Magical Origins

Year 1: Summer Begins

Harry stood in front of the Hogwarts express. Everyone was getting ready to return home. However, for Harry, he had to return to the Dursley's. Dumbledore told him he was protected by Blood Wards. He would just have to stay there until his next birthday, then he can go where he wants. At first, Harry thought of disobeying Dumbledore and just head straight to Artemis's family and meet them. The fifteen-year-old really teased him relentlessly.

Ron and Hermione both visited Lily while Artemis visited Harry.

"So, Dumbledore told you," Artemis said to Harry as he was sitting up in his bed.

"You never told me," Harry said.

"I wasn't allowed to. Dumbledore talks to all your vassals, telling them to wait until you turn seventeen before revealing ourselves. He didn't want you to be put under pressure to govern us."

"What are you exactly," Harry asks Artemis. He was afraid she was a slave. He would not allow it. He didn't want a slave when he grew up as one.

"I guess the best thing to describe me is that I'm a servant. House Wynter is one of the houses that stands behind you. House Potter once had over thirty houses behind them. Now, only three of us remain. My job is the follow your wishes in your time of need and support House Potter. I also represent House Potter, and I have to do what is best for House Potter."

"Going to help him become the next Dark Lord, are you." Ron snarled.

"Ron!" Hermione shouted.

"She is, she's a Slytherin. You should hear Percy talking about her. She's really nasty and is cruel. She torments people for fun!" Ron shouted, pointing an accusing finger at her.

"I'm going to have a talk with Professor Snape about Percy Weasley," Artemis said in a cold tone of voice. "My house is filled with Honor. We owe everything to the Potters. If memory serves me correctly, the Weasley's once stood as one of the Great Magical House of Britain. Then after they got into a dispute with House Malfoy, they put their great status at stake against Malfoy and lost. Force to serve the Malfoy's as a Vassal. Only when your grandfather betrayed his Lord, Lord Abraxas Malfoy, resulting in his death, House Weasley lost all property and dignity and respect. Everyone knows that the Weasley family is a house of traitors." Artemis said coldly.

"Why, you fucking whore…" Ron snarled.

"Ron!" Hermione shouted.

"That's enough." Madam, Pomfrey shouted. "If you can't behave, I'll dismiss you at once." She said.

"Oh, and Weasley, for disrespecting me, you've just earned yourself detention," Artemis said with a smirk.

Ron grinned his teeth dangerously as he knew he couldn't respond, and Artemis did have the authority to punish him.

"Wait till I tell Percy," Ron mutters.

"A week of detention, Weasley," Artemis said out loud.

"For what!" Ron snaps.

"For threatening a Prefect," Artemis said with a grin.

Ron began to shake so violently he was radiating anger.

"Let it go, Ron," Lily said. "Didn't you come to cheer me up. Or did you come to cause trouble?"

That got Ron's attention as he finally turns away from Harry and Artemis.

"So we finished in last," Harry said, turning to Artemis.

"Flint is angry. More to the fact you got injured and couldn't play to defeat the Hufflepuff seeker. He thought it would be amusing…" Artemis said slowly. "If he put a bone breaker hex in your drink. He didn't like the fact that his tongue was glued to the roof of his mouth, and he earned month detention from me for attempting to harm you. Professor Snape yelled at him when I reported him. Flint can't touch you without risking getting expelled. Though I must say, you caused quite the stir in Slytherin." Artemis said with a smile.

"Did we know each other before?" Harry asks slowly.

"I doubt you would remember. But yes, I did meet you when you were about six months old. I use to carry you in my arms. I was even present for your first birthday." Artemis smiles a sad smile. "You were so happy back then."

"You had to have been what? Five? Six years old?"

"You know your math. When my parents heard what happen to your mother and father, they were devastated. The pension that you be brought to them immediately as James and Lily wanted the Wynter's to raise you in case they should die. However, Dumbledore overruled them by pointing out that the Death Eaters were searching for you, and you were safer in the Muggle world. I was sad and wonder what happens to you. I tried to write you letters, but none ever did reach you. Dumbledore's magic is indeed powerful."

"What becomes of us?" Harry asks.

"That's for you to decide. I know my place. Truth be told, I'm happy with it. I can watch you become a great wizard. Though I will warn you now, if you do indeed become a dark wizard, then I am honor-bound to strike you down."

Harry smiles as he looks down. Artemis was a true friend. Something he greatly wanted.

"How is the House of Slytherin taking my latest adventure?" Harry asks. It was then he notices Lily, Ron, and Hermione stop talking, and we're listening carefully without turning their heads.

"Some are shocked that you stood up to Professor Quirrell. Truth be told, no one has really stood in judgment of you. Though I wouldn't be surprised if you got more supporters now. What really happened down there?" Artemis asks eagerly.

"Voldemort happened," Harry said. He then explains everything that happened down in the Forbidden Corridor. Leaving out the elemental parts so that Ron and Hermione wouldn't know.

"You-Know-Who was in the school this entire time," Artemis said in shock.

"Don't tell anyone. Dumbledore doesn't want it to spread around. It may cause panic." Harry said.

"I would imagine so. You know Professor Snape awarded you a hundred points." Artemis said with pride in her voice.

"What! Why?" Harry asks eagerly.

"For bringing Honor to the House of Slytherin," Artemis said with a large grin on her face. "This is the most he's ever awarded, someone."

"I can't imagine," Harry said slowly.

"This puts us in first place for the Hogwarts House Cup. Oh, Percy loves it." Artemis said.

Both of them chuckle before laughing.

"Lily, if we tell Professor McGonagall you stop Quirrell, then I'm sure she'll award you house points…" Ron began.

"I doubt it. Even if I do get a hundred points, it won't be enough to beat Slytherin. Don't you remember we lost a hundred and fifty points on that night." Lily said, sadly.

Harry and Artemis burst out laughing even louder than it caused Madam Pomfrey to come out of her office.

"What is wrong with you?" She started.

"Sorry, Madam Pomfrey." They said, trying to contain their laughter.

Artemis then kisses Harry on his forehead. Harry paused by her boldness. When she leans back, she was smiling at him.

"I foresee you become a great wizard, Harry. I'm happy to serve under you." Artemis said. In saying that, she gets up and leaves.

"Out." Madam Pomfrey said to Ron and Hermione.

"But we were…" Hermione began.

"Out, you've been here for thirty minutes, they need rest. Out." Madam Pomfrey said, with no choice, Ron and Hermione got and left.

A week later, they were finally discharged. The House of Slytherin were happy their star pupil was back.

Harry looked at the new post of the Students of the Year.

Harry paused as he looked at his name. He was rank number one. That meant he was the best first year. Lily was in second place. Harry smile at the thought.

They talked awhile in the Healer Ward when they both left, they left as friends. Lily promised to write Harry letters over the summer and see if she could get him to come to visit. Harry told her Weasley would flip out if he found out. She chuckled as she agreed with him. This was the first time a Slytherin and a Gryffindor really became friends. The two houses were known for loathing each other.

For the House of Slytherin, they didn't win the House Cup as they thought. Dumbledore awarded Gryffindor last-minute points, putting them ahead of Slytherin. Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw both cheered at the downfall of Slytherin.

For Harry, he agreed with Artemis that the whole thing was childish.

He never told anyone the duel he had with Lily the night before they got on the train.

Memory Reflection Charm Ends

Harry put his trunk up and sits down. The weather began to get hotter. For many students, this was a welcome change from the winter cold. For Harry, it was hard to stand the weather, mostly due to the fact he was a water elemental. He was more comfortable with the snow and ice around Hogwarts.

Students began to pack up and find compartments before settling in. Artemis walks in the compartment and sits down next to Harry. Blaise Zabini, along with Draco Malfoy, Daphne Greengrass, and Tracy Davis, all the good Slytherin, depending on how you viewed Malfoy. Artemis said nothing but gave Harry a warning look when she moved her eyes to Malfoy. Harry didn't need to know that Artemis was telling him to be wary of Malfoy.

"I'm going to put some…" Draco paused as he looks at Harry. "some lower classmen in their place." Draco said slowly. He gets up and leaves, and Harry knew at once he was off to find Lily and put her down. He was still sore about being attacked, and she was still in school.

Harry didn't have to wait long, Draco came back with signs of being torched.

"That Gryffindor is crazy. She's learning fire magic. She tried to set me on fire! Do something." Draco said as he turns to Artemis to do something.

"It's the end of the year, there's nothing I can do," Artemis said coldly.

A knock on the door and someone opens it. Harry groans as he sees Percy Weasley standing there.

"Wynter, you aren't doing your Prefect duties." He said coldly.

"Who are you, my father?" Artemis snaps.

Percy flushed red but didn't rise to the bait.

"As a Prefect, you have to set examples…" Percy began he lecture, but Artemis cut him off.

"Bite me," Artemis said.

Percy's lip trembles a bit as he stares hard at Artemis.

"You're behavior is what makes guys, not like you… that's why you don't have a boyfriend."

"I don't have a boyfriend because people like you… are too immature," Artemis said with her lip curl into a smirk.

This time Percy flush deep red. He grips his wand tightly as he glares hard at Artemis.

"Dueling is not permitted, Percy. Be a good lamb and walk away." Artemis said with a smirk on her face.

"You need to shape up, or you'll be out of Hogwarts next year." Percy snaps as he turns heel and walks out of the compartment.

"I hate him," Harry said the moment Percy was out of earshot.

"So do I. All he cares about are rules, he doesn't exactly set examples as he tries to tell other Prefects to. For me, there is a time and place to be a Prefect and a time and a place to relax and enjoy yourself." Artemis said.

'It also doesn't help that you're part of a noble house. Even as a Vassal, you still have great power and influence. The Weasley's have lost all that. Not to mention Artemis is beautiful I'm sure guys are all over her.'

The Slytherin first years all chatted away as Artemis got up to join her friends.

The train eventually came to a halt, and everyone got their things as they were prepared to spend the holidays with their families.

Many students waved goodbye to Harry.

Harry paused as he notices Artemis talking to a woman and man who had to be her parents. For a strange reason, Harry suddenly became very nervous.

"Harry!" Artemis said in a thrilling voice as she waved him over. "Harry, these are my parents. My father, Samuel Wynter, and my mother, Olivia Wynter." Artemis said as she introduces her parents.

"Hello," Harry said weakly.

"Lord Potter, it brings me great joy to see you once again." Samuel Wynter said in a pleasant voice. This surprise Harry as he was expecting a rough voice. Even questions about why he was with his daughter. He almost forgot that the Wynter's were vassals to him.

"You've grown much since I last saw you. I know Lily would be proud." Olivia Wynter said as she looks down upon him.

"Er… thank you." Harry said slowly.

"We've spoken to Dumbledore, he told us you can come over for your birthday you can come to visit us for the remainder of the holidays. I know Morgan's will be delighted to see you again. As well as the Pearce's." Samuel Wynter said.

"They're Vassals under me correct," Harry said.

"Yes, we all serve the Potters. You'll see them for your birthday. The Morgan's have a daughter that will be entering Hogwarts next year."

"Can I ask for a favor?" Harry suddenly said.

"What is it?" Samuel Wynter asks.

"Can you intimidate the Dursley's for me. I would have a much easier summer if they were afraid wizards would come knocking on their door if they did anything to me." Harry said with a grin.

"The Dursley's, that's Vernon and Petunia Dursley correct." Olivia Wynter said. "Lily's sister."

"Well, they don't like magic, and I'm sure they're going to try to bully me worse than ever. If they knew that all it took was for me to whistle and wizards would show up, they would leave me alone." Harry said.

"I never like them, it would feel good to put them in their place." Samuel Wynter said as he leads the way outside the barrier.

The Dursley's weren't hard to find. They stood waiting impatiently in their car.

"Vernon Dursley." Samuel Wynter said as he approaches the man. Harry and Artemis stood by Olivia Wynter and gave them a cold look. Dudley whimper at the sight of Harry.

"Do I know you, sir?" Vernon grunted in a rude tone of voice.

"No, and you'll wish you hadn't." Samuel Wynter said coldly. Harry was surprised at how he went from warm and open to cold and harsh.

"Look, I don't have time…" Vernon began, but Samuel Wynter cut him off.

"You are the current guardian of my lord, one Harry James Potter." Samuel Wynter stated coldly. Vernon's face paled significantly.

"What's it to you," Vernon said slowly.

"My lord's wellbeing is my concern. He has… told me great things about you, Dursley." Samuel said slowly. This was a lie, as Harry told Artemis nothing about his muggle relatives. But it did cause Vernon to pale greatly. Even Petunia paled greatly. "If I get so much as a whiff that my Lord has not been treated well while in your household, I shall see to it that you are punished… greatly for your offense to my lord." Samuel said in a cold voice. Pausing to let his words take effect.

"We have ways of knowing." Olivia Wynter added. "If you cross a line, we'll make you wish you have never been born. We can even take your son away from you if you wish to test us." She added with a sweet smile.

"You can't take my son," Vernon said slowly and in a weak voice.

"Give us no reason to take action, and you'll live in peace." Samuel Wynter said coldly. "However, cross a line, and I'll bathe your house in your own blood," Samuel said in a harsh voice.

The effect of his words causes Vernon to back away as he if he didn't know how to take being threatened from a wizard well.

"My Lord Potter," Samuel said, turning to Harry. "I shall pick you up personally on your birthday. So many of your servants eagerly await your return." He added.

"Bye, Harry," Artemis said. She kisses him on the forehead like she did in the Healer Ward, and Harry was pleased to see Dudley flush red over the fact that he was getting kissed by a beautiful girl.

"I'll try to write soon," Harry said.

The Wynter's wave their goodbye and disappeared around the corner.

Harry said nothing as he turns to the Dursley's. The shock was written all over their faces. They slowly turn to Harry, who was trying not to grin from ear to ear.

"Let's go home, shall we, Uncle Vernon," Harry said, causing Vernon to yelp like a kitten.

Nothing else was said as Harry put his trunk in the trunk as he held Hedwig's cage on his lap as he rode off with his relatives back to Private Drive.

The summer was looking better already.

Author Notes: I hope everyone enjoys it. Let this be the last time I say this, I have Permission to use the basis of Sage Ra story, Harry Potter and the Elemental's Power to write this one. I'm not copying, nor am I stealing the story. It is not Evil, no Great Darkness, just insane overly power kids taking on the magical world.

The purpose behind Lily's character is something I found J.K. Rowling was lacking as she never did give Harry a rival. Lily is both his friend and rival. Someone to keep him in check as well to push him to his limits. Draco Malfoy can't be called Harry's opponent as he more the school bully than a rival.

I hope everyone enjoys this chapter. Please R&R, as I like reading reviews. The more reviews are the better.
