Magical Origins
Year 5: The Prefects
Voldemort sat in his chair as Lucius Malfoy stood before him. Lucius bows then straighten himself up. Voldemort's hand was a copy of the Daily Prophet.
'Blanche Attempts to Discredit Harry Potter!'
Voldemort didn't read the article but knew Potter didn't get his wand snap like he wanted. That wand that bested him, it left him with questions on just how powerful Potter was and how he was able to hide his powers. Was he genuinely destine to destroy him?
"Report," Voldemort said in his high cold voice.
"Potter brought in the French Minister to vouch for him that he was in France during the times of these attacks. They gave sworn statements by the French Minister's and Nobles, and Potter was able to get all charges dropped against him." Lucius said.
"What of his wand? What is his wand?" Voldemort demanded at once, as his mind went back to Potter's wand, destroying his own.
Lucius pulls out a parchment. A copy of the Ministry of Magic wand collection.
"Fourteen inches, Willow, Unicorn Hair," Lucius replied.
"You must think I'm in the mood for jokes, Lucius," Voldemort said in a soft and dangerous voice.
There was no way this wand was Potter's wand. Just hearing the wand specs only, told him this was a very weak wand.
"I assure you, my Lord, this is the copy of Potter's wand measurements taken from the Ministry," Lucius replied.
"Then he must have used another's wand. He wasn't about to risk his wand get snap. I'll admit, he's… intelligent. Have your son shadow and follow Potter. I want him to report everything to you. When he reports to you, you report to me, is that understood." Voldemort orders.
"Yes, my lord," Lucius said with a bow. He stands up and looks like he wanted to ask something.
"What?" Voldemort hissed.
"It's nothing personal, my lord, it's just… wouldn't Severus be better? He does have the skills to…" Lucius began.
"Severus cannot. Dumbledore's intervention prevents him from doing so. Your son has befriended him these past four years. Have him continue to befriend him and tell me what his strength and weakness are," said Voldemort.
"Yes, my lord," Lucius said as he bows and turns to leave.
Voldemort twirled his new wand in his hands and knew if Potter was indeed the one destined to destroy him, then he was in trouble. He should have killed Potter when he had the chance. When he was bound to the statue. Now his wand was destroyed, and he was more vulnerable than he's ever been.
What if Harry Potter had the power to truly vanquish him?
No, he had insurance in place. His Horcrux would protect him. Should he move them?
No, there was no need. The defensive was absolute. Even though Dumbledore may suspect and knew much about him, but he had everything secure. Lucius may have been clumsy in losing the Diary, yet he didn't feel it because he didn't have a body. He would know if his Horcruxes were in danger.
No, the mystery he had to solve was what made Harry Potter powerful enough to defeat him twice. His wand was destroyed, and the killing curse which he perfected for years, was overpowered. Then there was that raw power he felt from Potter. It was more powerful than anything he's felt. Snape could only report so much about the boy. Harry Potter kept to himself and hang out with a few people. Artemis Wynter being one of them. He did spend some time with Daphne Greengrass and Blaise Zabini, yet not even they knew much about him. For Harry spent most of his time with a mudblood, Liliana Morris. A mudblood who specializes in fire magic.
Voldemort would have to observe Harry Potter this year. He still had people loyal to him in the school.
Harry woke up with a slight hangout. He didn't exactly drink any alcohol or beverage, but he did feel tipsy. He had a lot of rice juice that was excellent in restoring magical energy, but it also causes drowsiness. Drink too much, and it could mimic a person feeling tipsy or getting them feeling like they were drunk. While one cup was usually preferred, it was a popular drink at parties due to one could get drunk without getting drunk.
Harry sits upright.
He wasn't really hungover, but he did have a slight headache from all the rice juice.
Lily didn't wake up, but she rolls over, and Harry looks at her.
Lily had slept naked beside him.
Harry leans over and shakes Lily awake. Lily moans a bit before she slowly opens her eyes awake.
"How much did I have to drink?" Lily asks.
Harry smiles and pulls her up. He sits her on his lap as she wraps her leg around his waist. Harry holds her by her small tight ass. She holds her around the neck and smiles at him. Harry kisses her, and Lily immediately starts grinding her hips against this cock.
Harry was half determined to take her right then and there.
His cock, however, slips out of the hole in his boxer, and immediately, it touches Lily's cunt. Lily rotated her hips and paused as Harry's tip slowly enters her. Harry and Lily paused at the feeling. They didn't move for a while. Harry grips her ass tightly as his cock slowly begins to push itself deeper inside of Lily. He was slipping further inside of her until he touches her hymen.
Harry holds Lily's ass tightly and wanted nothing more than to take her right then and there.
Lily rocks her hips, she was doing what she felt was natural. She tightens her pussy muscles that cause her pussy to grip Harry's cock tightly. Harry looks into Lily as she was moving her hips back and forth, moaning as she does so.
Harry couldn't hold it back anymore. He couldn't stop it. It was too much for him. Harry starts cumming inside of Lily's pussy.
Lily presses down to take as much as she could as Harry's cock goes back and touches the tip of her hymen.
Harry continues to release shot after shot into her pussy.
Lily removes herself from Harry's cock and stands up. Cum starts to drip down the side of her thighs. Lily puts her finger in her pussy and feels Harry's cum inside of her. Yet Harry didn't deflower her.
Harry gets up and walks up behind Lily and wraps his arms around her. He kisses her neck, and she smiles at him.
Lily breaks Harry's hug and quickly enters the bathroom.
Harry turns to his wardrobe and quickly pulls out his robes as he got ready for the day. Harry grabs his wand and waves it over himself. He could feel his body becoming refresh and clean. While this was possible to clean without a bath, it wasn't a good idea to use every day.
Harry puts on his robes and goes downstairs. He sits at the dinner table and grabs his breakfast. As he was eating his eggs, he notices several letters on the table. He immediately spots one with his name on it. Harry reaches up and grabs his letter. Harry recognized it at once that it was from Hogwarts.
Harry grabs it and immediately realized it was thicker than usual.
Harry sets his fork down and opens it.
His fifth-year looks like it were going to be busier than usual. Harry opens the letter, and as he unfolds the parchment, something fell out with a clang on the kitchen dining table. Harry picks it up and stares at a large 'P' that was emitted on the badge. The words Hogwarts which was written above it, and 'Prefect' were written below it. It was painted green with a silver 'P.'
Harry was surprised by this. He was already the Quidditch Captain of the Slytherin team. He thought someone else would get the badge. Like Malfoy. If he had to hazard a guess, Dumbledore caused Snape to change his mind.
Harry sets the badge down and looks at his book list.
He only needed two books this year, The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 5, by Miranda Goshawk and Defensives Magic and Practice by Alexander Bourne.
Other than that, he didn't need anything. No dress robes or anything.
He would have to replenish his supplies, such as spare parchment and quills and ink. He would also need new robes. His robes were getting smaller. His shins could be seen. The question was, who would go to Diagon Alley with them. The adults were super busy enough as it was. It would be hard to find time to get to Diagon Alley.
Harry sets his letter down and turns to the sound of someone entering the kitchen. Harry could see the adults were all coming down, and they were sitting down.
"Hey, Harry," Artemis said as she kisses Harry on the lips. Mrs. Weasley had a disapproval look on her face at the sight of Artemis kissing Harry. "What's this?" Artemis asks as she picks up his badge. "Congratulations, Harry! You're a Prefect!" Artemis said the moment she saw the large 'P' on the badge.
The other adults realized what was just said and were clapping Harry on the back.
Lily walked down and seemed to have realized Harry was made Prefect.
She grabs her letter and opens it. A light cling could be heard on the kitchen counter as everyone to Lily, who holds up a badge of a scarlet color with a golden 'P' on it.
"Lily too… that's two Prefects!" Isabelle said.
"You two must be really model students," Sirius said. "James and I never got the badge. We spent too much time in detention. Lily and Moony were the ones who got the badge."
Lupin smiles. "I think Dumbledore wish I would exercise some control over James and Sirius. Needless to say, I failed."
"Didn't my dad become Head Boy?" Harry asks.
"He did indeed. He really started to shape up in his sixth year. He was determined to impress Lily." Lupin said.
"He must have really like my mom," Harry said in surprise.
"Oh, without a doubt, he was head over heels for your mother. Before they started dating in their seventh year, James was for lack of better word… immature. Yet he was a well-known playboy." Lupin said.
"It got hilarious to see who of us could nail which girl," Sirius said with a laugh.
"If he was such a playboy, what made him go for Lily Evan?" asks Lily.
"It was shocking to me too. I didn't think he would stop sleeping with girls. Yet in his sixth year, he didn't sleep with a single girl. He was also shaping up. Lily tends to like mature guys, and James matured much later than we thought he would. She finally agreed to give him a chance in their seventh year. A couple of years later, they were married." Sirius said.
"Doesn't sound romantic," Harry said.
"It wasn't. James had the skills to woo girls, but Lily was immune to his fibbed attempts. It was only after he proved himself to be a mature young man, did Lily agree to go on a date with James." Lupin said.
Harry smiles.
Lily unfolds her letter, and then another light clung could be heard. Lily picks it up, and Harry turns to see that she had been made a Quidditch Captain.
"Two Prefects and Quidditch Captains. This is a cause for celebration." Olivia said with a smile.
Artemis ruffles Harry's head, and she went to sit down.
Harry looks at his letter and could see besides his school books, he had a second piece of parchment with Harry's letters.
This one explains the rules of the Prefects. Basically, he was to keep an eye out for trouble. He had the right to dock points and give detention to any student misbehaving. He was allowed to confiscate items that were not permitted in Hogwarts. His actions could only be veto by the Head Boy and Head Girl or a Hogwarts Professor. They would have a meeting in the first car about their responsibilities. As prefects, they were given their own personal rooms to study and live in within their dorms. The letter also warns being a Prefect wasn't a right, it was a privilege for the students, and if they were found abusing their position, they would lose this privilege. It also gave the password to the Prefect's Bath. 'Ocean Breeze.'
Harry grins, he could get Ron into so much trouble now.
The Weasley's, along with Lucas and Evelyn Pearce, came down and collect their letters. They quickly go to sit next to their parents. Ron comes down, and he grabs his letter. He looks at it and throws it aside. It was clear he was hoping to see a Prefect badge as well. Yet he didn't have one. Hermione came down, and she opens her letter. Her face went from excitement to disappointment.
"Not a Prefect?" Harry said, smirking.
Hermione musters the strength to smile, but she didn't say anything as she sits down and eats her breakfast.
"What are they going to be doing for supplies?" Artemis said.
"We can't all go," Isabelle said.
"The Weasley's can be handled by Mrs. Weasley. They are, after all, her children." Olivia said with a smile. Mrs. Weasley had a nasty scowl on her face at what Olivia was saying.
"I can take Harry and Lily with me. Edward is old enough that he can look after the shop." Isabelle said.
"That would work. I have paperwork at work I need to fill out." Olivia said.
Mrs. Weasley looked like she really wanted to protest. If anything, she wanted to do Harry's shopping. However, she wisely kept her mouth shut.
"I only need some potion ingredients, new quills, robes, ink, and parchments," Harry said.
"Same," Lily said.
"Where is Samuel?" Harry asks.
"He had to go to work early. The Minister passed a new educational decree. He's trying to sort it through." Olivia said.
"What does it entail?" Harry said.
"If the Headmaster of Hogwarts is unable to find a Professor for a subject, then the Ministry of Magic will provide the teacher," Olivia said.
"That doesn't sound so bad. What's the problem?" Harry asks.
"Well, Fudge wanted Veronica Gorlosien to step down so he could enforce this new decree. She refused, she's intent on staying as a Hogwarts Professor. It's creating a loud argument over what should be done. Dumbledore, however, refuses to listen to Fudge, saying Veronica Gorlosien is more than capable of teaching at Hogwarts." Olivia said.
"Who did he want to teach this year?" Harry asks.
"His Senior Undersecretary: Dolores Umbridge," Olivia said.
Harry looks up, she was the witch with the false sweet voice and face like a toad.
"What can you tell me about her?" Harry asks.
"Not much, I'm afraid. She has been with Fudge administration since the beginning of his administration. So just around five years. Other than that, I can't tell you much about her." Olivia said.
"Fudge doesn't strike me as an intelligent type," Lily said.
"He's not. He's the type of person when a problem occurs, he will arrest people just to make it look like he's doing something right." Harry said.
"He also awarded himself the Order of Merlin, First Class," Isabelle said.
"Why?" Harry asks.
"Because he proved Sirius Black innocence and restored House Black to power. He's really smug about the whole affair and claims that he knew from the start Sirius Black was innocence. Despite many pointing out that he was trying to have Sirius Black kissed during his escape." Isabelle said.
"So he makes up achievements for himself to reward himself. Can we revoke his Order of Merlin?" Harry asks.
"We could, however, that will be a long process. Fudge is really clinging to Lucius for favors and protection." Isabelle said.
"Let's eat up and get to Diagon Alley early. It's going to be crowded more than usual." Olivia said wisely.
They finished their breakfast, and before Harry could be taken to Diagon Alley, Isabelle, Olivia, and Artemis were change his appearance so he wouldn't attract people. When they finished, Harry was now with blond hair, and his scar was gone. Isabelle grabs Harry and Lily by the hand, and she disapparates, taking them alongside her.
The trip was uneventful. Because no one recognizes him, they got everything they need without having to wait for crowds. They were right to come so early in the morning. Because just as they were leaving, the lines started to fill up the shops. By the time they were ready to go, Diagon Ally was really beginning to become pack with students and parents.
Harry and Lily retreated to their bedroom.
They put everything in their trunks and return downstairs. Mrs. Weasley had also returned, but she had to get second hand me downs. Fred and George went on their own to collect their school supplies and robes. They came back with a brand new first edition of the books. Ron and Ginny were given second-hand downs that made them look disappointed. Ron especially. He looks at his brothers, the twins for help, and support, but they had disappeared into their room.
Ron wanted nothing more to have first edition books that were brand new like Harry's and Lily's. Even his brothers, the twins, were racking in galleons.
Mrs. Weasley disapproves of how the twins wanted to spend their future. She wanted them to get a job at the Ministry and was urging her husband to set them up with interviews for 'promising' jobs. The twins protested, claiming they were going to open up a joke shop and make tricks and toys instead. Mrs. Weasley would huff and puff, and belittle them in front of everyone, yet the twins remain determined.
Ron would ask his brothers for galleons, but they refused and told him he had to 'earn' his own. Ron was angry, wishing he had galleons to spend for himself instead of getting the second hand me downs from his family.
Olivia had pulled Harry aside and told him about an upcoming event for his fifth year. Career Advice. Where he would meet with his Head of House and discuss his career options. This would happen after the winter break.
Harry never really thought about what he wanted to do after Hogwarts. He might further his education or go for professional Quidditch. He definitely had the skills to go Pro. He was sure countless countries would love to hire him to play for them. Briton was a good team that made it to the playoffs, yet they haven't been in the finals for nearly twenty years. If not, he might stay at Hogwarts as a Professor. He wanted to break the jinx of the Defense position.
Harry would love nothing more than to appear in the Finals of the World Cup and having the crowd chant and cheer his name.
He knew, depending on how well a team played a player who racks in Galleons.
Harry and Lily spend their time in their room reading their new books. Harry was especially reading his new books from Dumbledore. Lily took them and read with interest, and Harry knew she would be practicing these spells the first chance she got.
When dinner time came, they came downstairs to a party to celebrate both of being made Prefects' and Lily being made Quidditch Captain. They had pumpkin pastes, butterbeer, roast hog, wild cranberry, and knickerbocker glory.
The only person who wasn't at the party was Ron, who Harry was quick to the pan because he would have stuffed his face like a pig. They were having a good time and enjoying themselves.
"Oh, I can get Malfoy in trouble now. I can't wait to punish him." Lily said with joy.
"I can put Ron in detention for every time he claims I'm a 'Dark Lord,'" Harry said.
Lily laughs at that. She knew how much Harry and Ron despised one another. Almost as much as Malfoy and Lily hated one another. Though Ron was more one-sided with his false accusations. He never claims anything true.
Ginny was wearing what appeared to be her best dress. Though it was hideous as Harry looks at it. She seemed to be flirting with him, batting her eyelashes, and trying to appear as if she was cute.
Harry ignores her. He had absolutely no feelings for the redhead. Instead, he spent his time with Artemis and wonder if she got a party too when she was made Prefect. They did have a celebration when she was made Head Girl.
Hermione Granger put on a brave face and pretend to be happy, but Harry could see she was disappointed she was not made prefect.
The party went on for some time until it was time for bed.
Harry and Lily went to bed feeling better than they had all summer.
They continue to feel good about themselves as they slept.
The following days had their fun. Ron was so hungry he was now attempting to break into the kitchen. He really wanted to eat their food. It finally got funny when Ron broke down and cried because he was so hungry. However, Harry was no fool. He knew if he let Ron eat their food, they would have none left. Ron would have devoured everything in the cabinet and leave nothing left for the others.
Finally, the day came for them to return to Hogwarts.
They all left at ten o'clock and went to the station. Though Ron did create some problems when he shoved Lucas and Evelyn aside to get downstairs. This created a shouting match between Ruby Peace and Mrs. Weasley, who was defending her son, and trying to claim that he was her responsibility. Yet Ruby Pearce did not like her son harming her children.
Ron would sit in the corner in a foul mood as the two parents shouted. Olivia then told her that her family would no longer be welcome in the household. That they've overstayed their welcome.
In the end, Mrs. Weasley took her children off first, only with Ron and Ginny as the Twins quickly apparate to the station on their own.
The rest of them got ready to go.
Sirius hands something to Harry in his hands.
"Here," Sirius said as he hands Harry a mirror.
"What's this for?" Harry asks.
"This is a two-way mirror. James and I use to use them when we were in detention. I have the other one. I'll be keeping it on me at all times. This is a way for you to reach me in case you have trouble at Hogwarts. Letters are no longer safe. I have no doubt your mail is going to be watched. Both by Death Eaters and the Ministry. I still send you letters, of course, however, I will not be sending you any information in them." Sirius said.
"I take it the Ministry is going to be eyeing the owl post," Harry said carefully.
Sirius nods his head. "And the Floo. Even though they need a warrant to do so, it doesn't mean they're still going to do it. Fudge is paranoid that Dumbledore is really after his job. He is going to be checking all communication going in and out of Hogwarts. Anything that he can use against you and Dumbledore, he will be quick to jump on it. Keep your head down this year. Don't do anything that will give them a reason to go after you."
"Don't worry. I've always been a model student. I've never been to detention." Harry said with a grin as he puts the mirror in his trunk.
"Lily would have been proud of you," Sirius said with a smile. He was, of course, referring to his mother, Lily Potter.
They all gathered their things and went to the fireplace in the living room. The adults all couldn't come. Only Sirius and Tonks were able to come. The rest had to get to work. They said goodbye to the kids before they left.
Sirius, because he didn't really have a job, and instead work with the House of Lords in passing and redefining laws. Tonks had taken some time off from her Auror work.
Mad-Eye was also coming, for additional security. Given his paranoid, he insisted on coming.
Tonks didn't appear as herself. Instead, she took the appearance of an elderly witch as if she was someone's grandmother. Both Moody and Tonks were the first to arrive. Then Sirius took the kids through the floo to platform 9¾'s. They arrive to see the train wasn't as crowded as usual. Given that it was ten o'clock and the train didn't leave for an hour.
Harry hugs Sirius goodbye and turns and enters the train. He could see Mad-Eye standing by the entrance with a stern look on his face.
Harry and Lily grab their trunks and quickly enter the train and promptly go to the first compartment. They sat down, waiting in the first compartment. They quickly get changed into their school robes, putting on their Prefect and Quidditch Captain badges.
Harry and Lily were talking about their defense classes. One by one, the new Fifth Year Prefects came in. Ernie MacMillan and Hannah Abbott came in representing Hufflepuff. This was no surprise, seeing how they were model students and always took the lead for Hufflepuff students of their year. Daphne Greengrass soon appeared, and she immediately grabs her seat next to Harry. Then Padma Patil walks in. Then to Harry's surprise, Neville Longbottom walks in looking nervous. Then a Ravenclaw student, whose Harry name was Anthony Goldstein walks in.
"You're Prefect Neville?!" Harry said in surprise as he looks at his Gryffindor friend.
"Surprised me too when I got the letter. Gran was proud. She said I'm finally living up to be my parent's son." Neville said in a small voice.
This wasn't the first time he spoke about his grandmother in a soft voice. From their past discussions, Neville said his grandmother was very strict.
"Do me a favor. Keep Weasley off my back," said Harry.
Neville could only nod his head and look uncomfortable with being here.
The train started to move, and they all look at each other, wondering who was the Head Boy and Girl.
The compartment door opens, and two students, a male, and female, both with an 'HB' and 'HG' on their chests walk in.
"Good, I trust you're all the fifth year prefects." The Head Girl said. They all nod their heads.
"Show us your 'Prefect' badge. In the past, some students have attempted to pretend to be a prefect, and they weren't," said the Head Boy said. Harry and Lily already having their badges on, the others pulled out their Prefect badge and shows them to the Head Boy and Girl.
"Good, now the letter explains most of your responsibilities. If you are caught abusing your duties, then you will get your Prefect badge removed. It is also the tradition that the Fifth Year Prefects escorts the First Years towards the dorm. You all have been given the passwords to your common rooms. It is your responsibility to handle any misbehaving students. As well as assist the First Years." The Head Girl said.
"If you have any trouble or need assistance with your Prefect duties, do not hesitate to ask us. We are more than happy to assist you." The Head Boy said.
With that said, they were dismissed. Harry and Lily get up with the rest of the fifth year prefects and walks out of the compartment with their trunks in tow. Many of them were more interested in returning to their friends.
For Harry and Lily, they were trying to find an empty compartment. Yet with the train already underway, all the compartments were filled up. They look around, but they couldn't see any empty compartments. They did pass Ron and Granger… who were once again, arguing and fighting. Harry couldn't stop it as he stops by. He took ten points from each of them and put them in detention for 'disturbing the passengers.' Hermione started blaming Ron again for getting her into trouble and for having detention.
Harry and Lily left and no sooner had they taken three steps, Ron and Hermione got into it again.
"If they are going to do this all throughout the school year, then this is going to be easier than I thought," Harry said as he walks down the corridors.
With no compartments available, Harry and Lily spotted one with a single Fourth Year sitting down, ready a magazine 'The Quibbler' upside down. She had blond hair and several strange objects hanging off of her. She was also wearing a bizarre pair of glasses.
"Might as well. Everyone else is full." Lily said as they enter the compartment.
"Hello, Harry Potter." The girl said.
Harry stares at her in confusion, wondering how she knew he was walking in.
Harry said nothing as he sets his trunk on the rack. He opens Hedwig cage, and she hops on his arm before he sets her up on the seat where she was resting quietly. Hedwig was a good owl. She always cleans herself well, never took more than her share. Not to mention, she understood Harry a great deal, and Harry loves his owl more than anything. She was, perhaps, his first true friend.
"Fudge must hate Dumbledore right now," Harry said as he sits down.
"You mean the fact he was unable to enforce Educational Decree number Twenty-Three?" Lily said.
"Yeah, I have no doubt Fudge will attempt to seize control Hogwarts from Dumbledore. He's foolish if he thinks he can just do this without there being consequences," said Harry.
"What do you mean?" Lily asks.
"Well, my vassals and I suspect Fudge is going to be attempting to take power away from Dumbledore this year. We suspect Fudge is going to be passing more and more educational decrees to seize power from Dumbledore." Harry said.
"He does realize that will ruin him, and he'll end up getting kicked from office," Lily said as she looks at Harry with a hard look.
"Fudge isn't intelligent. Nor is he bright. He's a spineless coward who relies on people with gold to guide him. You should have seen him at my hearing. The moment we arrived, he lost all strength to continue onwards. It got even worse when the French Minister of Magic arrived. He has no backbone or spine whatsoever." Harry said.
"Now, I do wish I could have seen that," Lily said with a laugh.
The train continues to move onward. Harry and Lily said nothing more, but they open their trunks and pull out their book of shadows. They immediately dove in. Harry's familiar, the water sprite was moving around in excitement. Lily apparently had a familiar as well. A fire salamander that was on her shoulders. Fire Salamanders had body temperatures between one to a thousand degrees. They were almost impossible to touch by hand as they could either leave burns, to melting through your entire limb as if it was smelting ores. Lily being a fire elemental, was more than capable of touching and handling her familiar.
Which was something not even Harry would attempt, even with his water powers. They rode in silence. Unsure of what the new year would bring them.
