Magical Origins
Year 4: The Yule Ball
The weeks to the Yule Ball ended with excitement. It was filled with rumors. For instance, Dumbledore hired the magical rock band The Weird Sisters to perform. Or that he bought several gallons of butterbeer and eggnog.
Yet the most significant moment was when Ron Weasley asked Fleur Delacour to the ball in the middle of the Great Hall. She took one look at him, and her face filled with disgust. She didn't answer him and instead walks out of the hall with her friends.
Seamus and Ginny took Ron back to Gryffindor Tower to hide his shame. It was no secret why Ron was rejected. His clothes were poor and had stains and holes all over them. Not to mention, there was food and crumbs all over the front of his robes. Ron seemed to love to eat and live like a pig every day. Harry half wonder if Weasley was going to get a date or if he would take his sister to make it appear as if he had one.
Word spread quickly around the school that Harry was taking Daphne Greengrass. Daphne was facing a lot of pressure from other girls. Most of them were jealous with envy. Harry was one of the most handsome forth years in the school. Not to mention he was one of Europes finest bachelors. As every girl knew he was going to be one of the richest Lords in Europe. Many girls merely assumed Daphne was going after Harry for his wealth.
Even though Harry was going with Daphne, many countless girls still asked Harry out in hopes of dumping Daphne in favor of themselves. Many of them batted their eyelashes and clearly were using potions and glamor charms to make themselves look more beautiful than they really were.
Harry wasn't fooled. He asked Daphne out, and he would keep to his word and honor his words to Daphne. Harry spent much of the days inside his Common Room practicing his dancing moves he learned from Neville. He was getting better and matching his steps better. So he wouldn't look like a complete fool on the dance floor when he was with Daphne. He was sure Daphne learned to dance from her own family.
Then again, Neville did have a point in saying half the people going didn't know how to dance. Neville would probably be the dancer of the year if they were going to hand out awards to the best dancer for tonight's Yule Ball.
Harry woke up on Christmas morning to see presents at the foot of his bed. Harry piles the presents on his bed and begins to open. The first gift he opens was from Sirius. He gave him a magical knife that was capable of opening any lock he would come across. Harry was more than sure Sirius had mischief thought in his head when he gave Harry this gift.
The next was from the Wynter's and his vassals. Apparently, they all decided to get Harry a set of books on dueling and defensive magic. Harry opens the first book, Proper Defensive Magic and its Uses, and dug in at once with the first chapter. Already he could see himself learning loads from these books, and he had every intention practicing these spells once he got some alone time.
Lupin had given him the rare edition of Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them. It included rare species of almost every kind of magical creature that exists.
Artemis sent Harry a letter. At six months pregnant, she was spending most of her time now at home. Her healing career was put on hold. Yet she still studied to be a healer. Already she got many compliments and kind remarks from her mentors. Many said she was gifted and had a natural talent. She even hinted that Percy, despite having a girlfriend, was still trying to hit on her. He got furious she was pregnant with another person's child and yelled at her for 'cheating on him' and 'crushing' his dreams. Artemis slip this to his girlfriend Penelope Clearwater, and the two of them got into an argument.
In the end, she sends him a pair of dragon fang earrings and a necklace. Harry puts them on and rereads the letter. Taking note that these fangs were enchanted to protect Harry's mind from invasion, and would help him with his occlumency. Harry knew these would come in handy. Even though he was a skillful Occlumency user, he was by no means a master.
Harry opens his last gift and sees it was bizarre. It was a small wooden box that almost appeared like a Muggle music box that was wrapped neatly and interesting.
Harry opens the box, and to his surprise, a glowing ball of some kind shot out and started darting around the room.
"What's that?" Blaise asked as he looks up from his presents.
"No idea," Harry said as the strange glowing ball stopped in front of Harry and seemed to be trying to speak to him.
"Is there a note?" Blaise asked.
Harry looks in the box and right underneath the lid, was a letter. Harry opens it and reads.
'Harry Potter, you have grown greatly in your abilities, but you must remember you cannot do everything on your own. This familiar is now yours. It's a sprite. A water spirit of great abilities and talents. Useful in many ways. Consider this a Merry Christmas to you. Your book will have more information for you. Stay vigilant.'
There was no signature, no name to who was the sender. A white feather appeared at the end of the letter telling Harry the Witch of the Wind was the one responsible.
Harry was going to dig into his book to learn more. However, he had other priorities. Such as getting ready for the Yule Ball. Even though it wouldn't start till six tonight, he still needed to make preparations.
Harry digs into his trunk and pulls out his dress robes. They were dark green, and according to Olivia Wynter, to bring out the green in his eyes as well as represent the House of Slytherin. He quickly straightened it out and tried to make it look presentable.
"I need a bath," Harry mutters.
"Well, don't forget your egg," Blaise said, sniggering as he tosses Harry's golden egg to him. Harry responds by giving Blaise the finger as he walks into the bathroom and prepares to take a bath. Harry sets the egg on the edge before undressing and climbing in. Harry leans back and sighs as he thought about the tournament.
The dragon would have been dangerous had he gone in not knowing what he was facing. Cedric's body was severely burned as he got his egg. Cedric didn't think of getting creative in getting his egg. He was merely hoping for the best and wishing for luck.
Fleur and Krum were proving to be real competitors. If Harry weren't in the tournament, they would be winning right now. Fleur proved to be really creative in enchanting her dragon to sleep instead of being aggressive to take the egg. Krum, too, though Harry was sure Karkaroff told Krum what to do.
Harry sighs as he leans back and lets the water soak his body.
His new familiar comes into the bath and knocks the egg into the water. It was moving around as if it was excited about something. Harry looks at his familiar and realized it just like the water. It rested on top of the bathwater as if it was happy.
"Since you're a water sprite, I guess you would love the water," Harry said as he smiles at his new familiar.
Harry looks at the egg that was now at the bottom of the bath, which was now open. Harry moved to collect it only to pause as he was about to reach for the egg when he paused and realized it was opened, and that yellow golden glow was emitting from the egg as bubbles appeared from the egg. Yet no wailing sound could be heard.
Artemis told him that some voices could only be heard through certain elements and conditions.
Taking a chance, Harry dips his head underwater, and immediately, he could a woman singing. It sounded so beautiful and wonderful.
"Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground, And while you're searching ponder this; We've taken what you'll sorely miss, An hour-long you'll have to look, and recover what we took, but past an hour, the prospect's black, Too late, it's gone, it won't come back."
Harry closes the egg and comes back up. He sets the egg down on the bath side and breathes heavily. The only species that Harry knew of that was capable of singing in water, was the merpeople. That meant, the second task was going to be held in the Black Lake.
The problem was, the Black Lake was vast, and was more than a hundred fathoms down.
Breathing underwater was never a problem for Harry. He was capable of gathering oxygen from the water to breathe. However, he could only do so for thirty minutes.
Then Harry remembers what Neville said about Gillyweed. How it allowed a person to breathe underwater and have magical changes to the body to enable underwater travel. He would have to order some from owl posts and get some delivered. He would also need to scout out and explore the great lake and know where the dangers were. As well as find the merpeople settlement. He was sure if he could find the merpeople settlement and find the safest and quickest route, he would, without a doubt, win first place again.
Harry climbs out of the bath and quickly drives himself.
Hard to believe learning the second task was made by accident. Harry also felt stupid for not thinking of using water to figure out the egg clue. It did seem obvious.
Harry quickly gets dressed and walks out of the bath.
His new familiar flew from the bath and rested itself on Harry's shoulder. Harry smiles as he looks at it.
"So, what are you and Daphne going to do today?" Blaise asked.
"We haven't spoken of it. I guess I'll ask her," Harry said.
"You're so lucky you got Daphne. I'm going with Tracy. Also, you're not going to believe this." Blaise said.
"What's that?" Harry asked.
"Crabbe and Goyle couldn't find dates," Blaise said.
"That's no surprise. Those two are thick and incredibly unintelligent. I'm willing to bet no girl likes them. It would be a surprise if Weasley got a date." Harry said. Blaise broke into a smile.
"I would be surprised if Weasley does get a date. He's not exactly the best type of guy to like. It would be a surprise if any girl does like him," said Blaise.
"I'd be surprised if he can maintain a relationship. He has a tenancy of having a sick obsession with false facts." Harry said. He was, of course, referring to the fact that Ron spent every year labeling Harry as the next rising Dark Lord.
"Well, I'm glad your family finally put Weasley in his place. I don't know how long you would have lasted if he had continued this year going off about you in front of the other two schools." Blaise said.
Yes, Weasley was no longer allowed to say anything about Harry in public anymore. Or it would mean a magical dispute between the Weasley's and the Potter's. Which was basically a state of war between families. The outcome would not go well for the Weasley's due to the simple fact the Potter family had more resources and connections than the Weasley's. It also didn't help that Harry had the Black family and their Vassals supporting him.
Arthur Weasley had no doubt spoken harshly to his son and reminded him not to start anything or pick fights with Harry any longer.
"Well it doesn't matter, let's go outside I don't want to be cramped up inside all day," Harry said.
In saying that, they left and walked down the snake-like corridor to the Common Room.
Because of the Yule Ball, countless students were staying over the winter holidays. So it was crowded more than usual during this time of the year. Daphne and Tracy were in the Common Room giggling like a pair of teenagers they were.
"Daphne, Tracy," Harry said as he walks up to them.
They look at him and giggle again. It was clear they were talking about him.
"Let's go outside, it's going to be packed inside, and I would rather be outside than stay inside," Harry said.
"Let us get our winter cloaks," Daphne said as they got up and disappeared down the girl's corridor. Tracy said something, and the pair of them giggles as they disappear down the girls' corridor.
"Any idea what they're saying?" Harry asks Blaise.
"No," Blaise said.
The two of them look at each other before they sigh, realizing they probably would never understand girls.
The only reason why Harry was taking Daphne was the same reason why Blaise was taking Tracy. They knew them and like them as friends. There was no crush or any desire between them. Just mutual understanding at best.
The girls came back wearing their winter cloaks, and they headed outside to the courtyard.
They didn't see any Beaubaxton students outside. Most likely, they were inside their large cottage staying by the fires. Since they spent most of their time in the French, they weren't used to the winter cold Hogwarts had to offer. They did see some Durmstrange students walking around. They had on their winter cloaks, but other than that, they seem to be enjoying what Hogwarts had to offer.
The four of them immediately got into a game of tag by pelting magically made snowballs at one another. None, however, were as good as Harry, who not only made entirely made snowballs but also was able to launch them at high speed at his friends. They all laughed and ran away as the snowballs kept flying around them. Ernie MacMillan, Hannah Abbot, Susan Bones, and Justin Finch-Fletchley soon join them, and it became a battle between Slytherin and Hufflepuff. Other students came out to watch and were enjoying the outside.
Lily, Ron, and Hermione also came out. Hermione was sitting down and, unsurprisingly, was reading a book.
Harry took note of this and wonder if the girl understood what 'having fun' meant. All she seemed to care about was reading every book that went under her nose. It was like she didn't know how to be a teenager. Harry started making a pile of snowballs and quickly sent them flying at Granger. The first one hit her in the face, and she nearly fell over. She looked up and was baffled at this. She made an attempt to speak, but Harry sent another one at her. This caused everyone to started pelting Granger with snowballs. She had no choice but to grab her book and run back inside.
Ron followed, and from what Harry was able to hear, he was cursing him under his breath. Lily also went inside. Harry knew she had a hard time dealing with winter and prefer the summer. Though Harry was able to see, she was handling it better. She still wore her winter cloaks and scarf that covered her face, but other than that, she looked beautiful. Even if her face was a bit pale.
They continued to play in the snow and mess around.
When it was almost four o'clock, the girls went inside to prepare for the ball. Leaving the guys to stay outside and have fun.
When, however, it was six-thirty, the guys could not play any longer and had no choice but to prepare for the Yule Ball. Harry puts on his robes and quickly straightens out his hair and tries to look presentable. Harry gives a sigh and heads out to the Great Hall.
Thankful, Professor McGonagall pulled the champions aside beforehand and told them they were going to be meeting in the Entrance Hall for some instructions and to prepare with their dates.
Harry straightens his dress robe and quickly exits out the Slytherin Common Room. He waves goodbye to Blaise and Tracy, who enter the Great Hall.
Harry enters the Entrance Hall, where Cedric, Fleur, and Victor Krum were standing. Roger Davies, the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain, was standing next to Fleur and was doing his best not to drool over Fleur. He wasn't even trying to keep his eyes off Fleur, and being blunt about starting at her. It seemed he had little control over himself. Harry was interested in knowing why Fleur took the Ravenclaw Quidditch Captain to the ball.
Viktor Krum was wearing a Scandinavian Dress Robe that had black dress shoes, black pants but a red winter robe. A red cape was hanging off his left shoulder. He was standing straight and tall, yet it was clear he was a bit nervous. Cedric was wearing a yellow dress robe that seemed to have match he's house colors. He was standing tall with some pride and arrogance to him. Fleur Delacour was wearing a french light blue dress robe that showed off her perfect slim body off. Roger Davies wearing a dark blue dress robe, was doing all he could not drool over Fleur Delacour.
Cho Chang wasn't there yet, nor was Daphne. Clearly, both girls were doing their best to make themselves look presentable before arriving. Krum's date also hadn't arrived. This was a curious state of affairs, as it had the entire school, all three schools wondering who Victor Krum was taking. It did create a bit of a gossip about who was Victor Krum's date.
Harry's attention was taken to the arrival of a girl walking down the stairs. It was Cho Chang. She looked eloquent and beautiful in a white Asian style dress robe. Her hair wasn't down and hanging loose like it usually would be. Instead, she put it in a bun and kept her hair back. Cedric walks to her, and she was putting on a smile for him. Harry, however, could see she wasn't so thrilled about being with Cedric. Still, she was putting up the part of being his date.
The doors from the Slytherin entrance open and Harry turns to see a gorgeous girl. He blinks and rubs his eyes to be sure he was seeing who he thought he was seeing.
It was Daphne. She was wearing a green dress robe, yet she seemed to have done something that made her look more magnificent than usual. Her hair was typically tied in a ponytail, and it was hanging loose with a sleek and shine to it. Her dress robes showed off her perfect slim body with her breast that was in excellent shape. She gives Harry a smile as she walks up to him. Harry smiles and knew it wouldn't be wise to dwell on the girl he couldn't take to the ball with. Tonight it was about him and Daphne. He had to give Daphne a good time. It wasn't just the House of Slytherin's reputation on the line. His own house, the House of Potter reputation was on the line.
The only person who hasn't arrived was Krum's date.
Harry stood with Daphne, who was trying her best not to glow.
"You look amazing," Harry whispered into Daphne's ear. She smiled at Harry's word.
It suddenly dawns on Harry why Daphne took four hours to prepare. She was doing all she could to look marvelous.
Victor Krum suddenly walked towards the stairs to greet a girl who just stepped down. Everyone turned to look at the girl who was wearing a maroon dress with flawless hair and a smile that seemed to be proud of her appearance.
It was Granger.
However, it didn't look like Granger at all. For one, her bushy hair wasn't all over the place. Instead, it was straight and seemed to shine in the light. Even her buck teeth seemed to be perfect. She no longer had that beaver smile; instead, her teeth were straight and clean.
Granger had undergone a fantastic transformation.
Granger walks up to them, and Daphne's face turns into a sneer as Granger stood next to her.
It was no secret. No one in Slytherin could tolerate Granger. Harry and Daphne were no exceptions. Granger was a know-it-all and loved correcting everyone and tried to force people into thinking she was right all the time.
Granger lost her smile and quickly moved near Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang to stay away from Harry and Daphne. She eyed them carefully, and she knew there was no love between Gryffindor and Slytherin. Even though Harry was speaking about improving relations between the houses, Gryffindor and Slytherin tend to stay at odds with one another.
Victor Krum seemed to have noticed what was going on and had a confused look on his face as to why Harry and Daphne were giving Granger a cold murderous glare.
"Good, you're all here." Professor McGonagall said as she walks up to them. This caused Harry and Daphne to break eye contact with Granger. "We're about to begin. Now, as tradition stands, the four of you have to begin the opening dance of the Yule Ball. But before that, you'll be allowed to eat dinner. Keep in mind dinner will only happen for thirty minutes. Refreshments will be given throughout the ball, so you'll be able to enjoy yourself. Also, I believe I don't need to remind you to behave. You represent your schools, and you must be on your best behavior at all times."
They all nod their heads in understanding. Professor McGonagall quickly lines them up before she opens the door allowing them to enter.
The moment people saw Hermione Granger walk in with her arms around Victor Krum, many girls, including those from his little fan club, sneer at Granger and look on in disbelief. Many look like they wanted to throw garbage at her. Even Pansy Parkinson, Draco Malfoy's date, looks like she wanted to throw something at Granger. She looks around her to find something to throws at Granger before she settles in and throws Granger a look of disgust and malice.
The Champions were guided to the head table where the Headmasters and Headmistress were seated. Dumbledore and Madame Maximoff were clapping politely while Karkaroff was putting his hands together, but it was clear he wasn't even trying to clap. Ludo Bagman was wearing a customize purple dress robe and had a large smile on his face. If anything, Bagman looked like he was having a good time. Barty Crouch, however, wasn't present. Instead, Percy Weasley was sitting down next to Bagman. Percy for once was wearing decent robes instead of his normal average looking robes. His normally curly red hair was sleek back with a bit of a shine on it.
"I have been promoted," Percy said with a smug look on his face as he looks at Harry. The way he spoke sounded as if Percy was just declared as the Ministry of Magic. "I am now Mr. Crouch's personal assistant."
"If you're his assistant. Then where is your boss? He's supposed to be here." Harry said coldly.
"I'm afraid Mr. Crouch isn't feeling well. Hasn't been right since the Quidditch World Cup ever since he found out his own house-elf ran amuck. Dismissed her right away, disgracing him the way she did. He's been overworking since summer. The Quidditch World Cup and the Triwizard Tournament. I'm sad to say he isn't as young as he used to be. The stress has been getting to him. Though I'm very much pleased to know he still has his brilliant mind. Even sick, his mind still is on work and making sure everything for the tournament is in order. He knows his work is being properly attended by a reliable individual." Percy said in a pleased voice.
"Not going to say anything me being in the tournament?" Harry said with a smirk on his face. Harry reaches for his goblet and drinks from it. Percy's face turns into a scowl.
"I still find it hard to believe you found your way into a tournament. You broke a dozen rules to enter. If what my older brother Charlie said was true, that you handle yourself spectacularly during the First Task, which I doubt, as you no doubt had helped, I think the Judges only showed you favoritism because of your fame. I heard Karkaroff only gave you four points, which shows your performance only to be terrible and pathetic. You won't get away with favoritism in the Second Task which, I will be personally, judging, and making sure you get the marks you rightfully deserve." Percy declared.
Harry looks at Percy with a hard cold look. The Champions and their Headmasters could see there was no love lost between these two as they were speaking back and forth.
Harry's face grows into a smirk. "Artemis sent me some pics of her. I must say, even when she's pregnant, she is still gorgeous. I don't think I've ever seen a witch like her glow in motherhood. Perhaps your mother can take some lessons." Harry said with a smirk.
Daphne's face broke into a smile. It was no secret that Percy Weasley desired Artemis Wynter more than any girl in his life. She rejected him for many reasons. He was poor. Had poor manners. Was uptight about rules and regulation more than life, and didn't get along with other people. He talked to her like she was his property and not a person. He had a sick obsession with her and tend to stalk her. Did his best to make Harry's life miserable, which made her upset and angry. He didn't care about her feelings or dreams. Wanted her as a trophy wife.
Harry could go on, but needless to say, Percy Weasley was distraught that Artemis Wynter was going to be having a child and got pregnant only a month after graduating from Hogwarts.
"Yes, I was most shocked… to hear she was pregnant. She refuses to say who is the father of her child. No doubt, she was raped by a lowlife. Had she been with me, I would have made sure she would be a proper housewife," said Percy.
Now that Harry thought about it, Molly Weasley, the mother of the Weasley children, didn't work at all. She stayed at home all day and cleans their home and fix their meals. Not a very good example of a witch.
Olivia Wynter was one Chief Healers at Saint Mungo's and sat on the Sanctum Board of Healers, which was the highest position for Healers. She didn't use her husband's name and connections to get on the board, she earned it. Olivia has been recommended by countless healers to sit on the board for her skills and knowledge in the healing art. Olivia Wynter was well-liked and respected in the Healing Community and has been asked to go abroad to other regions to help their healers. Artemis was following in her mother's footsteps because she respected her mother and admire what she did. Artemis said her mother may have been strict as she was growing up, but each lesson help shapes her into being a good young woman.
Olivia Wynter and Molly Weasley were two different people. Harry didn't know why Molly Weasley didn't get a job and help the Weasley's income to give their children better school supplies and robes. It was like she was under the impression that the husband was supposed to do all the work. Olivia Wynter never asked Samuel to pay for her way. The only time Samuel would do something like that, is if it was necessary.
Artemis Wynter was the same as her parents. She wouldn't let herself be spoiled off someone else's money. Even the dates Harry took her on, she rarely allows him to buy things she wanted. The few exceptions were the drinks and meals, and that was only a couple of times. Other than that, Artemis paid her own way.
Harry stares at Percy and for the first time, finally understood why Percy was so obsessed with Artemis. He wanted a girl to be like his mother. The perfect trophy wife would be at home all the time cleaning and cooking and taking care of his needs. It was the complete opposite of Artemis Wynter, who was adventurous, ambitious, open-minded, and seemed to enjoy life to the fullest. No wonder why those two couldn't get along.
"Artemis is very pleased she's going to be a mother. She hasn't decided on a name yet, but she knows if it's a girl, her name will be Athena." Harry said with a smirk.
Percy sneered as he looks at Harry. That ugly scowl found its way on his face as he stares into Harry's face.
"Pork chops," Dumbledore said, breaking the silence and allowing food to appear on his dish.
Harry grabs his menu and looks at it.
"I can't stand him," Daphne said as Percy was ordering his food and trying to engage in a conversation with the other champions and trying to appear more 'proper' ish' as he was sitting down. "All he cares about is rules. If he can't understand why Artemis doesn't like him, then he'll be alone for most of his entire life."
"Did you hear his girlfriend broke up with him? Artemis let slip to Clearwater that Percy was badgering her at work and wouldn't leave her alone. It's also starting to get really creepy as he keeps popping up at her job to speak to her. Artemis is complaining loudly, and it's freaking her out." Harry said in an undertone so the others wouldn't hear.
"I knew he was obsessed, but this is too much. Any idea on how to stop this sick obsession." Daphne asked.
"The only real option is for Artemis Wynter to find a husband. Even that is doubtful that Weasley will stop. In his world, Artemis Wynter is meant for him, even though she despises him. I think that's one reason why she wanted to have a child so soon because it would deny Percy Weasley any shot he would to be with her and deny him the right to any of her children." Harry said. He looked at the menu and was having a hard time deciding between the salmon or steak. Both sounded delicious, but in the end, he chose the steak. As fish wasn't something, he was feeling at the moment.
Daphne ordered a shrimp cocktail and was enjoying herself as she dips her shrimp into the cocktail. Harry was cutting his steak when out of the corner of his eye he spotted the most hideous dress robes he's ever laid eyes on. It almost looks like a sixteenth-century dress robe for a witch. He looks up and could see a red-haired boy with a nasty sneer on his face as he was looking back at Harry. Harry nearly burst out laughing at the sight. He manages to keep his lips together from bursting out so everyone in the Great Hall could hear him, but his lips did release a small sound of laughter that caused some people to look at him.
"What?" Daphne asks.
"Weasley," Harry said simply. Daphne turns to follow Harry's gaze, and she nearly burst out laughing. She manages to contain herself as she kept her lips together, yet the sound of small laughter seemed to be released from her lips. She was doing all she could not burst out laughing.
Harry looks up and could see Percy was looking at his brother with a look of horror on his face. He straights up and refused to look at Ron's direction again.
"I wish I brought a camera," Daphne said as she tried hard not to laugh out loud. Her face had broken into a smile, and fits of giggles still escape as she attempts to control herself.
"You should have brought your sister, she would be perfect in teasing him," Harry suggests referring to the youngest Greengrass. Astoria Greengrass had the tongue of humiliation. Making sure that the person walked around in shame.
Daphne broke into a smile as she thought about her sister teasing Ron Weasley and his dress robes.
They continue to eat in silence. Conversation rarely picked up. Roger Davies and Fleur Delacour were talking, well more like Fleur was talking, and Roger was doing his best not to drool. Hermione was trying to teach Krum how to say her name, which was slightly amusing in the first place. Cho Chang, for one, didn't look like she was enjoying herself. She would look over at Harry with pleading eyes to take her away from Cedric. Cedric seemed oblivious to the looks Cho Chang was giving Harry. He ate his meal in silence with only one hand.
Harry paused as he looks at Cedric and Cho carefully. Cedric was only using one hand to eat and drink. Everyone else using both hands. Harry suddenly realized, where Cedric's other hand was. He was trying to fondle with Cho underneath the table. No wonder why she looked so uncomfortable. His hand must be really close to her pussy. She seemed to be squirming in her seat as she attempted to brush his hand aside. She also wasn't eating as much as she should have been.
Harry looks at Dumbledore, who smiles at Harry, but Harry darts his eyes to Cedric and Cho, and Dumbledore follows his gaze. Dumbledore lost his smiles as he quickly seemed to have registered what was going on.
"Mr. Diggory," Dumbledore said in his grandfatherly voice. Cedric snaps his head in attention, and Cho let out a small sigh of relief. "I trust you're enjoying yourself," Dumbledore asks kindly.
"Very much, sir," Cedric said. However, it was no secret he was disappointed he was caught. He brought both his hands up on top of the table as Cho looks at Harry and mouths 'Thank You' to him.
"Do eat up before your dinner gets cold," Dumbledore chirped. It was clear there was a warning in his voice as Cedric nods his head and turns to his meal.
Cho Chang clearly didn't want to be Cedric's date, but her friend put her into this position. Cho would look at Harry with eyes that said she instead be sitting next to him. She returns to her meal, and every so often, she would look at Harry. She didn't talk to Cedric or engage him in conversation. She would either look at her meal or stare at Harry. Eyes that pleaded with him to take her away.
With dinner finished at eight o'clock, everyone got up and went to dance floor where, on a temporary stage, a group of three wizards; The Weird Sisters, who were dressed in robes with holes and rips in them making them look like a magical version of a punk-rock group, took to the stages and began to start a song.
Harry offered his hand to Daphne, who accepted it as he leads her to the dance floor. Victor Krum did the same for Hermione, but Roger Davies seemed to of had a hard time getting his brain to work, and it took him a moment to take Fleur's hand to the dance floor. Cedric offered his hand, but Cho Chang hesitated. She gives one look at Harry with pleading eyes as if to stop this before she sighs and takes his hand. The champions all got on the dance floor, and as soon as the first melody took off, Harry places his right hand on Daphne's waist and cups her left hand in the as he starts to dance. He made sure he looked her in the eye as they dance.
It wasn't so bad, as Harry was leading, and he and Daphne were smiling as they dance around. Victor Krum and Hermione Granger were also dancing. This was slightly amusing, seeing how Victor Krum was six feet tall, and Hermione Granger was five foot five. Yet Victor Krum was able to move gracefully with Hermione as his partner. Roger Davies, who was having a hard time not staring at Fleur, was also doing fine. Though he would occasionally step near Fleur's toes. Cedric and Cho were doing fine too. Cedric had a large smile on his face as Cho, who was putting up a smile, was merely doing so for public appearance.
Soon everyone started joining them. Couples stepping onto the dance floor as they dance around. Harry could see Cho now looked extremely uncomfortable and was now having a silent battle with Cedric, who was cupping her ass and touching her breast every chance he would get. She would use her hands to slap his hands away and return to dancing.
Harry felt sorry for Cho for having such a terrible partner. She looked like she wanted anyone else to be her partner.
Harry was enjoying his time with Daphne as the two fo them dance across the dance floor. There was no trouble or problem, so they were able to move forward without difficulty.
After two hours of dancing, Fleur Delacour got fed up with Roger Davis and left him. Fleur started dancing with some of her friends from her school. Victor Krum and Hermione Granger seemed to be having a good time. They were still dancing and look very, much happy. When Harry looked over to Cedric Diggory, he was now dancing with a different girl, one of Cho Chang's friends as Cho Chang was nowhere to be seen.
"Let's take a break," Harry said as he was starting to feel sweat come off his brow. Daphne herself was panting and looked very hot. She nods her head, and they quickly navigate to the seats where other couples were resting. Daphne sits down as Harry went to get the punch. He immediately grabs two goblets and fills them up before walking back to Daphne. He sits down and offers her one. She takes it with a smile and drinks.
"Want to go outside?" Harry asked as he sets down his finish goblet. Daphne nods her head. They walked outside, and they could see the courtyard had undergone its own magical transformation. Hedges of magical shape beings were dancing in place. A fountain had been set up shooting water as snowflakes were falling down gently. Needless to say, it looks like the picture of a Christmas carol. A magical Christmas carol.
They walked and quickly came sight to Professor Snape and Headmaster Karkaroff, walking towards them. Karkaroff looked concern deeply. Several students were also walking back as if trying to hide their shame.
"Mr. Potter, Miss Greengrass," Snape said the moment he stops in front of them.
"Professor," They said together.
"Not planning anything, are you?" Snape asks.
"We're just walking. It's getting hot and crowded inside, Professor." Daphne said honestly.
"Do behave, and enjoy yourself," Snape said. With that being said, Snape walks past them with Karkaroff on his heels.
Harry spots a bench and sits down with Daphne beside them.
"Wonder what is bothering them," Harry asked as he watches Snape and Karkaroff goes back inside.
"Must be important if they want to speak in private," Daphne said.
Harry puts his arms around Daphne and embraces her into a hug. She puts her head on his chest and sighs with a happy thought underneath her eyes. She closes them and just let herself go. For the moment, all that matter was this moment.
"Harry," a female voice said as Harry and Daphne look up to see someone standing there. It was Cho Chang. She still looked magnificent as she did when she entered the Great Hall. Yet she was clearly alone. None of her friends nor Cedric Diggory was in sight.
"Cho," Harry said in surprise.
"Can I join you?" Cho asks.
This was a surprise.
"You mean like you want to be my double date?" Harry asks slowly. Cho Chang nods her head quickly. Most girls would have found it repulsing to be a with a guy who was with another girl on a date. Yet she didn't seem to care at the moment.
Harry looks at Daphne, who was equally confused.
Daphne sighs as she sits upright.
"I'll go to bed," Daphne said.
"Daphne," Harry began.
"You gave me a wonderful night. But it's clear Chang wants to spend time with you as well. I don't do third wheels. Give her a magical night, rub it in Diggory's face. Besides, you may not have noticed, but Tracy and Blaise have already gone to bed. I bet Tracy is waiting for me to tell her what a gentleman you've been. I spent two hours dancing with you, give her the rest of the night. Just make sure you make it up to me later." Daphne said. In saying that, Daphne kisses Harry on the lips and begins to french kisses him. Almost as if she was trying to rub it in Cho's face that she kissed Harry first.
After she broke the kiss, she got up and went back inside. Harry sighs as he scoots over and pats the seat allow Cho Chang to sit next to him. The moment she sits down, she turns sideways and lays down with her head on Harry's lap. She brought her feet up and holds them up as if trying to keep warm.
"I take it Cedric is an ass," Harry asked.
"Very much so. I never wanted to be his date in the first place. He's got a horrible reputation with girls. I know he's very much well-liked, but he goes through girlfriends like candy. I couldn't eat either with his hands trying to penetrate my dress and finger my…." Cho began but couldn't finish.
"I notice. I'm glad Dumbledore quickly caught onto what I saw when I directed his gaze to you." Harry said.
"Thank you," Cho said.
Harry reaches up and brushes her bangs away from her face and moves it slowly behind her ear. Cho Chang reached up and grasped Harry's hand. Harry runs his fingers back and forth on her tummy in a way that made it seem like he was tickling her.
"If I had to guess, by the way, you're looking at me, you wanted to be my date," Harry said.
Cho nods her head. "Huh-uh, I've developed a crush on you. I also hear you're into older witches." Cho said.
"You have a crush on me?" Harry said in surprise.
"Started last year. During our Quidditch match. It was the first time I really got to see you up close instead of watching you from afar. All I could think about was how incredibly handsome you were. Last year, you reformed the Slytherin Quidditch Team brilliantly. You seem to win with skills, talent, and teamwork more than Marcus Flint's way of cheating. Did you see what happened to me three years ago in the Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin match?" Cho asked.
"I don't think I was on the team, and Percy had gotten me in detention. So no, I didn't." Harry said.
Cho lets go of Harry's hand allows him to put his hand on her tummy. She moves her hand to her face, and almost as if she was tracing an invisible line, she runs her finger on the side of her face. When she finished, she went down to grasp Harry's hand.
"We were down eighty to twenty. It was my first year as a Seeker, yet I manage to spot the snitch. I went after it, hoping to catch it. Just as I was about to catch it, Flint had a beater's bat and slammed into me, hitting me in the head with the beaters bat. I fell and broke several bones in my body. Needless to say, we lost as we didn't have a reserve Seeker, and I couldn't resume play again. I was in the healer wing for a couple of days getting healed. No one blamed me, but playing with Slytherin at the time was always dangerous. I learned that the hard way." Cho said.
Harry knew Flint was a dirty player, but to directly seek to harm another player was uncalled for. It what the pathetic and worse kind of players do. Those with no real skills of their own. Harry tightens his hand with Cho's hand as if trying to reassure her that he would never hurt her.
"Ever since you came to Hogwarts, there have been many rumors surrounding you. Ron Weasley does his best to slander you in the darkest of ways. Yet every year, we hear your heroics and charisma that tells me you're a good person. During our Quidditch match last year, I was trying to catch the snitch to impress you." Cho said.
"You wanted to impress me," Harry said with a grin on his face.
"Yeah, I wanted to show you I'm a good Quidditch player too. Also, throw a damper on your perfect record. That match sort of made me develop a crush on you." Cho said.
"Want to explain why?" Harry asked.
"Well, for one, you showed the school that you care about winning with talent more than cheating. Injuries have also stopped, and people don't have to worried if they're going to end up in the healer wing by playing Slytherin. Though next year I'm going to show you that you're not going to win so easily." Cho said.
Harry gives a soft laugh as he heard this.
"We'll see," Harry said.
Cho smiles, and to Harry's surprise, she moved his hand up to her breast. Harry moved his hand away, but Cho held firmly.
"Go ahead," Cho said.
Harry shouldn't. For one, it was a dangerous line that would have been crossed. However, the urge to do so was hard to resist. Harry slowly opens his hand and then grasp her breast. Cho moans as Harry begins to hold her breast firmly in his hand.
"Are the rumors about you and Artemis Wynter true?" Cho asks.
"Which ones?" Harry asked. However, Harry saw out of the corner of his eye a couple of students were heading their direction. Harry removes his hand from her breast and sits Cho up. She looked surprised for a moment before he wraps his arm around her and allows her head to rest on his chest.
"What are you…" Cho began.
"We're no longer alone," Harry said.
Cho's eyes open slightly, and she nods her head in understanding. She snuggles and cuddles on Harry's chest.
"So is it true you and Artemis Wynter got together sexually in your second-year?" Cho asked.
"No, Artemis started that rumor mostly to get Percy Weasley off her back," Harry said.
"Are you plotting to rule the Magical World?" Cho asked.
"I'm more interested in finishing school at the moment. I also don't want to deal with any sort of conquest. Too much paperwork." Harry said.
"Have you've ever been with a girl sexually?" Cho asked.
"Yes," Harry answered truthfully.
"I should have expected that. I was hoping your answer was no. I've never been with a guy before. Though I suppose this night is good as any to lose it." Cho said.
Even though Cedric was sexually harassing Cho earlier, it was clear he made her wet and damp for someone to take her.
"You sure?" Harry asked.
Cho nods her head.
"Why me?" Harry asked.
"I've been dreaming of a night like this with you since last year," Cho said.
"Let's not rush into anything," Harry said as he tried to regain some composer. "If you still want to when the ball is finished, I'll give you a night to remember. But first, let's go back inside and dance a bit. I do want to dance with you." Harry said.
Cho smiles as they got up and walked back inside.
They walked back inside, and the Weird Sisters were playing a slow tone that allowed the few couples that were remaining to slow dance. Harry looks inside and could see instead of hundreds of students earlier, there seemed to be only forty left. Victor Krum and Hermione were slow dancing and one of the few that remain. Cedric Diggory was with one of Chang's friends and was slow dancing. His hands firmly rooted in her ass. Fleur Delacour was nowhere to be seen. Nor was her date Roger Davies. It was clear that the union was over. Neville and Lily were still slow dancing. Harry could see Neville was careful, and he didn't want to get roasted. Ron Weasley was nowhere to be seen.
"It seems Diggory is all over your friend," Harry said as she led Cho to the dance floor.
"Marietta. I don't know what she sees in Diggory, but if she wants to spend the night with him, I don't care," said Cho. Harry places his hand on her lower back and holds her waist, and the two start to slow dance. Harry was nearly five foot, seven inches. Cho was clearly five foot five inches. She wasn't wearing heels either. Well, not high heels but somewhat regular dance heels.
Harry looks a the time and could see it was already past midnight. The ball would be ending soon. Cho reaches for Harry's hand and takes his hand until she lowers it on her ass.
"What are you doing?" Harry asked.
"Diggory is looking at us. I want him to see you claim me. I want him to know tonight, I'm sleeping with you." Cho said.
Harry said nothing as he gives her ass a tight squeeze. Harry looks out of the corner of his eye and could see Diggory wasn't too pleased with Cho allowing Harry to squeeze her ass.
"You sure you want to do this with me?" Harry asks Cho.
"Please. It's all I could think about. Just once, I want to have a magical night with you." Cho said.
"You wish you could be my date and that you could have walked beside me and stay with me all night, don't you," Harry said.
Cho places her head on his chest. She continues to move slowly to the beat.
"I do," Cho said.
"You're going to need change clothes and to take the anti-pregnancy potion," Harry said as he whispers in her ear.
Cho leans up and whispers back.
"I'm already on it," Cho replies.
Harry was surprised. He didn't think Cho would be on it. Though if he had to hazard a guess why.
"Is it because you were afraid Diggory was going to rape you?" Harry asked in a low voice, so no one would hear him.
Cho nods her head.
"So you want a night with me. Does this mean you'll be coming to my dorm?" Harry asked.
"Do you know any other place where we could go?" Cho asks.
No. Harry realized. He didn't. Filch would most likely catch them, and they would be in so much trouble.
"Go to your dorm. And get a fresh pair of change robes. You're going to need it." Harry said.
Cho nods her head and stands on her tippy toes and kisses Harry.
"I'll meet you in the entrance hall," Cho said. She quickly walks out, and Harry smiles. Harry walks over the punch and quickly pours himself a drink. He also poured one for Cho and was half wondering what he was getting himself into.
A night he was going to thoroughly enjoy, he told himself.
Assuming Professor Snape wasn't going to catch them. The moment Snape finds him with Chang in his bed, both were going to get into so much trouble. Chang would lose so many house points and earn herself a month of detention for being in the Slytherin House. It was common knowledge that no student was allowed to be in another house that wasn't their own. Harry wished another room in the castle would let Harry be with Cho without the fear of getting caught.
Harry grabs his goblet and fills one up for Cho. He walks into the Entrance Hall, and barely ten minutes went by when Cho comes back with a bag over her shoulders.
Harry offers her a goblet, and she takes it. She quickly takes it and drinks from it. Harry takes her hand and leads her to a not so standard route, but to the Slytherin Dungeons. When they reached the entrance, Harry spoke the password, and the door slides open. To Harry's delight, no one was in the Common Room, and it was clear everyone was in bed. It was late, and most people weren't even up. Harry quickly went down the boy's corridor until he reaches his dorm and opens it. To his relief, Blaise was sleeping. Harry could see him in his bed, sleeping. His dress robes were tossed on top of his trunk messily. Harry walks in with Cho behind him. Harry grabs the curtains of his four-poster bed and throws them up to hide Cho and what he was about to do tonight.
Cho puts her bag down in the corner and immediately starts undressing. Harry follows suit and undress.
When she was done, she stood before Harry completely naked. Harry remember Draco saying Asians were too skinny and flat. Meaning they didn't have the body of a proper girl. However, Cho had a great body. Tone and slim. Even her breasts were larger than Harry had assumed. They weren't as big as Artemis' gorgeous melons, but they were big enough to have Harry fondle them. Harry guess they were a large B, maybe a small C.
Harry climbs on the bed with Cho joining him. They start kissing before Harry falls down on top of Cho. She spreads her legs to allow Harry to enter her. Cho reaches up and holds Harry back to keep him on top of her.
All Harry knew was, as he kisses Cho on the lips, he wasn't going to get much sleep tonight.
Author Notes: I'm half wondering if I should write a Harry Potter/Cho Chang fanfic. I am a fan of this pairing. As I believe Harry and Cho would make a great couple due to the fact they have so much in common. However, for this fanfic, it will remain Harry and Lily, and they won't officially get together until next year. Won't say when next year, but they will get along. Harry's also a bit of a playboy that would make both James Potter and Sirius Black beam with pride over this. Suggestions are welcome if you guys think I should do a Harry/Cho fic let me know. I do get one in mind.
