General pov: it's the morning after the big talk between stella and kelly on where they stand Right now Kelly is a parlay making coffee before work

S= you're up early
K= just getting coffee going
S= hey
( walks in front of him) I meant what I said last night I want to marry you yes yes 1 million times
K= I heard you
S= okay good and I'm not spotting that to make everything perfect between us overnight you know I get that scream up ...
K= Stella
S= yeah
K= we're good
S= yeah okay I love you
( they kiss)

They have the morning coffee then head off to work they get a call where a truck hit a pole and now has down live power lines Pelham gives the orders to everyone including the truck 37 that comes in joins, But one line becomes free again and fire fighter named McBride decides to go for it and she gets hurt once she was talking care of him turn off the head everyone finish cleaning up the scene and headed back to the fire house

LP= well that was total Mayhem
K= that could've been a lot worse
LP= I hope she bounces back quick
K= she wouldn't have been in trouble if that transformer hadn't blown out of nowhere
LP= I just figured accident cost
K= what'd you see before it explode
LP= it was smoking spitting fire
K= i've seen that with lightning strikes in flame contact but none of that was in play here
Huh think it's a defective unit
S= how's McBride doing
SB= she was stable a little banged up from her fall they have her under observation
V= I got shocked by a bad outlet once my arm was buzzing for a day can't imagine what a high-voltage line feels like
SB= she's pretty lucky

Kelly and Pelham go and do the after call report well everyone else just goes and hangs out throughout the firehouse put an hour later chief looks for Pelham and find some in the briefing room

LP= hey chief
CB= that firefighter from 37 who got hurt on your call
LP= McBride yeah is there any update on Her
CB= Separated shoulder , a mild concussion she'll be out for a few weeks
LP= that's a tough break
CB= she said it's your fault
LP= What
CB= apparently you ordered her to secure a live wire on her own about the proper equipment
LP= no no way I never gave her that order
CB= that's what she said and that's what's going in their report

In that moment Boden decides to call the whole firehouse together to see what they saw and what they could tell him about what happened on the call

K= she said what
CB= That Lieutenant Pelham ordered her to move that wire with a pike pole she's blaming him for her injury
M= that's crazy
CB= did anyone see what happened
M= yeah I saw her go down
CB= was she acting on orders
M= oh well I don't know that
CB= did anyone see her acting on orders from Pelham or otherwise
HC= I heard her lieutenant put her on hose duty but other than that no
CB= medics
SB= we were prepping for victims
V= behind the ambo
CZ= it was fog of war chief Power lines were bouncing around everywhere victims to save
LP= maybe I said something that she misunderstood you know I don't think so but who knows
M= don't worry Lieutenant we got your back
CZ= absolutely
CB= he's going to need more than your support he's gonna need testimony to contradict McBride there's gonna be an inquiry So I want statements from each one of you describing exactly what you witness engine 37 will do the same once we get a full her picture on this thing then maybe it will all shakeout I want those statements by the end of shift
All cope that Cheif
S= Kelly so I actually know Sarah
K= yeah
S= Yeah she volunteers for girls on fire a couple times look are we sure Pelham is in the clear on this
K= why did you see something on the car
S= no but Sarah does not seem like the type of person that would like
K= I don't know Her I know him and he's solid

Kelly walks away while everyone start thinking about what they saw on the call from earlier after shift everyone hands in their reports and heads to mollys

K= hey
LP= hey
K= Been talking to my guys and we're pretty sure that the wire came down with the transformer blew and you were doing with the fire at that point so how could you give her the order
LP= makes sense to me
K= right this Sarah McBride you guys don't have any history that should be disclosed do you
LP= i've never met her before I have no idea why she's gunning for me any further thoughts on that transformer
K= I thought I'd swing by the scene in the morning have another look if they are bad transformers out there then we need to investigate
LM= what's the deal with you and ofi you got a side gig there or something
K= no what kind of it's more like a hobby my old man used to work Carson back in the day so I guess it's in my blood
LP= it's cool mind if I take a long sounds like a welcome distraction
K= you're on

The next day Stella decides to go find Sarah to see if she can tell her more of what happened on the call

SMC= Stella your in physical therapy too
S= no just came by to see how you're doing
SMC= really
S= Yeah it was a pretty scary hit you took
SMC= 2 to 4 weeks
S= damn but hey a few thousand volts in you're still walking Sarah you're a certified badass
SMC= Maybe
S= yeah I heard you're saying our new Lieutenant is at fault
SMC= yeah well I gotta do what I gotta do you know
S= oh yeah no I get hey I'm not here to give you a hard time you know I mean Pelham seems like a good guy but like I said he's new so yeah what happened
SMC= it's all in the incident report
S= oh I know it's just these things are so dry and procedural I was hoping to get the full story from you
SMC= well that's what's in the report the full story
S= okay i'm just trying to figure out what he could've seen from his position you know did he see the line go down
SM= I guess so because he just pointed at me and gave the order
S= whoa hey Sarah I am just trying to get clarification
SMC= I said all I had to say on that

Sarah walks away and seller realizes that she may be not telling the whole story The next morning Kelly and Pelham head to the scene from the call the other day

K= how is it going firefighters on the CFD we were here on the scene you have any idea why this thing blew
PG= well if you were on the scene you knew that a moving van slammed into it right
LP= yeah but the pole survive shouldn't the transformer held study
PG= look I'm just here to replace the thing
K= how much oil goes into one of these things
PG= unit this size 50 gallons
K= well since you already pulled it down do you mind if we take it I'd like to show it to the office of fire investigation
PG= saves me a trip to the scrapyard have at it
K= want to give me a hand ( Pelham walks away) what is it
LP= this is where I was Standing when that things loaded truck 81 was parked about here ( points) and she was on the other side near 37 which means there was no site line so how could I have given her a verbal command
K= I believe you 100%
LP= but you can't confirm
K= hey in my experience with the pencil pushers at the board of the review they'll never know what it's like to be on the ground so your best bet is to keep your head down do your job and let the chips fall
LP= I get that but given my disciplinary Record it's not chipset are going to fall it's an axe come on let's load this thing up

They loaded up into Pelham's truck and drop it off at OFI to see what they can find, The next shift poem Kelly and Stella are all in the Chiefs office to go over things

CB= all hi witness statements are in from all four companies that were pleasant at the same
LP= and
CB= none of them can back up Sarah McBride Account but they don't contradict her either
LP= chief , severide
and I were back on the scene yesterday and just looking at how it all laid out I've never been more sure I couldn't have even seen her when that wire came down
CB= I don't doubt you tell him there's Board that weighs up all the evidence
K= it'll turn into he said she said
S= I went to talk to McBride
K= what when
S= off shift I know her some girls and fire stuff
CB= you talked about the accident
S=mmm I can't explain it but Um yeah I got a weird hit off of her
CB= what kind of hit
S= defenseless I don't want to accuse her of anything but somethings not right
KY= Lieutenant severide
K= yep
KY= Captain Van meter is on the apparatus floor
CB= go

Stella, Kelly and Pelham go out on the apparatus floor to meet VanMeter

K= Supposedly this thing has 50 gallons of oil in it when it blew but if that was true I wouldn't be here I'd be in the burn ward it was half full at most
VM= so you're saying the accident wouldn't have caused it to blow except that most of the cool had evaporated
K= makes sense right
LP= judging by the serial number this thing is 10 years past its due date
VM= probably cutting costs by letting them run longer than they should, well maybe I can subpoena the power company for the record pressure them into replacing them all or face criminal charges it's nice work sevride Seager is going to be upset you solved one without her you two did great work in those church fires but now she keeps bugging me about when you need back on other cases
K= you did remind her I don't work for ofi right
VM= yeah she didn't care she said it's no fun burning the midnight oil without you

They load the thing back up into Van meters car. The chief decides to talk to someone else about the incident to see what they know

CB= Steward now a good time
CS= hey chief Boden what points you to the west side
CB= Pelham inquiry
CS= oh okay make a decision about that yet
CB= no not yet but before they do I wanted to get your take on something Sarah McBride tell me about her
CS= good kid hate to have her on the bench
CB= so you're a fan
CS= oh yeah she's a little queen maybe a little on the quiet side but hard worker
CB= is she honest
CS= In my experience yes very you know getting a lot of attention this week you're the second DDC to ask
CB= Who was the first
CS= Cheif Kilbourne
CB= did Kilbourne call you
CS= yeah right after the accident wanted to know all about her
CB= before she filed her accusation
CS= I think so
CB= you think so or yeah
CS= you know honestly I can't say for sure it sounds like something you ought to be talking up directly with chief Kilbourne

Boden decide to leave his office and goes to find Cheif Kilbourne

CB= Cheif Kilbourne
CK= Boden how are you
CB= on the warpath
CK= wow okay
CB= I already know you're not happy I hired Jason Pelham and now a firefighter in your district leveled serious allegations against him
CK= you think I have something to do with that
CB= I think you saw an opportunity you need jumped and I think you found that young woman in a vulnerable state And you pressure certain to fabricating a story what fire fighter it's gonna say no to a deputy distinct Cheif
CK= that is one hell of an accusation Boden
CB= can you deny it
CK= can you prove it let me float an alternate theory Pelham screwed The pooch and how you're desperate to find someone else to blame for your lousy hiring decision I told you Pelham was bad news that is on you

He walks away the next shift Boden calls pelham into his office and let him know what he found

LP= how do we prove it
CB= how can we unless she fesses up look Pelham I understand why you took the hit to protect Captain Stafford but Kilbourne clearly has it in for you don't it seem like it's time to tell the full story of why you slugged his friend
LP= Kilbourne New as well as anyone that was in a tail spin he'd just figured he pulled out of it I was less optimistic I could tell Stafford was gonna end up getting someone killed my only crime was not following the old school code of turning a blind eye I am the pissont Lieutenant who forced his buddy to a tire that is why Kilbourne Will never forgive me

The chief takes in the information and thinks about it more after shift goes to see what else he can do. While Stella and Kelly arrive home together after shift

K= we're gonna order it
S= sure
K= hey what's going on you were quiet the whole wide home
S= how come you never mentioned anything about working that big case with Seager
K= you serious
S= I just think it's odd that you never you never brought it up once
K= i'm sure I would've if you picked up my calls
S= i'm sorry
K= I know
S= I can't help but feel like maybe you can't totally forget me
K= you apologized I have accepted it you're the one who won't let it go
S= I let you I let you down and I let Boden down
K= You explained it to us use fine you need to try to figure things out no one is perfect, not even Stella Kidd
S= maybe ..., I just really want to be perfect one for you
( kiss and hug )
K= you are the perfect one for me

Stella and kelly finally have been passed the things that were built up over the last few weeks after that talk. The chief goes and talks to pelham at his house tell him what he found out

LP= cheif
CB= they finish reviewing your case
LP= want a beer
CB= yep
LP= all right how bad is it
CB= they recommend termination

To be continued...

Authors note: sorry it took me forever to post this I will have a next part up in the next day, my thoughts on this episode I actually felt bad for pelham he wasn't the one at fault. Stella and Kelly's little talk was a little weird but at the end they were back to normal self. Also When Kelly said to Stella nobody is perfect not even Stella Kidd I was like excuse me sir I think she is perfect so and she is the perfect woman for him and he knows it. Please give me your feedback on this chapter also I love Stella face when van meter said seager name like I wish Stella could hit her one time because she needs to stay away from kelly
