CHAPTER 35: IN SYBILLA'S CAVE

On the Matter of the Sixth Chakra

The light chakra is located at the third-eye. It represents true sight and is blocked by illusion. Its representative gemstone is the amethyst.

In order to open this chakra, one must renounce all illusions that she or he hold about the world.

– From the Book of Fay

Sybilla's Mirror, United Kingdom

"Shh," Musa whispered as they crept around the rocks.

Tecna gazed around. She, Musa, Roxy, and their Pixies and Specialists were in Britain with the Wizards, searching for the islet of Avalon. The place where Sibylla's Cave was located.

It had been decided that Bloom, Stella, Flora, Layla, and their respective Pixies and Specialists would not accompany them. They were staying back to train for the big fight against High Faerie Queen Morgana that would take place. She moved forward, gazing around.

They were at Sibylla's Mirror, a lake within Camelot. Knowing that they'd have to be careful, considering that the Warrior Fairies were around, they headed towards the lake. Ogron sighed, his shoulders sagging at the weight of supporting Merlin.

"So this is where we're coming to seek justice, is it?" he murmured. "Paradise looks even more beautiful than I remember it."

"You mean when you came here and destroyed it." Roxy glared at him, her arms still crossed. "And locked all my people away."

"Yes," Duman said, a similar amount of weariness in his eyes. "Like then."

"We're gonna make sure you stay safe," Tecna promised. She knew it wouldn't be easy to forgive the Wizards for what they'd done; after all, they'd nearly killed Morgana and forced Roxy into hiding. At the same time, she knew they deserved justice – true justice – for what they'd done. Suddenly, she froze as her cyborg sensors detected something. WARRIOR FAIRIES 30 METERS AWAY.

"Hide!" she hissed, grabbing Timmy and Digit and pulling them behind a rock. The Wizards hid as well. Two Warrior Fairies were flying towards them, complaining to one another.

"I swear, if Lady Nebula makes us scout this perimeter one more time, I'm gonna leave," one of them complained. "Where do they expect the Winx to be, waiting for us behind a rock?"

"I know," the other one agreed. "It's so" – His voice caught off as he saw Roxy, Musa, and the others standing in front of them.

"The Winx!" he shrieked, quite forgetting his claims the second before. "Raise the alarm!"

"Quick!" Riven drew his sword, as did Musa. Roxy and the Pixies drew spells. Roxy was the first one to hex the fairies, shouting, "Scorpion's slap!"

"Roxy, no!" Musa shouted. "We don't want to hurt them!"

But it was too late. Tecna watched as the fairies fell from the air, hitting the ground. Musa sheathed her sword and glared at Roxy.

"That was a stupid idea," she snapped. "Now they're gonna be after us even more!"

"Let's go!" Riven shouted. "Before more of them show up!"

Tecna, Musa, and Roxy transformed. The Specialists mounted their flying-saucers, pulling the Wizards onto each of them. They flew over the lake, heading towards the mists.

Musa couldn't believe how stupid and impulsive Roxy was being. She seriously injured two Warrior Fairies – they could've died! She glared at Roxy, whose arms were somehow still crossed, even as she was flying.

"What were you thinking?" she snapped. "You could've killed them!"

"So you're gonna give me another lecture now?" Roxy snapped. "I got them out of the way, didn't I? Even if I had to defend the stupid Wizards, I still managed to save us."

"I can't believe this." Musa shook her head. "You're acting every bit the way a fairy princess shouldn't act. Why have you been acting this way? I know your mother has really upset you, but still" –

"Just leave me alone, okay?" Roxy exploded. "I don't need you to tell me what I should and shouldn't do! I don't need you to tell me what I should!"

"Can we stop arguing and focus on our mission for one second?" Tecna asked wearily. "Look ahead!" She pointed at the mists ahead.

Musa stared. Ahead of them was Avalon, the famed island. It was covered completely in mist, and ahead, she could see the pristine trees. She shuddered.

"I don't see anything." Roxy's sulky voice filled the air.

Musa stared at her. "What?"

"We don't see anything either." Anagan now spoke. "All that's ahead is mist."

Only a true seeker of justice can reach the island. Musa realized that, since the Wizards had done so many wrong deeds in the past, Avalon was not opening itself to them. Roxy was too deep into anger to properly seek justice. I wish it didn't have to be that way… An odd feeling of grief came over her as she gazed at Roxy, ready to bid farewell and head to Avalon –

"There they are!"

Musa's head shot up. Nebula and her Warrior Fairies were flying towards them, rage in their eyes. From the looks of it, they had plenty of weapons.

"Oh no!" Tune yelled. "They found us!" Riven drew his sword again.

"Roxy, Timmy, the Wizards, and I will stay to fight them!" he shouted. "The rest of you go to Avalon!"

"But the Wizards can't use magic!" Musa stared at him. "You'll all get captured or – worse!"

"We don't have time for this!" Timmy shouted. "Just go!"

Musa grabbed Tune, pulling her along with her as she, Tecna, Digit, and Cherie flew towards Avalon. We have to get to Sibylla… They flew forward, determination in their eyes as they disappeared into the mists.

The mythical island loomed ahead of them as Tecna flew downwards, heading straight towards the greenery. She stared at it, taking it all in at once.

The island was filled with trees. Lush green grass grew, as did beautiful flowers. At the center of the island, the roots of two great trees were entwined. A holly and an oak they were, rising high into the sky – higher than any of the other trees. Two separate roots formed to create an opening – the entrance of a cave.

"That's Sibylla's Cave," Digit said, checking with her scanner. Tecna nodded, flying to the ground.

She felt happy that they'd finally reached Sibylla's Cave. At the same time, she couldn't help but feel a little nervous. Sibylla was the great Fairy of Justice, after all. If she wouldn't take their plea, then they were in for trouble.

They headed into the cave. As it was underground, roots hung from the walls and dangled above them, like chandeliers. Ahead of them was a pool of water. A bridge, made from the root of a tree, extended from the top of the cave to the ground.

"I can sense a strong magical energy." Tecna frowned, detecting with her scanners. "We can't transform."

"Then we'll have to do this the hard way." Musa headed to the bridge. "Come on – we can climb!"

Tune, Digit, and Cherie flew ahead, straight to the opening. Tecna nervously followed Musa, noting how unstable the bridge seemed. She placed her foot on the root, nervously balancing herself as she precariously walked up.

For a time, it seemed to be going well. Then, Tecna gasped as a fish suddenly shot out of the water, straight towards them. She almost fell, but Musa grabbed her arm in time.

"That must be one of Sibylla's!" she shouted. "They're trying to unbalance us!"

"Well, it's working!" Tecna nearly slipped.

"Come on!" Musa ran ahead on the root, light on her feet.

Tecna stared at her. Musa and Layla were both dancers; they were very agile and balanced. But not Tecna. She tried her hardest to follow her, nearly slipping.

The end was in-sight. Tecna gasped as another fish flew up to her, this time directly at her. She gasped in fear, wondering what to do.

"Jump!" Musa shouted.

Tecna jumped just in-time. She landed on the cliffside of the cave, only just making it. The fish fell straight back into the water. Musa grabbed her hand, looking worried. "That was close."

"It was!" Digit squeaked, looking scared. Tune and Cherie nodded.

"Come on," Musa said. "Let's head forwards." Tecna followed her, heading straight out of the cavern and into the light.

Roxy shot spell after spell at the Warrior Fairies, all of whom dodged. They surrounded her, Timmy, Riven, and the Wizards, all of whom looked nervously at each other. "I think it's time to surrender," Timmy whispered.

"Never!" Roxy felt rage within her heart. Nebula smirked, flying down to her.

"Come to fight, Faerie Princess?" she jeered.

"You know it," Roxy snarled, rising up to meet her. She shot a hex directly at Nebula.

But Nebula dodged her, laughing. "What you have in raw power you lack in skill." She shot a hex at Roxy, who gasped as she fell down.

She caught the air with her wings just in-time. Flying back up to Nebula, she glared at her. "You think you can just attack all humans and get away with it? Well, you're wrong!"

"Attack humans?" Nebula laughed. "You mean like how you attacked that poor human man in Gardenia? My spies have been watching you, Roxanne. Very carefully."

"Just stay out of our lives!" Roxy snarled. "Stop your vengeance on humans! You're giving all fairies a bad name!"

"And you're not?" Nebula smiled. "Look at what you've been doing! Why, you've turned into a bit of a monster, wouldn't you say? I'm sure your friends would agree with me."

Roxy frowned in horror, staring around. She's right… She stared around, her body weaking as she saw what was going on.

Timmy and Riven had been bound together, as were the five Wizards. They stared at her in fear, begging her to help. Nebula smiled, shaking her head.

"I'm taking you back too, Roxanne," she said. "Just how your dear mother wants you. She'll be happy to see you, little princess of" –

"Okay, first off, I am not her princess," Roxy snarled, power suddenly surging through her. "You've lied to me before, but I'm not going to believe you again. You – you walk around with the illusion of justice, but the truth is – you're blind." Her voice grew stronger.

"I don't like the Wizards," she said. "Actually, I kinda hate them. But that doesn't matter. I'm going to continue to protect them, because I know that's the right thing to do." She lifted her head. "I know what justice truly is!"

Almost instantly, the mist cleared. Roxy could see Avalon Island in its full glamour, more beautiful than anything she'd seen before. She stared, enchanted, at the beautiful green island.

Then something shined in-between her eyes – a purple light that enveloped her entire body. She felt the light chakra opening, filling her with intuition and insight. Nebula glared at her.

"You," she snarled, "just wait till I" –

She never got to finish her sentence. Suddenly, a bright light shined from within the mists. It blinded them, nearly destroying Roxy's sight.

Nebula stared at the mists in disbelief. "What's going on?"

Tecna walked into the formation, Musa and the Pixies by her side. She stared up as she saw what was ahead of her.

The two trees had merged together again. Oak and holly stood side-by-side, the plump red berries contrasting with the green leaves of the oak. They were at the crown of the tree, the leaves shining over them as they stared forward.

At the center sat a fairy with a long, black-and-white dress. Her wings appeared spiral-shaped, in the shape of a yin-yang symbol. She had long silver hair, and her sharp gray eyes appraised Tecna and Musa.

"Welcome to my abode," she said. "This is my seat, the Seat of Justice. I welcome you towards the seat, as you have proven yourselves worthy as peace-seekers."

"Hang on a minute," Musa said, her eyes narrowed. "I remember you. You're the woman who spoke in my ear when I drew Excalibur from the ground!"

"Indeed," Sibylla smiled. "I guided Arthur when he was a warrior, and I intended to guide you as well. However, I can tell that you are far stronger than Arthur; you do not need my guidance. I know that you will always fight for the honor of Camelot." She nodded.

"I can tell you are here for a request," she said, "and it involves the Wizards of the White Circle." She frowned. "Why is it you've called them into your protection?"

"Because they requested us," Tecna answered, "and there are few requests more sacred than that."

"True," Sibylla agreed. "And I believe no fairy should enter the path of vengeance, not even Queen Morgana. You have done the right thing." She nodded. "What is your request?"

"I want you to protect the Wizards of the White Circle." Tecna now knew what she was doing. "Keep them here until the Day of Justice. We will do our part and defeat Morgana and her Warrior Fairies, thereby granting a fair trial of the Wizards."

"I will do that." Sibylla nodded. Then she smiled. "Let us go and rescue your friends."

She flew into the air. Tecna and Musa transformed again, following Sibylla above Avalon. Soon they reached the end of the mist, where the others were standing. Tecna gasped as she saw them.

Timmy, Riven, and the Wizards were bound together. Roxy was handcuffed, clenching her fists as she glared at Nebula. Nebula smiled.

"This has been fun, fairies," she said lazily, "but now it's time to meet your doom." She lifted her hands, ready to strike.

She shot straight at Musa, who cried out as she was enveloped with the horrible spell. "Musa!" Tecna shrieked in horror. The music fairy struggled; Tecna tried to blast Nebula.

But Nebula had created a bubble around herself. The only person who could save herself was Musa. Suddenly, Tecna remembered.

"Musa!" she shouted. "Remember your sacred spell!"

"VITAL BEAT!" Musa roared. The spell collided with that of Nebula's, neutralizing the blasts. Nebula shrieked out, catching the air with her wings. "What's going on?" she demanded.

"We're here to take our friends back." Musa glared at Nebula. "You don't get to capture them!"

"The Wizards are your friends?" Nebula shrieked.

"As a matter of fact, they are not." Sibylla flew forward. "Still, they have been designated to my care, so that I can keep them for observation. You shall hand them over now, until the Day of Justice, when I hold a fair, impartial trial."

Nebula glared at Sibylla, but Tecna could tell that Sibylla had won; there was no mistaking the defeat and anger in Nebula's eyes. "Fine," she spat. "But don't think this is over." She shook her head. "Though there is no power stronger than justice, rest be assured; I will make sure you don't win." She turned around, motioning to her Warrior Fairies. "Come on."

They disappeared. Immediately, Tecna unbound Timmy, gasping, "We did it!" The two of them hugged.

"Come on, Wizards," Sibylla told them, taking them on their flying-saucers. "It is time to go."

Tecna watched as the Wizards disappeared into the mist, Sibylla leading them. Justice will soon be served. She gazed up at the sky.

I hope our magic serves us well.
