"My people ventured into the core when the portal opened," Akna said. "They encountered a pulsing rainbow sphere, exactly like how you describe. They were attacked by the people of the Southern Tribe. Before they fled, they saw a similar beam of light – towards the South Pole. Based on what they told me, I considered it might be the legendary Heart of the Earth, but I convinced myself it couldn't possibly be. But what you've told me – it's clear evidence of what's going on."

"What is it?" Ajareaty asked.

"It is a superweapon," Akna answered bleakly. "It is meant to annihilate the Whisperians. Both portals must be open in order to activate it. It is very, very unstable, not to mention dangerous."

"What happens with the Heart?" Uki wanted to know. "What happens if it is activated?"

"It will destroy everything," Akna whispered. "If it goes off, the world as we know it will cease to exist."

"I'm sorry!" Uki choked out. "I'm sorry for abandoning you that day, for letting you take the blame for what we both did! I'm sorry your mother messed you up! I'm sorry for – everything!"

That halted Meriwa. For a second, Uki felt the dagger press against her throat, and blood welled at her throat. She closed her eyes, ready for the end –

Then Meriwa pulled the dagger back, her eyes narrowed.

"I will spare your life," she said, "in memory of our previous friendship. But if you get in my way, I will dispose of you myself."

Nebula walked through the portal, laughing as she reached the core of the planet. She soon flew into the magnetic center of the core, through the southern door. She gazed at the circular chamber.

A brilliant rainbow sphere, large enough to fit two people inside, was suspended right underneath her, in the center of the chamber. It shimmered and swirled with magic, incredible power inside. The Heart of the Earth!

If I can find this power inside, I can destroy all of humanity. She flew backwards in surprise as a hologram appeared in front of the rainbow sphere. A woman with long, dark brown hair and gray eyes was ahead of her.

"My name is Meriwa," the hologram stated. "I am leaving this message because I failed to activate the Heart of the Earth. But you can use the Heart for whatever ends you desire.

"In order to do that, both portals must be opened – both North and South Poles. Only then will the planet be balanced. You will be able to then access the Heart of the Earth, using its magic to destroy your foes."

"Sounds perfect," Nebula grinned. Now all I have to do is capture Roxanne again… She turned around.

She was going to open the Heart of the Earth. She was going to defeat all of humanity, as well as any others who stood in her way. And once that's done, peace will come to Earth once more.

CHAPTER 50: UKI, HIGH FAERIE QUEEN OF PARADISE

On the Matter of the High Faerie Queen of Paradise

The position of the High Faerie Queen was created by a courageous fairy from the South Pole, who defied all odds and defeated great evil. On her travels, she came across Paradise, known back then as the Land of Many Names. Creating the central queendom there, she modeled it as an exemplar for the fairy world itself.

Many millennia later, the High Faerie Queen, along with the other Faerie Queens, works to keep order amongst the fairy population. In fact, it is believed the same dynasty of fairies has ruled ever since the days of the first High Faerie Queen, for almost a hundred thousand years. An unbroken line of mother to daughter passes, all the way to current High Faerie Queen Morgana Una le Fay. The reason why the dynasty is unbroken is because the High Faerie Queen and her heirs have powers that cannot be accessed by any other fairy on Earth. Only they can wield the full power of the Black Circle, and, if the ancient stories are to be believed, only they can control the Heart of the Earth. Anyone else who tries shall become corrupted by the power they acquire.

North Pole, Arctic Circle

"What happened?" Ajareaty demanded as soon as she landed out of the portal. "What have you done?"

Uki stared down at herself. Bloodstains covered her parka, and she was shivering in fear. Akna laid a hand on her shoulder. "Tell us what happened."

Uki began to sob. She cried out, pain in her voice.

"She killed her mother!" she shouted. "She – she killed everyone in my tribe. And now she's in the South Pole, all by herself! I'm worried she might open the Heart!"

"So?" Ajareaty asked, and Uki stared at her, stunned. "Don't worry about it. If she's by herself, there's no way she'll have the power to turn on the Heart all by herself. This may actually be a good thing."

"Now the Heart can't go off." Akna looked relieved. "I'm very sorry for your loss, though."

Uki glared at Ajareaty. "How could you say that? Meriwa is my best friend!"

"Was your best friend," Ajareaty corrected. "I'm sorry, Uki, but you can't let these sorrows drown your life. We have bigger things to worry about. According to our intel, the Whisperians are planning for another big attack."

She's right. Uki tensed; Akna frowned, gazing at them both.

"I need you both go to a special place," she said. "It goes by many names, but the name I know it as is Tír na nÓg. It is the only place known in the world that Whisperians haven't been able to invade. It is also very unique; fairies and humans both live there in peace."

"How?" gasped Uki. "That's amazing!"

"It is," Ajareaty agreed. "But we must hurry. Chieftain Akna must stay back here and help her tribe prepare for battle. Meanwhile, you and I should go to the island of Tír na nÓg and seek guidance from the Six Sages." Her dragon flew to her. "Now come on. We have a long journey ahead of us."

Another few weeks passed. Uki and Ajareaty flew on the dragon, barely speaking to one another. Most of their time was spent in silence.

Uki's tribe was gone. Though they hadn't loved her immensely, they had still been her family for fifteen years. The bloodshed she'd seen was incredibly painful, and she couldn't believe they were all gone.

Mostly, Uki could not stop thinking about Meriwa. Though she had destroyed her entire tribe, a part of her still ached for the girl she had once known. The girl whose only fault was having an abusive mother. She missed her terribly, and wished she had never done what she'd done.

I want her to come back. She wanted to be with Meriwa, to hold her, to take care of her. But she knew Meriwa would never want her. She sighed, gazing down.

Eventually, Uki and Ajareaty reached the island of Tír na nÓg. They stared down at the island, filled with astonishment.

There was lush greenery and beautiful nature everywhere. Flowers dotted the grass, and a large, reflecting lake shined ahead of them. Rivers flowed through the pristine land. At the center of the island was a group of trees, twisted in a formation unlike one she had ever seen.

"That's called a castle," Ajareaty explained to Uki. "I have one, too." They reached the front of the castle; bowing, they stared upwards.

A human man and fairy woman descended from the top of the castle. The woman wore a strange black circlet around her head, one which Uki couldn't discern. They gazed at Uki and Ajareaty; all of the villagers of the island, humans and fairies both, gathered around them. Uki bowed as low as she could.

"Greetings," she said as respectfully as she could.

The people stared blankly back at her; Uki realized that they couldn't understand her language. What do I say? Ajareaty stepped forward, speaking in another tongue Uki couldn't understand. The human man and fairy woman looked at each other, and then nodded. Ajareaty turned back to Uki.

"Chieftain Dagda and Chieftess Danu both say we can stay here," she said. "With their tribe. Now, let's go and find the Temple of the Six Sages." She led Uki down the path.

As they walked, Uki observed the people of Tír na nÓg. Several of them were laughing together, enjoying each other's company. The humans and fairies were intermingling without any problems, sharing campfires and talking animatedly to each other. Human and fairy children played together. She watched them, an odd ache rising in her throat.

This is a model civilization. She had only been here a short while, but already, she could make out that this was unlike any other place she'd ever been before. It's like a… paradise.

She thought of her own people, who had now been destroyed by Meriwa. Sadness washed over her as she thought of the people she'd never see again, the people she'd grown up with. Now no one is left to let our culture thrive. Tears fell from her eyes.

"Uki," Ajareaty hissed, and Uki pushed away the tears. They had now reached an underground tunnel, leading right under the lake. Uki followed; they were now far, far underneath the lakebed. Soon they came to a cave with stalactites and stalagmites, shining with an eerie light.

Ahead of them sat six female fairies, each wearing a different color. All had long white hair and deep blue eyes. They were dressed the six colors of the rainbow, with matching amulets around their necks. They bowed as Uki and Ajareaty entered.

"Greetings, travelers," the purple-clad fairy said. "Welcome to the Land of Many Names. The abode of all magical activity on this world, magic exists here in an endless continuum, binding all of Earth's creatures together. Legend has it that, when the gods first descended from the heavens, this was the first part of the earth they touched. As you well know, they are our ancestors, the first of fairykind. We are the Six Sages, and we each protect a part of the world. We each come from different lands."

"How do you get back and forth?" Uki gasped.

"We have portals." The red-clad fairy pointed to behind them. In a circle, Uki could see six wheels rotating on the ground, each lit with a different color. "The red one leads to Atlantis."

"The orange one leads to the Benben Lands," said the orange-clad fairy.

"The yellow one leads to Xuanpu," said the yellow-clad fairy.

"The green one leads to Peristan," said the green-clad fairy.

"The blue one leads to the World Tree," said the blue-clad fairy.

"And the purple one leads to Mount Meru," the purple-clad fairy finished. "Each of us have our own worlds."

Uki stared at the circle of wheels, and then at its center. A white wheel was on the ground, shining with a brilliant light. "What's that one?"

"No one has been able to travel through it," the purple fairy answered. "We do not know where it leads."

"How do we save the world from the aliens?" Ajareaty stepped forward. "How do we stop them from taking over?"

"The aliens are not your problem," the purple fairy responded. "You know that well enough. True, they threaten to take over our world, but they are not the true problem you have. The problem, as you well know, is the Heart."

"But the Heart can't be activated now that no one's there to set it off," Uki said in confusion.

"There is one person who can," she answered. "And you know who will."

"Meriwa?" Uki gasped. "She wouldn't" –

"You know she would," the purple fairy answered sternly. "Her people created the Heart, and she's not going to forget it. It is time for you to stop making excuses for her. You must do the right thing and save the world. You couldn't save your people, but maybe you will save the Earth. You know what you have to do."

Uki stared. "I don't" –

"Incoming!" Ajareaty suddenly hissed. "I can sense Whisperians above us!"

We're trapped! Horror ran through Uki. They were at the bottom of the tunnel, with no way to escape. Ajareaty lifted magic in her hands, looking furious.

"Come on!" she hissed. "It's time to fight!"

Uki turned around, staring at the sages desperately for help. And then she noticed something. Something was stuck inside of the white wheel, some kind of artifact. She flew up to it, staring down.

"Uki, now's not the time!" Ajareaty snapped. "Get over here!"

But Uki couldn't help it; it was like she was in a trance. "What is this?"

"There is something lodged inside of the wheel," the purple fairy responded. "We have never been able to remove it. What are you" –

Uki bent down to the wheel. Her hands grasped onto the rainbow handle in the center of the wheel; she began to pull. The sages stared at her.

"Stop!" they cried. "What are you doing?"

"RRARH!" Whisperian soldiers launched into the room, attacking the sages and Ajareaty. Uki grimaced, pulling harder on the item. Come on, break free!

She could feel the handle turning, the power inside breaking through. With a thundering sound, the rainbow item dislodged itself from the wheel. She stared at it triumphantly, happy with herself for –

Suddenly, a Whisperian man launched himself at her, attacking with his spell. Uki screamed as she was knocked to the ground. She fell, looking desperately as he lifted a killing blow, pointing it straight at her neck –

"No!"

The man turned around. Ajareaty was standing there, her fists clenched. "Fight with someone your own size!"

"Ajareaty, no!" Uki shouted, but Ajareaty ignored her. The man launched towards her.

Uki watched desperately as the man fought Ajareaty. Ajareaty winced, shouting at Uki, "Get to the white wheel!"

In a daze, Uki stood on the wheel. She gasped as she felt a magical energy surround her; a white light shot up from the wheel, filling the chamber with brightness. Ajareaty winced as she fought the soldier.

"Get – to – the" – she shouted, but stopped as the soldier's spell slashed her chest. She fell to the ground, falling deathly still.

"No!" Uki cried, trying to pull herself off the wheel.

But it was too late. Uki felt herself shooting into the wheel, disintegrating into time. Where am I going? Then everything went black.

Uki opened her eyes to see a rainbow cocoon around her. A pulsing energy, like one she'd never seen before, radiated around her. The cocoon was filled with magic like she'd never seen before.

What is this place? She stared around, completely shocked. Where am I?

She thought she heard someone flying around. The sound of wings beating against air filled the chamber as someone muttered, "So this is the Heart. How much it has grown."

I'm in the Heart! Uki realized. How was she going to get out of there? She had to leave, before the whole thing exploded and Meriwa set it off!

All around her, she saw four archways: one to her top, one to her bottom, one in front of her, and one behind. They must relate to north, south, east, and west. She was about to step through the arch when someone suddenly dissolved through. Someone she knew very well.

"Meriwa?" Uki breathed in confusion.

For a second, nothing happened. Then Uki screamed as a hex hit her; she fell back into the Heart's chamber. Meriwa stood above her, cackling.

"I don't know how you got here," she snarled, "but you've interfered for the last time. You're going to" –

"Why?" Uki screamed. "Why did you kill our people, Meriwa? Why did you do it? Why did you destroy the people who loved us?"

"Loved you, maybe," Meriwa answered fiercely. "I was never loved by any of them, least of all by my mother! Fortunately, I have learned well. While you were off wandering the world, I secretly learned how to harness the Heart's power for myself. I will use it to defeat the Whisperian army!"

"Please, don't do this," Uki begged. "The world will be destroyed! There won't be anything left!"

"I don't care!" Meriwa lifted her hands. "You won't be able to stop me!"

Uki saw in horror as rainbow energy siphoned itself into Meriwa's hands. She stared down at herself, shocked and desperate. She stared at her hands hopelessly, wondering what she should do.

And then she saw it. The rainbow object she'd found in the wheel stared back at her, shining with power. She stared at it, making out what it was.

It was a key. The key was shining brilliantly, filled with incredible power. In a flash, she realized what she needed to do. I need to use it to lock the Heart, for once and for all. She turned towards Meriwa.

"You're wrong," she said. Her voice suddenly sounded bold, less like a child's and more like an adult's. "I will stop you. You will not win!" She flew out of the Heart, gazing down at its center.

She pointed the Key down, and energy shot from it at Meriwa. Meriwa screamed as she was knocked down by the Key's magic. But that only lasted a second; she stood up, clearly furious.

"I'll show you!" she shouted, siphoning more power from the Heart. She flew upwards, shooting Uki with the power.

"I'll destroy you!" she yelled. Uki yelled as she was hit by the blast, stunned at the raw amount of power Meriwa held. She caught the air with her wings just in time. Meriwa cackled, lifting her hands at the Heart.

All of a sudden, the Heart exploded with energy. A comet of energy shot up from its north and south entrance, straight through the Poles. Uki realized, with a flash of horror, that the magic would extend from the Poles, destroying everything in its way. "No!" she shouted.

She had to do something. She had to stop Meriwa, before the whole world was destroyed. She stared upwards, seeing the destructive energy shooting through the only passageways out of the Heart.

But I can stop it. She pointed her Key downwards, concentrating hard. Suddenly, Meriwa's face changed from gleeful to fearful as Uki harnessed the energy, containing the comets of light.

Her entire aura filled with power. She pushed the energy back down into the Heart, stopping it from ripping through the Poles. Using her Key, she contained the power into the Heart, forcing the energy down. But it was very strong, and she knew she wouldn't be able to keep it up. Suddenly, she realized what she had to do.

I have to seal the chamber. She flew up above the northern entrance, pointing the Key down. A blast of light shined on the southern side, and she saw the portal on that side closing up, earth moving to close the entrance. Now all she had to do was close the northern entrance. She lifted her hands, pushing the earth forth –

She screamed as she was hit in the back, falling onto a ledge. The comet from the northern entrance shot up, and she felt the energy shooting through the air. With only one side open, the Heart was unstable; she knew it was about to capsize the entire core. Meriwa flew above her, cackling.

"This is the end," she laughed. She pointed her magic at Uki, ready to destroy her.

In that moment, Uki saw herself. She saw herself not as the weak, scared girl of her former tribe, but as a strong, fierce woman. She saw herself as the incredible person she was, despite her mistake of letting Meriwa take all the blame for their expedition. That wasn't my fault. I deserve to live a life, as does the rest of the world. I deserve to be free! She lifted her Key, rising high into the air.

The energy was pushed back into the chamber. Uki matched Meriwa's curse, her spell shooting into the other fairy's. Her green spell met Meriwa's blue one, in an eternal combat. She pushed more and more, all the while keeping the rainbow energy down.

Come on, come on… She focused all the power of her body into the spell, never letting go. Eventually, the spell hit Meriwa in the chest. She screamed as she fell back into the chamber, where the comet's energy was.

Now! Uki shot upwards into the North Pole, using all of her energy to seal the chamber. Shooting through the portal not a second too soon, she watched as it closed up, the white light dissipating from the North Pole.

And in that moment, Uki felt herself entering a green cocoon. A long green dress formed over her white skin, and her long brown hair fell down, braided at the top. A silver necklace appeared around her throat, and silver jewelry on her wrists and ankles. Black wings spun out, filled with formidable power.

My Enchantix! She had gained her Enchantix through the raw power of liberation and strength. Exhilarated, she watched as the cocoon dissipated; she gazed up.

The Whisperian armada was flying towards her, having caught the sight of the power she held. They shot jets down towards her, fury in their gazes. Clearly, they were ready to destroy her for once and for all.

But she was ready. Using the last of the Heart's energy stored inside the Key, she blasted them upwards. Concentrating on all her newfound Enchantix power, she sent a massive wave of rainbow energy into the sky, flinging the entire Whisperian fleet far into space. She lifted her hands, sending a rainbow shot of energy upwards.

A barrier formed around the entire planet, stopping any invaders from entering. It shined brilliantly, rainbow and formidable. And just like that, the battles were over. Uki knew it would be a very, very long time until someone came to invade Earth again.

"We're safe," she whispered to herself. "Now no one will ever hurt us again."

Three weeks later, Uki returned to Tír na nÓg. The children exclaimed over her, the adults cheerfully welcomed her, and the chieftains treated her like a hero. She soon learned their language, speaking with great precision and strength. Though her old family, the Southern Tribe, was gone, she had a new one, which she would never lose.

And yet, she knew there was much more work to be done. Even after the Whisperians had been expelled, Earth was still in turmoil. The different fairy tribes still quarreled with each other, and they despised humans. Now that humans were starting to spread all over the world, they needed more protection than ever.

Danu showed Uki her black circlet. The one she wore around her head; she said it was no longer of use to her. She told Uki to find a use for it, as she had more power than she ever could. Uki accepted the gift, wondering what was to be done.

Her sixteenth birthday soon came, on the summer solstice. And on that day, Uki decided she needed to change things. She stood at the top of the tree castle, calling all of Tír na nÓg.

"May I have your attention?" she called. Everyone crowded around the castle, gazing up at her with great respect. She held out the black circlet in her hands, gazing at the people before her.

"The time has come for a new age," she announced. "For too long, fairykind has been divided and quarrelsome. Many wars have overtaken our people, and we have destroyed one another to bits. It's time for that to change.

"Therefore, I am creating six more queendoms. The six main civilizations of the fay – Atlantis, the Benben Lands, Xuanpu, Peristan, the World Tree, and Mount Meru – all are to be each ruled by a new Faerie Queen." She gazed down. "Sages, please come up here."

The Six Sages stepped forward, each of them holding out their amulets. Uki took their amulets, using her magic to lift them into the sky. The jewels on the amulets rose into the air, shining with incredible power. In the center of the circlet shimmered the rainbow Key, infused with power and light.

"What are you doing?" Dagda asked.

Uki watched as the stones shimmered, filling the island with the same rainbow light as before. A red ruby, orange amber, yellow topaz, green emerald, blue sapphire, and purple amethyst each took a spot on the black circlet, shimmering brilliantly. The Key sent magic everywhere, strengthening the artifact. She gave it to the chieftess, who stared at her, her mouth agape.

"This is the Black Circle," she declared. "The Black Circle will be the seat of power for all of fairykind; it will connect this island to the other Six Fairy Realms. I will be its guardian, as will the rest of my line. I trust you, Six Sages, to rule over each queendom with strength and power." She turned towards Akna, holding out the Key.

"I will trust you, Chieftain of the Arctic, with the Key that closed the Heart," she declared. "You will be its guardian. I hereby declare you now the Major Fairy of the North, protecting the Pole from ever being breached again." She turned to Ajareaty, who gazed at her with a fierce pride in her eyes.

"Queen Ajareaty of Amazonia," she said, "you are the one who led me throughout all of this. Though I thought you were fatally wounded when I disappeared through the portal, you emerged just as strong as ever. I therefore ask of you: continue to nurture the earth. I hereby declare you the Major Fairy of Nature." She turned lastly to the chieftess.

"Chieftess Danu," she said, "you have ruled this island justly over the past several years. You know this island better than anyone else could hope to. In addition, you show great impartiality by allowing humans to coexist peacefully with the fay. I hereby declare you the Major Fairy of Justice. Continue to rule with fairness and justice, and you shall make Tír na nÓg proud."

"What about you?" Danu asked. "What role are you going to take?"

Uki took in a deep breath, then spoke.

"I shall rule all of Earth," she declared. "I am your new leader. But unlike the empires of old, I shall not conquer any of the other fairy tribes and queendoms. I shall be here whenever peace is needed, and rule the world with my strength. My line shall protect this island of many names, the Paradise of all fairies and humans. Rise, people of Paradise, for we are here to usher the world into a new age." She knelt before her people, her brown hair falling forward.

For a second, there was silence. Then Danu placed the Black Circle over her hair. The Circle glowed on her head, and then the Fairy of Justice spoke. "Rise, High Faerie Queen Uki Kallik le Fay!"

"Uki!" the people thundered. Uki rose to her feet, gazing down at her people with a sense of pride and joy.

She would protect them at all costs. She would make sure that they rose to greatness, that peace ushered through the world. They would be powerful. She stood, happiness rising through her as the people of Paradise called out.

Roxy stared at the face before her, stunned. That was an incredible story… Uki gazed up at her, her expression grave.

"I came here because I knew it would happen again," she finished. "Though I sealed off the Heart, it can still be set off. But as long as at least one portal is closed, it cannot go off."

So I just won't open the North Pole Portal. Relief flooded through Roxy. There's no need to worry. But then Uki's eyes darkened.

"Beware," she warned. "Beware of the dangers that the Heart will bring. It will destroy everything and everyone, killing all of nature. You must stop it – there is no other way. Otherwise, the whole world will go up in flames. You must save the world." With that, the vision disappeared, showing Roxy's face on the mirrored ground once more.

"I will," Roxy vowed. "I won't let that portal open."

"Really?" a voice drawled behind her; Aonbharr neighed in shock. Roxy let out a gasp and turned around.

Nebula and her fairies were standing behind her, having successfully broken through the barrier. Nebula smirked at her, her expression demonic. Roxy glared at her.

"You," she realized. "You've taken Musa and Krithi! What have you done to them?"

"Oh, don't worry about them," Nebula laughed. "Worry about what's going to happen now. The portal is going to open, and you are going to watch as humanity is destroyed!"

"No!" Roxy shouted back, fear and anger in her voice. "I won't open the portal!"

"I don't need you," Nebula laughed. Suddenly she lunged forward, shooting at Roxy's head.

Roxy tried to fight back, but a second later, she was pinned down. Aonbharr tried to come to her rescue, but a Warrior Fairy blasted him back. Four Warrior Fairies held her down as Nebula plucked something off her head. Then they let go, and Roxy stared up in horror.

Nebula was holding the White Circle.

"Goodbye," she cackled. With the Black Circle in her left hand and the White Circle in her right, she shot downwards, towards the center of the core.

"Wait!" Roxy shouted, flying after her. The demonic fairy lifted the two artifacts up, pointing it straight towards the mouth of the chamber. Roxy watched in horror as it lit up, shining brilliantly.

And then a white light shot from the center, rising up through the core.

"No!" Roxy cried out in shock. Nebula laughed.

"You really thought I wouldn't do it?" she laughed. "You thought yourself stronger than me? I am going to win, and you know it!"

"You can't!" Roxy cried out. "You don't know how many deaths will follow!"

"That's the whole point!" Nebula snarled back. "I am opening it so humanity will be wiped out!"

"It'll destroy you, too!" Roxy screamed back. "Is that what you want?"

"You speak nonsense," Nebula snorted. "Once the Heart is activated, the White Circle will go up in flames. There will be no humanity left."

Leaping on Aonbharr's back, Roxy shot upwards, heading straight towards the sky. One of the Warrior Fairies flew after her.

"Let her go!" Nebula thundered. "She is the perfect messenger. Let her squeal off to her Winx friends!"

On Aonbharr's back, Roxy shot into the North Pole. I've got to warn them… She disappeared, the magic shooting her upwards as she stepped out into the light.

Musa and Krithi try to escape from the core.

Cherie helps the Pixies and the other Winx defend Gardenia against the Warrior Fairies.

Note: I just want to make one thing clear that wasn't clear before. One hundred thousand years before Roxy's time (the time of Uki's story as chronicled above), Uki created a barrier around Earth. This is the reason why Earth was never invaded, and humans and fairies had no recollection of the alien invaders, beyond the stories of green-skinned aliens (back then, the Whisperian warlocks had green skin). After the Wizards imprisoned the fay and Merlin was trapped himself, the barrier fell. Then, the UR was able to capture the Wizards and throw them in Omega. The UR did build invisible spaceports around Earth, but that was just so some curious fairies and warlocks could travel. Beyond that, they never really did anything on Earth – the few people who went didn't use magic there at all. Earth remained more-or-less untouched by the UR until the Winx showed up.
