Chapter 41
"...However, if you're interested there is a way to save him. In exchange I want you to do something, that only you can accomplish. ...So tell me are you interested?"
With Maria's words constantly playing in her mind like some form of recording, it was getting harder and harder for Yuuki to focus on anything.
Tonight she was by herself patrolling the grounds. Zero didn't show up. But that's fine, there was barely anyone out. The ball is tomorrow. So all girls are busy preparing for it.
.
.
.
Once her duty finished, Yuuki took a trip to the boys dorm. All day she has been aching to see the silverette... to see if he was alright.
For the longest time she stood outside his door before finally knocking. But when no response was made, she felt courageous enough to go in and check.
The knob was twisted and slowly the door was pushed open. Yuuki was greeted by the empty room, with no clue of Zero's whereabouts.
Carefully she stepped in and roamed a little before finally facing the sink where her eyes noted a case of blood-tablets. As the realization settled in, a dull ache erupted in Yuuki's heart...
This is the room where Zero suffers all by himself.
Automatically a hand reaches up to her neck.
Now... I have a chance to save him. But in order to do that, I must...
Suddenly she had a flashback of Aiyora's memory. The particular one where she assured Yuuki how she preferred the latter as her brother's mate.
"If my brother is to indeed pick a human mate, I would not have any other but you."
Immediately guilt surged into her heart. The fact that she allowed the thought to cross her mind, the fact that even tried to consider such options...
Never has Yuuki felt so low about herself.
How could I think of something like that?
Next afternoon in the moon dormitory:
"What do you think?!"
Takuma asked with great enthusiasm as he proudly showed off the pinkish white, ruffled, high-low dress to the younger Kuran. Which was basically the purchase he made from a nearby boutique this morning.
The girl in question was in the middle of a spa session. Currently laying down with mask on her face and cucumbers covering her eyelids, while one maid was polishing her toe nails and another one was massaging beauty oil onto her hair.
Admittedly irritated, the pureblood removed the round cucumber slice from one eye to have a look at what was being shown.
"Is this dress for Yuuki-sempai to wear to the ball...?"
Aiyora put the cucumber back on her eyelid. She didn't have to look at the dress twice and torture herself. One time was more than enough! Goodness gracious— the amount of ruffle it has all around sleeve, shoulder, sides everywhere. It will make the person wearing look like walking-talking candy floss!
"Good guess!" Takuma said sheepishly and proceeded to ask. "But tell me how did you figure it was for Yuuki-chan?"
"Because no one in their right mind would dare buy me a dress as ugly as that. I would not only rip the dress apart, but also disfigure the person who gave it to me."
"You don't like it!" The blonde gasped.
"Actually it reminds of Cinderella's dress. Not the one by fairy godmother. The first one made by those mouses and birds. And with a heavy heart I believe, this particular dress deserves same ending as it's predecessor."
"Don't be such a harsh critic Aiyora-chan." Takuma's lips formed an adorable pout. "Kaname didn't give me enough money to buy something too fancy. So I decided to get something simple and cute. Which would very much suit Yuuki-chan's personality."
"Regardless of what you say, the only thing this dress will do is make her look like those pathetic damsel in distress female leads..." all of a sudden the young Kuran started to realize how accurate her depiction was "...which she kind of is... so kudos to great buying!" And gave him a thumbs-up as credit of appreciation.
Even though Aiyora couldn't see, but felt his face fall. A part of her felt bad for criticizing his purchase on such low level. Nonetheless it doesn't change the fact that the dress is few seasons old and it's not of great style. More importantly Aiyora was a little upset that instead of consulting with her, Takuma went ahead and bought whatever he liked.
"Besides why are you showing it to me? I'm not the one taking her to the ball, nor did I pay for the dress."
"Kaname's asleep. So I thought of showing it to you before I pack it up and send it over. Also... I was hoping you could help me with the note, as you and Kaname have similar pattern of handwriting."
"Takuma-nii as you can see, I'm not in a very mobile at the moment. Even so I can dictate if that's okay with you."
"Absolutely." Takuma rushed towards the study table to grab pen and paper.
Meanwhile at the ballroom, a bunch of day class students were working on the setup and preparation.
A group of few girls on the main floor started to chatter amongst themselves while unboxing the flowers. A little distance away from them was Cross Yuuki, she was sitting by herself. The task assigned to her was to get the fabric out. But she just sitting there in absent mind.
"What happens if we break curfew tonight?" One of the girls in the group asked in a timid voice.
"Didn't you know during the ball, curfews are pretty much lifted."
"Let's finish our work fast so that we can start practice dancing." Another encouraged.
"After all, it would be our chance to get close to the night class, let alone dance with them."
"I hope I get to dance with Aidou-senpai."
"I want Ichijou-senpai!"
"YOU THERE! Stop chattering and get to work right now!" The day class president Kageyama Kasumi intervened the group before turning towards his main target. "And you Yuuki! Would you stop sitting around in daze! I don't know what's wrong with you. In the first place, it's your fault that our class has to work the ball. From what I heard when you turned in your answer sheet, all that you wrote there was your name. Listen carefully, IF I CAN'T DANCE WITH RUKA ITS ALL YOUR FAULT!"
The class president was nowhere nearly done venting but had to abruptly stop when the main door suddenly opened and very distressed looking injured Zero walked in.
Ignoring all curious stares and whispers such as "What happened to him, is that blood?" "Did he get into a fight?" The silver-haired boy headed straight to the store room.
As if on queue Yuuki followed.
"Have you seen that transfer student anywhere?" Zero asked the moment he sensed her step in.
But ignoring his question, she did her own inquiry while closing the door behind her. "Hey you're bleeding, what happened?"
"It's nothing. I'm alright now."
"You don't look alright to me Zero." She took careful steps towards him. "You should just do what you need to do..." she turned around and removed hair from the nape of her neck.
"Right here..." she ushered him. "...Go on, go ahead!"
He hated her tone. It sounded like she was trying to help out a stray dog and it only added to his self loathing and made him feel more disgusted with himself.
"But don't spill too much okay."
His eyes glowed crimson and in the next second Yuuki found herself slammed against the door with his fangs already buried into her neck.
Zero isn't hesitating like last time. He's that desperate.
Her eyes narrowed down in sadness. She could not hold herself back from asking.
"Zero, what does my blood... taste like?"
Even in the state of immense hunger the hunter tensed. As he could read why she asked that question.
He pulled his fangs away and forcefully turned her around.
"Why do you ask?" Not being able to control his thirst, he bit her again.
Because... because... someday I would like to help Kaname-senpai too... the way I help you.
Those words came all the way up to her lips but couldn't escape them. Yuuki closed her eyes and tried to focus her mind elsewhere but Maria's words rang into her head once again.
"...it will only be possible if Kuran Aiyora is dead!"
Later in the evening:
She was ready. Fully dressed in her uniform and all set to head to the ball and fulfill her duty as the disciplinary committee member.
Yuuki looked at herself in the mirror to do a final check on her appearance. Everything looked as usual except for the...
A hand reached up to her neck that was wrapped with a white gauze in a fashion to make it look like she was wearing a chocker made up of fabric. Although Yuuki didn't know much about fashion. Yet she was aware how odd it looked against her uniform. Then again there's no way she can not have her neck uncovered. Zero's bite marks from earlier today is still visible. It wouldn't be wise for the vampires to see that... especially...
Kaname has asked her to attend the ball with him. There's no way she can let him see those bite marks.
The brunette hung her head low and let out a tired sigh.
"Yuuki are you ready?" The door opened and Yori walked in holding a lilac box decorated with ribbon.
"What! You're wearing your uniform to the ball!" She was shocked. "You know even the staff are allowed take turn dancing."
"Yes, but the headmaster has reminded me about my duties. He has asked me to be extra sharp tonight." Yuuki found it easier to blame her adoptive father than to admit to her friend that she didn't have a dress to wear to the occasion.
"What a mean father! He doesn't want you to have fun...?"
"He's not mean." The brunette vigorously shook her hands and head as she jumped in to defend him.
"Here... this is for you Yuuki." Yori handed her friend the parcel.
"Who is it from?"
Before Yori could answer Yuuki noticed the note attached. She took it out, opened and then gasped.
"It says it's from Kaname!"
"Let's see what's inside."
After opening the box Yuuki found herself speechless. She couldn't believe Kaname was so kind enough to get her a dress. She took out the dress from the box and held it against her body in front of mirror.
In the moment her love and adoration for the pureblood doubled. How could she not love Kaname...? When he clearly cared so much for her. No girl is capable of not loving a person as kind him.
The stoic model forgot how to breathe when his eyes fell upon the person descending down the stairs. The girl was star. A ball of fire as others might say. It was no surprise that her sight blinded everyone present there. And Shiki Senri was no different in that moment.
The dress she wore isn't something one would wear to school ball. It's more appropriate for a red carpet gala. Then again, it was Aiyora, the person who prefers to be over dressed than be underdressed at any given time.
Her dress consisted a set of black floor length high waisted skirt and fitted cropped top with black sequins and stonework all over it.
The top portion was made up of silk. A fitted crewneck with full-sleeve which had a small droplet shape opening at the centre of the chest. If Aiyora was big breasted, it was would have been a sight to be seen. Since she was flat, all that displayed through the hole was her chest bone. On the contrary the skirt was made with net fabric. It was lined only until the curve of her rear. Afterwards it was the sequins and stone which held onto the depth. However after passing her mid-thigh the fabric got sheerer with lesser volume of work all the way down. Oh there was a big thigh-high slit on the left side, leaving her left leg out on display.
(Also a good four inch gap between the top and the bottom which left her pale small waist on display.)
Her waist length hair was parted in the middle, flatly ironed and combed down to give it the sleek look. Makeup consisted of fresh face with a dust of peachy blush on the apples of her cheeks. Nicely defined brows, light mauve-nude lips and rest of the focus was put onto her eyes. Which was dusted with natural shadow, then lined and smudged with dark liner. Lashes coated with mascara. And to further enhance the look she put a set of falsies on the top lash-line.
For accessories it was kept to an absolute minimal. Strapped-heels with work of crystal all over and a pair of diamond earrings adorning the ears, which came with the set Kaname gifted her earlier.
"How do I look?" She asked closing the gap between herself and her date.
"Like an expensive sugar baby." Senri responded offering his arm. "Although I'm surprised you didn't wear the necklace."
Aiyora made a face as she linked her arm with him.
"For someone working in the fashion industry, you should know that wearing everything at once can make you a disaster. Just because I like to look extra doesn't mean I wish to walk around like looking like special occasion decor."
.
.
.
They arrived at the ball hand in hand. At the entrance the pair was greeted by miserable looking Zero. Who was glaring at them for no apparent reason.
"Good evening Mr. disciplinary committee! What are you doing at the entrance, guarding? Or hunting a date perhaps."
Aiyora wasn't planning on talking to him. But when she felt his stare on her from miles away, she had a change of mind.
"None of your business!" He hissed like usual.
"Oh come on... don't be so rude. It's the night of the ball. The night class and day class are supposed to mingle tonight. We should probably do the same."
She unhooked her arms from Senri and took a bold step towards silver-haired male.
"If you don't find a date, don't worry I can set you up with one of my friend. Trust me they're the next best thing after me."
"Get this through your thick head, the last thing I wanna do is dance with a bloodsucking hooker like you."
That comment made the pureblood's eyes go wide. Whereas her aristocrat companion simply rolled his ones. Seriously... he wondered what came into Aiyora's mind that suddenly she decided to engage in this meaningless argument with someone so irrelevant.
"FYI I'm the type of hooker you'll never be able to afford even if you manage to climb your way up to the top position of hunter's association. So when you call me something like that make sure you do it with respect." Aiyora spat before returning to Senri's side and linking their arms again.
.
.
.
Finally it was just the two of them waltzing to the rhythm of the music.
Although Aiyora only wanted to dance with her Ri-chan but plans altered when Takuma charged forward and snatched her from Senri the moment she stepped into the hall. The green eyed blonde even pulled her for a group dance with the day class students. Then couple of day class boys approached her, and as it was a happy occasion Aiyora didn't want to make anyone unhappy, so she complied.
Finally after all those episodes ended she found herself exactly where needed to be...
Confined in the comfort of Senri's arms, Aiyora felt the jealous stares of the many day class girls. Surprisingly what stood out to her the most amongst all was the longing gaze of Tooya Rima. For the longest time the pureblood tried to close her eyes and pretend she saw nothing. But when her gaze met Rima's for the second time, she could no longer un-see it.
"Rima is watching..." she didn't want to tell him but couldn't hold back either.
"So...?" Senri quickly detected the discomfort in her tone. Hence why he kept his tone as neutral as possible. More importantly it didn't matter to him if Rima was watching. End of the day she was nothing more than a friend and his partner at work.
"Nothing." Aiyora pulled him in for an embrace and watched Rima from over his shoulder. She was still watching them.
"Have you noticed something strange..."
Senri tightened his hold around her waist protectively and started a conversation to break the silence and divert her mind in the process.
"What?" Aiyora snuggled into him.
"The playboy of our class, Aidou-san is so out of character these days. He's just standing in a corner."
"Why are you surprised. He's been this way since the encounter with the transfer student."
"Speaking of which... she's not here either."
"Maybe she's running late."
"I highly doubt she'll come."
Another silence fell between them. Which was later broken by the pureblood.
"Ri-chan... will you do something for me."
"Depends on what you're asking for."
His statement made Aiyora pull back slightly and pout.
"Excuse me... Shouldn't you be saying something along the lines of 'just say it and I'll do it.' Our president usually delivers that line."
"Yeah... and look where that got him. Besides I'm not desperate like him. He owes you a lot. I don't..."
"How mean!" Aiyora lightly slapped his chest. "Anyway I was just going to ask you to dance with Rima."
Senri raised a brow.
"What's with that expression?"
"Your kindness is quite rare these days. So I'm just taken aback, that's all."
The dark haired girl made a face and stuck out her tongue. The maroon haired boy smiled at the adorable expression. He kissed her forehead and their steps slowly came to a stop. But instead of leaving her side and going towards Rima, Senri did something different.
He tagged her along...
.
.
.
"Where are we going?" Aiyora asked impatiently.
"Someone is waiting for you." Senri answered.
His response made no sense in that moment, which prompted her to shoot him a confused look and ask. "Who?"
"Let's say I promised someone a dance with you."
Aiyora noticed they were heading towards the terrace and the person standing there was none other than...
Oh God!
Kaname turned and smiled at them. Aiyora wasn't so sure what kind of expression was Senri wearing on his face but she sure was wearing the awkward one.
"Good evening." The expression on Kaname's face only added to Aiyora confusion. Because he didn't have the usual smirk or poker face. Just like her, he also looked awkward and confused.
"Has your date arrived yet?" Senri asked the approaching pureblood.
Both purebloods shot the aristocrat 'what's going on?' expression.
"I'm afraid she is running late." Kaname replied after a moment, still not clear what this was all about.
"Oh she definitely is running late." Aiyora joined in.
"Thanks to Takuma-nii, as he assigned the new maid with the delivery and that girl got confused between Cross Yuuki and Miyaka Yuki. But don't worry, it's all good! The correct person received the dress. So yeah... we were just here to tell you that."
"No we aren't!" Senri interjected. Tightening his hold on Aiyora so she doesn't try to escape. Then blurted out. "We're here because you owe him a dance."
"No I don't! Besides his date would be here any moment."
"Ai-chan have some decency. You rejected him and also didn't return the necklace. That is bad manners."
"What's wrong with you?!" Aiyora hissed through gritted teeth.
"Nothing! I'm just teaching you proper curtesy. Which he didn't." He stated bluntly, pointing a finger at Kaname.
"But he doesn't even want to dance with me!"
"Oh really...?"
That was when Aiyora noticed the extended hand, silently asking her.
"Aiyora, would you do me the honour..."
Fuck!
The young Kuran smiled an awkward smile before she uneasily placed her small hand on his large one. The two start to sway to the music that just started playing while Senri on the other hand exited.
They danced in silence for a moment before Kaname broke it.
"Believe me, I played no part in this."
"I do..." she responded chewing her bottom lip. An action which Kaname didn't miss. "Oh by the way... you've disappointed me."
A worried look took over the male pureblood's features. Just when he thought everything was clear she said that.
"Did I do something wrong?"
"Yes... you still haven't commented on my look."
He exhaled in relief. "Actually I couldn't find the appropriate words. So I thought it would be best to keep them inside, rather than saying something that might make you feel uncomfortable."
"What could possibly leave your mouth that would make me uncomfortable? And honestly speaking... your mouth has never been the issue, your hands are!"
It took him a second to note the present tense and immediately he took notice of their position. His eyes went partially wide as he realized where his hand travelled to...
While her hands were resting on his shoulders. One of his was tightly grabbing her by the waist and the other somewhere around her rear.
"I'm sorry. I truly am..." he quickly retreated and rested them on her waistline, appropriately.
"You're such a pervert! And a creep! While being a prude at the same time. Wow what a bizarre combination, you are quite unique. If I ever write your memoirs I'll title it— Kuran Kaname, the prudent pervert."
"Aiyora, I'm so sorry. Really sorry, I was in absent mind. It was an honest mistake. I assure you it will never happen again."
"What if Yuuki-nee would have walked in?"
"If it's a problem for you, it becomes a problem for me. As for the rest I don't owe them any explanation."
His lines were a little complicated for Aiyora to grasp. So she decided to drop the topic before it became more confusing.
"Okay... whatever that means."
"It means—"
"Doesn't matter." She cut him off and went into her own direction. "You still haven't commented on my looks!"
"There's not much to say other than the fact you're a very beautiful girl Aiyora."
"I had my team spend hours behind it and that's your line." She pouted. "I'm disappointed."
"Every time I look at you, something happens to me. It's a feeling so intense that I cannot describe in words. The same happened tonight when I laid my eyes on you, I was blinded and left breathless at the same time."
"Okay now you're writing literature. Seriously! Can't you use simple words like cute, pretty, sexy etc. Or 'nice dress' 'love your hair' 'who did your makeup'. Or some other things. For example Ri-chan said I look like an expensive sugar baby and even the hunter with no sense of style, Kiryu said I look like a hooker! Yes, its a different story that instead of considering it an insult like he meant, I took it as a compliment and insulted him back, stating something like he can never afford a hooker like me."
Despite being absolutely astonished Kaname smiled. True, that he found himself at a loss of words. But with Aiyora it was becoming a norm. This girl never fails to amuse him. Her vocabulary is a breath of fresh air for him. Especially the new words he learns every time she opens her mouth. Even now, words like 'sugar baby' and 'hooker' were unknown to him. He was about to ask what they meant but as she continued and he picked up these are synonyms for 'whores'. Nonetheless how she could feel proud when someone commented such way about her was beyond his capacity to understand. However if that was what she preferred then...
"Alright then... here's what I have to say... Aiyora, you look like a whore." Kaname stated out of the blue keeping the most straight face possible.
Their dance stopped. More like Aiyora stopped it. The smile from her face dropped and was immediately turned to a frown.
"That's very offensive." She stated after processing.
"Forgive me. I did not mean it in that sense. I just thought—"
"Because I'm forward in nature, this is what you think about me."
"No! Not at all." He took her face between his palms. "You misunderstood. I simply wanted to complement you in your terms."
She tore his hands from her face, took a step back and looked the other way in disgust. Kaname tried to reach for her but she slapped his hand away.
A heavy silence fell between them. They remained like that for the longest time until Kaname made another attempt. This time he tried to remove the hair curtaining her face and
"BOOH!" She exclaimed childishly.
Surprised, he took few steps back. And she exploded into a series of laughter.
"You're not upset with me for calling you..."
"No! I was just messing with you. I just didn't think you'd fall." The younger vampire admitted sheepishly making an innocent face. A face that the older vampire couldn't resist.
Kaname eyed her for few seconds before swiftly walking forward and pulling her. Aiyora collided onto his chest with a loud thud. In that crucial moment all she heard was his rapidly increasing heartbeat. And all she could think about was...
He's ruining my perfectly done hair. Damn it!
Meanwhile Yuuki made her appearance. She walked inside with a irritated looking Zero following her trail.
"This looks good. Seems like everything is under control and running smoothly." Yuuki stated looking around. Then turning back she decided to fix up her unruly partner.
"Come on Zero what is this?! A guy should wear his clothes properly. At least for tonight."
She buttoned up his shirt and fixed his tie. Then looked up to see him watching her blankly.
"What now! No argument disciplinary committee member..." her scolding made Zero look the other way like a guilty child trying to avoid mother's scolding.
"Good! And now rose for the pocket." She plucked out the rose that was attached to her ribbon chocker and carefully placed it on his pocket.
"There... you'll look so good if you'd only smile."
She suggested, but he didn't like that suggestion.
"I don't get it, how can you keep on smiling like that?"
"Well, that's because I want you to smile as well Zero. Anyway... I must go meet someone." With that, she left in search of her date.
Leaving him back into the arms of loneliness.
.
.
.
Yuuki searched the entire area but couldn't find Kaname anywhere. In some corner of the second floor she found Akatsuki standing with Ruka. She approached the duo and asked for the pureblood's whereabouts. Akatsuki turned to Ruka and silently asked for her permission.
"He's in the terrace at the moment." Instead of giving him the permission he was seeking, Ruka told Yuuki herself and watched as the brunette rushed to the mentioned direction.
Akatsuki turned to her surprised. He didn't think she would tell Ms. Prefect where the dorm president was.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Ruka snapped.
"I thought you wouldn't appreciate if I told her where he was."
"Well I had a change of heart."
Akatsuki shot her a look, which asked why? But before Ruka could further explain they were interrupted by a day class boy. To be more specific it was the day class president, who expressed his desire to dance with the female.
"Aiyora..."
"Yes...?"
His hold on her become tighter.
"I want you to become the only person who will know everything about me... my life before this... my secrets. To you, I want to become an open book."
"What?!" She tried to pull away to see if he was okay but he didn't let her.
"I am an old soul from a different era who barely understands the norms of today. And I don't want my disability to understand you properly to stand as a barrier between us."
I don't recall hitting his head and tampering with his brain. So how is he blabbering such nonsense?!
"Let's go to the Kuran manor in the coming weekend—"
"Kaname-senpai...?"
It took the embracing pair a second to register that it was a third voice that spoke. A voice which belonged to...
Aiyora quickly pulled out of the aforementioned male's arms and acknowledged the person at the door.
"Good evening Yuuki-sempai! Nice dress."
"It was a present from Kaname sempai. And I've come to thank him for that."
"Good evening Yuuki, I'm happy you wore the dress."
"Umm... yes I wanted to thank you for giving me the dress." In an attempt to hide her disciplinary committee arm band Yuuki hid her arm behind her back and bowed stiffly.
"You two carry on, I'll go check out what's going on in the main ballroom." Aiyora excused herself, leaving Kaname and Yuuki alone.
After Aiyora disappeared Kaname restarted the conversation.
"What's wrong Yuuki? Why the strange look on your face?"
"Huh!" She pressed her hands against her face to check if everything was alright.
"Just a joke! You look lovely. That dress suits you quite nicely." Kaname said the rest approaching her. "Do me the honour of dancing with me in return." He took her by the hand and removed the armband before pulling her in for a waltz.
Back in the ballroom everyone was dancing.
Aiyora was once again back in Senri's arms. Takuma was taking turns with the day class ladies one after another. Even Aidou took a dance or two before he headed outside with Akatsuki.
Only person not dancing currently was Zero. He was leaning against a pillar looking all lonely and grumpy.
Suddenly he was approached by someone. To most days class student's surprise the person approaching him turned out to be the timid Nadeshiko Shindo. Because Aiyora had a thing for dramatic moments, she too joined the crowd and observed as the girl requested Zero for a dance.
"Will you dance with me Zero?"
The crowd started to murmur how brave this Shindo girl was. Amongst them Aiyora and Senri stood dumbfounded, wondering what was so brave about asking someone for a dance.
"After all, you did rescue me once."
Aiyora facepalmed and thought bitterly.
Goodness gracious Yuuki 2.0! Seriously what's with these humans girls harbouring feelings for their saviour.
"Or... or we could talk, if you like, instead of dancing."
"I'm sorry I can't dance and I'm busy. So please excuse me." With that said, Zero turned around and walked the other way.
Not sure about Shindo but his response infuriated Aiyora.
After everyone returned to their business Aiyora walked over to Shindo and her place a hand over her shoulder. And as the girl with the spectacle turned, her mouth parted in shock.
Though the pureblood has no business here but she felt the girl's pain. After all, she has once walked in those shoes. An experience she still hasn't forgotten. Perhaps never will...
Same time in the terrace:
"Kaname why aren't we following the music?"
"Because I wasn't paying attention to it. Let's dance slowly... shall we? Like we did in the old days." He suggested.
"I remember..." Yuuki murmured softly under her breath. At the same time her thought drifted back to the good old times.
Back then I didn't know, if I would ever be able to dance with him again. It was the time when I just learned the waltz. And I could only dance to it slowly...
Eventually she stopped moving and Kaname looked down at her, confused.
"Yuuki... what's wrong?"
"When will you stop treating me like a child?!" She charged.
"That was never my intention."
"Oh really! Then tell me why... the other night when you put me to sleep, you erased all my memories. You took me away from that place... as if you were trying to stop a child from meddling in things."
"That's not it..." he cupped her face and pulled her a little closer. "I don't think of you as a child Yuuki. I only wanted to protect you. And I thought it was the best thing to do—" he abruptly stopped mid-sentence.
Yuuki looked up at the pureblood to see why he suddenly stopped speaking. Then followed his gaze and her vision straightaway landed on the couple passionately kissing against a pillar before the girl pulled the boy into the nearest room and closed the door.
And those two were... Kuran Aiyora and Shiki Senri.
Yuuki snapped her head back at Kaname and focused on his eyes. The only emotion reflected onto those dark burgundy orbs were hurt. He looked like he had been shamefully defeated on the battlefield.
Unfortunately, Yuuki read it all wrong! She believed it be a big brother's concern for his little sister.
"Be grateful I presented you a golden opportunity. It's like killing two birds with one stone— on one hand Zero will not fall into level-E and on the other hand you and the vampire you love so much will forever be united."
Maria's words rang into her head once more, as a reminder. But now Yuuki's mind was finalized.
"I'm so sorry Kaname-senpai..." that was all she could say before running out of there with teary eyes.
I have no idea why she wants Aiyora-chan dead. But my choice is made, I will not snatch his only sister from Kaname-senpai. I cannot be so cruel to him... after everything that he has done for me.
A.N. This was my version of episode 11. Hope you all enjoyed. Below are few points I want to mention. Please have a look might clear up if you have any confusion.
First-So I'm starting to put more scenes involving Yuuki. After all she's one of the main character and will be scene more as we go forward. Also Yuuki didn't figure out Kaname's feelings. She thought a brother was concerned for his sister. But in her defence how is Yuuki supposed to know pureblood custom.
Second- not sure whether you guys have noticed, but I'll point out regardless. Yuuki and Aiyora are slowly losing their closeness. Aiyora doesn't hate Yuuki but at the same time doesn't agree with most of her beliefs.
And one of the main reason for that would be their ideology. Yuuki strongly believes in the system of night (hence why she reopens)
Aiyora on the other hand thinks the idea of night class is useless (as she cracked the puzzle and figured out why Kaname assembled these aristocrats in the first place). However she may not fully agree with the idea behind night class but that doesn't mean she doesn't believe in coexistence. However her weakness is girls in need (doesn't matter the race). Take Maria and Shindo for example.
Maria is being used by Shizuka (reminds her of Juuri trying to use her)
Then Shindo getting dumped by Zero at the ball when she asked him to dance. (This situation reminded her of time when Kaname shunned her away.)
Third- sorry Yuuki fans. I'm not trying to make her look dumb but unfortunately she is naive and not the sharpest pencil in the box. Plus here the situation has taken a different turn. She's not getting Kaname's full attention like in canon. So her thought process is slightly different. But if you guys think I'm making mistakes. Feel free to let me know where to make changes.
Enough for today. Thank you all.
