Magical Origins
Author Notes: So, I went back and fix the issue with Cedric Diggory's death in chapter 69. If there is any mention of Cedric death in past chapters, let me know which chapters have them, and I'll fix it; please enjoy the chapter.
Year 5: Scars of the Past
News finally arrived after two days of Arthur Wesley in Saint Mungo's. He would make it, and that was the first time anyone felt any sigh of relief.
For Harry, matters couldn't have been worse. The Ministry that night lock down the entire second level once word reach there was an intruder, and a ministry employee had nearly been killed on sight.
Fudge tries to shake the whole thing off, but what he didn't account for was the Daily Prophet learning of this serious security breach within the Ministry of Magic. The Daily Prophet ran a full article on this matter of how an intruder infiltrated deep inside the Ministry and nearly kills a Ministry Employee before disappearing into thin air without anyone in the Ministry able to catch the intruder.
Fudge did what he knew best, he appears before the press and talks about how 'new' security measures were being taken given recent events and how the Ministry would be looking for the intruder with the promise he would bring the intruder to justice.
Today Harry would be going to Saint Mungo's with Olivia and Artemis. Lily and Granger would be coming along too to see Arthur Weasley. Mrs. Weasley had gone ahead and was staying by her husbands' side after she had been cleared to visit him in the hospital.
Bill and Charlie Weasley would be taking their younger brothers minus Percy so they could see their father.
Harry's never been to Saint Mungo's, so this was exciting for him and scary. He could only imagine what the press would tell the public once they learn Harry Potter was spotted in Saint Mungo's.
Olivia being a Head Healer, was able to walk past security without being question by the security guards.
They made their way to the fourth floor, where Arthur Weasley was being held under spell damage care.
Harry walks towards the Fourth Floor, where Harry ran into someone he didn't expect to be visiting.
Cornelius Fudge.
Clearly, Fudge was caught off-guard at running into Harry Potter of all people in Saint Mungo's.
"Harry Potter," Fudge says softly as he looks at Harry Potter.
Harry stares back at the Minister, no longer hiding his dislike of the Minister.
Percy stood behind Minister looking like his usual self, but looks at Artemis with lust and jealously in his eyes. Artemis didn't bother to hide back her disgust upon the sight of Percy Weasley.
"I take it you're here to put Harry Potter for intensive spell damage, Olivia?" Fudge says, turning to Olivia.
"You would be mad to think so," Olivia says, not bother to hide her disgust and dislike in her tone while speaking to Fudge. "I'm here on other business, none of which are your concern."
Fudge stands up straight, holding his composure.
"You will regret not listening to your betters, Olivia," Fudge warns. "the day will come when you will regret crossing the Ministry."
"That day has already come," Olivia says coldly. "I remember the horrors of the last war Ministry, and if you cannot see the signs war is coming, then I fear for all our future."
Fudge gives Olivia a sharp look as he looks at her coldly.
"I have contacts and advisors who say otherwise," Fudge says coldly. "that boy you serve is only a liar who spins tall tales to increase his fame. Why I wonder how we would be if his parents hadn't been…"
"You will hold your tongue Cornelius!" a sharp voice suddenly barks as everyone turns to see an elderly witch walking forward with a turkey vulture hat and a green handbag.
Lady Augusta Longbottom walks forward with Neville behind her. Her commanding presence and sharp deminer cause whatever courage Fudge had to falter upon the elderly witch.
"I will not stand here and listen to you insult the dead," Lady Longbottom barks. "James and Lily Potter gave their lives to save their son, and countless others die at the hands of the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord. Do you support these actions of the past war, Cornelius? Is that why you are talking and associating yourself with known Death Eaters?"
Augusta Longbottom didn't bother speaking in a soft voice. Rather she barks this statement out so the entire floor could hear her. Patients and Healers stop what they were doing to turn and look at the confrontation going on.
"Of course not!" Fudge barks back loudly.
"Then don't go insulting the dead of the last war Cornellius," Lady Longbottom barks. "you are nothing but a sniveling coward afraid of his shadow and fearful of those who are clearly your better. I suggest you handle the breach within the Ministry quickly before others began to see you for your incompetence!"
Fudge says nothing as he walks past Olivia without a second and walks off, knowing he couldn't risk getting into a confrontation in such a public place.
Percy follows Cornelius with his nose held high and looking like an ass as usual.
"Harry Potter," Lady Longbottom says once Fudge had left. "Neville speaks highly of you. I'm honored to meet you."
Harry looks at Lady Longbottom, unsure of how to respond to this and unsure what she was after.
"I think Neville as a friend," Harry says as he shakes her bony hands.
"Just like your fathers!" Lady Longbottom says with a smile. "James Potter and my son were good friends both at Hogwarts and after. Not as close as he was with Sirius Black, but the friendship was there."
"Why are you here, Neville?" Hermione asks at once.
Harry slaps the back of Hermione's head, knowing her desire to have all the answers couldn't stop herself from rudely asking the most straightforward question.
Hermione grumbles as she looks at Harry in anger.
"Have you not told your friends what happen to your parents?" Lady Longbottom asks her grandson.
Neville ears turn pink and mumble something under his breath, unable to meet his grandmother's gaze.
"You should be proud!" Lady Longbottom says loudly. "what your parents did is nothing short of pure bravely worthy of Merlin First Class!"
"Perhaps this isn't the place," Harry says quickly, trying to end Neville's discomfort.
Everyone turns to look at Harry, who suddenly realizes he let out he already knew the fate of Frank and Alice Longbottom.
"When did you find out?" Olivia asks Harry at once.
Harry sighs, knowing he couldn't hide this no longer.
"I found out last year," Harry admits. "During the incident with Barty Crouch's disappearance by Hagrid's Hut, I was waiting in Dumbledore's office when I stumble upon his pensive. I witness the trail of Bellatrix Lestrange and her comrades for the crimes they committed against Neville's parents. Dumbledore made me swear not to tell anyone, though."
"Why don't you tell us what happened," Olivia says to Harry.
Harry sighs, knowing he had to let this out.
"You really need to watch your mouth Granger," Harry says. "some matters are better left not being known. Frank and Alice Longbottom were two respected Aurors in the wizarding community. Shortly after Voldemort's downfall on that Halloween night, a small group of Death Eaters had captured Frank and Alice Longbottom for information regarding the Dark Lord's whereabouts. They refuse to say anything, so they were tortured with the Cruciatus Curse to the point their minds broke. They are nothing more than empty husks of their former selves. That's why Rabastan, Rodolphus, and Bellatrix Lestrange were sent to Azkaban, along with Barty Crouch Jr."
Hermoine says nothing as tears fall down her face as does Lily.
"They are one of my primary patients," says Olivia. "I do what I can for them, but as Harry said, their mind has been broken – quite possibly beyond repair. They don't recognize Neville, their son, who visits every holiday."
"Make sure you don't tell anyone," Artemis hisses at Hermione.
"I won't," Hermione says in tears.
"Make sure," Artemis snaps.
"Hermione Granger," says Lady Longbottom.
Hermione Granger looks at the elderly witch.
"Neville says you have quite the mouth, and your incredibly noisy," Augusta Longbottom says coldly.
Hermione flushes a shade of pink, knowing the accusations were correct.
Neville says nothing not sure of how to handle the situation of his parents to others.
"Come along," says Olivia as she leads her group down the corridor as Neville walks off with his grandmother to go visit his parents once more.
"I didn't know," Hermione says in tears.
"Neither did I," says Lily.
Harry says nothing, knowing this hard to talk about to others. Harry never really talks about his own nightmares about his parent's death. Harry would have to talk to Neville again soon about the reason why Harry is friends with Neville and why Harry cherish his friendship.
They enter the ward for Arthur Weasley to see his family around him.
"Harry Potter," says Arthur Weasley. "I understand I have you to thank for saving my life."
Harry didn't say anything as he looks at Arthur as he tries not to remember the fact during his dream, he was the snake.
"Did any of you run into Percy?" Harry asks the Weasley's.
"He's here!" the twins shouted.
"Was," says Artemis. "He was here with the Minister of Magic. They just left after trying to have Harry submitted for Spell Damage."
Mrs. Weasley tries to hold back her tears at her 'favorite' son wouldn't be here during the time when the family should be together.
"Tell us about the snake, dad," Fred asks at once.
"DIdn't see who attack me," Mr. Weasley says quickly in a blatant lie.
"Did you say You-Know-Who has a massive snake, Harry?" George says, turning to Harry.
"Enough," says Mrs. Weasley. "What have you been doing to yourself, dear?"
Mrs. Weasley looks at his arm that had new wrappings with fresh blood leaking out.
"Well, Healer Augustus Pye thought a muggle healing technique would work," Arthur says sheepishly.
"Excuse me," says a healer. "Healer Wynter, the Board wants to see you."
Olivia raises her eyebrows, wondering why she wasn't informed before coming in, but she turns and walks out, heading towards the Board.
Lily grabs one of the potions on Arthur Weasley's bedside and looks at it carefully.
"YOU TRIED TO SEW YOURSELF TOGETHER!" Mrs. Weasley shouts in an uproar.
Harry and Lily knew how this would go, so they quietly slip out with no one watching and start walking the hallways. Artemis follows them, making sure to keep an eye on Harry.
"Neville," Harry says, looking at Neville sitting down with his grandmother talking to one of the healers.
Harry walks forward and sits next to Neville.
"Harry," Neville says, looking at Harry.
"You never ask why I became your friend," Harry says as he leans backward-looking upwards.
Neville flush as he looks downward.
"I'm grateful, you were one of my first friends," Neville says.
"In truth, Neville, you remind me a lot of myself before I discovered magic," Harry says. "before I discover magic and this world, I was unsure of myself, didn't know where I belong, and I lack confidence. You are braver and stronger than you realize, you only need to see it in yourself. You're also a good person."
Neville looks at Harry as he gets up and walks up towards Lily.
Harry approaches Lily and Artemis when Olivia marches forward, looking pissed off more than her encounter with Fudge.
"We're leaving," Olivia says simply.
No one asks her why they were leaving after arriving so soon but follows Olivia back to Grimmauld Place, where they enter to learn what got Olivia so upset.
Once they got back, Olivia informed everyone she had been sacked by the Board. They told her she had been officially dismissed due to poor maintenance and illegal seizure of potion and ingredients.
Everyone knew Fudge had a hand in this matter and force the Board to sack Olivia on false grounds to further discredit Harry's name.
Given how Fudge is making the war against Voldemort even worse for them to survive, they knew it was no significant loss. They were getting ready to go underground, so it was all the more reasons for Olivia to prepare for the long years ahead. Knowing things were about to get more and more intense.
Harry sits down, wondering how things were going to go for now and if he was going to endanger his family. He never told anyone that he was the snake and how he enjoyed what he was feeling during the night.
The front doors open, and an elderly man walks forward wearing some strange robes as he approaches the group.
"Who are you?" Artemis demands at once. "How did you get in this house?"
"So sorry," says the man. "I know it's rude to come in unannounced. Given the situation you're in, I couldn't send an owl informing you of my arrival. The Ministry is watching every method of travel, and give your mother's recent sacking at Saint Mungo's is a clear sign the Minister has lost his mind."
"Who are you?" Harry demands, pointing his wand at the stranger.
The man looks at Harry and smiles.
In that split second, Artemis and Harry's wand were in the wizard's hand, with magical chains wrap around the two.
"Who says these old tricks are outdated," the stranger says with a smile.
The communication could be heard as Sirius and Mad-Eye comes in to see what the commotion going on in the living room.
"Who are you?" Sirius demand.
Moody places his staff on Sirius's chest, stopping him from doing anything.
"I see you haven't lost your touch," Moody says simply.
"Yes, well, you haven't forgotten who trained during the first war against Voldemort, did you Ally-boy," says the stranger.
"I'm surprised you're still alive," says Moody.
"I'm surprised Dumbledore is still alive," says the stranger. "we all live long lives with regrets."
"Everyone, this is Newt Scamander," Moody says, looking at the elderly wizard.
"Sorry about that," Newt says as he undoes his magic on Harry and Artemis. "I'm not very social and have terrible people skills. I always found a more reliable connection with animals. Come on, Pick."
Harry turns to Newt's pockets to see a bowtruckle in his pocket.
"Oh no," says Newt. A niffler pops his head out before leaping out of Newt's pocket and starts making a mad dash into the kitchen to take anything shiny he could find.
Newt pulls out his wand and summons his niffler back to him.
"Sorry about that," Newt says, looking out of place. "much like his grandfather, he's too curious for his own good. Can't help it if there's anything shining lying about, so he had to grab it with his paws."
"I remember the Niffler lesson in my fourth year," says Harry. "very good at finding treasure."
"Indeed, some Niffler's like this one can't resist anything shiny," says Newt.
"Why are you here, Mr. Scamander?" asks Samuel.
"It's just Newt," says Newt. "Dumbledore sent me here to help Harry in learning Occlumency and learning to defend himself."
Harry looks at Newt in surprise.
"Where is Dumbledore?" asks Samuel. "he hasn't been seen for since we informed him of Arthur Weasley's attack."
"I have an idea," says Newt. "he's talking to Grindelwald in Nurmengard Castle."
Harry's ears perk up upon hearing the name of the previous Dark Lord in wizarding history. Second only behind Voldemort himself.
"Why is he talking to Grindelwald?" Harry asks at once.
"They're friends," Newt says simply. "You didn't know that? Before the war, the two were friends but had a parting of ways that force them to fight one another. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald ending the war. Grindelwald made a blood pact with Dumbledore at the end of the war to remain to imprison within Nurmengard Castle for his crimes. Dumbledore visits him once in a while, speaking and playing wizarding chess. If anyone knows how to handle the situation with Voldemort, it would be Grindelwald."
"Will Grindelwald help us?" Artemis asks with concern.
"Only from the shadows," says Newt. "he will not leave Nurmengard. In the meantime, I have experience fighting Dark Lords and Dark Wizards. I shall pass my knowledge onto you, Harry Potter."
Harry looked at Newt Scamander and didn't know what to say at this moment. Newt Scamander is one of the few wizards Harry respected in the wizarding world.
Harry lies on his back completely drain after his brief duel with Newt Scamander. The man may have long been past his time, but he was quick and powerful that Harry had a hard time keeping up with his spellcasting abilities.
"I need a minute," Harry breathes as he lies on his back.
Newt sits down, drinking some butterbeer.
"Dumbledore tells me you're a star pupil at Hogwarts," says Newt.
"Because I get good grades?" Harry says. "that's expected of me."
"Yes," says Newt. "but he says you also have a kind and gentle heart who befriends others when others wouldn't."
Harry looks at Newt rethinking of his statement.
Harry had friends others respected, but he also had friends others didn't befriend.
"I'm an outsider," Harry says simply. "people expect me to play a certain part, so I play that part."
"Like a true Slytherin," Newt says with a smile. "Make sure you cherish your friends, but don't put them in or yourself in danger."
Harry didn't say anything as he lies on his back, breathing heavily over his own defeat.
"What was Grindewald like?" Harry asks Newt.
"Grindewald, he was different from Voldemort, far different," Newt says. "he wanted to bring Wizardkind out of hiding and have them rule the world over muggles. His argument made it difficult for many people to disagree with him, which is why he had so many followers. Even to this day, some still believe in his cause."
Defiantly different from Voldemort. Voldemort was a psychotic killer who didn't care for life other than his own.
"We'll continue your lessons tomorrow," says Newt.
Harry nods his head as he sits upright and stands.
After dinner, Harry retires to his room, his body sore from his duel with Newt Scamander. The moment Harry collapse on his bed, Lily climbs in bed and places her hands on Harry's chest as she emits a yellow glow.
Harry could feel his muscles relaxing and healing after the beating he took from Newt Scamander. Harry looks at Lily as she heals his sore muscles.
Harry raises his hand and moves her hair bang out of her face as he looks at her. Lily looks at Harry, and no words were needed to describe how much they love one another.
Harry sits upright and kisses Lily on the lips, who kisses him back with the same amount of passion. Lily quickly embraces Harry, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as he grabs her legs and pulls her closer to him.
Harry holds Lily tightly as the two began to kiss with no intention of stopping. Months of teasing one another had finally reached its peak as Harry could no longer hold back.
Lily breaks the kiss gasping for air, as she pulls her robes upwards. Harry could no longer resist, as he grabs Lily's breast and sucks on her nipples while playing biting her at the same time.
Lily holds Harry in her arms, allowing him to continue to suck on her breast.
The two quickly work to get out of their robes as they both knew full well what they wanted.
Harry lies Lily on the bed as she looks at him, no confusion or hesitation in her eyes.
Harry kneels between her legs, looking at Lily in admiration.
Lily's body had grown magnificently. No longer scrawny, her body shows excellent development as Harry looks at her breasts. They weren't the same size as Artemis's melons, but they were magnificent none the less as Harry grabs her breast.
Lily keeps her legs spread as she grabs Harry's forearms as Harry slowly begins to penetrate her body. Harry pushes deeper, trying to be as gentle as possible as Lily holds Harry tighter.
Harry suddenly pushes deeper, feeling her hymen tear, causing Lily to cry out over the loss of her maiden. Lily grabs Harry closer as the two begin their love session.
Lily looks at Harry and smiles, both knowing this was only the beginning of their relationship for years to come.
Harry bends down and kisses Lily as she embraces him. Lily wraps her arms around Harry's shoulder as her legs around his waist, encouraging him to continue.
The two continue all night, Harry took in all the past sex he's done to give Lily the greatest night she would ever remember.
