Author's Note: I'm back. Now, I have had quite a few guest reviews in the past and they presented me with certain challenges that I'd like to address here before we move onto the story.
First of all, I have been requested to take a look at a Ninja Turtles OVA series. It's a 2-episode saga that is found on one video on Youtube labeled Mutant Turtles: Superman Legend. I've looked at it, and honestly, it's not my favorite adaptation of the Ninja Turtles. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Those fairy-like characters in the first OVA and the ninja leader in the second were okay, but honestly, the whole series was kinda forgettable to me. That's my honest opinion about that.
I've also got a review from the same guest telling me about moves the turtles can do that come from a video game called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters. Problem is, I have no idea how to see them. I don't know where to find them.
The same reviewer asked of me not to mutate any of the main characters, but for fair warning, I do plan on mutating one of the Hebijo girls for the plot. I won't say who, but I feel like it's necessary. Not to worry, though. I have a plan.
To that very reviewer, I thank you for your contribution, your opinions, and your support for my story.
Enjoy the chapter. Any and all comments are welcome.
When Donatello came to, he felt sore in many parts of his body. He groaned silently trying to see straight, but he was unable to move. Soon enough, he was able to see why. He was on a table with iron cuffs around his wrists and ankles. Surrounding him were loads of research equipment and medical tools stacked on top of tables.
Donnie glanced across the room where Baxter Stockman was mumbling to himself while looking into a microscope.
"Examine the turtle. They kept telling me that, but they have no idea what they're asking of me."
"What are they asking for then?" Donnie asked weakly.
Stockman looked back at Donnie finding him awake. "Oh, goodie. And on top of that, it's woken up. Could this day be any more fun?"
"I can tell you're being sarcastic, but at least answer me one question," Donnie said, "Where am I?"
"My lab." Stockman said. "After Shredder basically pounded you, you were brought here so we can see what makes you tick."
"Shredder?" Donnie asked before he finally remembered. "Hibari! Where is she?"
"The little girl you came here with?" Stockman asked. "Haruka took her to her new room."
Donnie gasped remembering how Haruka surrendered herself to Hebijo in exchange for his life to be spared. He frowned at how foolish he was just when Haruka herself stepped into the lab.
"What are you doing here?" Stockman asked.
"Just checking to see how your little lab rat is doing." Haruka said. "Remember, Master Shredder said not to kill him."
"I know what I'm doing. I took a blood sample from him to study." Stockman argued as he returned to his microscope.
"He's so whiny." Haruka said rolling her eyes before pointing them at Donnie with interest. "You, on the other hand, I'm particularly interested in."
"Yeah, I heard you before." Donnie said. "You want me to be your first turtle doll. But would you even want to? I mean, I'm a turtle after all."
"That's not what I'm interested in." Haruka said. She sensually stroked the top of Donnie's head making him nervous. "You're not like the other turtles, are you? The way you were able to get into that Mouser many times with ease. You're smart and I like it."
"What? You're smart too?" Donnie asked.
"I may not look like it, but I'm quite a chemist." Haruka said. "I've brewed many love potions with that skill set. Anyway, I'm off to give Hibari the tour of the school. Who knows, maybe I'll have a genuine friend out of her and a lover out of you."
"Lover?" Donnie gasped. "Lady, I…"
Haruka shut him up by planting her lips onto his. He widened his eyes feeling her lips on his.
"Hey!" Stockman shouted. "No PDA in the lab!"
Haruka broke the kiss with a smile on her face. "Nice. I can see what that Hanzo class rep sees in you." She stood back up straight and walked out of the lab. "Take care of him, Stockman." She disappeared out of the room.
Stockman groaned while Donnie was shaking off the shock of that kiss.
For the next couple of hours, Haruka began showing Hibari around. The younger girl had on a new black uniform to replace her white one. Haruka first brought Hibari to a large, seemingly empty field. In actuality, Hebijo students were practicing their blending skills by being buried underneath the dirt. According to Haruka, they have been buried underneath for thirty hours and they weren't halfway done yet. Somehow, one of the grown ninja came down from above smashing his foot right on top of a lump. Upon impact, a girl's scream was heard and her cover was blown. Hibari was a little shaken at that.
As Haruka brought to a bridge above a river, Hibari noticed a bamboo in the water begin to shake. Haruka told her the shinobi in training there were practicing blending into the water. However, another black-costumed ninja appeared and shot three arrows. Two of them made the student panic in the water, but the third made impact with her arm making her scream as she burst out.
"This is a little harsh, isn't it?" Hibari asked. "She could die."
"Failure isn't something that should just be ignored. We always do something like that." Haruka said. "Although, I do admit, this stuff scares me a little. I mean, things weren't this extreme before the Shredder took over."
"The Shredder took over?" Hibari asked. "What do you mean?"
"Hebijo used to have a different headmaster." Haruka explained. "Sure, he had us risk injury if we slip, but not like this. One day, the Shredder just came to Hebijo along with his Foot Clan of evil shinobi. He challenged the headmaster to a fight for control of the school."
"And he won?"
"He decimated. He murdered our old headmaster right in front of us. Ever since then, the Foot Clan have been running Hebijo and things have gotten a lot more serious. Me and the rest of my friends are just lucky we managed to make it to the top. I can live with myself making it this far, but if anything happened to Homura or the others…"
"You really care about them?" Hibari asked.
"Of course, I do." Haruka said. "Well, let's get going. I've got to introduce you to the others."
Hibari was shaken about how cruel the Shredder appeared to be, but her mind was more focused on Haruka's care. Soon, a theory went through her mind.
"All this time, I only thought of Hebijo as only our enemies, cold-blooded killers. But if they care about each other, then what's the real difference between us and them?"
Homura cleared her throat before heading to the top floor office. She approached the Shredder who stood at the window facing outside.
"You wanted to see me, Master Shredder?"
"Yes, I did, Homura." Shredder said. "I have something that I'd like to give you." He presented the rolled up piece of paper to the leader of the elite students who had eyes full of wonder.
"The Super Secret Ninja Arts Scroll?" Homura asked. "You're really giving it to me?"
"Of course." Shredder replied. "The power of this scroll can only be used by one who is disciplined enough to. And I know that it is you. Take it and feel its power coursing through you."
Homura slowly reached her hand up before accepting the scroll from her headmaster's hands. "Thank you, Master Shredder. What shall I do with it?"
"Anything you desire." Shredder said. "Although, I think I already know how you're going to use it first."
Homura gave a mischievous smile. "I'm going to pay Hanzo Academy a visit."
Asuka met up with Leonardo on the top of the Hanzo Academy roof. They along with their friends and family have searched all over town, but saw found no trace of who they were looking for.
"I can't find Hibari anywhere." Asuka said.
"No clue on Donnie either." Leo said. "I'm getting worried."
"Hibari blamed herself for what happened to Yagyu." Asuka said with worry. "What if… What if she went to face Hebijo by herself?"
"And you think the same thing happened to Donnie?" Leo asked.
"That is a possibility."
That voice didn't come from either of them. Both Leo and Asuka turned their heads to see the girl they were both familiar with.
"Homura!" Asuka gasped pulling out her blades.
Leo did the same. "What are you doing here?"
"Nothing much." Homura said smugly. "I just overheard you talking about Hibari and that missing turtle.
"What happened to Hibari and Donnie?" Leo asked threateningly.
Homura smirked before proudly answering. "They're with us now. Hibari has transferred over to Hebijo."
Asuka widened her eyes nearly losing breath. "No. You're lying."
"I'm not." Homura replied. "Hibari has enrolled into Hebijo now."
Asuka was still in disbelief. Meanwhile, Leo pointed his katanas further at Homura. "What about Donnie? What have you done with him? And if you say he's a Hebijo student to, I swear…"
Homura chuckled. "Well, if you want the truth…" She pulled out her six swords just as a shinobi barrier surrounded the rooftop. "You're gonna have to beat it out of me."
Leo and Asuka both readied their weapons. Asuka transformed while Leo charged forward to attack first. Homura blocked the first sword strike and countered with her own. Leo blocked that while sending a kick that Homura sidestepped. Asuka shot out in her shinobi form and struck too. Homura blocked with all six swords before stepping backwards.
"Are you joking right now?" Homura mocked. "Your attacks lack conviction. It's like you're not even trying to kill me."
"We're not." Leo said giving sword strikes. "All we want are Hibari and Donnie. She's our friend and he's my brother."
"Besides, killing isn't the purpose of a shinobi." Asuka said. "We have to protect everything that's dear to us."
Homura laughed as she danced in the fight. "Do you live in your own little worlds? This fight cannot stop until one of us is dead. If you want to know the true purpose of the shinobi, it's to be strong, no matter what you have to do. You have to be willing to kill in order to get stronger."
"We don't do that!" Asuka argued.
"And that's why you're destined to lose." Homura said. "You want us all to hold hands and sing kumbaya? That's a foolish dream! Protect what you hold dear? Don't make me laugh! Death lurks around shinobi every day! Our morality makes life that much more precious! Every breath you take is that much sweeter!"
"No, you're wrong!" Leo shouted as he went one strong kick that pushed Homura away. "The reason me and my brothers were trained in the art of ninja was to protect ourselves and each other! You say a ninja should only kill? Well, I disagree!"
"I don't think I understand you at all, Homura." Asuka said.
"I don't need your approval nor your understanding." Homura said. "But here's something you should be able to grasp." She reached within her cleavage and pulled something out. Leo and Asuka both widened their eyes realizing what it was in their enemy's hand.
"The scroll!" Leo gasped.
"That's right." Homura said. "The Super Secret Ninja Arts Scroll. Hibari and Donnie brought it with them when they came to us."
"That's impossible." Asuka gasped. "Why…"
Homura shrugged. "It doesn't matter. You should be more concerned with the power of this scroll. My headmaster believes I am strong enough to use this power. Well, let's see for ourselves."
Homura swung her arm letting the scroll open up in the toss. On its page, the symbol of Yang materialized, and a powerful presence surged right through Homura's body. She gasped completely surprised at the amount of power she felt. Even Asuka and Leo felt it coming off of her completely afraid at what was happening.
"This… THIS IS INCREDBILE!" Homura shouted maniacally. "I'VE NEVER FELT SO MUCH POWER!" She laughed loudly scaring her two opponents. "WHAT'S THE MATTER, YOU TWO? WHERE'S THAT SPIRIT YOU TWO HAD?"
Asuka was completely stunned, petrified, terrified. She heard of the power of the scroll, but she never even came close to understanding how powerful it really was until Homura used it. She was about ready to faint. Then, suddenly, Leonardo returned to his feet.
Homura raised an eyebrow seeing Leo walk slowly towards her. Once he was close enough, Leo slowly raised his sword aiming it at Homura's face. She was unnerved, but she was still surprised he would dare such a thing, especially since she looked into his eyes and saw no pupils there, just blank white.
"I'm only asking you this one more time." Leo said. "Where are Donnie and Hibari?"
Homura huffed. "You're actually daring to confront me about that even though you're feeling this power too?"
"I am." Leo said. "Like I said, Hibari is our friend and Donnie is my brother. I don't care what kind of power you have. I won't give up on protecting my family, no matter what."
Homura's powerful grin turned into an annoyed scowl. She sighed before closing the scroll in her hand. Once she did that, her immense presence subsided, and her power couldn't be felt anymore. Not only that, but the shinobi barrier was brought down.
"Enough. This is boring." Homura sighed. "After reaching that level, I realize that you're about as threatening to me as ants. There's no point in dealing with amateurs with delusions of grandeur."
"You really think I'm just going to let you walk a… OOF!" Leo was blindsided by a spin kick that Homura connected to him. Asuka caught him as he fell.
"I want nothing to do with you losers." Homura said. "If you really want to rescue your friends, you're welcome to try… as soon as you find out headquarters." One flash later, Homura wasn't there anymore and the two that remained took very deep breaths.
"Are you okay, Leo?" Asuka asked.
"I'm fine. But one thing's for sure: we need to find the Hebijo school as soon as possible."
Just outside of the school grounds, Homura stopped herself from moving still thinking about the events that happened a few minutes earlier. She couldn't stop thinking about what Leo did standing up to her. She had so much power, yet her mind was still directed to that. She was a little upset that it was all she was thinking about.
"Where good accepts few, evil accepts all."
That's the catchphrase of Hebijo. Good shinobi schools were very strict with a very little tolerance, evil shinobi schools were able to accept anyone. You can kill someone, come from an evil shinobi family, be ordinary people at first, or even betray Hebijo, but after all that, you can be forgiven and accepted into the school. That's what Hibari has been picking up all day.
Hibari laid in her room with those thoughts swirling in her head. "So… Hebijo is just like Hanzo, but a lot more open-minded. They're friends to each other. They all want to be shinobi. They're very strong. Aside from our schools, there really isn't a difference. The only issue is that headmaster. The more I hear about him, the more scared I am. Why do I have a feeling the Shredder has something planned?"
She stopped thinking hard after hearing a floor creak outside her room. She slowly opened her door and peeked out. To her left, she found Baxter Stockman walking through the hallway with a purple vial in his hand. Hibari widened her eyes noticing the Mouser that followed him.
"That guy… He must be the one who built that robot. He's the one who hurt Yagyu. What's he doing?"
Deciding to investigate, Hibari used every cloaking technique she had to tail Stockman. He traveled floor by floor with Hibari following him until he arrived at the Shredder's office. Stockman gulped before approaching him. Hibari knew to hold her breath since Shredder was clearly a master shinobi.
"Hey, Mr. Shredder." Stockman said nervously.
"What do you want, Stockman?" Shredder asked.
Stockman took a breath before continuing while holding up his purple vial. "I managed to get some results from the tests I performed on the turtle prisoner."
"And?"
"And I realized that he was just an ordinary turtle who was exposed to some kind of mutagenic element. Most likely, the other turtles are the same way."
"And this concerns me because…"
"Because I'm able to harness the mutagen that made him big. With the blood sample I took from him, I was able to isolate the mutated genes from the turtle DNA until I was able to reverse-engineer the mutagen that changed him. And if my theory is correct, we can apply this to other ninja." Hibari was shaking silently at the thought of it.
"Hebijo as a mutant army." Shredder said. "While it's not applicable to my plan, it would be a rather interesting bonus. How much can you make?"
"Well, that's the tricky part." Stockman said. "You see, even though I've isolated the mutagen from the turtle's DNA, I still can't begin to understand how it works. I can't make heads or tails of what it's made of, so I can't replicate it myself. The best I can do is make some from the turtle's blood. The issue is with this vial here, I only have enough mutagen to mutate one person."
"Then collect more." Shredder said. "Drain him dry if you have to." Hibari widened her eyes hearing that.
"But what about the girl? From the other school?" Stockman asked. "You promised her he'd be unharmed if she behaved."
"That girl has no access to where the turtle is held." Shredder said. "So what she doesn't know won't hurt her. I expect more mutagen soon. You have 24 hours."
After that, Hibari carefully sneaked out of the room. As soon as she returned to her room safely, she removed her disguise with fear shrouding her eyes.
"They're gonna kill Donnie!" she said to herself. "And they're going to turn all the girls here into monsters! They're much worse than Haruka thinks! I have to save Donnie tomorrow!"
What she didn't know was that outside, she had an eavesdropper. Suzune, the teacher of Hebijo, stood outside of her room keeping an ear close.
