a/n: This is an extra/bonus chapter focusing on the vampire worlds reaction to the end of Kaname and Aiyora's engagement and couple more scenes to show how Kaname and Aiyora is coping.

Extra chapter

The situation was same for every vampire household that evening. Be it the Purebloods that were around, the nobles and normal families and the Night class members of Cross Academy. Everyone was seated before the television-set, watching president of the Vampire council make his official statement regarding breakdown of one of the most anticipated engagement of this era.

"Good evening to all my fellow creatures of the darkness..."

The president of council spoke solemnly, making direct eye contact with the camera. Making it look like he was personally reaching out to everyone.

"It is with heavy heart and immense sadness I breakdown the news before everyone, that due to irreconcilable differences Kuran Kaname and Kuran Aiyora have jointly decided to end their years long betrothal."

The announcement which would soon throw the whole vampire world into quite the frenzy was finally made.

"All formalities have been carried out peacefully with no hostility involved from either party. Going forward they will only remain as siblings."

It was to avoid all sorts of confusion, conclusions and baseless assumptions the Vampire Council decided to live telecast the announcement for all vampires. So that the news reaches all household at the same time and no one is given the chance to sugarcoat the story according according to their own taste.

Ichio continued,

"Even though Kuran Kaname made no comment on the matter, but Kuran Aiyora shared few words with everyone..."

The senator paused to take out the letter from the envelope. Then clearing his throat read it out loud.

"Relationship and bond are very sacred to me. They hold a special place in my heart. And the relationship I shared with Kaname onii-sama was above everything else. To me Kuran Kaname, my older brother comes before all. He was not just a fiancé to me or a big brother. He is someone whom I look up to and aspire to be in the future.

It is very unfortunate that we could not stay together as we were expected to. Our plan clashed with the plan fate had in store for us.

While it is true that we parted ways as couples but our bond as Kuran still remains strong as ever and shall stay that way forever.

Personally I would like to request all my fellow vampires, not to not speculate why our relationship ended. Please respect our privacy and let that stay between us. What I would like to ask from you all is give us your blessing on our new beginning, so that going forward the journey is smooth for both of us.

Thank you all for your understanding.

Sincerely

Kuran Aiyora."

"That would be all, thank you everyone. Have a good night."

With that conclusion, Ichio ended the live telecast.

The Moon Dormitory:

Everyone gathered into the common room, located on the third floor to watch the live telecast, including Seiran. The ones who remained absent were the two purebloods and surprisingly Senri. Many may not have paid attention but some were noticing the Shiki heir's absence from everything since the purebloods separated.

Sound of sighs tore through the pin-drop silence which had engulfed the room since live telecast begun.

"This whole thing seems fabricated." One person from the crowd finally voiced out his opinion.

"Yeah you're right. Remember how passionately they kissed at the vice president's birthday party." Another joined him. This person is a member of Aiyora's girl-gang.

"Do you think something happened afterwards?" It was a curly haired vampire that asked.

"Hey! What are you initiating?" Hanabusa charged at the person who just asked that.

"Aidou-san we're all adults here so please drop the innocent act. After a kiss like that you don't just go into a room to talk."

"Speaking of the kiss— to me it felt a bit forceful. Kaname-sama was practically eating her face."

"I agree, the kiss was very forceful. To me it actually looked like Kaname-sama was drinking down her lips."

"Hey!" Ruka snapped.

"Watch what you're saying! She was Kaname-sama's fiancée back then. He had all the rights to kiss her." Hanabusa back her up.

"Hanabusa! Ruka! Cut it please." Like always Akatsuki had to get involved. But tonight he didn't have to say much. Others were occupied with their own train of thoughts to pay attention to Ruka and Hanabusa's rant.

"But isn't Aiyora-sama a little too young to be doing such things." A timid looking girl commented shyly.

"Since when is age a big factor for our race." The boy beside her spoke up. "My mother just reached her puberty when she gave birth to me, whereas my father was at least a few hundred years older."

"My mother was married off to her farther's cousi—"

"That's enough everyone." The vice president's ordered. Sounding uncharacteristically firm.

Seeing how everyone was going ahead of themselves, Takuma removed his usual friendly facade and stood before the night class with stern face. This was no time to be sweet. Enough damage has been. Now it was time to act as the true vice president and stop speculators from producing their colourful theories that would further damage Kaname and Aiyora's reputation.

"Kaname and Aiyora have requested us to respect their privacy. I believe it is best we practice that. Now that the telecast ended, return to your room."

Meanwhile Aiyora and Senri watched the live telecast in the comfort of her room, cuddling on the couch. They have been like that all evening.

"Finally, the obstacle is out of our way." Aiyora mused drawing circles with her finger on the maroon haired boy's chest.

"That was quite the speech you wrote. You should try your luck in politics. You'll do well."

As a response he received a hard smack on the chest.

"Ouch! That hurts."

"Sorry." She immediately placed a soft kiss over the place she slapped only seconds ago and rubbed a hand there.

"I'm happy being a model. Politics is not my place."

"I see..."

Aiyora sensed hesitation in his voice and looked up to examine.

"What's wrong Ri-chan? You sound down."

"It's nothing." He tried to avoid the topic.

"Say it." Unknowingly and unintentionally a bit if her power was used which immediately made him to speak up.

"Um... I was just wondering... what happened?"

"You mean why we decided to end things?"

"Yeah..."

Aiyora had her speech well rehearsed for some time. So delivering it posed no problem at all.

"You see... after we went back to his room Kaname onii-sama confessed his feelings. He told me that he loved me."

"And..." Senri was a bit surprised at how smoothly she was recalling the events of that night.

"I opened my heart out to him. Told him everything candidly... everything about us. Surprisingly he turned out to be very understanding and respectful of my feelings."

Senri's brows squeezed together. Her words did not add up. Kuran Kaname developed an unhealthy obsession with Aiyora. There's no way a person who harbours that level of obsession would be understanding and respectful of other's true feelings.

"After a bit of talking and me shedding some tears we jointly decided to end our engagement peacefully. Then we bid each other good night and I returned to my room."

Instantly the small smile on the Shiki heir's face changed to a frown. Since midway into speaking Aiyora faced the television, she missed the change of his moment she said she returned to her room Senri's suspicions turned to confirmation. Now he was sure that she was lying.

And how did he know?

Because he was in her room, waiting for her till sunrise. But... she never came.

At this point he had valid reasons to feel concerned. If Aiyora can so smoothly lie about returning to her room then who knows what else was she lying about? Could it be... everything?

Kaname didn't actually watch the live telecast. However the television in his room was on and it kept playing in the background.

To say he was pleased with Ichio would be an understatement. The latter did a great job of playing it safe. The message have been successfully conveyed and done so in such a fashion that the audience will never be able to guess the nastiness that took place behind the scene in order to get.

The situation they were in, one of their image was bound to be tainted forever. However keeping himself neutral all throughout the process Ichio actually saved the Kuran families reputation.

He longingly gazed at Aiyora's picture, featured on a the cover of the top fashion magazine. Dressed in a fitted red body-suit with mirror-work all over it. Her makeup was kept minimal— a matte red lipstick on the lips and few coats of mascara on those long voluminous lashes. And hair was left undone to naturally float against the wind.

She looked insanely beautiful and so innocent.

His nimble finger grazed over her picture. The very realization that is no more his, made his heart throb in agonizing pain. He desperately wanted to believe it was just a nightmare, one fine afternoon he will simply wakeup and everything will go back to the way it was.

Till now a part of Kaname refused to believe what she has done. His heart couldn't contemplate why she was so adamant on throwing him out of her life. Was he that unloveable? Does he not deserve a chance to at least show her how he truly loves desires her? Are his feelings of no worth?

The Kurenai mansion:

Shizuka in Maria's body watched the telecast. Once it ended the masked person standing behind her proceeded to turn off the television and unplug it from the socket.

"With all these ruckus going on, do you honestly believe it's a good idea to go to Cross Academy now, Shizuka-sama?"

"Of course it is Ichiru. In fact it is the perfect timing. Everyone would be so busy obsessing about Kuran Kaname and Kuran Aiyora that no one would have the time look for me or see through my disguise."

At the Shiki residence:

Rido watched the telecast with Midori. As he was still in the child's body, he watched the whole event sitting on his former mistress's lap. Creating the innocent image of a child sitting on his mother's lap.

"My oh my! Aiyora is growing up so fast. I can't to taste my delicious little flower."

"That sounds wrong on every level." Midori pointed out.

"How about fruit...? My delicious little fruit."

"Makes no difference. Still sounds wrong." The woman was getting irritated. His nonsense blabbering was too much for her mind at this point to bear.

"Oh Midori you're just jealous."

"Sympathetic actually. As I can't seem to wrap my head around how a father is able to feel such nasty feelings towards his own daughter."

"Haven't you seen my Aiyora... tell me which male in their right mind would want to be her father. Even the fake heir, that old soul from different era is running after her like a rabid dog."

"It doesn't matter who is running after her. Aiyora-sama has already given her heart, to Senri."

"Who is this Senri?!" Rido wiggled his brows.

"Your only son! OUR SON!" The former actress hissed like she was spitting venom. The expression on her face changed to that of a mad woman.

But that didn't seem to bother Rido.

"Oh that pest. Don't worry about it then, soon he'll become a distant memory... I'll make sure of it."

The Ori estate:

The long haired male stood before the mirror with a face full of boredom as he buttoned up his shirt. The beautiful woman with long wavy blonde hair and violet blue eyes, who was quietly laying down on the bed all these time, sat up holding the silk sheets against her chest to cover her bare form.

They have also finished watching the live telecast. Prior to that they were making love— no they don't make love, they simply have sex to sate each others body's need. Although the pair is engaged to be married, sadly no love exists between them. Both, the head of the Ori family and heiress of the Shirabuki family are in this arrangement of engagement to benefit their respective families. Sometimes Sara tries to gain his attention, considering he is all that she has left on this world after her parents committed suicide. However the older male only brushes away all such efforts. In his eyes his young fiancée is a child who barely understands this world. Thus to him, she is rarely valuable.

"It appears that the person you often think about while laying with me is finally free. Perhaps you should try your luck, Sara."

The man advised his fiancée with absolutely no amount of emotions in his voice.

Sara scanned her fiancé with disdain before she spoke in her signature soft voice. "Honestly speaking I am not that interested in Kaname."

She watched him put on the long overcoat. It was obvious he was going to leave, like always he would take off after his gain was achieved. Sara took a deep breath to calm her rising temper.

"However I will not shy away from admitting that Kaname is very handsome and I would not mind climbing into his bed occasionally. But in reality what interests me more in his position. He is the heir to the royal family. If by any chance the council ever falls the whole power will go back into his hand. He will become the leader of our race. Which is why I prefer to have some form of connection with him."

"I see..." your greed seems to have increased with time.

That part remained unspoken.

"I certainly hope it would not impose a problem between us Ori-san." In her own way Sara was seeking his approval.

"No, it would not." He replied back with a sigh. Because I cannot bring myself to care about what you do Sara.

"Ori-san...? What is your opinion on this Kuran Aiyora?" Sara tried to prolong the conversation. A part of her wanted him to stay back and keep her company. Like every woman this female pureblood also wanted her fiancé's undivided attention. But fate was cruel, this man with whom she was engaged to lost his interest in this long life and everything that comes with it... which also includes her.

"Do you not have any opinion on her Ori-san?"

His silence was his response.

"Well you may not have an opinion on her, but I do. I pity that girl! Flaunting herself before the world so shamelessly to seek attention. How desperate. ...Would you at least not agree with me ...Ori-san?"

As a last resort Sara dropped the sheet that was covering her bare form. She truly wanted him to stay, as she did not want to be alone this evening. However all her hopes got crushed under the feet when he simply left the room, after casting a pitiful glance at her.

The Hanadagi Mansion:

"What a foolish girl, couldn't even hold onto the fine gentleman the council chose for her. How unfortunate. Then again what more could be expected from the girl that was birthed by someone like our little Layla." Commented a husk yet feminine voice, which belonged to the wife of the eldest brother Hanadagi Naoki, the current patriarch of the family.

"Weirdly she looks nothing like Reira." Said the second brother, Hanadagi Hiroyuki.

"I think she somewhat resembles Maya onee-san." It was pointed out by the third brother, Hanadagi Takero, who then looked at his eldest brother Naoki and further teased. "Wouldn't you agree Onii-sama? Too bad Maya nee-san is no longer amongst us. I truly do miss her."

The mentioned male tensed. This was a voluntary reaction every time their deceased sister was mentioned. Naoki's wife noticed his unease and grabbed his hand to give it a firm squeeze, assuring him her full support.

"Hey Takero, watch your mouth. You're making onii-sama uneasy." The second brother Hiroyuki scolded the younger brother Takero. Only so that he could pass on a backhanded comment, "Remember, we agreed upon a treaty, Maya nee-san is never to be mentioned in front of onii-sama."

The current head of the family ultimately broke his silence, as an attempt to close off the current topic.

"How is the search progressing, have you two found any traces of the two traitors?" By traitors he meant his youngest siblings— brother Takumi and sister Layla.

"Actually I have some disturbing news to share." Hiroyuki informed. "I checked with the main estate, Mari (the loyal maid of the Hanadagi family) informed me that mother has awakened."

"Has father awakened?"

"Not yet. Should he be awakened?"

"No need. Let that monster sleep."

"If mother has already awakened, then where is she?" Naoki's wife asked her husband's younger brother while running her fingers through her husband's long hair.

"Mother has sided with her younger children."

"How awful." The woman muttered in disgust.

"In that case, starting from now she is no longer our mother." The leader of the group declared, like he was waging war.

Toma mansion:

"It's decided then! I will marry Kuran Aiyora."

Declared Toma Shizuku, the patriarch of the Toma family. A young and playful pureblood vampire, who bears a childlike appearance.

"And what makes you think that she'll marry you Shizuku?" Commented his sister who was sitting on the other sofa jamming with her guitar. She's bears the appearance of a rockstar as she plays for a local band.

"Why not? I'm a perfect specimen for male gender." He barked back.

"You have really high expectations little Shizuku."

"DON'T CALL ME LITTLE!"

"Kuran Aiyora is one the best looking one amongst our kind." His sister pointed her finger towards the magazines with Aiyora on the cover that her brother was surfing through.

"On top of that she was engaged to Kuran Kaname. The man all girls including me are ready to die for. And you honestly think that girl will agree to marry you? You must be delusional. Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror? You look like a tragic clown."

Offended by his sister's harsh review the younger pureblood pouted.

"Humph! I don't care how I look. I will marry Kuran Aiyora and that's final." His sister rolled her eyes. After all she never took her brother's word seriously.

"Nakuro come here..." Shizuku called for the butler and immediately an older man in black suit appeared.

"Yes, Toma-sama."

"Arranged for some lovely red roses and send over to Kuran Aiyora in Cross Academy. I have decided to marry her. What do you think?"

The butler shared a brief eye contact with his master's older sister. Before giving the young pureblood the response he was so eagerly waiting for.

"Toma-sama has great taste in woman. I'm sure Kuran Aiyora-sama will make a wonderful wife."

"See even Nakuru thinks Aiyora and I will make a great couple."

Before Shizuku could bask in happiness he heard his rockstar sister snort and scoff in the background. Making him glare daggers in her direction.

The Aidou Mansion:

Audio Nagamachi, his wife and his three daughters watched the telecast together.

Once it ended an expression of delight graced the face of the head of the family.

"The news seem to have made you happy my husband." His wife asked tentatively.

"Indeed you are correct my wife. I am happy for Kaname-sama. A well behaved polite gentleman like him deserves a mate who can set examples of a good homemaker. Unfortunately the way Aiyora-sama is starting to behave, she looks more like a home-wrecker." Said Nagamachi taking a sip of his wine.

"I couldn't agree more father. She's a pureblood from a reputable family, yet she has joined the show business like those cheap woman. What a disgrace." Their eldest daughter added.

"How about we offer Kaname-sama one of daughter? What do you say, husband?"

Namamachi turned to his wife with a smile. He loved the suggestion she just made. "That is actually a great idea. I will make sure to bring it up next time I meet him. Do you have a someone in your mind my wife?"

His wife grinned gleefully, "yes... how about we offer him our little Tsukiko."

"Very well then, it's settled. Tsukiko it is."

Kain Residence:

The situation was pretty grim here. It was no occasion that either Kain Kyosato, the current head of the Kain clan or his beloved wife Kain Yuu could rejoice.

After all Kuran Kaname's betrothal ending would lead to their only son Akatsuki's heart break. His only hope of acquiring Ruka, love of his life has become slimmer than it already was before.

Souen manor:

The situation in this particular household was celebratory, especially for lady Souen and her mother in law. Both of whom have been pushing Ruka from a very tender age to get close to the heir of the Kuran family.

These two ladies have played a massive role in Ruka life when it came to developing her feelings for the pureblood prince. Although her feelings are not returned, but Ruka's mother and grandmother constantly encourage her to not give up.

"Now that Kaname-sama is no longer engaged, do you think our Ruka has a chance?" Lady Souen asked her mother in law, tearing her gaze away from the television set.

"Well it is true that she will not be able to become his wife. That title is only saved for a pureblood since it is expected off him to produce pureblood heirs and continue the Kuran line. However nothing can stop our Ruka from becoming his mistress. And if a child is born from that union then it would further secure her position while also help our family climb a higher status in the society... just like the Shiki family."

"So what would you like me to advise Ruka, mother?"

"Nothing really. Just make sure she understands never to give up on him." The older woman added with a smirk at the end of her lips. "No matter what happens."

Somewhere far far away in a small cottage:

A pair of feet descended down the stairs. The owner of the feet was a fairly young looking male with bright blue eyes, long slender neck, perfectly chiseled jawline and blonde hair that that goes past his shoulder.

"Mother..." He addressed the woman with short wavy hair and bright blue eyes akin to his. Who was elegantly sitting on the sofa, smoking a cigar.

"Come sit with your mother Takumi." The woman commanded and her son obeyed. His mother offered him a cigar, and Takumi accepted that thanking her softly.

"How is Layla?" Referring to her daughter, the older woman asked.

"Better than expected. The news about Aiyora has gotten her very stressed out. She worries that Kuran Rido will one day show up at our doorstep in search of his daughter."

"That's ridiculous! Aiyora lives an open life. Finding her wouldn't be a hard task for a man like Kuran Rido."

"That is exactly what I told her. But you know your daughter, she has the habit of panicking for nothing."

"Too she couldn't be as brave as my Maya." The woman fondly recalled her deceased daughter. Her most favourite child out of the five she delivered.

"Has Ichio's telecast already ended?" Takumi asked his mother. Both were looking at the television screen, watching a video commercial of Aiyora.

"Yes."

"What was it about that Ichio had to live telecast, was it truly about the rumours that have been making rounds recently."

"It certainly was, the engagement between Kuran Kaname and my granddaughter is officially over."

"Mother! Please refrain from addressing Kuran Aiyora as your granddaughter." Spoke a soft feminine voice from behind which made both heads turn.

"She belongs to the Kuran family and has no ties with me or the Hanadagi clan."

"Only I have the authority to decide Kuran Aiyora's ties to the Hanadagi clan. Neither you nor your brothers can make that decision. Am I understood, Layla?"

The younger female opened her mouth to argue but backed away after noticing the change of expression in her mother's eyes. After all there is no chance for Layla to win against her stubborn mother. So she returned to her chamber, utterly defeated.

"Please don't take offence to her words mother. Reira is very sensitive when it comes to her daughter. As a matter of fact this is the first time in years she even uttered her name."

"Takumi, listen to me very carefully. It would be in both your and Layla's best interest to make that girl an ally. In time she will turn into the greatest asset we could ever own."

"But—"

"Pushing Aiyora out of life would be the biggest and the most foolish mistake. Don't forget who her father is. Kuran Rido was the last king's most favoured child. For him the entire world was on one side and Rido was on other side. ...Why do you think the monarchy was even abolished?"

"The monarchy was abolished because it gave the purebloods, especially the Kuran family too much power."

"No you fool. That was a statement he made publicly. The real story is something different. Rido was already on the verge of losing his sanity because of the intense feelings he developed towards his sister Juuri. It got to a point where he could not think anything beyond her. Nothing mattered to him, not power or throne. Under the circumstances the king was advised by many to make his second son Haruka ascend the throne when the time arrives. But to the Kuran king had no desire to deprive his firstborn of his birthright. So he abolished the monarchy and established the council to distribute the power."

"I never knew that."

"Only a handful of people are aware about it. I doubt even Kuran Haruka and his wife Juuri knew the full truth. Moving back to Aiyora— So imagine the power and influence Kuran Rido has over the old senators that worked under his father. Till to this day, those people are loyal to him. And in the future, that loyalty will be passed down to Aiyora."

"Are you advising me to reach out to Aiyora?"

"Yes, but do so very cautiously. This girl isn't as innocent as appears." Takumi looked at his mother confused, asking for further explanation.

"I was astonished! The statement Aiyora gave in regards to the breakdown of her engagement was eerily similar to the one your father gave... after... after he slaughtered Maya."

Couple Day later...

The situation in the moon-dormitory has been quite contradictory as of lately. The end of engagement had quite the contrasting effect on both parties.

Kuran Kaname: Since the evening of Ichio's visit he hasn't left his room. The last he was seen in public was standing atop the second floor staircase, bidding farewell to the Senator.

Soon after came the announcement, which caused quite the tempest within the moon dormitory— The president will not be attending classes for the next foreseeable days.

Automatically, all responsibilities fell on vice president Ichijou's shoulder. Not just of the night class, the blonde was also having to look after his heartbroken friend. A particular duty that he was only sharing with Seiran.

Naturally Kaname was not coping well. A part of him was unable to come into terms with what has happened. Not only was he accused of something he did not do. He also had to accept the blame so that he could save Aiyora. It was a betrayal that left a very bitter taste in him.

Unbeknownst to all, including Aiyora that Kaname actually hasn't eaten anything since the evening of the incident. Only consuming cases after cases of blood tablet.

Both Seiran and Ichijou have offered Kaname their blood, but the latter only turned them away.

•••

"Where is Kaname?" Takuma asked Seiran in a panicked voice after not finding his friend on his usual spot this evening.

The last few days the pureblood just laid there on the divan like dead body. Today after class when Ichijou came to check on him, he was surprised to find the spot empty.

Naturally panic surged through his heart.

"He's in his room." Seiran told him.

"In his room?" That confused Takuma. "What is he doing in there?"

"He found an old phone inside one of his drawers."

"And...?"

"The device had Aiyora-sama's voice recording."

The pair of green eyes went wide at the information. Even if Takuma could relax seconds ago, now he cannot. Not after learning this piece of information. Seiran may not know the severity of it but Takuma knew all too well.

"I will take it from here. Why don't you go rest up." Takuma wanted Seiran to be gone before he approached Kaname.

The grey haired vampire hesitated at first, but ultimately listened.

It was after Seiran's exit that Takuma finally opened the door to Kaname's bedroom and walked in. To his surprise he found the brunette on the bed, laying flat on his back, a small device held by his right hand.

Takuma recognized the device to be Kaname's old phone, which his grandfather gifted the brunette soon after he moved in to live with them.

"Kaname onii-sama I saw a sweet dream. You know what my dream was... I became your wife. I was so happy but then the maid shook me awake."

The confusion in Takuma's mind cleared. As he finally understood what Kaname was doing with this device.

"Kaname onii-sama, I... Love... You..."

He was listening to Aiyora's old voice messages.

"Kaname onii-sama when will we play chess together again?"

"Kaname onii-sama, I was waiting for your phone. You did not call. Why did you not call?"

"Kaname onii- sama, you don't come, you don't call. Do you not miss me. I miss you... I miss you... I miss you..."

But what good are they now?

"Kaname onii-sama, I'm scared to sleep by myself in this house. People here look at me like I'm food. I'm scared, I'm always scared. I don't want to live here anymore. I want to live with you onii-sama. Take me with you... please."

They've changed...

"I NEED YOU! I NEED YOU! I NEED YOU! Kaname onii-sama please take me away from here. I'm scared. A mad woman lives here, she screams all day and night... I'm scared onii-sama."

...both of them have changed.

"YOU LIAR! You promised to come see me on my birthday... you did not even say sorry. I hate you!

Kaname is no longer so cruel, nor is Aiyora anymore so pure and innocent.

"Kaname onii-sama did you forget me? Don't worry... one day I will forget you too."

"That's enough Kaname! You've heard enough. Now please put it down." Ichijou pleaded his friend to put the device down. Listening to the past would not help in any shape or form. If anything it was doing further damage to him at the moment.

"Kaname will you please lis—"

"Where is Aiyora?"

Takuma wanted to roll his eyes. Seriously! Here him and Seiran are giving their blood-sweat to bring him back to track and all Kaname could think about is the person who is responsible for his current pathetic state. However, Ichijou knew better it would be useless to lecture him now.

"She's with her friends." The blonde sat down at the edge of the bed and tactfully seized the device off of the pureblood's hand and turned it off.

"Keep an eye on her Ichijou, make sure she does not skip her meal. Aiyora tends to easily lose her appeti—"

"Kaname, please don't stress yourself too much with her. Trust me Aiyora chan's doing fine. As a matter of fact she's doing more than fine."

"...I'm glad." the brunette let out a sigh. A sigh that conveyed those unspoken words which came all the way up to his throat, to express the hurt and anguish he has been feeling inside. But sadly was not voiced out.

"Kaname..."

"Hmmm..."

"Yuuki-chan, was inquiring about you."

"...Oh." His reaction surprised Takuma. Never did he imagine that one day Kaname would have such a bland reaction to Yuuki's name.

"She looked quite worried. Perhaps she has been thinking about you lately."

"I see..."

Again the pureblood reacted in such a way that it showed he truly has no interest or whatsoever. But who said Ichijou Takuma was anywhere close to giving up? He will do whatever it takes to pull his friend through this misery.

"The ball is coming up. Why don't you ask Yuuki-chan to go to the ball with you. Maybe it will help you rekindle your lost connection with her." He added suggestively.

Kaname said nothing, but gave no bland response like the first couple of times. Maybe it was a good sign. To Takuma this silence was a form of encouragement. Although he knew pushing Kaname towards Yuuki right now may not be the best idea, however it would be in everyone's best interest if Kaname is able to push past his lust for Aiyora and focus back on Yuuki. That way everyone can retain their share of happiness.

On the other hand...

Kuran Aiyora: While her former fiancé has been spending all his time sulking in his suite, she was busy celebrating her new found independence.

Post the accursed engagement everything has been simply great. Aiyora has been spending all of her time in her Ri-chan's company. And when he wasn't around she would be surrounded by her girl-gang that constantly kept on pampering her.

Ichijou quietly observed the group of girls from the upper floor. He hasn't spoken to Aiyora ever since their private conversation. Till now he was having hard time stomaching the information he acquired. As a result being in her presence made him feel uneasy. He highly doubts that will ever change.

Back to Aiyora and her friends:

"I heard Souen-san offered herself to Kaname-sama but he rejected." Spoke the light brown haired girl.

"No she only offered him her blood." The curly haired girl corrected the one that just spoke.

"No you idiot she offered him both, but he turned her down."

"How pitiful! But if Souen-san is turned down, what chance do you we have?"

"Actually, none of you do.." Aiyora, who was a seated at the centre, drying her nail polish crushed all hopes that was building up amongst that group. "None of you are his type. Neither is Souen-senpai."

"Aiyora-chan are you suggesting that only the headmaster's daughter is his type?"

"No, she's not his type either."

"Then what is Kaname-sama's type."

"Here's the thing— Kaname onii-sama walks around with an atmosphere which suggests he likes bright sunshine like Cross Yuuki. When in reality behind closed doors he actually prefers the darkness of a slutty-dominatrix type of girl. If any of you are like that, then go ahead, you'll succeed—"

"Aiyora-sama..." a maid approached them holding a big bouquet of roses. "This arrived for you just now."

"Another one?" The pureblood was surprised. This was the second one today, she already received one earlier in the afternoon. Recently Aiyora got herself a secret admirer, who has been sending her large bouquet of roses on a daily basis.

"Is there any card or massage stating who is sending these?"

"Unfortunately there is no such information." The maid lowered her head in shame.

"Alright, just take it to my room."

Once the maid left her friends begun to gush about how romantic this was and who could it be. But Aiyora kept her composure. She knew these weren't from Senri, so she couldn't be bothered.

Seiran quietly appeared behind Ichijou.

"Those flowers are coming from the Toma residence."

Takuma snapped his head at her direction. "Toma... as in the pureblood Toma family?"

Seiran assured him with a nod of her head.

The blonde felt his throat go dry. "Why are they sending Aiyora-chan flowers?"

"That I'm yet to find out."

A silence fell between the two. During which they wordlessly watch Aiyora and her girlfriend pose together and have a maid click a photo in one of their phone.

"Um... have you informed Kaname about it." The silence broke once Takuma spoke.

"Not yet..."

"Perhaps it's best we hold off this information from him for sometime. It'll only add to his stress."

Seiran never in favours of the idea of hiding anything from her master. But regarding this matter and given her master's current situation, she couldn't agree more.

Few More Days Later...

Everyone was waiting at the foyer. Which Aiyora couldn't understand why? As per her calculation everyone was already there. So why weren't they heading out...? Who were they waiting for?

"It's already past the normal time for switchover, shouldn't we be on our way already?" Aiyora asked Takuma, after a quick glance at her watch.

"I'm just waiting for—"

"Sorry to keep you all waiting. Let's go."

The blonde vice president got cut off mid sentence when a smooth voice intervened.

It was a voice they haven't heard in the last couple of weeks. Right away the faces of Ruka and Aidou's brightened. Similarly Aiyora froze. She need not look back to see who was coming down the stairs.

"Kaname-sama!" Aiyora looked at Ruka as the latter basked in happiness.

"Welcome back Kaname-sama." Aidou greeted. His face expressing similar kind of joy.

According to Aiyora both the aristocrats looked like they were able to hit an orgasm. Before she could further judge them, her minions standing behind her and Senri started to whisper amongst themselves.

"Is it me or Kaname-sama looks more handsome than before."

"You're right Sayomi-san! He has become more good looking in these past couple weeks."

Aiyora snapped her head back and shot the two girls a look. Immediately the two quieted down. However they could not stop themselves from fawning as Kuran Kaname walked past them.

While passing Aiyora, Kaname cast her a size eyed glance. He noticed she was holding hands with Senri. Something akin to a stabbing pain surged through his heart. But his face remained impassive while his mind successfully pretended it saw nothing.

The wooden gate opened, revealing the night class. Today the group was led by none other than the night class president himself, who made a surprising appearance after two weeks of straight absence.

The fangirls screamed, louder than what they have done in the last two weeks. In their battle to get a closer look of Kuran Kaname, some of them knocked over Cross Yuuki who was desperately trying to hold them back.

Luckily, Kaname caught her before she could hit the ground.

"Be careful Yuuki. Don't take these duties of yours so seriously and get hurt." He told her in a tender voice, while caressing a side of her face.

"Um... I... yes of course." Yuuki managed to stutter out a response. Despite the deeply blushing face and unbearably racing heart-rate.

Takuma who just witnessed the two from nearest distance sighed in content.

Finally Kaname has found his way back to the right track.

a/n: That was a quick little update hope everyone enjoyed. If there is any confusion or question in your mind feel free to ask.

Let me clear up certain things—

The child looking Toma Shizuku who wants to now marry Aiyora is basically the pureblood that attacked Yuuki in the manga on the 59th night. He has an unnamed sister who plays for a band (that's what i remember from the manga correct me if I am wrong). Don't worry no romance is happening between them. if you guys know Aiyora, you can already guess what coming that guys way.

There was a little glimpse of Sara and her fiancé's life.

Then the reactions of the aristocrat family to Kaname being available.

There was Rido and Midori moment too, but in a strange way, where he was sitting down on her lap.

A little focus was put into the Hanadagi family, as you can see they are now divided into two groups. The matriach who basically makes appearance at Shoto Isaya's soiree has woken up from her slumber, her husband is still sleeping. Aiyora's mother is alive and doesn't want to keep any connection with her.

Then little bit about Rido's connection with his father is mentioned. Alongside his influence in the senate. (Its it's mentioned in the anime that Rido had good connection with the senate unlike Haruka).

I'm aware that in fleeting Dreams novel it is shown that Rido killed his parents. How it reached that point will hopefully be explained in few extra chapters.

Next chapter we go back to the main plot/my version of anime timeline.
