Reply to reviews: (chapter 14)

Boris Yeltsin: Thansk for the review. He did do things to her, the details of which will not come out until Quinn is speaking again. :( Judy will defiantely divorce him, no question, but she is also not entirely inmocent here. She did nothing to stop the abuse, even years ago, before it became this bad. So, the police will be dealing with her, as well.

chloe2007: Thanks for the review. Her Dads find out in the next chapter! I hope you enjoy this one, it has more Faberry in it. :)

SpurBoy: part 1: Aw, well, Finn is not quite an idiot. He is just like the rest of them - a 15-year-old caught in the middle of a bunch of adult problems. You will find out just how Russell found out that the UT has been seeing Rachel in #20 (I actually just wrote that part a little bit ago!)

part 2: And yes, Russell made a threat to Quinn about Rachel. It was a very serious threat, and genuinely terrified her. To answer your most important question - Becca will be showing up very soon! Id say around #22, so not very long now. Also, Judy's involvment will slowly be revealed as well.

Welcome to my new followers and favoriters Fochtsara, lupinsstar, dreamasia16, ThelonelySGT, amd Lady Isabelle Black (favoriter).

Notes: Here is part 3! More with the girls. Jacob is actually in this one. The next part will have Rachel's dads coming home, and things will begin to come to light.

Notes 2: Decided to update now becuase I am also going to update on Friday, as a celebration of this story officially being 3 months old! We have 63 followers, 32 favoriters, and 49 reviews. Thank you to everyone who has given this story a a chance. I really appreciate it. :)

*Downstairs*

They head downstairs once Quinn is calmed down, and after finding her a shirt to wear. Rachel decided that the sweatshirt would probably be too form fitting, and since Quinn's back is hurt, she needed a loose t-shirt to wear.

So, with one of Josiah's older t-shirts on, they go down to the living room where Brittany is, and Santana goes to her while Rachel sits on the couch and lets Quinn curl up at her side, wrapping an arm around the blonde while also trying not to touch her back.

Rachel has one last thing that needs to be said before they go any further.

"Britt, San, please listen. I know what you are probably going to say, but this time, I am not giving you a choice. We are going to tell my Dads everything, – what Russell has been doing to you three, what happened tonight, everything."

She looks Santana straight in the eye.

"You understand me?"

To her surprise, the Latina nods immediately, a determined look on her face.

"Absolutely. This," She gestures to where Quinn is buried in the Diva's arms, "This is something we cannot just ignore. Her father… her father did this to his own… his own fucking child, and…"

Her voice breaks and Rachel has to look away, has to remind herself that Santana has been strong for the three of them all this time, and now it is her turn to not let her emotions get the best of her.

It's time for Rachel to be the strong one.

Brittany wraps her arms around Santana and shushes her gently but then tells her it's ok, Sanny, just let it out. It's ok to cry. No one is going to fault you for it; you've been so brave, and now it's ok to be upset about this.

Brittany catches Rachel's eye, "We're staying here tonight."

"Yes, Santana let me know earlier. I think that would be best. I do not want you going home, probably for the rest of the weekend. We will work out the details later, but for now, it is best if we all stayed together."

Britt moves to the other end of the couch that Rachel and Quinn are on. And she sits similarly to the Diva, with her legs propped up on the ottoman and Santana curled into her side. She covers them with the extra blanket that is draped over the back of the couch.

:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/:/

They all four sit there in silence, afraid to say anything because they are not sure if Quinn is asleep, but she has stopped crying and is finally settled, as well as she can be, in the uncomfortable position of trying not to lay on her back.

However, after about 20 minutes of… quiet that isn't exactly peaceful… Brittany speaks again. She stares unseeing into the fire, absentmindedly running her fingers up and down Santana's arm

"She needs to be checked out by a doctor."

And Rachel sighs, because, yes, she does. And no, she probably will not want to be, but with Quinn being pregnant, they need to know that the baby is going to be ok.

They need to know that Russell did not inflict permanent damage on his own fucking daughter, the cuts and welts on her back notwithstanding.

"I know," She whispers back. "Daddy can look her over when they get home. I imagine we are not going to get much sleep between then and now, if any at all, so he can do it as soon as they arrive home."

She looks over at Brittany, "We need to eat something also, especially LuLu. I don't imagine she liked dinner at her… parents," Rachel practically spits the word, hating having to call them that because the injuries on Quinn's body is proof they have not been parents to her in a very long time.

"We can see if Jake will make us something quick to eat."

Brittany nods, but then asks, "Where is Jake, anyway?" and Rachel looks alarmed for moment, because she has not seen her cousin since almost half an hour ago, when she and the girls came in here, but he disappeared off to somewhere else.

"Crap, I don't know," She looks wide-eyed to Britt. "Will you help me lay her down?" She gestures to Quinn. "I need to go and find him." Brittany nods, and she gently gets out from under Santana, the girl moving at the last second.

"What's going on?" She can tell the Latina was probably asleep or close to it, so Britt answers with, "Nothing, baby. Just go back to sleep, ok?"

She goes from reaching out to Quinn to bending down in front of San, who is already sitting up, and rubbing her eyes, and saying, "I'm fine. What's up?"

And Brittany nods and then explains, "Rach just needs me to help her move Quinn. She needs to go and find Jake because we need to eat something, especially Q."

"Okay." Rachel shifts and Brittany resumes what she was doing a few minutes ago. "Help me lift her just a little, so I can move, and then we will lay her down on the couch, alright, B?"

Santana stands up then, and she moves some of the blankets and pillows away, so that Brittany can help maneuver Quinn to where she is no longer laying on Rachel. Rachel then stands up, and the three of them work together to gently lay her long ways on the couch, on her stomach, so that her back is not agitated.

Quinn shifts and they all freeze, but she just seems to be moving into a more comfortable position.

Santana lets out the breath she was holding, "Geeze, that was close."

She then ushers the other two away from the couch, and to the kitchen, where, surprisingly, they find Jacob.

He has put away the needed items for Rachel's vegan pizza, – which she completely forgot about, – and is instead seeming to be cutting up potatoes for something.

"There you are," She moves towards her cousin. "I was coming to look for you. What are you doing?"

Jake wipes his hands on a dishtowel after laying down the knife. "I'm making some soup for you all. I figured with everything going on, you wouldn't want to mess with the pizza. It's potato soup, so you can eat it, and it'll keep you all warm."

He takes note of the fact that Brittany and Santana have come to the kitchen with Rachel, but no Quinn is in sight. "Where's Quinn?"

"She's resting, finally," Britt answers. "Are you making cheese toast?" She goes around Santana, inching closer to Jacob.

"No, but we can make some." He glances back and forth between the three girls. "Was there something you three needed? Rach, are Uncle Josiah and Uncle David on their way home?"

"First, yes, Britt, we will make some cheese toast, just closer to when the soup is finished, alright?" Brittany nods. "Second," She turns to Jacob. "Yes, we were coming to see if you would make us some dinner, but I can see you are already doing that, so thank you."

"No problem. I figured you wouldn't want to deal with making a pizza right now, and potato soup will keep us warm, and hopefully, Quinn will be able to stomach it. Just thought she might not want a lot on her stomach. Just something bland."

Rachel nods to that, and watches as Britt grabs a bottle of water from the fridge. She then tells Rachel that she and Santana are going to the basement so she can dance/work on a cheer routine while Rachel stays in the kitchen with Jacob.

*15 minutes later*

Rachel's phone rings about 15 minutes later. Her dads have been texting her, obviously worried about why Santana, of all people, called them and asked them to return home immediately.

She explains that something has happened to Quinn but does not give details. She says the way the girl looks will be enough of an explanation, and David, who has the phone while his husband is driving, looks worriedly to Josiah.

"Santana, Brittany, and Jacob are also here," Rachel continues. "They are all going to stay here. Jake said he would be here until you and Daddy arrived home."

"That's good," David agrees. "You four do not need to be alone."

He sighs and Josiah says, "Make sure you lock the doors. I have a bad feeling about whatever it is that has happened. Make sure the windows, backdoor, sidedoor, and that window in the basement that is always tricky, are locked up tight, so no one can get in."

For the first time since Brittany arrived at her house nearly three hours ago, Rachel is smiling.

While her Dad will say that it's good Jacob is staying over, and to not answer the door for anyone at all, her Daddy will go through the whole list of things that need to be shut, locked, or anything else that should be done.

She definitely got her personality from him.

"Have you all eaten yet?" David asks, and since she has the phone on speaker, Jacob answers instead of her,

"Hi, Uncle Dave. Yes, I am making dinner right now. Just something simple – potato soup – there will be enough for both of you, although, I think Rachel has decided to make a couple of smoothies for Quinn…?" He gets a nod at that. "Yes, she is going to make a couple in case Quinn just needs something blander than soup on her stomach for right now."

"Good, that's good. Thank you, Jacob. We appreciate you helping your cousin."

"Really, Uncle Dave, it's no problem. There was no way I was going to leave them here by themselves, and they certainly have had their hands full with Quinn and… well, everything has happened, so…" He tries not to give too much away, as he knows Rachel and the other three want to give them the details in length once they arrive home.

While Rachel is on the phone with her fathers, she gets out the bread and cheese, getting the cheese "toast" ready, and then putting it into the convection oven.

Just as she is sitting down to be in a more comfortable position, as she tells David and Josiah about her day at school, an ear-splitting scream interrupts the semi-calm atmosphere.

Rachel runs to the living room, and since she has the phone on speaker, David immediately is asking what is going on, and if everything is all right.

Rachel can only focus on thing, though – the expression of pure fear on Quinn's face as she thrashes around, fighting Santana, who is trying to wake her, get her to calm down, and above all, not agitate her back any more than what the blonde is already doing to it.

"Dads, I have to go. Quinn is awake from her nap." She hangs up without hearing their response, and is across the room immediately.

She stops just before the girl, not wanting to startle her by touching her without permission.

"Quinn?" She bends down next to Santana. "LuLu, hey! Lucy, it me. It's Rachel. You're ok! No one can hurt you here. Wake up, Angel, please; it's just a dream, I promise. Hey! Quinn!"

Santana is holding her arms still, or at least, trying to, to keep her from hitting her back against the coach, and Rachel has her hands on Quinn's face. Both of them are trying to figure out if Quinn is awake or still asleep while being trapped in whatever nightmare she seems to be having.

"LuLu, it's ok. You are having a nightmare; whatever it is, it's not real. You are here with me, with Rachel. And Santana is here, and so is Brittany. You are safe, I promise. Please wake up, sweetheart."

She repeats variations of that for a several more moments before Quinn stops struggling, and suddenly goes very tense. It alarms Santana, the girl looking wide eyed at Rachel, and it only takes the Diva about four seconds to realize…

"Santana, go get a trash can, now!"

The Latina scrambles out of the room and back again, just in time for Rachel to maneuver Quinn towards the edge of the coach, and for her to be sick.

Rachel sighs, brushing blonde stands of hair from her forehead before rubbing her back. Santana leaves and then reappears once more with a wet washcloth.

Once Quinn is finished being sick, she allows the blonde to wipe her mouth with the cloth. Santana takes the trashcan out while Rachel and Quinn go to the bathroom to rinse her mouth out.

They gather back in the kitchen to eat potato soup and cheese toast, then they moved to change into pajamas and went to the basement where they are now watching movies.

*Much later – after midnight*

It's been a few hours now, and they are all in the basement watching a movie.

Another thing was discovered during those two hours; Jacob cannot get within 5 feet of Rachel, unless it is initiated by Rachel.

Santana and Brittany were shocked when Quinn protectively jumped in front of the Diva as her cousin reached out for her arm, trying to calm her down while she was ranting about something, stemming from an argument the two had just gotten into.

With both Brittany and Santana having to holding her back, Rachel had pushed between Quinn and Jacob, trying to figure out what exactly triggered the blonde.

She reassured her that Jacob was not going to hurt her, because for some reason, she felt an intense need to make that clear to Quinn, as if… as if Quinn was actually unsure of it.

Now, Jacob sits in a chair, but across the room, with a couch, and both San and Britt in between him and Rachel and Quinn.

They are on the 'L' couch with Brittany laying on the 'L' part, and Santana laying sideways with her head in Britt's lap. She is sharing the space with Q, who is laying with her own head in Rachel's lap, with an icepack on her bruised cheek, and is turned in a way that her back is not against the cushions.

So far, the blonde's stomach has been settled, and Rachel found some numbing/pain-relief gel that she put on the Quinn's back, to try and ease the pain a little.

They are watching movies, their pick right now being Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed.

"You know what I just figured? Like, as in right now, just this second?" Brittany says.

"Mmm… what?"

"They're holding hands," She gestures to the screen where Daphne and Fred are currently walking around at the museum made up of all the costumes of "monsters" they have unmasked over the years.

Rachel tilts her head to the side and narrows her eyes, "…Yes, they are…?" She looks to Britt, who throws up her hands like that one sentence should explain everything.

It doesn't.

Quinn and Santana watch with interest.

"They're dating each other!" Britany exclaims to which Rachel immediately follows up with, "Please tell me you are not actually just realizing that…? They kissed in the last movie!"

"Exactly!" is exclaimed, but then Britt narrows her eyes thoughtfully, "Wait, I meant… I always forget about that."

Rachel sighs, though not irritably, just more as… disbelief that is playful. "B, how do you forget that? Literally every cartoon was basically a buildup to their relationship, and besides that, these two movies are the most-watched between the four of us!"

Santana suddenly interrupts at that comment, looking thoughtful. "You know, I never noticed that." She lifts her head up just enough to look at Rachel. "So that's why they were always paired up!"

"They even did whole "girl gets jealous" thing in one of the movies," Jacob chimes in and Brittany nods.

"Yep. Cause Fred was talking to… to what's-her-face," She waves a hand as if it's supposed to make the name magically appear in her mind.

"The Hex Girls?" Santana supplies.

"Yeah, them! One of them, anyway. She was jealous because he wanted to follow them and check them out to make sure they were the good guys."

Silence falls upon the five of them, and they continue watching until…

"I always wanted a house like that one,"

It's whispered by Santana, as this is the part where the Scooby Gang is at their Headquarters, watching the news report of what went down (the disaster) at the Museum.

"I think it's cool that each member has their own color-coded area."

Santana snorts at this, because of course, Rachel, out of all of them, would like it for that reason. She says, "Of course, you do." to which Rachel sticks out her tongue at the Latina.

The five of them watch nearly the entire movie before they hear a noise upstairs. Jacob jumps up first, panicking, thinking someone is breaking in, and Quinn is immediately up after him, putting herself between Rachel and Britt, and the stairs of the basement, with Santana joining her.

They are all simultaneously freaking out… until they hear,

"Rachel! Jacob! Where are you guys?"

And a collective sigh of relief is let out amongst the room's occupants.

They venture upstairs to the living room, and see both Josiah and David hovering near the fireplace, the light now turned on, looking worried and anxious about whatever happened earlier tonight.

Rachel sighs.

She knows it's going to be a long, long night.

So, there is the third part. Not a lot going on here, just wanted to show more of the girls and Jacob before David and Josiah get home. The next chapter will be the first time you actually meet them! I am excited to write more of Josiah and David into my story. :)

Something happened that has made Quinn hyperaware of whenever Rachel is out of her sight – this will be explained, though not in the next chapter.

I threw in some fluff there at the end because the next several chapters are going to be anything but, so it was needed. It will be incredibly rough to write out, but they are getting closer to Russell being dealt with.

Next up! More protective!Quinn for reasons that no one but she knows. Rachel's Dads find out the reason for the Unholy Trinity's treatment of Rachel, and they also find out that Russell is the one who gave Quinn the bruises, split lip, and the welts on her back. Also, Josiah (the doctor) checks Quinn out to make sure the baby is ok.
