Chapter 43

Aiyora woke up to find herself in an unfamiliar surrounding. Once her consciousness fully kicked in, she understood she was in Kaname's bedroom with the owner of the room by her side sitting on a chair.

"Good afternoon..." he greeted, warmly. "You look fresh. I suppose you had good rest."

She cast a quick glance down feeling softer fabric on herself and found out she was on one of her two piece pyjamas set. Her brows squeezed in confusion. She couldn't recall changing out of her outfit. So...?

"Oh I asked Seiran to clean you up and change you in something comfortable."

She said nothing in response. But her skin crawled at his calm voice. He was speaking like it was a regular day and he just didn't murder a pureblood, a person and most importantly a woman on top of that.

"Senri also spent the night here. He left to take a shower and freshen up just a while ago."

Still no response came from her. Other than the fact her face had a deep frown and look which was a mixture fear and anger.

Which prompted Kaname to drag their conversation solely.

"It's a nice day outside." He said looking out of the window. "The sun is bright, but bearable. Not too harsh. Care to go for a walk...? ...Perhaps we could go check out the cafe you mentioned to your friend."

Aiyora slightly shifted on the bed and looked the other way, facing away from him. There was a long pause before the male pureblood let out a deep breath and moved. He left the chair and sat down on the bed beside her.

Aiyora's brows squeezed again, for the second time, as she felt something akin to heatwave radiating off of him. Odd! It wasn't something she ever noticed before. But since she wasn't talking to him there wasn't the option to point out.

His fingers felt warm, no, it was abnormally hot when they took hold of her chin and turned her face towards him. Although it did not show it on her face but she was starting to get worried. His body felt like it was being grilled from inside. And his gaze seemed, unsettling.

"Are you not going to talk to me? Upset that I devoured Hio Shizuka?"

A hard glare was the only response she gave.

"You can tell me if you're upset. I'd understand. Last night you witnessed something heinous. Believe me, if possible I would have kept you away from all ugliness. But our world is filthy and in order to survive, one must taint their hands. ...I had to make a choice, it was either her or you and me."

This time when no response came he leaned in, his face uncomfortably close to her. Aiyora gulped, not being able to bear the weird feeling in her stomach due to such close proximity. Also, the hot breath he was releasing felt like brush of fire against her skin.

She looked away and spoke for the first time.

"Couldn't somebody else have done the task for you?" She asked annoyed. "Like a professional killer."

He didn't say anything and she didn't dare turn. Patiently waited for him to reply, which never came. Instead, felt his wet hot tongue trailing up on the side of her neck.

"Kana—"

She yelped in surprise and was able to scream when a large hand covered her mouth, muffling her voice.

She tried to shove him off of her but he didn't even budge. If anything his hold tightened so much that it was almost crushing her. His heart was beating so fast that she could feel it against her chest like hard slaps. His tongue travelled down the length of her neck before closing his lips around her pulse point. Her body froze before giving out a fearful shiver the moment his sharp elongated fangs grazed the spot. Luckily, that shiver was more than enough to bring him back.

But pulling back was easier said than done. His body shuddered, in protest against the decision he just made. Using his hands Kaname squeezed the pillow and the mattress so hard that both unfortunate objects tore apart for him to be able to pull away from her.

When he finally pulled back she caught sight of his eyes changing back to it's usual warm burgundy hue from its thirsty red state.

"I'm sorry..." he muttered. She detected sincerity in his voice. "I'm so sorry... I don't know what came over me... I just... I'll leave..."

And just like that, he left in a haste. Leaving Aiyora to process what just happened.

As Kaname walked back to his study, Senri entered.

"Did Ai-chan wake up?" The aristocrat inquired.

The pureblood could not bring himself answer. Instead continued to rubbed his forehead and when suddenly a large crack appeared on one of the windows.

Senri was stunned. It's not like said something to make his cousin angry. Besides, he didn't even look angry. If anything he appeared to be quite stressed out. However if wasn't any of Senri's business. Therefore he had no reason to investigate. He simply left the older male in his personal space and walked into the bedroom to check on Aiyora.

The following afternoon Kaname called Aidou and Kain to his room, in order to carry out initial inquiry on Shizuka's case.

The pureblood was lounging on the divan while the two noble stood before him.

"The disintegrated body of Hio Shizuka was all that remained. Cross Yuuki and the headmaster were there as well. The headmaster though, informed that he has taken care of Zero. That's it. That's what I witnessed." Kain reported.

"I see..." Kaname put a hand under his chin and sighed. "Kiryu had enough reasons to kill that woman, but I don't think he'd do something so rash. However, it can't be helped if it is assumed that he killed her."

Hanabusa flinched and unintentionally gave out a small audible grunt hearing those words. And of course Kaname was quick to notice it.

"What's wrong, Aidou?"

"It's n-nothing!" The blonde kept his gaze down. Afraid to meet the pureblood in the eye. Amongst the cousins he was the one that had real knowledge of what had actually happened.

"In any case, I must report all of these to the council." Kaname stood up and headed towards the window. "It's a fact that someone has committed the greatest taboo. They have dared to do the unspeakable by killing a pureblood."

The brunette then placed an arm against the window and leaned his head against it. "It's tragic, people gave her the cruel nickname of Kuruizaki-hime. It makes me wonder, if anyone truly understood her."

.

.

.

Aiyora stood outside the dorm president's door, listening. After a while when the cousin duo came out she made a long eye contact with the blue eyed blonde, but no words were exchanged.

Senri, Aiyora and Rima were the only three individuals present in class that evening. Nobody else bothered to come.

Even though Kaname initially said class would continue as usual but he himself sent out messages an hour before that he was not feeling well enough to attend. After that announcement most people decided to skip class.

"No one's here, we're alone, not even the eyepatch is coming here." Rima contemplated with a poky in her mouth. She was sitting on a desk of the front row.

"Hmmm..." Senri responded with a hum. Beside him Aiyora remained quiet.

"Do you guys want some poky?" Rima offered.

"No thank you. I have heart burn now."

After her partner declined, the female aristocrat then looked at his half-sister, the pureblood also nodded her head no.

"Something's wrong I got a bad feeling." Senri commented, taking in the current atmosphere.

Hearing him, Aiyora tensed.

The aristocrats observed the pureblood carefully. She appeared distant and distracted since the night of the ball. He tried to ask but she went to great length to avoid the matter.

"Are you okay Ai-chan?" Senri wrapped an arm around his half sister's shoulder. Assuring her that he was there for her not matter what she was going through currently.

"Yes, I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"You're uncharacteristically quiet." It was Rima, who pointed out looking over the shoulder. Watching the two with great caution.

"Nothing to worry about. It just that the ball has got me exhausted—" Aiyora gets interrupted as her phone starts to ring. She takes a quick glance only to become frozen by the name displayed on the screen.

"Who's calling?" Senri tried to peek. But his sister quickly hid the device.

And lied.

"Um... I-It's the agency. I have to take the call."

Then stood up and walked to the door in quick long strides.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Senri offered. Suspicious of her change in demeanor.

"No!"

She left the classroom slamming the door after her.

The female Kuran was walking through the forest in an attempt to get as far away from the school building and the moon dormitory possible before she answered the phone.

"Good evening Ichio-donno. What a pleasant surprise. How have you been?" She greeted the council president respectfully. Trying her best to sound as calm and composed as possible.

"I am quite alright, thank you for asking. How are you doing? I haven't heard from you in a while."

"Well things have been quite busy at the academy."

"That's understandable, considering the unfortunate incident that has taken place. Actually, I phoned you to discuss about the very matter. Are you free to speak now?"

She darted out her tongue and chapped her drying lips. A sign to indicate her growing nervousness.

"Aiyora-sama?"

"...Yes, I'm here. I'm free. What did you want to discuss?" She tried to remain cautious and calculative. Being well aware each of her words would be accounted for.

"I would like to hear your thought about the incident, because, out of you and Kaname-sama, I find you to be the reliable and honest one."

This is not good.

"What do you want to know?" She asked heaving a deep sigh. She did not want to be dragged in. Sadly there seemed to be no way out.

"Earlier today Kaname-sama reported Hio Shizuka's death. Although he has not been able to provide any solid identity of killer, but, he has listed Kiryu Zero as the prime suspect. On the basis of the latter's history with her."

The phone fell from Aiyora's grip and landed on the ground. The pureblood let out some sighs, feeling utterly helpless.

First he murders in cold blood and now accusing someone else off it. What a cruel coward!

"Are you there Aiyora-sama?" The voice from the other side of the phone snapped her out of her thought.

She quickly picked up the device and put it back to her ear.

"Yes! Yes! I'm here, I'm listening."

Ichio continued. "However, my experience is telling me there is more to the matter. Which is why I would like to conduct a through investigation not only of Kiryu Zero but also of Kuran Kaname."

"What?!"

Even though Aiyora felt as if she was being stuck by thunder. But it would be wrong to say she was surprised. A part of her saw this coming. The president of the Vampire council is definitely no moron.

The pureblood found herself in a turmoil. However she also knew that she must remain calm at such critical time. One wrong move or even the slightest slip of emotion could lead to something catastrophic.

"You think Kaname onii-sama is behind this? That he killed Shizuka-sama?"

"It is not impossible. If he is capable of rape, I'm sure he is capable of murder as well. Wouldn't you agree...?"

Aiyora bit into her own tongue in rage. It was still a better action than making any wrong comment. Her silence gave the elder senator the chance to proceed.

"Besides, I strongly believe Kiryu Zero is not yet capable of taking down a pureblood all by himself. He must have had some sort of help and that helping hand could have been Kaname-sama."

Aiyora knew her time to remain silent was running short. Soon she has to open her mouth. But before that a choice needs to be made between:

Kuran Kaname— the culprit.

Or Kiryu Zero— the innocent.

Her sense of justice versus her loyalty to her own kind. The choice was simple, but the circumstance wasn't...

"I'd hate to ruin it for you Ichio-donno. But suspicion is incorrect."

The vampire society was in dire need of Kuran Kaname, than the human or hunters needed Zero. The latter is replaceable but the former isn't... at least not now.

"...You see, Kaname onii-sama was in my company at the time of the incident. So there's no way he could have been any way involved with Shizuka-sama's death. ... I do not know whether Kiryu-san did it, but I do know that Kuran Kaname didn't."

Silent tears rolled down her face and landed on the ground.

"...Oh! I see. And where were you both?" Ichio broke the silence that followed after the pureblood's statement.

"In his room."

There was another moment of silence before Ichio spoke again.

"Alright then, forgive me for making such speculation. Now that you have testified, I will clarify Kaname-sama's name and proceed from the other direction. Like I said at the beginning... I would rely your statement."

"Is there anything else I can assist you with?" Aiyora tried to end the conversation. Wiping her tears.

"That would be all for now. Thank you for your cooperation, Aiyora-sama. It is greatly appreciated. However..."

There was another heavy silence before Ichio spoke again.

"...I do hope, you made the wise decision."

The female Kuran's heart stopped. She could feel Ichio's victorious smirk from the other end as he bid her 'farewell' and wished her 'good night' and disconnected the line.

I hope so too...

Even next evening majority decided to skip class with the exception of Takuma, Senri, Rima and Aiyora.

The cousins Ruka, Hanabusa and Akatsuki joined the rest and skipped out on tonight's class.

Ruka decided to stay back in the dorm because Kaname was skipping tonight's class as well. So she thought it was best to stay close just in case if 'Kaname-sama' is in some sort of need.

Hanabusa on the other hand decided to take a walk. Naturally his cousin followed. A little worried since the blue eyed blonde was acting more strange since the night of the ball.

"It's cold tonight." Akatsuki mentioned conversationally. It was his attempt to get his cousin to talk.

Hanabusa only hummed as a response.

"I can tell by the way you're acting Hanabusa, that something is bothering you."

The blonde avoided his cousin's gaze. There was a limit to how much he could hide. Akatsuki was no fool, in fact anyone can understand by taking one look at him.

"Say Akatsuki... how much do you know about Hio Shizuka?"

"She was uncontrollable and posed a danger to vampires and humans alike. After going mad she attacked the Kiryu family, then disappeared and showed up here. That's about it."

"She was treated like a nuisance, right? Still, she was a rare pureblood..." Hanabusa trailed off remembering the dorm president's words from yesterday.

Akatsuki wondered what this was all about. As Hanabusa walked off towards the lakeside, he followed.

"She had a pureblood fiancé, Aiyora-sama's father to be precise. Yet for someone unknown reason, she kept a human male by her side. To be exact he was a former human. And it seemed like she loved that servant. But his name was put on the hunter's execution list and the Kiryus took him down. However, there are words that this man had not lapsed into level-E."

"If so, then by rights, his name should not have been on that list." Akatsuki added to his cousins point.

"I know. But it was... Later Shizuka-sama attacked the Kiryu family to seek revenge."

"Whatever the reason maybe, a pureblood shouldn't have gone after the hunters." Akatsuki argued. "Most higher up vampires want peace. Her actions were same as someone gone crazy."

"She had proven to be a high risk to the senate. They must have been searching for her relentlessly and she was probably on the run, fleeing from them. So why would she risk it? Why come here? When she knew off the risk?"

"Another act of madness." The fiery haired vampire stated dryly.

"No! You're wrong..." Aidou walked past Kain and paused placing a hand on his chest. "There's was something she wanted here..."

The power... from a pureblood vampire's blood.

"And I don't think she wasn't the only... someone else is after it as well."

Couple more days passed with no noticeable improvement on Kaname's condition. If anything it was deteriorating.

Takuma was starting to lose sleep worrying for his friend. The blonde assumed his friend has caught some rare sickness. Aiyora wanted to laugh when he presented that theory to her. Despite the heavy urge to share, she knew it was best to keep him in dark. One detail would lead to another and it wouldn't be long before the actual truth is unveiled. Hence why she kept Senri in the dark as well.

However the burden was weighing down her shoulders. Time was ticking and if something is not done faster, soon enough people around will start to suspect.

Shizuka was right. By devouring her Kaname gained new powers. To be exact he inherited all her powers. But they were coming at a hefty cost. The powers of a pureblood are no joke, they are so strong and intense that he was facing real difficulty to bring them under control.

Slightest change of temper or mood is shattering glasses and other objects around . Abnormal body temperature, there is no balance— His body is either burning or freezing. His strength has moved past what is considered normal for pureblood standard. Yesterday when she went to check on him, he grabbed her hand normally, yet, somehow her wrist fractured.

These abnormalities are evidence. And if these evidence aren't tampered with on time... then...

Aiyora shook her head. She didn't want to think more. Her footsteps came to a pause. Turning around on her heels she looked up and found Kaname standing behind his window... watching her with his blood thirsty eyes. And as if it has become some sort of normalcy, the glass on his window cracked.

.

.

.

Kaname clasped his forehead to calm down the sudden raging headache pulsating into his brain.

"This new power is quite strong. I will need to learn how to control it." He muttered to himself.

The glasses shattered with pieces flying everywhere.

"But I suppose I will get used to it quite quickly."

Turning, he collected the blazer resting over his chair and left his room after days with one thought in mind.

One games is over and the next one has already begun.

The white knight on the chess board beside the already broken piece suddenly shattered.

Zero... I wonder how he is doing right now?

Yuuki was seated by the water fountain. Lost in deep thought, worried about Zero when she suddenly heard the familiar voice, appreciating.

"Thank you for patrolling the grounds."

"Kaname!" The petite brunette shot up.

"Were you taking a break?" By placing a hand on her shoulder, he sat her down and before sitting down by her side.

"I heard that Zero was injured. How is his recovery coming along?"

"Oh well the headmaster said there's nothing to worry about. So I guess..."

"That incident was something the night class should have taken care off. I'm sorry you got dragged into it."

"Huh!" Yuuki looked at him confused and blushed.

Then suddenly to her surprise, he cupped her face. "No matter what measure is taken, you still manage to get yourself in trouble Yuuki."

"Well... it's just that..." she didn't even know what to say.

"Now for Zero... that task would be rather difficult, especially in his condition."

"Zero, he saved me." Yuuki said firmly to make her point. "I made a promise... I swore I'd protect him but in the end, I was the one who..."

"I see..." Kaname stood up. The dull ache in bis head was returning and staying close to Yuuki at a time like this was risky. If his power is somehow let loose she would get hurt. Unfortunately she's a valuable piece, that is connected to his most important pawn. Therefore, her safety cannot be jeopardized.

But Yuuki misunderstood his action. She thought her words made him upset. "Kaname-senpai, I—"

"You must not blame yourself Yuuki. He owes you too much, this is the least he could do." Saying that he walked away. Leaving the girl in her own dilemma.

No... that's not true. You don't understand, you're wrong Kaname-senpai. Zero is suffering. It's not just Zero... everybody is suffering because of their entwined destiny and all I can do is watch...

The smell of Kuran Kaname's rich blood permeated through the air. It was after a long time the vampires smelled his blood. Last time when his blood spilled, it was done by his back then fiancée. So it was not considered a big deal. But who was it this time drinking from him? The question roamed everyone's mind.

Just like it happened at the night of the ball, tonight also the all vampires froze as the got a whiff.

Hanabusa and Akatsuki were in the garden outside the moon dormitory, taking a stroll. Both tensed at the smell. Ruka was passing through one of the dimly lit corridor of the moon dormitory when her steps abruptly stopped. Takuma was in his room reading, to be precise he was about to turn a page. Senri and Rima were in class. The male model even put a hand on his throat to soothe the growing dryness.

As for Kuran Aiyora... she was sitting on the balcony attached to the second floor of the school building. Quietly watching the crescent shaped moon.

What game are you playing onii-sama?

Aiyora didn't know what to feel about Kaname's current action. He's feeding a soon to be level-E. More accurately the latter is also the person whom he is framing for murder. So what's the point of this phoney charity?

Unless...

Did Zero miss out the chance to drink Shizuka-sama's blood? On a second thought, was there even a drop left? Kaname onii-sama seemed to have have dried her out.

"I feel so trapped... so useless." a timid voice spoke from behind and snapped the pureblood out of the zone she was lost in. Immediately the younger female rolled her eyes, irritated with presence that just invaded her personal space.

I'm the one who witnessed live murder and having to save the ass of the damn murderer. And you feel trapped...? Seriously bitch!

"What's the matter Yuuki-sempai?" Aiyora decided to humour herself for sometime, in hopes that it would take her mind off of the awful event that was taking place currently.

"I think I've hurt Kaname-senpai."

Oh God!

Aiyora closed her eyes and sighed. "I need details."

"He came to talk to me not too long ago and inquired about Zero's progress. I tried to explain my perspective. Told him how I have failed Zero. As I was the one who was supposed to save him... but in the end he ended up saving me."

Isn't there always someone saving you?! What new in that?

"...Kaname-senpai ended the conversation abruptly and left in a hurry."

"Oh don't worry about him. My guess would be he was starting to feel sick again."

"Kaname-senpai is sick!" Exclaimed Yuuki, now feeling guilty. "What happened?! If I knew, I would have tried to help him out."

"Yuuki-sempai..." Aiyora sighed tiredly. "Do you have the slightest clue as to what is happening as we are speaking?"

"What do you mean?! Is there something that I don't know... well, the truth is there are many things that I don't know or understand. Which is why I feel so helpless, so useless. I wish I could have done more to help the others around."

Aiyora smirked at those emotional, sentimental words.

Oh that's quite simple, all you have to do is mind your own business. That would be of great help.

"You know something Yuuki-sempai, you are starting to act like my guilty pleasure— the damsel in distress heroine from the movies, books and mangas."

"Huh?!" Yuuki blushed at the compliment. Little did she know, the other female was actually insulting her in cool head.

"I never think of myself so highly. If anything I always thought you are more like a female lead. The way you maintain your appearance and behave, it's better than people we see on the silver-screen."

Aiyora chuckled before proceeding with her explanation.

"Nope, you're wrong Yuuki-sempai. I don't have the look or the characteristics of the female lead. A female is supposed be average looking but cute. With a personality that is kind, loving, understanding, always looking out and trying to help others, in love and loved by many. Unfortunately, I am none of those."

Yuuki's blush deepened. She could barely look at Aiyora. "If this is what I am, the female lead, then what are you?"

Aiyora smiled wickedly for a moment then closing the gap between her and the human, she replied, whispering into her ear.

"Actually I'm the lead in negative role. Whose sole purpose of existence is to stand as an obstacle before the female lead."

"What does that suppose to mean?"

"You'll know when the time is right."

Yuuki's eyed widened, partly from shock and partly because she was more confused. Even before she could comprehend what the vampire meant Aiyora was already gone from there, disappeared into the thin air. With no trace of her ever being there.

They were passing the abandoned teachers dorm which was once used as the temporary moon dormitory.

"Can you smell that...?" Ruka asked in a worried tone to the vice president, who has asked her to join him for a stroll this evening around the campus.

"Yes. Even the sweetest of smell can be nauseating if it's far too strong. Like flowers that are out of season, blooming all at once."

It may have been several days since her demise but the smell of Hio Shizuka's blood still haunted the area around.

"Do you think..." Ruka hesitated initially but went with the question anyway. "...the death of Hio Shizuka has somehow affected Kaname-sama?"

"I don't know what is exactly going on with Kaname. But I can sense this much... he needs help. Now, more than ever..."

Ruka stood before the mirror, brushing her wavy blonde tresses. She hasn't slept an ounce since her talk with the vice president. Where he indirectly told her what to do.

Her stomach clenched with anxiety, heart pounding erratically. It felt like she was about to do something forbidden.

She put the hairbrush down and shifted her gaze to the perfume she purchased a while back. It's a soft lavender scent. The exact same one that Kuran Aiyora uses. The female Kuran wears it on regular basis. In fact she uses the entire line— soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, cream, hair spray etc etc. It's her favourite, as it further enhances her body's natural lavender essence. The first time Ruka wore the perfume, to her utmost surprise she was also complemented by Kaname. She never expected for something like that to happen. But it did...

She brought the uncapped bottle to her neck, held it close to her pulse point and sprayed.

Once the smell settled in Ruka put the bottle back and left the dressing table. Her roommate Rima was asleep. As a matter of fact everyone was fast asleep. It was the early hours of the morning after all. Therefore making it the perfect time.

Quietly, she slipped out of her room and headed towards the desired destination. Goosebumps already spreading along her skin in anticipation...

No matter what happens between them, to him they will always be insignificant. He does not understand how deep her feelings run, maybe he never would. But her point of view was different, she kept building castle of hope within her heart, despite knowing in the end she would only get hurt. Even back then, when he dark from her, she was a mere substitute, just a scratch to soothe the dry itch of his throat caused by that human. Which was probably why he didn't feel the single bit of remorse to leave her on the floor on the brink of unconsciousness. Nor did he bother acknowledge the cruelty later on. Yet, here she was... still chasing him. Her pride and dignity always vanished when it came to Kuran Kaname.

But isn't it what love does...? Take away ones rationality.

Right now, standing before the pureblood's door Ruka felt so much anguish in her chest, so much pain, that she was afraid whether heart will be able to take anymore.

Her emotions turned to tears as she awaited his call.

Souen Ruka loved Kuran Kaname desperately. With every cell and fibre of her body and soul she loved this man. But her feelings aren't returned. In fact he would never feel anything like it. Truth is, he trusted her and thought of her as ally but that was far from what she wanted.

The aristocrat place a hand on the door handle. A strange form of courage overcame her heart. And it was that courage which made her twist the handle.

But then,

Out of the blue a hand grabbed hold of Ruka's wrist making her jump with fright.

"What are you doing here?" Aiyora asked calmly.

"I need to speak to Kaname-sama." Ruka replied avoiding the pureblood's gaze. She felt like a thief who got caught.

"At this time?" The pureblood raised an amused brow. Making it obvious she didn't buy the aristocrat's words.

"The matter is urgent." Ruka tried to pull her wrist free but Aiyora grip remained firm.

"I see... actually I also need to talk to him and the matter is also urgent. So, why don't you wait here, while I go finish up. You can certainly go after me."

"Aiyora-sama, please try and understand the matter is very urgent. I must speak to Kaname-sama."

"Mine is also urgent. Which is why yours have to wait."

"Forgive me for being blunt. But you're not the one we obey..." Ruka left the sentence incomplete for the other to interpret.

For a second the pureblood was baffled but the shock was masked in a second and a smirk curved up the end of her lips.

"Ruka-senpai you're absolutely correct to obey him, he is the boss for all of you. But for me, the situation is different... because I am his boss. So now step aside and wait!" The word 'wait' was highly emphasized.

With that said Aiyora let go of the aristocrat's wrist and sent her couple steps back in the process.

And all Ruka could do was bite back her rage and watch the younger female open the door... step inside... and close the door back.

Their eye contact not breaking until the door closed between them.

Her perfectly manicured hand undid the silk robe and slowly let it fall past the shoulders as she sauntered her way to the red velvet divan. Revealing the body covered in barely there lilac slip dress.

He kept his gaze firmly on the pair of feet that was bringing her closer. With her each step the muscles under his skin tightened. The closer she got the more he burned. She carefully climbed onto his lap and gathered her hair to one side. Leaving a side of her neck fully exposed. Kaname let out a shaky breath as his eyes turned red.

"Give into your instincts..." Aiyora was first one to break the tensed silence. Leaning in, she whispered against the shell of his ear.

Purpose of such low whisper was not to seduce him. But to make sure the aristocrat outside the door was kept in the dark. It was their secret to keep and nobody was allowed in. Not even Takuma or Senri.

"Don't..." He muttered. "I don't want to hurt you." It was hard to distinguish whether it was a warning or request. Regardless, she ignored.

"You're losing it." Her arms wrapped around his torso and grabbed hold of his large back.

"I shall get used to it in few days."

"You don't have that time..."

"I will manage... somehow..." he sounded uncertain.

"Ichio suspects your involvement."

"Don't get involved..."

"Stop fighting! It will only get worse."

There was a moment of blur. Kaname did not even know when they moved, because they were already laying down on the divan. With him over her... his face buried at the crook of her neck... his lips covering every inch of skin they could find there... tongue tasting and tracing her pulse point...

Her hands continued to rub his back when one of her leg dared to wrap around his hip and ground their pelvic together. Right away his fangs penetrated her flesh.

Aiyora bit her bottom lip hard to stop the erupting cry...

Outside the door Ruka shut her eyes and fisted both her hands.

Soon she was joined by a disheveled and tensed looking Senri and Takuma. Both of whom just woke up and ran out of their room. And Akatsuki, who was casually leaning against the wall behind her.

Senri was about to barge in but Ruka got hold of him quickly and prevented.

"She did it... willingly."

Takuma squeezed his brows, confused.

The Shiki heir cast his head down. Feeling unsure on what to feel about what he just learned.

Meanwhile inside the room...

Kaname clung to her flesh so desperately that he failed to notice how his body was almost crushing her. It got to a point where it was becoming difficult for Aiyora to breathe. But he was in no place to understand. In that moment all he could think about was the blood he was draining. The blood he has been wanting for so long... Each gulp more mouthful than the previous. It was as if he was a thirsty person who just discovered water in the middle of a dessert.

His body shuddered under her touch but it was so faint that Aiyora wasn't sure if it was really happening or was she imagining. She removed one of her hand from his back, bringing it up to the nape of his neck to grab fistful of his hair and tug them gently. Her action only fuelled his eagerness as his chest vibrated while a muffled growl left his lips, resulting in him to bite harder and fangs digging in deeper than before.

She clenched her eyes shut from the painful sensation.

Eventually the male Kuran pulled away. A thin line of blood running down from the corner of his parted lips. His breath coming out in quick pants as if he was coming down from the peak of an orgasm.

Aiyora looked away from him to catch a breath. Glad that it was over. Maybe now Ruka can have her turn.

And then unexpectedly, came the moment which she did not see coming, but should have!

Without any form warning Kaname dived down in full force and attacked the untouched side of her neck. This time no licking... no preparation... just one hard bite... fangs penetrated deep inside...

He was drinking her dry.

A.N. Alright, so that was my version of episode 13. With that comes the conclusion of season 1. Now moving onto season 2. But I'm also planning to follow some parts of the manga which is why the first couple chapters will be slightly different before blending in with the anime timeline.

Moving onto my explanation as to why this chapter went the way it did:

I'm sure many of you were expecting Aiyora to do the right thing and save Zero. But instead she defended the criminal. Well, she has different calculations. And according to that calculation, the night class, she herself and to

some extent the vampire society needs Kaname more than the hunters need Zero. So he did what she thought was best for her and the vampire. Throwing Kaname under the bus would only lead them to trouble but having Zero gone doesn't make difference to the vampires.

As for Ichio suspecting Kaname... In this story Kaname doesn't have a clean sheet. He already has rape charges against him. Even if it is fake. The council can easily use that and put some sort of accusations on him. Plus Ichio smart I'm sitting he wouldn't buy the fact that Zero single handedly took down Shizuka who happen to be his master, when he is still a hunter in making. He still hasn't gone to that stage.

Then the blood feeding... Aiyora didn't mean to take away Ruka's chance at feeding Kaname. Ruka is an aristocrat chances are her blood wound not be as effective as Aiyora's, who's a pureblood. Plus Kaname's currently vulnerability also played a part. If others start to notice his newly gained power and how it's out of control could result in both the Kuran getting trapped.

Lastly, Aiyora doesn't hate Yuuki but sadly their encounter recently happens at the worst of time. Also if you compare that problem, Aiyora's is more denser compared to Yuuki's. While Yuuki is stuck between upsetting her love interest and worrying for her friend. Aiyora is suffering from the guilt of helping a criminal at the cost of throwing an innocent under the bus. She is stuck in a political mess.

That's all I have to say for now. Hope you all enjoyed. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed.
