Hey everyone! This just came to mind when I was reading all your fanfics one night. It's a small and shortoneshot about Sharpay and Troy. Enjoy! (Whoa, that rhymed!)
Disclaimer: I don't own it. I never did, I don't now, and sadly, I never will.
She spent hours at the dreary window, hoping to gaze at something, anything that could direct her thoughts somewhere else—away from the torture of being herself. The horrible façade of being somebody who she really wasn't was beginning to tear the joy of life from her slowly but surely.
Her heart suffered through every beat. He… He was the topic of every vision, every dream or nightmare she had at night. Day after day, year after year, she tried to bury her feelings deep within her. Pressure came. She longed to express her true feelings towards him. But she couldn't. She was afraid of the outcome.
Their friendship was too fragile to be risked like that. If the feelings weren't mutual, she would be crushed. Every moment they shared together would be stolen away and replaced with barren fields of sorrow. So she kept them to herself. What was she supposed to do?
Her reality was safe for now, locked up within herself. She was satisfied with that. She was, until she came along.
She had barged into her perfect life. Without a second thought, she had taken all that she ever wanted away from her. She stole away the music, and she stole away the love. What once had belonged to her and her brother was instantaneously ripped from them. Heartbroken, she shied away from the entire world for a while.
Frustrated tears followed, and she found comfort in her brother. Wrapped in his warm embrace, all was temporarily forgotten. She loved him, but that wasn't quite enough. She wanted to be loved by him.
She waited.
Her deepest ambition was to one day accomplish her dream of being with him. She waited for a whole year.
She was let down and was about to give up.
Then one miraculous day, her knight in shining armor came to rescue her. He came to lift her out of the ocean of misery she pondered in. At last, she was free. He had realized that he hadn't truly been in love with her. He was in love with the one who had waited for him.
Now the future could be seen. They would ride the rollercoaster of life together—hand in hand, heart to heart, soul to soul. A million possibilities of happiness were ready to burst out of the enclosed case it was set in. Those were the little things in life that would be remembered forever and a day.
When she went back and thought about her life if she ever felt lost or unsure, there was only one reason. It took her all those countless years to realize that there was only one conclusion. She was in the midst of love, it could only be.
