Moving On

2nd May 1998

Joy. Jubilation. Happiness. Celebration.

The four words that could be used to describe what was happening in the Great Hall of Hogwarts at this very moment. Most of the people occupying the destroyed building celebrating the defeat of one of the darkest wizards of all time, Tom Marvolo Riddle who had styled himself as Lord Voldemort for as long as most people could remember.

Those who were not celebrating, however, were some of the survivors who had lost family and friends to the war between the Death Eaters and those defending Hogwarts.

One such person who was not celebrating with the other victors was the 17-year-old, black-haired wizard who had defeated Voldemort in single combat to end the battle, Harry James Potter who looked heartbroken and defeated as he sat alone in the Great Hall.

The Boy Who Lived, the Chosen One, the Boy who defeated the Dark Lord twice. Whatever you chose to call him they all bore the same message.

He was the hero of the Wizarding World.

Yet, in this moment of victory, Harry did not feel like the hero of the Wizarding World, he felt guilty that all of those brave, innocent people had died because of him.

Voldemort wanted him dead and did not care who got in his way on his mission to kill Harry, which made Harry wish that he had done things differently to save the lives of everyone else.

As Harry occasionally glanced far up the great hall to his left, he saw the major reason behind his guilt and grief.

The Weasley Family, who had been more of a family to him than his remaining family the Dursleys, all of whom were huddled together with his best friend Hermione Granger who Harry saw as the sister he never had.

Huddled together grieving for the loss of Fred Weasley who had been killed by the Death Eater Augustus Rookwood during the first attack by the Death Eaters. But also mourning the death of the only girl in the large family Ginerva "Ginny" Weasley, whose young sixteen-year-old life was extinguished in a flash by the crazed Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange, minutes before Harry defeated Voldemort once and for all.

Harry loved Ginny so much that, when he went to the Forbidden Forest to sacrifice himself to Voldemort (after finding out that he was Voldemort's last Horcrux), it was his love for Ginny and the memory of her kiss on his lips that were the last things on his mind as he was hit by Voldemort's Killing Curse.

Yet as he had done when he was a baby, Harry survived the Killing Curse, thanks to the blood protection given to him by his mother, giving him one final chance to defeat Voldemort once and for all.

In the end, despite defeating Voldemort for good, Harry found himself wishing that he had just died in the Forbidden Forest, believing that lives could have been saved had he just died at the hands of his arch-enemy.

Had Molly Weasley not killed her first, Harry would have let his dark side out and slowly tortured Bellatrix Lestrange before killing her without regret, not just for taking the life of the girl he loved but also for murdering his beloved Godfather Sirius Black during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries two years ago.

It was the grief he was feeling at losing the girl he loved so deeply that made him tear himself away from the Weasley Family and seclude himself in his grief away from everyone else, remaining numb when everyone in the Great Hall came up to him in small groups or on their own to thank him for defeating Voldemort.

After several words of thanks, Professor Mcgonagall had finally put a stop to it all, telling everyone to leave Harry alone, given how much he was grieving and wanted to be left alone.

He remembered hearing the gut-wrenching scream let out by his Head of House and Transfiguration Professor as the half-giant Hagrid carried what he presumed to be Harry's lifeless body into the courtyard.

Once she had done her part in ensuring that Harry was left alone as he desired, Professor Mcgonagall stepped towards him and swept him into a tight hug, having cared deeply about Harry and his well being ever since she had left him with his Aunt and Uncle seventeen years ago.

"I'm so sorry Potter… should you ever need to talk know that you can come to me, day or night… my door will always be open to you" said Professor Mcgonagall sadly, letting her tears drip onto the shoulder of the young man she had sworn to protect with her life, having to watch in horror as he went through hell year after year.

While he did not verbally express his thanks to the kind but strict Transfiguration Professor, Harry instead wrapped his arms around her chest, holding onto her as tightly as she held him like a mother would hold her child.

After nearly a minute, Professor Mcgonagall finally let go of Harry, pressing a motherly kiss to his forehead before leaving him, letting Hagrid (who Harry counted as one of his closest friends, having introduced him to the Wizarding World when he was a child) wrap Harry in his own hug, trying his hardest to let Harry know that he would always be there for him.

Once Hagrid had left him, Harry was just content to sit in solitude for as long as he could but those plans were halted when he felt someone take his hand and sit down next to him.

Looking to his left, Harry was met with the sight of long, slightly messy blonde hair and warm, kind silvery eyes that told a story of grief just like his own eyes did.

The unmistakable eyes of the 17-year-old Luna Pandora Lovegood, a strange but friendly girl who Harry had regarded as one of his close friends since the two met back in his Fifth Year.

"Come with me" said Luna softly but sternly.

"Why?" said Harry moodily.

Luna just squeezed his hand and leaned closer to him.

"Because being here is hurting you… you're afraid to let it all out in front of everyone else, come with me now Harry Potter" said Luna in a slightly more forceful tone that had elements of sadness and understanding to it.

Perhaps reluctantly, Harry got to his feet and allowed Luna to take hold of his arm and lead him out of the hall, away from the muted victory celebrations.

Fifteen minutes later…

Kneeling down next to Harry as he sat down in front of one of the trees on the edge of the Forbidden Forest, Luna squeezed his hand in support.

"Don't hold it in Harry… it will only hurt you more" said Luna softly.

Upon hearing the soft-spoken words falling from his friend's lips, Harry burst into tears launching himself into Luna's arms, sobbing into her chest and shoulder as he let every ounce of his grief rise to the surface.

Bringing her arms up to hold him close to her as he sobbed, Luna pressed her head against his shoulder in return.

"Let it all out Harry… don't let it eat you up inside… Ginny wouldn't want that" said Luna sadly, letting out her own grief at the loss of her best friend that fell in tears alongside his own.

As quickly as those last words had been spoken by her, Luna began to regret them, feeling like it would only make his grief even worse.

Yet, Harry, perhaps too busy with his own grief at the loss of the girl he loved, did not say anything harsh to her about not knowing what Ginny wanted from him.

By the time the two of them finally separated from their sad embrace, it felt like hours had passed, with Harry thanking her for being a good friend to him before the two slowly made their way back up to the castle.

2nd May 2004

Exactly six years might have passed since that fateful day. But for Harry, the second of May had always been a painful day for the now 23-year-old, messy black-haired Harry Potter, remembering the lives lost on that fateful day six years ago, including Ginny, with Harry still loving her to this day.

Neglecting to return to Hogwarts to complete his Seventh Year following the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry had instead moved in with the now widowed Andromeda Tonks and her orphaned Grandson Edward "Teddy" Lupin (Son of Remus and Nymphadora Lupin nee Tonks who died during the Battle of Hogwarts) in order to help care for Teddy, having been asked to become Teddy's Godfather by Remus.

While living with Andromeda and Teddy (the former of whom became a Mother figure of sorts to him), Harry studied hard for his Newt's, eventually gaining eight Newt qualifications after taking the exams at the Ministry Of Magic in June 1998.

Though he had originally wished to pursue a career as an Auror, those plans had been cancelled straight after the final battle with Harry deciding to reignite his interest in Quidditch, turning professional with the Falmouth Falcons as a Seeker.

Despite his career as one of the best Seekers in the British and Irish Quidditch League, Harry devoted a lot of his time to his Godson, determined to see that his Godson did not grow up as lonely and unloved as he had done.

Harry only wished that he could have devoted some of that free time to his friends, especially Ron and Hermione who he only saw on occasion, finding it hard to be around Ron especially, with Harry blaming himself for not protecting Ginny even though he knew his best friend did not blame him in the slightest.

Harry devoted so much of his time to raising Teddy with Andromeda Tonks, that Andromeda herself begged Harry to devote some of his time to make himself happy and perhaps starting his own family.

7th March 2001

"I know you cared deeply for Ginny, Harry… but you should not stop yourself from settling down and being happy, it should not stop you from finding a nice girl and having children of your own" said the 48-year-old, light-brown haired Andromeda Tonks nee Black.

The then 20-year-old Harry frowned as he sipped his tea, having heard these words many times during the last three years.

"Please Andromeda… please… I do not know if I can love another like I loved Ginny" said Harry sadly.

With a saddened look on her face, knowing how deep his pain went, Andromeda turned to their guest who was sat on the opposite settee in her sitting room as they enjoyed afternoon tea on one of Harry's days off from training with the Falmouth Falcons.

"You talk to him Cissy" said Andromeda.

The 45-year-old, blonde-haired Narcissa Malfoy nee Black who was seated opposite her older Sister and Harry, sipping her own cup of tea sighed.

"I know you do not want to hear it Mr Potter… but my Sister is right, if you think I am being harsh with my words then I do not blame you… but I am sure Miss Weasley would want you to be happy with your life, I doubt she would want you to spend the rest of your life wallowing in your grief of things that did not happen" said Narcissa softly.

Returning home from Quidditch practice three months before the day in question, Harry had been shocked and slightly angered at the presence of Narcissa in Andromeda's sitting room, overlooking the fact that the blonde-haired Mother of his school rival Draco Malfoy had saved his life that fateful day in the Forbidden Forest.

After a brief shouting match between himself and Narcissa, Harry had stormed out of the house in anger, going to stay at the Leaky Cauldron for a few days before he finally calmed down and returned home to apologise to Andromeda.

When Narcissa returned a week later, Harry immediately pulled her aside and apologised for his behaviour, thanking her for saving his life and telling her that he was glad that she and Andromeda had reconnected with each other after so many years apart.

13th December 2000

"I know you only lied to Voldemort so you could get into the castle to find Draco… but I never thanked you for saving my life that day, without you… I would not be here today… and I am so sorry for how I treated you last week" said Harry remorsefully at how he had behaved during their previous encounter.

With her arms folded and a stern look on her face as they stood opposite each other in the large back garden, Narcissa felt a great deal of pity towards the young man in front of her, knowing that he was only acting out of his grief when they argued last week.

Yet, it did not excuse the way he treated her and she wanted a proper apology from him which she got without difficulty.

"Apology accepted Mr Potter… and believe me… I am truly sorry for what happened to Miss Weasley, I loved my Sister and part of me will always love the person she was when we were children… but I am not blind to the fact that she was an evil person or that she hurt so many people" said Narcissa in a softer voice than Harry had ever heard from her.

At a loss for words in the situation, Harry instead stepped forwards and wrapped her in a hug, not entirely sure why he had initiated the hug in the first place.

Slowly, Narcissa returned the hug given to her by Harry, with the two standing there in complete silence as they hugged each other.

"I am glad you reached out to Andromeda… it is good for her that you reconnected" said Harry softly.

Hearing those words made Narcissa smile, catching sight of Andromeda in the open doorway, smiling at the sight before her.

The sight of her younger sister and the man who had become a son of sorts to her, finally putting aside their differences and accepting that she needed both of them in her life.

Snapping himself out of his thoughts, Harry almost jumped when his 25-year-old, black-haired teammate and friend Katie Bell came up behind him, clapping her hand on his shoulder.

"Team's going out for drinks in the Leaky Cauldron… come on" said Katie softly.

Feeling like a stiff drink was what he needed at the moment, Harry nodded to her.

Though she and Harry had dated for a few months last year and even hooked up a few times after they split up, they knew that they were better off just being friends and had remained as such since then.

For Harry, Katie was the first and so far only attempt he had made in finding a romantic partner but it had not worked out in the way he had hoped.

Given that she knew him so well, Katie knew that Harry was feeling rather sad at the moment and she pulled him into a comforting hug.

"I miss them too Harry… but we owe it to those we lost to live our lives to the fullest… to show them that they did not die for nothing" said Katie softly, giving him a gentle squeeze to show her support.

Harry sighed, knowing that she was right even if it did little to dull the pain he was feeling in his heart.

Later that night…

As he sunk his third Firewhiskey shot of the night, Harry placed his head in his hands as he sat at the bar, finding the alcohol to be an excellent way to deal with his pain.

After his teammates had called it a night half an hour ago and left, Harry had instead opted to stay at the Leaky Cauldron for a few more drinks, deciding to rent a room for the night so he would not have to go home slightly drunk.

Yet here in his solitude, Harry had never felt more alone than ever.

"Hello, Harry Potter" a voice called out to him.

A voice he had not heard in years.

Turning in the direction of the voice, Harry was stunned to see the now 23-year-old Luna Lovegood standing next to him.

Yet Luna was different from how he remembered her, given that she had grown up since he last saw her on the first anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts when the two of them, along with the DA, the Order Of The Phoenix and everyone else (both dead and alive) who fought against Voldemort and the Death Eaters attended a special ceremony at the Ministry Of Magic to honour the people they had lost during the war.

Since then, Harry had heard that Luna had left Magical Britain after achieving her Newt qualifications, travelling the world in search of new magical creatures, showing no signs of returning back to Magical Britain.

Thinking about her quite often over the years since she had left Magical Britain, Harry often wondered where her adventures were taking her and what wonderful things she was experiencing on her travels.

Now, the Luna that was standing next to him was filling out in all the right places, blessed with light curves that she did not have when they were in school together, with her long blonde hair now falling in waves around her shoulders while she was dressed in a sun-yellow, knee-length dress along with the radish earrings and butterbeer cork necklace she always used to wear in school.

Just like she was when he took her to Professor Slughorn's Christmas party in his Sixth Year, Harry thought that she looked rather nice.

"Luna… is that really you?" said Harry in shock.

Flashing her pearly white teeth at him with a soft smile, Luna moved closer to him.

"The Wrackspurts must be getting to your brain… given that you have to ask if I am really Luna" said Luna softly.

Of course, her way with words was one thing that would never change about Luna.

"Yeah… Wrackspurts" said Harry warily, knowing that Wrackspurts were not responsible for his shock at seeing her.

Luna smiled.

"You look like you could use a friend" said Luna softly.

Always appreciating her way with words, Harry felt thankful that she knew him well enough to know that he needed a friend in his moment of need.

He needed her just as he had done when Sirius had died in his Fifth Year and again when Ginny had died.

"Come on" said Luna softly, taking hold of his arm.

Gently guiding him off of his barstool, Harry took her hand as she led him over to an empty booth in the corner of the pub.

After settling him into the booth, Luna sat down next to him, with her closeness to Harry making him feel slightly nervous for reasons he could not place.

"It's nice to see you again… it's been what… five years since we last saw each other?" said Harry, trying not to sound as tipsy as he was given the amount of Firewhiskey he had consumed.

"Yes… at least the Wrackspurts have not affected your ability to tell the time… even if the Firewhiskey has" said Luna softly, with her words almost being perceived as a joke.

Harry smiled and placed his hand on top of her hand which was resting on the table.

"Lucky me eh… so… what have you been up to, last I heard you were off travelling the world" said Harry softly.

Glancing down at their hands with a small smile, Luna decided not to move her hand away from his.

"Yes… though I never came across the Crumple Horned Snorcack… I suspect Daddy might have been mistaken about that one, so I came back home… now I'm helping Daddy run The Quibbler instead, he's better now… after what happened during the war" said Luna softly.

Setting the pace for the conversation for the remainder of the night, Harry found himself having a rather enjoyable night with Luna.

Enjoying her company made him feel happier than he had felt in quite some time, which made him ask her if she would like to meet him for lunch at the Three Broomsticks on Sunday after Quidditch Practice.

"I'd like that very much Harry" said Luna softly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.

With a smile that hardly ever graced his face on the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry squeezed her hand in return, finding that he enjoyed the contact they were sharing.

"I'll see you on Sunday then… one o'clock sound good?" said Harry.

"I'm looking forward to it" said Luna kindly.

As the two stood up, they exchanged a lingering hug with each other before saying goodnight and going their separate ways, unaware that the few drinks they had shared with each other was the beginning of something wonderful for the both of them.

18th September 2004

Seeing her laugh as he concluded his story about how two of his teammates had been admitted to St Mungo's after taking each other out with Bludger's in training two weeks ago, Harry knew that his feelings for Luna had grown far beyond feelings of friendship.

Truthfully, the last four months he and Luna had been spending together since they were reunited that night at the Leaky Cauldron were magical memories for the both of them, spending so much time together that it made Harry want to take their friendship to a whole new level.

Knowing that he wanted the two of them to be more than friends, Harry had invited her around for dinner at Andromeda's house, with Andromeda being kind enough to take Teddy to visit Narcissa at her cottage for the night, letting Harry and Luna have the entire house to themselves for the night.

Having enjoyed a well-cooked dinner with each other, Harry had suggested that they crack open a bottle of wine and take their conversation over to the settee.

Going casual for the night, Luna was dressed in a pair of jeans and a silver blouse, complete with her radish earrings and butterbeer cork necklace.

Though her radish earrings and butterbeer cork necklace would make others mock Luna, Harry enjoyed the sight of her wearing them, loving the fact that Luna had stayed true to herself despite everything she had been through.

To Harry, Luna was one of the strongest people he had ever known and he would not change a single thing about her.

Perhaps that was why he fell in love with her in the first place.

Looking at her as she sat opposite him on the settee with a glass of wine in her hands, Harry thought she was undeniably beautiful.

She was so beautiful in his mind, that he could not take his eyes off her as they talked and laughed over a bottle of wine and it had been noticed by Luna.

"Do I have something on my face Harry… or can you see the Wrackspurts trying to get into my brain?" said Luna softly.

"No… why do you ask?" gulped Harry, knowing he had been caught.

"Because… you're staring at me again" said Luna softly, with a faint blush rising to her cheeks, knowing that he was staring at her for what felt like the hundredth time that night.

Harry took a big swig of his wine for Dutch courage before shifting closer to her slightly.

"Wrackspurts or no Wrackspurts… I can't take my eyes off you Luna, you look so beautiful" said Harry confidently.

Taking her hand as the blush on her cheeks intensified, Harry looked deep into her silvery eyes.

"Luna… I've been thinking so hard about how to tell you this for the last month… I pictured so many scenarios where I thought about how best to tell you… but I'm just going to come out and say it" said Harry softly, fighting to keep his nerves from breaking to the surface.

Luna swallowed nervously as she shifted closer to him, placing other her hand on his thigh and lacing their fingers together.

"What is it Harry?" said Luna nervously.

Harry took a deep breath.

"I never thought that I would fall in love again after Ginny but I… I've been in love with you for a while now, I love you Luna Pandora Lovegood, with all my heart… and I want us to be so much more than friends now" said Harry softly.

With her heart racing, Luna did the only thing she could think of and cupped his cheeks with her soft hands, gently pressing her lips to his.

As he kissed her, Harry felt his heart beating a thousand miles an hour with joy as he savoured the taste and feeling of her soft lips.

"I love you too Harry… and I want us to be more than friends too" said Luna, voice a mixture of happiness and nervousness.

Pulling her up onto his lap, Harry sought out her lips once again, this time with more passion and hunger as he gave her a kiss that took her breath away.

After several seconds, Luna slid sideways off of his lap, draping her legs over his and resting her head on his shoulder with a soft smile on her face, happy that she and Harry had finally given in to their feelings and taken the step from close friends to happy couple.

After all, they were made for each other as Luna believed and she did not doubt that Harry shared that opinion.

"My sweet, lovely Luna… you are the best thing that ever happened to me… with only my Godson beating you in the love department" said Harry softly before pressing his lips to hers.

Luna dropped her head to his shoulder and squeezed his hand tightly, having slowly fallen in love with him as they spent more time together over the last four months.

"Teddy is a sweet little boy… and he has a great Godfather who loves him so dearly" said Luna softly.

Harry frowned and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"It's just a shame… that his parents don't get to see him grow up… Andromeda cried when she had to tell him why he didn't live with his parents" said Harry sadly.

Luna sighed and squeezed his hand.

"I know… but he is a lucky child, thanks to you and his Grandmother he will never grow up without love" said Luna.

Harry smiled and gave her a loving kiss.

"You're amazing, you know that?" said Harry softly before giving her another kiss.

Feeling content to stay there in his arms, Luna stayed close to him as they cuddled and talked over the bottle of wine they were sharing.

19th September 2004

Waking up as the sunlight came through his curtains, Harry looked down at Luna who had her arm draped across his chest as she slept peacefully in his arms.

Having thoroughly enjoyed each other's company for three pleasant hours last night, Harry and Luna, perhaps slightly tipsy from the wine they were sharing, finally decided to take the party upstairs to Harry's bedroom.

What followed was a night of pure love and untameable passion for the both of them, exploring and indulging in each other's bodies for what felt like an eternity before the exhausted and satisfied lovers drifted off to sleep in each other's arms, ready for their future together.

Many people might have frowned at how fast they were moving given that they had wasted little time in going from kissing to jumping into bed together but Harry and Luna would not care. As far as they were concerned they were doing what felt right for them and the happy couple would not deny that they knew their relationship was built to last.

Looking down into her eyes as they slowly crept open, Harry smiled and pressed a gentle good morning kiss to Luna's soft lips.

"Morning … sleep well?" said Harry softly.

Luna smiled and snuggled into his chest, feeling happy that years of Quidditch had helped him keep in shape and given him a six-pack to boot.

"Very well… after what we did last night I slept like a log" said Luna softly, cheeks reddening as she remembered their wonderful night together.

His cheeks turning the same shade of red as her, Harry pressed a tender kiss to her forehead as she closed her eyes in delight.

"I know we have both been with other people before last night… but making love to you was so much better than any other experience I had, the connection we shared last night was so much deeper" said Harry softly.

Tilting her head up to kiss him, Luna had also felt that deep connection last night, taking the connection they shared as proof that they were meant to be together.

After staying in each other's arms in bed for a few hours, Harry and Luna finally got out of bed and got dressed for the day.

Twenty minutes later…

Leading her downstairs so she could floo home half an hour after they left the bed, Harry stopped in his tracks when he heard Andromeda call out to them.

"Good night was it?" said Andromeda who was sitting in her favourite lounge chair sipping from a mug of tea.

Seeing the wicked smirk on her face being directed at him made Harry turn red with slight embarrassment, knowing that Andromeda knew what he had gotten up to last night.

"Well, bring her over Harry… introduce me to this lovely young lady" said Andromeda softly.

With a nervous smile on her face at meeting the woman who had become a second mother of sorts to her boyfriend, Luna remained silent as Harry led her over to Andromeda to introduce the two of them to each other.

Introductions that went splendidly well to Luna's delight, with Andromeda insisting that she join them for dinner one night very soon.

2nd May 2005

Having been with Luna for a wonderful eight months now, Harry had quickly realised that she was the one, knowing that they were destined to spend the rest of their lives together.

Hence the reason for the ring box weighing heavily in the pocket of his jacket which was underneath the both of them, which was making him more nervous than he had ever been in his entire life, knowing that this was a big step for the both of them to take.

Yet, looking at Luna now as she ate some strawberries and cream, dressed in a light-blue and white summer dress with two of her favourite sunflowers woven into her blonde hair, Harry knew that there was no one else he wanted to spend his life with. Telling her that she looked like an angel as they enjoyed their sunny, romantic picnic atop a grassy hill near her childhood home.

Shifting closer to her, Harry picked up one of the strawberries, dipping it into the cream before feeding it to her.

"Luna… will you marry me?" said Harry softly, slipping his hand into his jacket pocket and taking the ring box.

Luna froze up as she slowly took the ring box from him, opening it to reveal a sparkly diamond engagement ring before returning her gaze back to him.

"I know it's only been eight months Luna… but to me, that's more than long enough to know that you're the only woman I want, you put me back together when I was broken for so long, you're amazing with Teddy and he loves you to bits… I love you to bits Luna… and I want to spend the rest of my life with you" said Harry softly, keeping his eyes on hers with each word.

Luna swallowed nervously before her smile widened and she nodded.

Nodding that she accepted his proposal, too nervous and excited to say anything to him, Luna let him slide the ring up her finger, heart beating rapidly as it slid into place.

Wrapping her arms around him, Luna slid up onto his lap and kissed him softly, with their kiss lasting for several seconds before they finally broke apart and pressed their foreheads together.

"I spoke to Andromeda last night… I told her that I was going to propose to you and we came to a decision… about Teddy?" said Harry softly.

Luna nodded.

"You want me to be his Godmother?" said Luna testily.

Harry kissed her forehead softly.

"He thinks the world of you Luna… and he's such an important part of my life, just as you are… and I would be honoured if you agreed to be his Godmother" said Harry softly.

Pressing a kiss to his lips, Luna let out a breathy "Yes" which made Harry jump for joy internally.

It was really going to happen, he and Luna were going to get married, and from this day forwards, they were going to build a life they deserved together.

Falling back to the blanket with their arms wrapped around each other and their lips locked together, they knew that they were ready for the future together.

"I've been looking at a house in Godric's Hollow… going to see it on Wednesday actually" said Harry softly, looking down into her eyes.

Luna smiled and started to trace her name on his back.

"A house… let me guess… you want me to come and look at it as well?" said Luna with a loving smile on her face.

"And that's why I love you so much… you're so smart" said Harry softly.

Luna smirked.

"Only because I'm smart… nothing else?" said Luna cheekily.

Leaning down into her ear, Harry pressed a kiss to her earlobe.

"Do you want a list?" whispered Harry.

Luna bit her lip before pressing a kiss to his temple, wrapping her arms tightly around Harry's back, pulling him closer to her.

24th May 2005

Feeling him squeeze her hand tightly, seeking comfort and support as they walked up the grassy path towards the Burrow, which stood at several rickety stories tall as if it had been modified many times over the years, Luna turned to Harry with concern written all over her face.

"Are you sure you want to do this… I know the Weasley's are like a second family to you but if you're not ready for this we can come back another time" said Luna supportively.

Knowing that Harry needed to do what he was about to do, Luna was prepared to do anything and everything possible to support him.

After all, she had promised her life to this man and she was prepared to do anything for him.

"No… I need to do this now, they deserve to know" said Harry, pulling her into his side and pressing his lips to her temple, inhaling the scent of her mint shampoo as he did so.

Wrapping her arm around his waist, Luna pressed herself into his side as they approached the back door leading into the Burrow, catching the shocked eye of the 55-year-old, long red-haired Molly Weasley who was dressed in a frayed cream dress and a dark red apron as she was washing dishes in her sink.

Having only seen each other across a crowded room at George's wedding to Angelina Johnson two and a half years ago, Harry had seldom had any interaction with Molly Weasley or any of the other Weasleys since then.

Sure, he had seen Hermione and Ron on a few occasions before and after George's wedding, with his two closest friends set to get married this December.

But other than that, he barely had any interaction with the Weasley Family, with the guilt he felt about Ginny and Fred (particularly Ginny) making him avoid spending any time with the family who gave him a second home during his school years.

As the back door to the Burrow opened and Molly Weasley stepped out, looking at the both of them in shock.

As if she could not believe that Harry was walking up the path towards her house without so much as a whisper that he would stop by today.

As they approached Molly Weasley, Harry felt nervous that his visit would not be a welcome one.

Nerves that were quashed when Molly Weasley wrapped him in a tight, motherly hug.

"It's so good to see you again, it's been so long… come in, come in" said Molly, sounding saddened but also relieved that he was there.

After letting go of Harry, it was then that Molly caught sight of Luna who was watching the whole interaction with a smile on her face.

"You too Luna… come in, both of you… I'll make us some tea" said Molly.

After she had guided Harry and Luna into the Burrow, Molly waved her wand at the kettle levitating it over to the sink so it could fill itself up with water before moving towards the sitting room.

"Arthur… Harry and Luna are here" shouted Molly in the direction of the sitting room.

"Harry… Harry Potter!" shouted Arthur from the sitting room.

"Yes… I couldn't believe it myself when I saw them walking up the path!" shouted Molly.

"Send them in!" shouted Arthur.

Molly stepped away from the open archway entrance leading to the sitting room, moving back towards the sink as the kettle filled itself with water.

"Go on through… take a seat and I'll be through in a moment with the tea" said Molly.

Taking Luna's hand once more, Harry slowly led her through to the sitting room, finding the 55-year-old, thinning red-haired Arthur Weasley who was dressed in a large knitted sweater and trousers with his spectacle glasses perched on his nose, sat in his armchair as he was reading his book.

Upon hearing them enter the room, Arthur looked up at Harry and Luna with a shocked smile on his face.

"Harry, Luna… to what do we owe this pleasure?" said Arthur in shock.

Harry took a deep breath and glanced at Luna who sent him a supportive nod as she squeezed his hand.

"Mr Weasley… Luna and I have something to tell you, something important" said Harry with a hint of nervousness in his voice.

Arthur gave them a small, understanding nod as they sat down opposite him on the settee.

Waiting with nervous silence for Molly to come into the sitting room with drinks for the four of them, Harry was on edge about what was about to happen minutes from now.

Knowing he had no reason to be nervous given the close relationship he shared with the Weasley Family, particularly Arthur and Molly who always went out of their way to make him feel at home at the Burrow, Harry could not help but dread that they might not take his news well.

Ten minutes later…

"So… not that it's not lovely to see you both… but you said you had something to tell us" said Molly, sipping her tea while keeping her eyes on Harry and Luna, curiosity was written all over her face.

Harry took a sip of tea to steady himself.

"Yes… you see… Luna and I are… we're…" said Harry before trailing off slightly.

Luna gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek before turning back to Molly and Arthur.

"We're engaged… we're getting married in August" said Luna with a soft smile and a gentle squeeze of his hand, completing Harry's sentence for him.

Carefully watching Molly and Arthur for any reaction, Harry and Luna felt tense all of the sudden.

"Congratulations" said Arthur, breaking the silence around the room.

"This is great news… but why were you so nervous… oh" said Molly, beaming with pride before she finally understood why Harry was on edge.

Echoing his Wife's thoughts, Arthur leaned forwards, placing his cup on the table with his shoulders on his knees and his hands clasped together.

"You were worried about telling us… because of Ginny?" said Arthur testily.

As Harry nodded to them, Molly sighed.

"We still miss her… Fred too, there's not a day that goes by that we don't think about them… and I know you and Ginny were very close Harry… but it's been seven years now, you deserve to be happy… and if you and Luna make each other happy, then we're happy for you" said Molly softly, almost as if she were trying her hardest to comfort him.

"Thank you… for being so understanding" said Harry, sounding relieved.

Molly finished her tea and went to refill it from the teapot on the table.

"We've always thought of you as a son Harry, always… and it hurt us all when you distanced yourself from our family… but we understood your reasons for staying away" said Molly softly.

Upon hearing that, Harry felt completely at ease with the situation he found himself in, feeling like he was mending his slightly strained relationship with the Weasleys.

By the time Harry and Luna left two hours later, having enjoyed their visit to the Burrow greatly.

Before they left, they had been invited to dinner at the Burrow this Sunday, with Molly almost pleading with them to attend, saying that the entire Weasley family (with the exception of Charlie Weasley) would be attending.

Agreeing to attend dinner this coming Sunday before they left, Harry and Luna decided to walk the mile-long journey across the lush fields to her Father's house, with plans to have dinner with her Father before they went home to their house in Godric's Hollow.

28th May 2005

"Who are the extra chairs for Mum?" said the 25-year-old, stocky, ginger-haired Ronald Billius Weasley as he took his seat next to his 25-year-old, bushy brown-haired Fiance Hermione Granger around the large table leading outside of the Burrow.

After graduating Hogwarts with his required Newt grades, Ron had joined the Aurors, though he eventually left in late 2003, now working alongside George and Angelina at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes instead, finding that being an Auror was not the right career path for him in the end.

Gaining ten Newt's after finishing her Seventh Year at Hogwarts, Hermione had quickly taken a job in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, working hard to improve the living and working conditions of House Elves all around Magical Britain.

Noticing that two extra chairs had been placed at the far end of the enlarged table which would seat fifteen or sixteen people comfortably had some of the others feeling slightly puzzled at who else would be attending dinner this evening.

Also joining Ron and Hermione around the table that evening were Molly and Arthur, both of whom were seated at the head of the table, William "Bill" Weasley, Fleur Weasley nee Delacour and their two Daughters Victoire, aged 4 and Dominique, aged 11 months (who was in the arms of her Mother), Percy Weasley, his Wife Audrey Weasley nee Fairway who was holding onto their newborn Daughter Lucy, George Weasley and Angelina Weasley nee Johnson along with their 1-year-old Son Fred II Weasley, named after the late Fred Weasley.

As the large extended Weasley Family settled down for dinner, several of them heard the unmistakable sound of apparation from the bottom of the path leading up to the Burrow.

Turning to look in the direction of the noise, all of them, with the exception of Molly, Arthur and their grandchildren were shocked when they saw who was making their way up the path.

"Harry!" said Hermione in shock, jumping to her feet in shock as she watched Harry and Luna walking towards the table arm in arm, with both of them clearly looking to make an impression given how smartly they were dressed.

Having known that her best friend had been dating Luna Lovegood for several months now (with Ron also finding out at the same time), Hermione was not surprised to see the two of them together even though the rest of the Weasley's were surprised to see such a sight.

Still, she was shocked to see the both of them here tonight, not even being aware that they were coming over for dinner tonight.

As Harry and Luna sat down in their seats, with Harry pulling Luna's chair out so she could sit down, all the eyes of the adults at the table were on them.

Announcing their engagement to the rest of the Weasleys was just as easy as it should have felt to tell Molly and Arthur the other day, with all of the Weasleys congratulating them on their engagement.

On multiple occasions during the meal, Bill and George enjoyed making a few jokes about how Ron had taken Hermione to the Chudley Cannon's home match against the Falmouth Falcons two months ago, only to leave in bitter disappointment when Falmouth slaughtered Chudley four-hundred and thirty to twenty, with Harry catching the Golden Snitch before Chudley's Seeker even saw it.

Safe to say, Ron was not pleased that his lousy date with Hermione was becoming the butt of multiple jokes around the table, with his ears turning even more red each time it was turned into a joke for everyone's amusement, with even Hermione sharing a few chuckles about it every once in a while.

Later that night…

"What a lovely evening" said Luna softly as she climbed under the covers in their king-size, four-poster bed, having loved the bed from the moment they laid eyes on it.

Joining her in their bed, Harry gave her a kiss before sliding up to her, taking her in his arms as they cuddled up together.

"It sure was" said Harry softly before giving her another kiss.

Resting her head on his shoulder, Luna smiled as she traced her finger on his chest, occasionally slipping her fingers in between the ends of his button-up shirt, running them over his toned chest.

"It was so nice of them to invite us again for Dominique's birthday next month… perhaps we should bring Teddy with us as well" said Luna softly as she rested her head on his upper chest.

Harry pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"I can never thank you enough… for treating Teddy like he was your own child" said Harry softly, pressing another gentle kiss to her forehead.

Luna smiled and tilted her head up to look at him.

"He's our Godson… but truthfully, he's more like an actual son to me than a godson" said Luna with a nervous smile on her face.

Placing his finger under her chin, Harry tilted her head up and gave her a kiss.

"I guess this is practice of sorts then… looking after Teddy will help us become better parents… for when we have children of our own" said Harry, with a nervous tone for the last part.

With both of them blushing at the thought of having children of their own, they gazed lovingly into each other's eyes as they shared a few kisses before they finally went to sleep in each others arms.

24th August 2005

Having been told by Luna (when he saw her at Bill and Fleur's wedding in 1997) that she believed wearing sun colours to a wedding brought good luck, Harry should have known that Luna would have forgone a traditional white wedding dress for something much more quirky and eccentric as he watched her 54-year-old Father Xenophillius Lovegood lead her up the aisle towards him, with her bridal party following close behind them.

Reflecting her quirky and eccentric personality, Luna's wedding dress had been decorated with all the colours of the rainbow and several spangles, resulting in quite a few curious and in some cases, amused looks from their guests as she made her way up the aisle.

She had also forgone the traditional wedding veil in favour of a tiara made up of silver unicorn horns along with a bouquet of sunflowers and daisies clutched tightly in her hands as her Father supported her, dressed in his own yellow dress robes.

With the soon to be Mr and Mrs Potter living in Godric's Hollow, the two decided to use the large church in the village for their wedding, with the reception to be held in an abandoned farmhouse outside of the village, which had been given a magical makeover to look like a palace for what Luna described as the perfect venue.

When she finally reached Harry at the altar, he took both of her hands in his as she stepped in front of him, keeping her eyes on him with a nervous smile on her face.

Though this was the day they had been waiting for since they got engaged three months ago, Luna was just as nervous as he was in this situation, knowing that minutes from now, their lives would be forever changed.

18th March 2009

"And you really want to do this… that nothing will change your mind?" said the now 28-year-old Luna supportively, lying back on the bed in the most comfortable position to accommodate her pregnancy as the now 28-year-old Harry rubbed her ankles and feet soothingly.

Being seven months pregnant with their fourth child, Luna had spent most of the last two months at home, having three young children to care for as well as her job running the Quibbler on her own now that her father had passed the reins onto her.

The couple's first children were the Twins James Sirius Potter and Pandora Selene Potter (aged two going on three), with James being named after the late James Potter and Sirius Black while Pandora was named after her late Grandmother Pandora Lovegood.

Following the Twins was their now 1-year-old Daughter Lily Ginerva Potter, with both Harry and Luna agreeing to name their second Daughter after Lily Potter and Ginny Weasley.

While she was left juggling her demanding job (thankfully working from home) and their three children, Harry's Quidditch career had soared over the last four years, capturing titles, awards and honours year after year, meaning that he spent days away from home at a time, driving a rift between himself and Luna at the worst of times.

Though the rift could be bad at times, it always seemed to make the two of them stronger in the end, with no amount of needless arguments being able to break the strong condition of love between them.

Perhaps that was why Harry had come to reach the decision he had made, to finally retire from Professional Quidditch come the end of the season in May.

A decision that he had only revealed to Luna thus far.

"But you love playing Quidditch Harry… do you really want to give that up?" said Luna kindly.

Sitting up and moving her legs across to dangle over the side of the bed, Luna felt him take her hands and kiss them deeply as she looked down at him.

"I do… but I hate what it's doing to me… what it is doing to us as a family" said Harry softly with a hint of regret in his voice.

Luna frowned.

"I know we've had our rocky times Harry… but none of that can break us apart" said Luna flatly.

Harry sighed and pressed another deep kiss to her knuckles.

"We both know that nothing will tear me away from you, ever… but I can't help but feel like I'm missing out on the important things in life… like watching my children and my godson grow up, I don't want to be like that any more Luna, I want to be a dad that our children look up to" said Harry.

"The kids do look up to you… they love you so much as do I, don't you dare think of yourself as a bad Father Harry Potter" said Luna in a serious voice.

Taking a deep breath, Harry rose up to meet her, placing his hands on either side of her hips so they were level with each other's faces.

"I know… but I hate being gone for days at a time, I hate having to come home too tired to spend more than twenty minutes or so with the kids, only to leave again a few days later… I hate having to watch you work yourself to the bone to look after the kids and do your job at the same time… it kills me to see you not being able to have much time to yourself, especially since you got pregnant again" said Harry sadly.

Sighing before giving him a soft kiss, Luna wiped a single tear from his eyes.

"Harry… I'm pregnant, not immobile" said Luna softly.

Harry chuckled before he felt Luna kiss him again.

"But if you really want to do this… then I'm behind you one-hundred percent" said Luna supportively.

Moving around the bed until he was behind her, Harry started to rub Luna's shoulders with that magic touch she had grown to love and cherish.

"I love you and the kids… and I want to be here for you when you need me the most" said Harry softly, drinking in the soft sighs and coo's Luna was making as he rubbed her shoulders.

"What about work… I know we have enough money to live comfortably but surely you do not plan to give up working full stop" said Luna, closing her eyes as she relished how good it felt was to feel Harry rubbing her shoulders.

Harry tilted her head to the side before kissing her neck.

"I might see if that offer from Nimbus is still on the table… from what they told me, it sounds like I might only have to work a few days each week" said Harry softly, making reference to the offer he had received from the Nimbus Broomstick Company at the end of the last Quidditch season, being offered a position as a test flier for their new broomsticks.

1st September 2017

Sat down on top of the trunks on their older twin Siblings trolleys as they were wheeled through Kings Cross Station towards the hidden entrance leading to Platform Nine and Three Quarters, the now 9-year-old Lily Ginerva Potter and 8-year-old Lysander Xenophillius Potter (named after his Grandfather Xenophillius Lovegood) were feeling a little bit disappointed that they were not allowed to join James and Pandora at Hogwarts.

In addition to their trunks, both twins were sporting an owl each which were confined in cages on their trolleys.

Now eleven years old, James and Pandora took after their Father in looks with black hair and bright green eyes, though James did not need glasses like his Father, unlike Pandora who had steel-rimmed glasses framing her green eyes.

Sharing a similar personality with Harry, James was Quidditch mad while Pandora was just as eccentric as her Mother, sporting Luna's old butterbeer cork necklace as well as a rolled-up edition of the Quibbler under her left arm, being careful not to let the surrounding muggles see it.

Walking behind their children, were Harry and Luna watching with pride as their two eldest children were finally beginning their Hogwarts journey.

Approaching the hidden entrance to Platform Nine and Three Quarters, Lily and Lysander climbed off of the trolleys before walking back towards their Parent's so their older Siblings could make their first journey through the entrance.

Excited, James and Pandora tightened their grips on their trolleys before running at full tilt towards the entrance, with Pandora following James who went first.

Remembering their own first times passing through the hidden entrance, Harry and Luna watched with great pride before leading their younger children towards the entrance, having not passed through it since the end of Teddy's Fifth Year back in June 2015.

Walking along the bustling platform, which was a sea of families fussing over their children as they prepared to board the magnificent Hogwarts Express.

One such family were several feet in front of them, with Harry and Luna looking forward to seeing them again.

"Bag… jumper?" said Hermione Weasley nee Granger, as she made sure her 11-year-old, long red-haired Daughter Rose Autumn Weasley had everything she needed before she got on the train.

Stood next to Hermione was Ron Weasley who had his arm around the shoulders of the 9-year-old, short red-haired Hugo David Weasley.

As the Potters approached them, Hermione wrapped Rose in a tight hug, kissing her forehead lovingly.

Rose Weasley was not the only Weasley to be starting her First Year this year, with the 11-year-old Roxanne Alicia Weasley also starting this year while her older Brother Fred II Weasley starting his Third Year, with both children saying goodbye to their parents George and Angelina Weasley before boarding the train.

Stood several feet away from the Potter's and Weasley's, were Bill and Fleur, saying their own farewells to their two Daughter's Victioire (Sixth Year Ravenclaw Prefect) and Dominique (Third Year Gryffindor) as they prepared to board the train while their 8-year-old Son Louis held onto his Mother's hand. Also stood with them was the now 18-year-old Teddy Lupin, giving Victoire his love as he kissed her goodbye, promising to write to her soon.

"Now Lucy… remember to work hard and be good while you're at school" with Percy Weasley's voice carried down the platform, imploring his 12-year-old Daughter Lucy Weasley (Second Year Gryffindor) to behave herself and work hard while at school.

As Harry helped James and Pandora onto the train, he glanced down the platform meeting the eye of Draco Malfoy, who was seeing his 11-year-old Son Scorpius Tobias Malfoy off to Hogwarts for his First Year alongside his 35-year-old, brown-haired Wife Astoria Malfoy nee Greengrass.

While he and Draco were not and would never presume to be friends, the two had patched up their differences several years ago (when both men and their respective partners had been invited to tea with Andromeda and Narcissa), deciding to have a private talk outside where they apologised for their past behaviours and agreed to be civil with each other, even though they would never call each other friends.

Sharing a nod with the man who had once been his school rival, Harry turned back to his family as James and Pandora managed to find a compartment to share with Rose and Roxanne Weasley.

As they moved down the platform to the compartment where their children were sat, Harry placed his hands on Lysander's shoulders while Lily took hold of one of Luna's arms, with both children looking sad that their older Siblings would be apart from them for the next three months.

Twenty minutes later…

Resting her head on Harry's shoulder, Luna and Harry waved goodbye and blew kisses to their children as the Hogwarts Express started to pull away from the platform, with students pressing themselves against the glass compartment windows as they waved and shouted goodbye to their families.

Later that night…

"RAVENCLAW!" shouted the Sorting Hat.

After Assistant Headmaster Professor Filius Flitwick removed the Sorting Hat from her head, via a Levitation Charm, Pandora, now dressed in her school robes, climbed down from the stool before making her way over to the cheering Ravenclaw table, most of whom were on their feet applauding as they welcomed their newest Ravenclaw.

When James had been sorted into Gryffindor just before she had been called up to be Sorted, Pandora knew that she and her Brother would be moving in different directions when it came to their school lives.

Though she knew that she might be clutching at straws, she hoped that her best friend Rose would be sorted into Ravenclaw with her so they would be able to spend more time together at school.

Hopes that were dashed a few minutes later as Rose was sorted into Gryffindor. Yet with the look sent Pandora's way by Rose as she made her way over to the Gryffindor table telling Pandora that she and Rose would still be as close as they always were despite their separate school Houses.

THE END.
