The Jedi Council couldn't believe it when Anakin called and told them the public didn't believe the Temple should be rebuilt. So, Anakin went to speak with newly elected Chancellor Bail Organa to see if he could help at all.
As it turned out, there were some citizens as well as politicians on Coruscant and other worlds who blamed the Jedi for the Clone War and the corruption the public faced, and so they thought the Temple being destroyed was a fitting punishment for them. Many were also saying the Jedi were stupid, considering they didn't realize a Sith Lord was right in front of them, leading the Senate, or that he'd orchestrated the entire war!
"But, sure the Jedi were messed up before," said Gabby. "But they've come to make a lot of changes that helped make them better."
"Unfortunately, Gabriella, not everyone sees it that way." Bail said. "Personally, I believe you, but a few minds will need a little more convincing."
"How are we supposed to do that?" asked Boba.
"Unless you can convince more people, there are those who would rather buy the property and use the space to build an entirely new structure."
"What?!" everyone said.
"Then where would the other Jedi go?" Anakin said. "They can't stay in everyone's palaces forever. A few of our friends still haven't worked out all their issues with their roommates."
"I can try to buy some time, but it won't be easy." Bail said. "You could try to buy the property yourselves, but the likelihood is that many will bid highly on it."
"Well, if the public perception of the Jedi is what's stopping us from rebuilding our friends' home," said Gabby. "Then we need to help the people see them differently."
"And how do we do that?" Omega asked.
"Social media. Obviously we can't have it done by a member of our family because we're too close to them and some might see that as nepotism. But, we know someone who's great with social media."
"Okay, so explain to me again what you need me to do?" said Princess Esther, Memoria's older sister, also known as internet celebrity Queen Esther the Esth-ounding, as her fans called her.
"We need your help to change the public opinion of the Jedi." Gabby said.
"Right now, they're seen as corrupt and blind." Anakin said, getting out his phone and showing Esther some comments he'd found online. "Look at what people are saying."
TwoStar47: If the Jedi are so great, why couldn't they tell a Sith Lord was in the Senate?
QueenBea23: Jedi Masters? More like All-Lie masters. They couldn't even tell where a Sith Lord was hiding
KingofFlees-003: The Jedi would suck at Hide and Seek
OrionsBolt-473: Can you believe they call themselves peacekeepers? Now their home is in pieces.
LunaMare45: The Jedi deserved what came to them. Lots of people lost their homes in the war. Why shouldn't they?
"Wow. The comments just get meaner." Esther said, scrunching her nose at the nasty comments.
"You know so much about influencing on social media." Gabby said. "We need as much help as we can get to change the public opinion of the Jedi."
"Okay, then. I know exactly where we should start." Esther said. "First thing we gotta do is get to know a few Jedi. Anakin, tell the Jedi Council to be prepared for hair, makeup, and wardrobe. Gabby, talk to as many younglings as possible, and get me the names of every Padawan the Council has here, and anyone who worked at the Temple who's been given a job here."
"What about Council members who don't have hair?" Anakin said.
"Tell them to be prepared for makeup and wardrobe." Esther said. "And tell Master Plo to have his claws filed. Presentation is half of what makes an interview successful."
"What are you gonna do?" Lamenta asked.
"The first thing they do for reality shows." said Esther. "Interviews."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Boba said. "I've heard about reality shows and seen one once. They only bring out the worst in people and turn friends against each other."
"Relax, Boba. We're not filming Keeping up with the Constellations." Esther said. "Trust me. We're gonna change everything the people say about the Jedi now, and get the Temple rebuilt. But honestly, you couldn't find a spell to rebuild it?"
"I'm still looking." Gabby said. "But strangely, structure building spells are even harder than one that restores a lost arm."
"It was only convenient that I happened to be sleeping when she cast it." Anakin said, waving his right arm.
"Well, while you're off spell-searching, we'll get to work." Esther said.
