Magical Origins

Year 3: Terror on the Express

With Percy finding some excuse, or rather, the same ones repeated, to burst into the room every night, Artemis and Harry couldn't take it any further. Though they still kissed and cuddled in front of him. It was amusing them to see Percy and Ron's red face whenever they were together. It got even funnier when Olivia brought Artemis' muggle bikini, and she was walking around in it to ". Ron turned so red he went darker than his hair.

Even Hermione was jealous. At first, she tried to tell them in her bossy attitude that it was wrong. She had even tried to convey to Olivia, but Olivia had a smile on her face and told her to mind her own business. As Harry had the right to be with whom he wants.

Right now, Artemis was sitting on the balcony in her bikini, leaning against Harry. Two years of regular Quidditch training was starting to show some definite perks for his physique.

"Harry," Mrs. Weasley said as she walks on the balcony.

Harry turns to look at her.

"What is it, Mrs. Weasley?" Harry asks coldly.

"Come inside, we are eating lunch and would love for you to join us." Mrs. Weasley said.

"If I'm going to eat, it will be with my Vassals. I don't know you," Harry said coldly.

"It wouldn't hurt to get some food. I'll put on my robes." Artemis said. She gets up and walks past Mrs. Weasley, who gave her a cold look. The moment they were alone, Mrs. Weasley turns to Harry.

"Harry, Ginny is a lovely girl who…" Mrs. Weasley began.

"Not interested." Harry snaps.

"You need a proper…"

"Let's make one thing clear," Harry hissed as he stood up. "I know my position well. The only reason why you want to offer your daughter to me is that it would mean you wouldn't be scrapping at the bottom of the barrel. I have," Harry said as he walks past her. "No interest in your family. Or your daughter, for that matter. I will end up with whom I want. I will not join your family." In saying that, Harry turns and walks away.

"Tch, that woman is such a buzzkill," Harry muttered as he walks into his room.

Ever since that first night, Mrs. Weasley has been barging in their room regular, interrupting their make-out sessions. She claimed she was making sure he was alright, but the truth was she has been attempting to fix Harry up with her daughter unsubtly. She even tried to have Ginny sit next to him and put Artemis on the other end of the table.

Olivia put an end to that when she threatened to take them back to the manor.

To ensure that she did stop, Harry had Olivia speak to the Minister of Magic to put the Weasleys in line, or else Arthur Weasley would lose his job.

That quickly put a stop to almost everything. Sadly, it didn't stop Mrs. Weasley from trying to get Ginny to have Harry warm up to her.

Another problem they were having was Ron Weasley's stubbornness. No matter how much Harry offered, Ron refused to part with his rat. His brothers, though, Fred and George, were insistent that he accepts Harry's generous offer and get an owl. Ron stubbornly refused, though, instead claiming he was going to keep his rat.

Tonight was the last night they were staying at the Leaky Cauldron — dinner for once, enjoyable. Olivia and Artemis were sitting with Harry, with Lily sitting next to Olivia. The Weasley family were thankfully not paying attention to the Wynter's and Harry for once.

"Hey, Dad, how are we getting to King's Cross tomorrow?" Percy suddenly asks.

"The Ministry is providing a couple of their special cars." Arthur Weasley said.

"Why?" Percy asks.

"It's because of you, Perce," George said in a serious tone of voice. "And there'll be little flags on them with HB on them –"

"– for Humongous Bighead," Fred said with a grin.

Everyone sans, Mrs. Weasley and Percy himself, couldn't stop it as they burst into various cacophony of laughs and chuckles. Mrs. Weasley looked like she didn't find the whole thing funny at all. Neither did Percy, who gives his twin brothers a nasty glare.

"So why is the Ministry providing cars?" Percy asks again.

"I'm merely doing them a favor." Mr. Weasley admitted as he eyes Harry quickly before returning to his meal.

It soon became clear as to why Mister Weasley, a man with no high standing would get Ministry cars. It was because of Harry.

It dawns on Harry that the Ministry wanted to keep an eye on him until he was safely at Hogwarts. As Arthur Weasley worked for the Ministry, he had an excuse to watch him until he was on the train.

"It's a good thing too." Mrs. Weasley said. "Do you all realize how much luggage you've all got between you all? You're all packed, aren't you?" she asks her children.

"Ron hasn't put his new things in his trunk yet. They're all over my bed," Percy said.

"You better go pack Ron, you won't have time in the morning." Mrs. Weasley said. She turns to Harry. "What about you, Harry, dear?" Harry felt a sickening feeling enter his stomach.

'Who does she think she is, my mother?'

"None of your concern," Olivia stated, coldly.

Mrs. Weasley look like she wanted to protest, but Arthur spoke before she could.

"I understand, but please understand we have to be ready to go." Arthur Weasley stated calmly.

"The Ministry cars will wait until we're ready," Artemis stated coldly.

"I understand that, but please understand that we're leaving as early as possible. At eight o'clock. Please be ready by then." Mrs. Weasley said.

"Why so early? The train leaves at eleven." Lily asks.

"Number of reasons." Arthur Weasley said.

Harry said nothing as he got up and went to his room. He was reading his Book of Shadows, not noticing the time passing by. That was until Percy burst into the room.

"Do you ever knock!" Artemis shouted as she pulls her robes up in front of her. She was on the verge of undressing. Percy ignores her as he stares at Harry.

"Give it back," Percy said in a threatening tone of voice.

"Give what back?" Harry asks without a care in the world.

"My Head Boy badge, Ron said he saw you take it."

"You're a fool to believe your brother. For your information, I saw your brothers, the twins with it." Harry stated coldly.

"I'm not falling for that…" Percy began.

"OUT!" Artemis screamed.

"What's going on?" As other customers starting coming out of their rooms.

"Percy is trying to grope Artemis," Harry shouted.

"I am not," Percy shouted.

"Then why did you burst in here without knocking?" Artemis shouted.

Everyone started mumbling as Percy glares at them.

"I'm not leaving…"

"GET OUT!" Artemis screams.

"What is going on?" Olivia said as she walks up to them.

"Get him out, mom!" Artemis shouted.

"Harassing my daughter, your family is one without honor. I see they failed to teach you manners." Olivia stated, coldly. "Now, get out, or I'll vanish your family jewels."

Olivia's words may have as well have been cold as ice. Many nearby wizards visibly flinched when they realized what Olivia Wynter was going to do.

Arthur Weasley walks up and grabs his son, dragging him off as Percy still complains about his Head Boy badge missing.

"Go back to your rooms. The show is over." Olivia Wynter said as she closes the door behind her. Everyone returns to their rooms, talking about what happened.

"I swear that family is one of the most disrespectful ones I have ever met…" Olivia mutters as she sits down.

"You're staying?" Harry said in surprise.

"I am, despite what the Weasley's may say, I don't trust them with you," Olivia stated.

"I'm going to go to the bar real quick. I'm getting a bit thirsty." Harry said as he puts his book down.

"Don't take too long, and don't wander off," Olivia said. Artemis began underdressing again now that Percy Weasley was gone.

Harry walks down and heard voices.

"Are you certain we should tell him? The Wynter's aren't exactly…" Mrs. Weasley said.

"We are not Vassals under the Potter's. I warn you once Molly, do not anger Harry Potter. I know if he and Ginny get together, it would be a good thing, but we can't force them together. Ron hasn't exactly been a help in the matter. However, this isn't about what's best for the family; it's about…."

"Arthur, the truth would terrify him!" Mrs. Weasley said in a shrill voice. "Do you honestly want him to go to school with that hanging over his head? For Merlin's sake, he's happy not knowing."

"I don't want to upset him or make him miserable, but I do want him to be on his guard. If the Wynter's found out, we did this without their approval. Then there will be hell to pay. You've heard what Lily has said about him. The dangerous and adventures they've had. Harry mustn't go looking for trouble this year. I feared the worse when he went missing. That's why I ended our vacation to help find him! Had they not tracked him down, I feared the worse if Black had found him."

"Those Vassals are a problem." Mrs. Weasley said. "They shield Harry from our family. Harry would be better off with us than them. They are merely using him for his wealth and fame. We could…"

"Do not make things worse, Molly. The Morgan's, the Pearce's, and the Wynter's are all-powerful families whose influence and power rival a Great House! Do not forget they serve Harry Potter. Even if we may disagree with them, the fact remains it is they who are in charge of Harry Potter's safety. Samuel Wynter wasn't pleased that you were harassing Harry and talking down upon his daughter. If you overstep your boundaries again, I'll lose my job! And Percy, you know Percy wants to work at the Ministry. That could end in an instant. Or do you want this family, which has struggled because of my father's mistake to dig itself a deeper hole?"

"If Harry can see that we are an honorable family…"

"Percy didn't help with that. Not to mention, he doesn't like Artemis Wynter. The heir of the Wynter family. The Wynter's have Harry's ear. Do not forget the Potter's right now are considered the strongest of the Great Families. Harry may be underage, but do not underestimate his voice. It would be good if he and Ginny got together. We must face the facts that they won't. You've heard the rumors."

"I refuse to believe them…" Mrs. Weasley said slowly.

"If he has taken an interest in Artemis Wynter, a witch who is four years his senior, then Ginny doesn't stand a chance. I know she's been dreaming of marrying Harry since she was little, but we must face reality. Our only chance would be to get Harry to drink a love potion…"

"That could work." Mrs. Weasley said slowly.

"Do not even think about it, or do you want to get this family exiled from Britain! I know it may be a chance, but the Vassals would never let us get near him. If we are caught, Harry could throw us all in Azkaban for Line Theft. You know how serious that is."

"If Harry would just…"

"Do nothing. Lady Wynter has already spoken to me. She told me specifically that she will take Harry and her daughter and anyone who Harry invites in the first car. We get the second car…"

"You agreed! Arthur, if…"

"I had to. I know you want Harry to ride with us, but we must face the truth of things. The Wynter's are defensive of him. They are barely tolerating us. We need to be in their good graces if we are to speak to Harry."

"That may be," Mrs. Weasley said slowly. "But that doesn't change the fact that…"

"Molly, they say Sirius Black is mad, and maybe he is, but he was smart enough to escape from Azkaban. That's supposed to be impossible. It's been about two months, and no one has seen any signs of Sirius Black. I've thankfully managed to convince Minister Fudge, that we should watch all the former Death Eaters residence and associates in case they're hiding Black."

"And…"

Harry turns around to see Artemis and Olivia in their night robes. Harry puts his finger to his lips, telling them to be quiet. They said nothing as they listen as well.

"So far, Black hasn't gone near them. Or at least we suspect so. We're about to conduct raids on their homes. However, that doesn't change the fact that Black is after…"

"Harry will be perfectly safe at Hogwarts. There's Dumbledore…"

"We thought Azkaban was supposed to be safe. We slept easy in our beds because the Dementors guard the prison. However, if Black can break out of Azkaban, then he can break into Hogwarts."

"No one is sure…" Mrs. Weasley began but stopped as a loud 'thud' echoed from downstairs, which only could assume that Mister Weasley slams his fist into the table.

"I've told you before, Molly. Fudge didn't want this to get out to the press if people knew then there would be panics. Fudge would face a lot of pressure, so he wants to keep this quiet as possible. You know Fudge was there. The night Black escaped, the guards all told Fudge the same thing. Black has been speaking in his sleep for quite some time. Always the same words, 'He's at Hogwarts…' Black is deranged Molly, he wants to kill Harry and bring back You-Know-Who."

"But…"

"You know the rumors surrounding Sirius Black. They say he sat on the Dark Inner Circle! That's the elite of all Death Eaters. Some believe he served as You-Know-Who's chief enforcer and was in many ways his second."

"Well, Arthur, I think you forget about Albus Dumbledore, I don't think…"

"I know, and I agree with you. However, Fudge doesn't want to take any chances. He's stationed Dementors at the school grounds and entrances. Dumbledore wasn't happy. Neither are the House of Lords for that matter."

"But if they catch Black…"

"Then, I'll never say another word against them." Mr. Weasley said wearily. "It's late, and we have to be ready tomorrow, Molly, let's go."

Harry said nothing, nor did he move as he merely sat at the stairs. He looks with them with a smile on his face when he realized he had been listening to them the entire time.

"For your information," Harry said slowly. "The Wynter's have already warned me. Also, it's not your place to tell me what I can and can't do. Also, if I even suspect you of trying to dose me with a love potion, then I will throw you in Azkaban."

"The real question is should we report you for your stupidity," Olivia said.

"Look, our family is struggling if you help us…" Arthur began.

"Don't try to change the subject. You want me because of my wealth and fame. Not for who I am. I am merciful and will let you go with a warning. However, cross a line again, and you'll regret the day you were born." Harry said coldly.

The Weasley's heads said nothing as they realized they were caught. They said nothing more as they walk past Harry and the two Wynter's.

"You better tell Ron and Percy to stay in line. They cause me nothing but trouble since I've arrived. I don't like being accused of things I don't do." Harry called behind them. He didn't have to look to see they were afraid.

Nothing else happened that night as they went their separate ways.

Olivia had decided to get a second bed in the room for herself. She was going to guard Harry to ensure no one else tries to sneak in their room.

With Olivia staying in the room, Harry and Artemis were a bit disappointed as they couldn't get freaky and go all the way. As it would be both their first time. As Artemis told Harry in his ear one night,

"It would be good practice."

Harry grins as he holds Artemis before drifting off to sleep.

Harry woke up at six o'clock with Artemis sleeping peacefully on his chest. Harry lays her head on the pillow and gets up to get ready. He looks at Olivia, who was also sleeping peacefully. Harry studies Olivia and Artemis carefully.

It was almost impossible to tell, due to how close they resemble each other, but Harry would have sworn they were sisters and not mother and daughter. It was hard to believe, but to Harry, they were like sleeping angels in his eyes.

Harry turns away and decides to get ready. He climbs into the shower and washes before he steps out to see Artemis and Olivia were awake.

"You should have woken me up to shower," Artemis said in a sweet pouting voice. Olivia was smiling sweetly.

"You were sleeping so beautifully. I didn't want to disturb you," Harry said.

"Go get ready," Olivia said softly. "You can flirt another time."

Harry smiles as he lets Artemis pass him. He turns to his trunk and puts everything in place. Making sure he had everything.

"Samuel, still working overtime?" Harry asks.

"Unfortunately, things haven't been this tense since the days of You-Know-Who," Olivia said.

"Sorry," Harry mutters.

"Don't be. I know what Samuel has to do. True, we won't see each other much in the upcoming months, but I know him well enough that he wouldn't do this unless he had to. You focus on yourself and your duties." Olivia said as she gets up.

Harry said nothing as he looks at the Wynter's. They meant everything to him. The fact that they were so loyal and treated him more like a son more than anything was all he ever wanted. Even so, he was sure Samuel wouldn't take kindly with Harry being with his daughter. Olivia assured him it was okay and that she would talk to him. What they spoke about Harry wasn't sure. Samuel never said a word to what his daughter was doing to Harry.

Harry suddenly realized that Artemis wanted to take a shower with him. Maybe when they get to Hogwarts, they could share a bath.

Harry's cheeks turn crimson red at the thought.

Olivia wasn't lying. He did have perverted thoughts in his head. He shudders to think if they got worse.

Harry stops and takes deep breaths to calm himself down. After assuring them, he was fine, and his hormones wouldn't go crazy again he gets up and puts on his new Hogwarts robes. He grabs his Quidditch Captain Badge and puts it on.

It didn't take long for either Olivia and Artemis to get ready. Artemis puts on her robes with her Head Girl badge.

They walk down and get some breakfast.

Slowly the Weasley family along with Granger and Lily in tow.

"Eat up. We leave in ten minutes." Mrs. Weasley said in a hushed tone.

Harry, who already finished his breakfast was going over his trunk to make sure everything was in place.

"Arthur, they're here." Mrs. Weasley said.

Harry grabs his trunk and walks out with Artemis and Olivia.

Harry puts his trunk in the first car along with Artemis.

"Hey Lily, we have room up here," Harry said as Lily glares at him. She said nothing as she puts her things in the first car and climbs in.

"Whoa, whoa, where do you think you're going?" Harry asks as Ron attempted to climb in. "Oh, you thought… no, no, you see this is the V.I.P. car, you sit in the family car." Harry said as he closes the trunk and climbs in with Olivia right behind him. The door slams shut, leaving behind a foul mood Ron Weasley who goes to the second car as he tosses his trunk to the ground. Mrs. Weasley harps on her son for his bad behavior.

The ride was smooth, though Lily was giving Harry a hard look. Like she wanted to question him for disrespecting the Weasley's. However, she didn't say anything as Artemis and Olivia were with them.

"A Gryffindor?" Olivia said slowly.

"Yeah,"

"How do you know, Lord Potter?" Olivia asks.

"We met before we started Hogwarts," Harry said.

"Odd, for a Gryffindor to befriend a Slytherin," Olivia stated, calmly.

"I heard," Lily said softly.

"Many in your house will judge you as many would in Slytherin. There hasn't been a successful relationship between a Slytherin and Gryffindor in over fifty years." Olivia stated, calmly.

Lily said nothing as she stares at Olivia.

"She's also the youngest Seeker in a century, mom," Artemis said.

"That is most impressive. They don't normally allow younger students to play on a team." Olivia said.

The car stops as they look to see they were King's Cross Station.

The driver helped get their stuff out and said goodbye as they drove off.

"Artemis, you can go ahead with Harry," Olivia said quickly as Artemis and Harry walk to the barriers. Unlike last year, when Dobby closed the barrier, Harry was able to walk in barrier and stares at the Hogwarts express. The magical red train was a marvelous sight.

Olivia walks in with Lily shortly, followed by the Weasley family. Ron glares at Harry with a look containing as much hate as he could muster.

"I'll go get a compartment. Thanks for having me over, Olivia." Harry said to Olivia. Olivia smiles at him as she disappears.

Harry and Artemis said nothing as they turn and get in the compartment.

The Weasley's weren't the only ones who wanted to arrive early. With Sirius Black on the loose, many parents were getting their children to Hogwarts as quickly as possible.

Harry quickly looks for a compartment and finds one in the back where someone was already in it.

"Come on," Harry said as he walks in the compartment and sits down.

"I can't stay long. I have to give directions to the other Prefects," Artemis said as she sits down.

To Harry's surprise, someone else came in and sat down.

Lily walks in clearly distraught by something.

"Not spending time with Buck-Teeth and the Git?" Harry said.

Lily gives Harry a hard, cold look.

"No, they soon got into another argument. I'm not spending my entire ride to Hogwarts listening to those two bickers like they're five." Lily said slowly. She turns their sleeping companion. "Who is that?"

"Professor R. J. Lupin," Artemis said, pointing to the suitcase above him.

"What does he teach?" Lily asks.

"The only subject that needs a teacher, Defense Against the Dark Arts," Harry said.

In saying that, Harry pulls out his Book of Shadows and begins to read.

Lily says nothing more as she pulls out her book.

The Book of Shadows was so big and had so much content that it was almost impossible to finish reading it in a year. The spells in their books alone were virtually impossible to learn.

The time passes by, and the train suddenly started moving as Artemis gets up to the Prefect Compartment.

Harry and Lily said nothing as both of them sat in silence reading, just reading their Book of Shadows.

Artemis came back with an annoying look on her face.

"I hate Percy Weasley." She said as she sits down.

"What happened?" Harry asked.

"He verbally attacked the Prefects to do their jobs and told them if they had a problem, they should go to him. I merely stated the Prefects had to keep an eye out for trouble and handle it to the best of their ability, and if they had trouble and we couldn't be reached, they should inform a Professor. Percy didn't like that and started shouting at me." Artemis said.

"Is he going to be terrible all year?" Harry said.

"I'm going to give his brother detention. By the way, our problem, I could…"

"Just do what you can," Harry said, cutting Artemis off as he did not want Lily to figure out what they were up to. Even though she had separated herself from Ron and Hermione, it still didn't mean that it was safe to tell.

The train slowly slows down before it completely stops.

"What's going on?" Lily asks.

"We can't be there. We still got miles to go." Artemis said.

The air suddenly became cold. The lights on the Hogwarts Express vanished.

For Harry, this was unusual. Ever since his Awakening, he has never been cold; this wasn't a typical cold. He could feel himself become weak and drained.

The door slides open, and a hooded creature was floating in front of them.

That is when Harry felt his strength disappear.

Harry slips into the darkness. Just as he lost consciousness, he heard the sound of a woman screaming.
