chloe2007: Thanks for the review. I figured it was time for Rachel to be emotional since she has been as understanding as she possibly could before now. Emma and Will are going to make an appearance soon, however, they won't be the first to find out about everything first. That will be Rachel's dads. :)
GLEE111: Thank you for the review! I will do a chapter about that, and I believe right now, it will be somewhere around chapter 19, so 6 more to go, but that is because this episode will be 5 parts. :)
Spurboy: (part 1) I honestly enjoy reading your reviews so much. You raised a lot of good points, and I will try to answer them all here... First off, this is not going to be a Faberry relationship story (even though I ADORE them together). :) They are just going to have a super close family-friend relationship. Also, as much as I would LOVE to have the Gleeks firebomb Russell's car, that, unfortunately cannot happen (by the end of Ballard, he WILL be dealt with, though).
(part 2) I think to answer your questions about S and B's parents, it is just... well, at that time, they had only know Rachel for about two years (fourth and fifth grade), and knowing they were preteens, and preteens have unpredictable friend groups, I guess they just did not really think it was weird? I don't know, but the way I see it in my head is, they never let on that something bad was happening.
Gwennie97: Yes, it as about time wasn't it? You are right about them having each other, which is good in a way. The damage it would have done if Russell had only done this to Quinn would have been detrimental. Actually , given what happens in this chapter, and the following ones, she will not have to explode anymore.
Thank you to the toehrs who reviewed! I got 6, making it my second-most-reviewed chapter. Also, welcome to my new followers gleegirl116, kahlelatara, and Lauriverfanboy1 (favoriter). And my favoriter chloe2007.
Note: I went back and forth with this one. It is going to be set in Ballard, with a little extra (also Finn does not sing to Q's parents in my version).
Hmm… is Brittberry B and Rachel's ship name? If so, than this will have Brittberry friendship. The first part (them at school) has the teensiest Brittana, if you like… squint and tilt your head and reeeaallly try to see it.
Enjoy! :)

*Lunchtime*
Friday consists of all three girls in the Choir room. Brittany and Santana are in the second row, enjoying some kind of casserole that Rachel brought them (that's vegan, and yes, Santana likes it), while Quinn is at the piano with Rachel.
Rachel is running through notes before she gets to the singing part, and Quinn is taking pleasure in irritating (not really) her by playing random keys and messing up her progress through the notes.
"Quinn! Would you please stop it?" And she would stop it, except… she is enjoying hearing Rachel laugh and being the reason for it, and for the first time since last Saturday, she feels just a little bit of her anxiety leave her body.
They're here for 20 minutes today, because Santana and Brittany know that Quinn needs it, and maybe they need it too, but they come second to Quinn right now, and so they are going to relax and enjoy this time they have.
Santana smiles while watching the two interact. That ease that they have, the smiles and the laughter, and… "God, I've missed this, haven't you, B? I forgot how much fun it was to just sit around, the four of us, and do absolutely nothing."
Silence.
Santana's brow furrows at the lack of response from the dancer, and so she turns to face Brittany, and…
"Britt?" She's suddenly alarmed to find the blonde crying, of all things…
"She hasn't laughed like that in a long time, Sanny," Brittany is saying. The dancer looks at her and the sadness in her blue eyes hits Santana squarely in the chest.
She looks to the two girls at the piano, and revels in the feeling of not only Quinn's laughter, but Rachel's also, and no, Quinn hasn't laughed like that in a long time.
Longer than a child should have to go.
Don't get her wrong, the Unholy Trinity has laughed plenty of times over the past 4 years – cruelly, at people who were slushied, during funny parts of movies, after Brittany's sister tells a joke, – but this laugh?
The one that is more of a giggle, and was reserved for being around Rachel, and…
She watches them. Quinn has stopped playing random keys and is instead, watching Rachel intently, as she explains something, before playing a few notes, then explaining some more, and they repeat that process several times, and then…
Brittany is speaking again, barely a whisper this time, "I don't want to lose that again."
And the words hit Santana again because yeah, she doesn't want to lose this side of her best friend.
She doesn't want to lose the side of Brittany who gets to be completely childlike, because Rachel indulged in that part of her, and she knows she, herself, would like to be carefree again. The part that only the three other girls in this room get to see.
Santana sighs, and then takes a deep breath; she reaches for Brittany's hand, interlocking their fingers, and she nods, and…
"I know, B. and I promise we won't lose it this time, okay? We will tell someone soon, I promise."
If only they knew how soon it really would be.
*Later – Rachel's house*
That night, Rachel surveys the kitchen for something to eat. Her daddies are going away for the weekend – their anniversary – so she has the place to herself for tonight and until Monday afternoon.
She thinks about inviting Kurt and Mercedes over, but, she pauses… does she want to spend the night gossiping or listening to them try to explain why she shouldn't trust the Unholy Trinity?
No.
She doesn't.
So, she continues looking for something to eat, maybe stuff to make homemade vegan pizza, or some soup.
(Vegan pizza sounds really good, she decides, but…)
She calls her cousin, Jacob. And she asks him to pick her up to take her to the grocery store.
"Hey, Cuz!" He calls out about 30 minutes later as he pulls up her driveway. It's way after six by now, so the porch light and his headlights are the only thing brightening her front yard.
"Hello, Jacob. I trust your day has been good?" She asks once she is inside the car and buckled up. He answers in the affirmative, and the drive is spent discussing various things – Glee Club, Quinn and how she is going, Jake and his sister and parents.
It's just over an hour later when they arrive back home. Rachel has loaded up with ingredients for vegan pizza, hot chocolate, and several other things.
It's nearing 7:30 and Rachel is deciding, in her head, what she is going to do after the pizza, whether she'll watch a movie or go to the basement, or…
Jake's headlights catches something, or someone, sitting on the porch and the words she was about to speak die in her throat.
"Fuck," She barely hears Jake's words… "Is that Brittany?"
She's out of the car before he finishes his question and faintly hears a car door slam as she runs over to the girl on her porch. "Britt? What are you doing? God, you must be freezing; let's get you inside, okay?"
Brittany just nods, and stands and waits for Rachel to unlock the door. She's quiet, but doesn't seem to be shivering or have blue tinted anywhere, so she was probably only out there for a few minutes, but that is just one of things that is worrying Rachel.
They get inside and Rachel tells Jake to bring in the groceries, which he does immediately, and then she goes to make some hot chocolate for Britt.
Putting mini marshmallows (her favorite) in the mug, Rachel sits it in front of Brittany. Jake starts putting the groceries away.
"Britt, I'm going to make pizza later, would you like to help? It'll be vegan but I also got Dad stuff for his "normal" pizza if you want to make that."
Brittany answers quietly, "I'll eat with you," while taking a sip of her drink. Rachel nods and so Jacob leaves everything for a vegan pizza out while putting the rest of the items away.
"Okay, now that that is situated, can you please tell me, and don't take this the wrong way, but can you tell me why you were sitting on my porch in below 40° weather?"
Brittany sighs, and takes another sip of her cocoa, and Rachel sees out of the corner of her eye, Jacob gesturing to the living room, so she nods to him and then waits patiently, while making her own hot chocolate, for Britt to answer her.
It comes a few minutes later, when Brittany finally says, "Q and Finn are having dinner with Quinn's parents."
That statement freezes Rachel in the midst of trying to find her own kind of marshmallows to add to her drink, and she feels a chill go through her body as goosebumps raise on her arms.
Quinn had told her that she wanted to tell Finn he is not the father of her baby soon. They had discussed it 3 weeks ago, after their talk but before Brittany and Santana arrived at her house. She said it wasn't fair to either Finn nor Noah, and she wanted to do it as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, it is kind of hard to do such a thing when Quinn has basically been, well… mute… the whole time between then and now.
And right now, right this very moment, Rachel is filled with dread as she spins around to look at Brittany.
"What did you say?"
She hopes to God she heard wrong. She hopes so desperately, because not only did Quinn want to tell Finn he is not the father of the baby, but she overheard Finn telling her how he wants to tell her parents, how he thinks they should know by now, you're over 2 months pregnant!
Surprisingly, although maybe not, Brittany's expression crumbles into… pure sadness mixed with fear, and….
"Santana didn't believe me when I said something bad was going to happen today."
But Rachel is still stuck on her first statement.
"Brittany," She walks over to the girl, and looks her straight in the eye, very carefully saying, "I need you to be sure of this," She knows she probably sounds crazy, but the expression on the dancer's face is nothing less than understanding.
"Are you sure Quinn was going to have dinner with him and her parents, tonight, and not, maybe, tomorrow?"
Her heart sinks as Britt's lip trembles, that being enough of an answer, and it only being made worse, when she verbally replies with, "Yes, I'm sure. She texted us and said so."
That is exactly what she was afraid of.
"Fuck!" She yells this, punctuating it with slamming her hands on the counter.
Jacob comes running, "What's going on?" He slides into the room, taking in their faces.
"Oh, god, are you ok? What happened? Please tell me it isn't Quinn?" For some reason, his mind immediately goes to her, instead of Santana also.
Silence.
"It is Quinn, isn't it?" He really hopes he is wrong.
More silence.
"Will someone please fucking answer me? Is Quinn ok?"
He makes eye contact with Rachel, and for some reason, his heart sinks. Knowing that everything was fine a couple hours ago, he asks, "What happened?"
Rachel finally answers. "Q and Finn are having dinner with her parents." He gets chills, too. Even though he is 16 years older than the girls, he still was close with them growing up. He hung out with them, was their babysitter, and even visited them on holidays during college.
He knows what her very Christian and by-the-Bible parents would do if they find out their unwed, 15-year-old daughter was pregnant.
It's why he was taking care of Quinn's doctor's appointments at his clinic, it's why he was paying the bills himself, so she didn't have to worry about them showing up in the mail at the Fabray household.
It's silent because, really, no one has any idea what to say. What do they say to make this better? To make it so this isn't happening? To make it so Quinn can tell the truth about the baby's father, to make sure her parents don't find out?
Brittany's phone dings and it's so sudden and loud, that they all jump.
She picks it up, frowning, before standing and moving towards the doorway of the kitchen.
"Britt?" Rachel and Jake follow her to the front door, which she opens and…
"Rachel! Get over here!"
Santana is standing there, with a Cheerios bag slung over one shoulder, and…
Quinn, bruised, bloody, and shivering, leaning on her other side.
"He found out." The blonde whimpers, making eye contact right away with Rachel, and she wonders if it meant as the pregnancy, or the other thing, or both.
They all stand there, stunned, unsure of what to do, or what to say.
And there is Ballard part 1! You will find out what happened exactly happened in the next part. And from there, it is going to be a whirlwind of things happening - their parents find out (everything), something big is revealed, and finally, finally something happens to Russell and Judy.
Please review and let me know what you thought! :)
