Author's Note: Hello, everyone. Another day, another new fanfic.

Now, before we begin, I'd like to make a little announcement. I've been getting into the Assassin's Creed series lately and I'd like to do it a lot here. You all know the Spider-Verse series and the Loki Variance Saga. Well, now, I'd like to do some crossovers with Assassin's Creed involved. I've got some ideas and I'd like to hear more. I'm starting with this one since this is the most recommended from my friends.

If you have an idea for an Assassin's Creed crossover, I'd like to hear them. Just remember that they have to be a multi-chapter adventure. They're not going to be one-shots. They can be about OC assassins, Assassin's Creed characters in other fandoms, or characters from other fandoms redesigned as assassins. Also, I'm going to need plot. I don't just want a crossover idea just because the two fandoms work well. If anyone has an idea, just leave it to me in the comments section.

For this fanfic, I'm starting with the Last Airbender. This is the first of a two-part series which I am looking forward too. Obviously, this is going to revolve around an OC, but you can expect other Last Airbender characters as guest appearances. I'm also taking some liberties from the original Assassin's Creed universe such as the existence of Abstergo, just redesigned for this universe. Just remember that the present day in this fanfic is set long after the events of Legend of Korra, like decades after. By now, there should be a new Avatar.

I hope you like it. Any and all comments are welcome.

How can I describe my day? In three words… not the best. Being a bartender is hard enough when I'm only dealing with the complaints and the roughhousing. I have a very little amount of friends, and they all told me to suck it up. Easy for them to day. Just about half of the drunks I served were wild benders. Between the brawls and the unpaid tabs, I was beginning to hate my life.

And what just happened to me that fateful night did not make it any better.

The morning shift started, which meant it was my time to go home. I was looking forward to laying on my couch, forgetting to wash my short, black hair, and dozing to sleep while watching my TV for the twelfth day in a row. I couldn't drive home because I was short on gas money, so I had to walk. But right when I was halfway home, a black car drove by and parked right next to me. It was eerily close, so I stopped to get a look at it. But then, the back passenger window began to open. There was nothing but shadow for me to see, but I could hear the raspy voice of a man.

"Are you Dan?"

"Um, yeah." I answered in confusion. "Who are you?"

"Someone who's very interested in a special person like you. Take him away!"

The last thing I remember was getting caught by surprise when someone behind me put a black bag over my head.

I may have spent several hours with a bag over my head and my hands tied behind my back. When my head was finally uncovered, I was nearly blinded by the bright light that came from the big windows in front of me. I found myself sitting in a chair with my pale-white clothes still looking clean. In between myself and the windows was a desk belonging to a middle-aged man with a white lab coat and a gray beard that hid his malicious smile.

"Welcome to Abstergo, Dan." He said. I recognized his voice as the man who spoke to me before I was jumped.

"Where am I?" I asked. "What's going on?" I struggled to break free, but my wrists were bound tightly.

"There's nothing to be afraid of. You're perfectly safe." The bearded man said, though I suspected he could be fibbing. "My name is Rion. I'll be the man in charge of your treatment."

I stopped struggling to process what he said. "Treatment? What do you mean by that?"

"Like Dr. Rion said, there's nothing to worry about." A voice answered from behind me. I turned around and fixed my eyes at a woman with blonde hair and a white lab coat. She stood right beside a table with lights glowing on it.

"That's Mira." Rion introduced. "She'll be manning the Animus while you're under."

"Animus? Under?" I asked. "Look, you people have to stop talking to me like I already know what you're talking about. What is all this?"

"I told you we should have eased him into this more, sir." Mira said.

"Tarrius gave us a deadline, Mira." Rion said. "We need to do this as soon as we can."

Mira sighed before approaching me. She was kind enough to untie my hands. "I'm sorry about this. Believe me, this was not my idea."

"I'm having a hard time believing you people." I said rubbing my thin wrists. "Now, why am I here?"

"Simply put," Rion said, "We're looking for something and you're the key to finding it. Once we have what we want, you'll be free to go."

"Why me?" I asked. "I'm just a bartender."

"You are so much more than that. We know that you are an assassin."

That word only brought me more confusion. "I'm a what? What are you people talking about?"

Rion put on a surprised look. He leaned back on his chair covering his beard with his fingers. "You really don't know anything about your family, do you?"

"Not really a long story, pops." I grimaced. "My dad ran off when I was a baby and I don't have a lot of memories about my mom before she died."

"I did try to tell you, sir." Mira said. She pulled out a clipboard and looked at the paper on it. "According to his file, Dan was registered to an orphanage at age 4. No one adopted him, so he stayed there until he was old enough to live on his own. He worked his way up to becoming a bartender, and that's pretty much it."

I frowned recalling my life at the orphanage. The others kids were cruel and the caretaker was even worse. Giving us stale bread and making us do all the chores while he just read the papers in his rosy pajamas. It was literally the happiest day of my life when I turned 18 and moved out.

"I see." Rion said before turning his gaze toward me. "Well, Dan, I do apologize for the circumstances of your life, but I'm sure you'll be happy to know the deep-seeded history of your family."

"What are you talking about?"

"You, young man, are part of a bloodline that has been special for five generations. Your family were assassins."

"Assassin? You mean they killed people?"

"It's a bit more complicated than that, but yes." Rion said. "The Assassin Brotherhood is a secret society that has been around almost as old as time itself. They're so secretive, not even the White Lotus know they exist. Your father's an assassin too, which is probably why he abandoned you."

I took a moment to catch my breath before slumping down at the chair I was sitting in. "You realize that's a lot for me to process."

"I imagine so." Rion said. "But we're not here to talk about your dad. We're here in regards of one of your ancestors, Arzon."

"Who's that?" I asked.

"He was an assassin during the final years of the Hundred Year War. He's also you're great-great-grandfather." Mira answered. "Born in the Fire Nation, Arzon took part in certain events that helped the war reached the result it did. Why and how remains a mystery, but that's not what we're looking for. We believe that Arzon found something, something that we have a great interest in. We just need to know where he hid it."

"And you think I can help you?" I asked. "I've never even heard of this Arzon guy until literally thirty seconds ago. What makes you think I can just tell you where he hides his stuff?"

"You don't have to tell us." Mira said walking back behind me. I followed her as she returned to the lit-up table. She gestured to it. "This is the Animus. It's a machine we designed to look through your memories."

"Not just your memories. But your ancestors' too." Rion said finally getting up from his desk. He pulled out an iron cane with a smooth, round rock at its top. He leaned on it as he limped on to join his assistant. I figured I had to get up too. No one stopped me as I walked up next to Mira.

"My ancestors'?" I asked.

"That is right." Rion said. "The CEO of Abstergo, Dr. Tarrius, theorized that somewhere in our minds are memories passed down by our blood ancestors. They are suppressed and stored into our subconscious, but they're still there."

"Like the Avatar and all his past lives?" I asked.

"The Avatar is someone with hidden memories," Rion said, "But using the memories his past lives is much easier for him since he is a reincarnation and the memories are already his. But with the Animus, we will put you into a state of hyper-sleep which will allow us to look into your memories. Dr. Mira will be operating the machine while I supervise. All you have to do is sleep. Then, once we find what we're looking for, we'll release you and you can get back to your life."

I wasn't sure if what I had been living could even be called a life, but the more I looked at the

machine I was supposed to sleep in, the more I was diverted away from that thought. It's unbelievable to think I had to be in this kind of position. I took a breath and turned to the two scientists.

"Do I have a choice?"

"I'm afraid not." Mira said. I noted that there was a twinge of fear in her eyes which worried me. "Dr. Tarrius is not a patient man. He's giving us a deadline that can only be described as barely reasonable. If he doesn't get results soon, it won't work out well for the three of us. If we let you go now, you won't last a day."

"This is the best deal we can offer you, Dan." Rion continued. "It's either take it or be done… for good."

I gulped at this threat. I took one last look at the machine before giving my answer. "Well, when you put it like that, how can I say no?"

"Smart man." Rion said.

"All right. Now, lay down so we can get started." Mira instructed. I followed laying my whole body on the table.

"So what exactly are you people looking for and why?" I asked feeling as if I should have asked that earlier.

"That's on a need-to-know basis, Dan." Rion said while Mira sat in front of a computer which I just discovered was attached to the machine. A glass visor arched over my face.

"Right." I said without an ounce of surprise. "Is there anything you can tell me before I go under? Like is this going to hurt or…"

"Not to worry, Dan. You'll be all right." Mira assured. "Here's how it's going to work. Me and Dr. Rion will be monitoring your memories from out here. But while you're in hypersleep, you'll be having an out-of-body experience, you might say. You will be living the memories we look through as if you were Arzon himself. However, you won't have any memories of the present day nor will you remember who you really are. You'll just be Arzon going through his life as the real him did. It's the only way we can fully synchronize his memories."

I admit, that sounded kinda cool. I was about to live the life of an assassin from the Hundred Year War. That's gotta be fun to at least experience. So I closed my eyes and braced myself waiting to fall asleep. However, much to my surprise, it didn't come just yet. I peeked one eye open to see Mira nervously typing on her computer. Rion walked up to her looking upset.

"What is the meaning of this?" Rion asked. "Why isn't he asleep yet?"

"I'm trying to access the day Arzon found the… the thing we're looking for," Mira said, "But it keeps rejecting our entry. We can't directly get into it."

"Blast!" Rion yelled out. "Can't you force your way in?"

"Doing so will corrupt the memory we're looking for giving us inconclusive results." Mira said. "Not to mention, it could damage the subject's mind. We could end up losing everything."

That wasn't good for me to hear. Nor was it good for Rion who furiously paced around once stomping his cane. "Is there anything we can do? We don't want to make Tarrius angry!"

"I know, I know." Mira said. "Look, the best I can do is start the process with the earliest memory available. All we'd have to do is let him play the events out until we get to the moment we're looking for. The only problem is that it's going to take longer than we thought and Dan going to have to take regular breaks to rest his mind."

Rion groaned still upset clearly. "Tarrius is not going to like this."

"I know," Mira replied, "But it's the only thing we can do. We just need a little more time."

Rion sighed. "I'll let him know. You just do what you can." He limped to the door that he soon exited while Mira returned to her screen. She typed on it until she found what she was looking for.

"All right, Dan. This process is going to take longer than we thought, but the result should be the same. We'll pull you out when you need a rest or if the Animus overheats. You ready?"

I take my breath and start to sweat. "No, but do it anyway."

"All right. Good luck."

After a moment, the machine began to hum. I closed my eyes feeling my consciousness slip out quickly. In just a few seconds, I lost myself and felt like I was sliding into the machine. That's when I knew it was finally happening.

It was time to live the life of Arzon.
