correctly you liked these when you were a toddler." She sat down between Pansy and Susan.

"C'mon Hermione surely you have some gossip on Pansy as a toddler." Said Tracey and Pansy scowled at her.

"Not really, I'm afraid Harry probably has more on her than me. She was by far the easiest to bathe though."

"Cause I was, Draco would just run off, that white little booty would escape if he got the chance and Blaise liked to copy Draco."

"That is very true, but she was a little diva, demanding pink butterfly dresses and sparkly pink dresses with flowers on and shoes that made noises when she walked, she also wanted a pink unicorn. The list was endless." Hermione teased to the amusement of the other girls.

Pansy raised her nose in the air but her eyes still showed amusement. "I had impeccable taste as a child I'll have you know!"

"Became a favourite of the Weasley's too," Hermione chuckled and now Pansy groaned, smacking her head with her hand. "Especially with Fred and George, they were very fond of Trixie."

"Wait, who is Trixie?" Asked Megan, only Daphne was smirking at the question though.

"I remember Trixie, she was your stuffed Unicorn toy you had as a child." Daphne chuckled, "I remember when you demanded to take her to Diagon Alley and then left her in a shop!"

"Piss off Daphne, or I'll tell everyone about Lulu!"

"You wouldn't!" but Pansy just smirked.

"Who is Lulu?" asked Mandy deeply amused with the conversation.

"Lulu was Daphne's very beloved stuffed yellow bunny."

"What is it with you Slytherins and stuffed animals?" Hermione laughed. "Did you have one too Tracey?"

Tracey shook her head but both Pansy and Daphne gasped. "You liar!" they cried in unison and Tracey groaned.

"She had a pink teddy bear called Cindy!" said Pansy.

"Well if we are confessing childhood stuffed toys, I had a Winnie the Pooh teddy. Still have him."

"That show was amazing!" said Pansy and Hermione laughed.

"You got so in to the cartoons we put on for you!"

"Would you be happy if you ever had a child that was like Pansy?" asked Lisa.

"You know I would be, amusing but actually really sweet. Had her diva moments but they were quite cute. She was always a do-gooder."

"Awww you're making me blush," she said and Hermione laughed.

"I don't know how you coped, especially with Draco the glimpses of him that we saw made him looks so difficult." Said Tracey, "I'd have pulled my hair out."

"Draco lacked discipline but was incredibly nosy, if he thought he could get what he wanted by behaving he did, but baths were a problem. It's easy to say he was the hardest but he was the youngest, when we had them only Blaise was fully toilet trained."

"Was I not?" Pansy asked with frowning, "thought I was?"

"Well you never actually wet the bed while we had you but you would forget to tell us you'd need the toilet, Draco was the same. Usually the three of you would go together because it'd be Blaise telling us he had to go,"

"I'm kind of envious, what an experience to go through, Pansy was such a cutie," chuckled Mandy and Pansy scowled.

The conversation slowly drifted off Hermione and Pansy and on to other topics, clothes and boys were addressed and Hermione was happy to just listen. It wasn't topics she was familiar with but as she surveyed the small group of girl's two things were quickly becoming apparent. This wasn't the first time they had held this sleepover before and another was how out of place she felt being the only Gryffindor.

"Can I ask something?" she asked and all the girls nodded all looking at her.

"Why am I the only one from Gryffindor?"

The group looked between them and it was Lisa that spoke. "Because in our year group there is only Lavender, Parvati and you from Gryffindor. Lavender and Parvati do nearly everyone's head in and we never considered you because you are so different to us, we didn't think it was your scene per say."

"Well it was nice to be invited for once, it's my first ever girls sleepover."

"Still can't believe you've never been to a sleepover before?" asked Daphne. "Not even when you were younger?"

"Hermione shook her head, she sighed and looked down. "I didn't have many if any friends during Muggle School. Okay I probably wasn't the easiest person to befriend but no one ever invited me to sleepovers. I guess after my seventh birthday party I didn't involve myself in social groups."

"Why, what happened at your seventh birthday party?" Susan asked and Hermione smiled softly.

"Nobody turned up,"

"No one?" said Tracey and Hermione nodded.

"Had a bouncy castle, a buffet and all sorts of fun stuff and not one person turned up. It still haunts me really, can't really forget it."

"That's awful!" Said Daphne, "Kids are so cruel, but I can't believe their parents though."

"Mum, approached every parent in the school after my birthday and asked why they didn't turn up. She was livid, I guess I became quite the recluse after that."

"I'd have come to your birthday party." Said Megan and Hermione smiled.

"I doubt it, but thanks all the same. To be honest it's quite nice to actually hang out with a bunch of girls for once. Sharing a dorm with both Parvati and Lavender hasn't always been easy."

"I can only imagine," laughed Pansy.

As the night progressed Hermione slowly felt more settled, nobody mocked her and she instantly found she like Daphne Greengrass. She would have avoided her in the hallways but sat here she learnt that the pretty Slytherin was witty and clever, cheeky and polite. As the group slowly diverted into separate conversations Hermione found herself talking to her.

"You got a favourite subject then?" Daphne asked and Hermione pursed her lips in thought.

"I think I'd say Potions."

"Even with Snape as the teacher?" she asked cheekily and Hermione laughed.

"Remarkable man really, not the nicest but very intelligent and a great Professor."

"Yeah, he's alright. He's harder on his own house then he is with any of the others, he just keeps that private. He scared me until my third year."

"Well you where there in Defence back in third year when Neville's Boggart turned into him."

"Yes! I nearly forgot about that. I don't know about you but I don't know what was scarier the idea of Snape in drag or imagining what Longbottom's Grandmother would look like in that outfit."

It was something best not thought about.

"I must say though you've got one hell of a slap on you," Hermione said and Daphne groaned.

"Take it you know all about it?"

"Oh yeah, remember when Draco played up in the Great Hall?" Daphne nodded, "well that evening I went to give them all check-ups with Madam Pomfrey and it came alight there."

"Most embarrassing thing I've ever experienced!"

"I bet! He's had to tell all the girls he's slept with to get checked. Thing is though one of those girls will have passed it on to him."

"I know that he's told Cho Chang and Lisa,"

"Really?"

"Yeah, not sure who else he's infected but we've both had it. Have you ever slept with someone?"

Hermione blushed but shook her head, as long as they were been honest to one another she would keep to it.

"Probably for the best, it's not all it's cracked up to be and if you aren't careful you get an infection,"

"I'll keep it in mind," Hermione laughed and Daphne grinned.

"To be honest I thought you'd slept with at least Potter or Weasley," Hermione wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"Don't be daft, they are like brothers to me, I wouldn't dream of doing anything in that nature with them."

"Fair enough. What about Blaise and Draco then. Pansy said you were quite close with them. What about now?"

"I've not really spoken to either of them, we said we'd remain friends but I feel like they've avoided me."

"Oh, that's cause they are idiots and are trying to work out what's going on in there head. Give them time, they're confused." Hermione wanted to ask but she bit her tongue, what exactly where they confused about?

As the night became later, a unanimous decision was made to go to bed. Hermione was bunked besides Pansy. As the room darkened Hermione turned towards Pansy who was smiling at her.

"Can I ask you something?" Hermione whispered and Pansy nodded.

"Do you like Harry?"

If it had been light, Hermione would have seen the blush decorate Pansy's face. "Why do you ask?"

"I dunno, I think he may like you but just not know how to say it out loud." Hermione said. "He adored you ya know,"

"Maybe, I don't really know how to feel." Hermione heard movement and when the bed dipped she moved to one side to make room for Pansy.

"That's understandable," she said, "you've been through so much."

"What about you with the boys?"

"Not sure it's almost like everything before the accident has been erased. I guess I just see them differently."

"Well I'll fill you in on something." She said and Pansy moved closer, "There is something going on between them, they've been filtering around it for a while now but it's clear to those close to them that they like each other."

"Oh, interesting."

"You may find they'll come as a pair. Did as children and now as adults. I think the confusion is why Draco has been sleeping around so much. Hannah Abbott wasn't so pleased when she found out about Draco's infection."

That was another name Hermione thought, "He's learnt a valuable lesson then," Pansy chuckled beside her.

"I'm glad you came, I know we hadn't spoken much since I returned and I just thought this would be a good way."

"I'm really glad you invited me."

"The others haven't said yet but I think they are all happy to have had you here. I'll know by tomorrow if you are welcome to any future sleepovers."

"Well I'll be happy to attend it's been really fun. I've enjoyed myself."

"Great! I best try and get some sleep. Goodnight Hermione!"

"Good night Pansy. Sweet dreams."

Hello! It's been so very long since I updated this and for that I'm incredibly sorry! It think it was just after Christmas the last update. I've been so busy with work and just general life to actually write and when I was writing I found I could only find inspiration for certain stories.

I must thank Shaymars for being such a loyal fan and Pming me about this story. I've finally gotten around to writing this. So this is for you! I hope you like it!

Considering I had a boy's chapter it was only right to have a girls chapter. Hope you all like it. Thank you for all the previous reviews.

Until next time Lottie!
