Year 5: A Vile Witch

After Harry's article came out into the public, it caused a mixed reaction by the wizarding community. Many wrote letters stating they didn't wish to believe You-Know-Who had risen to power once more. The key message in all the letters he's received was the fact no one could deny the fact that dark things were happening, so they were going to take precautions.

The best reaction had to come from the Fudge, as he was unable to provide a direct answer to any facts Harry pointed out in his interview. The death of a Senior Ministry official, the disappearance of one of their workers, who still hasn't been reported on as no one has seen or heard from Bertha Jorkins.

Fudge didn't have a straight answer regarding the Mass Breakout from Azkaban. As Harry's memory showed, he warned Fudge of Voldemort's intentions to breakout his followers and recruit the Death Eaters.

Fudge lean heavily on his sources, stating he had experts and trustworthy sources that confirm facts otherwise. The public demanded to see proof that Fudge been claiming he had, but he couldn't provide a straight answer.

The best change came from members within the Circle. With some of the most dangerous Death Eaters now on the loose, causing many members to take their lessons more seriously than usual. There were victims among the Hogwarts students. Many were in Circle who have all lost family members at the hands of Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

The person who had the greatest change was Neville Longbottom. Harry would have thought, upon hearing his parents torturers on the loose, Neville would be scared, and Harry wouldn't have blamed him for being afraid.

Instead, Neville had found a resolve inside of him. Harry was surprised to see him let out. Neville no longer appeared as a shy, nervous boy who couldn't stand in his own shadow. He appeared to be stronger, braver, and has found his courage.

Neville new found confidence also had an impact upon the witches within the Circle as many would look at Neville in a new light. Which was interesting, as most people didn't give Neville a second look before.

Neville mastered every spell Harry and Lily taught the group at a rapid rate. Even Hermione, who generally was a fast learner, couldn't believe the sudden change Neville was showing in his mastering in spell casting.

The Quidditch Session was ruined without Harry or Lily playing. Slytherin had dropped to last place after their second game against Ravenclaw.

On Saturday, the Quidditch games resume after the Professors work tirelessly to repair the Quidditch Stadium Lily had destroyed during the First Game of the session.

Ravenclaw slaughtered Slytherin by a milestone. After twenty minutes of gameplay, Ravenclaw was leading with 260 to 30. Slytherin decided to go back to their old tactics they did under Flint, flagrant fouls against Ravenclaw players.

Umbridge sat at the teacher's stand with the Aurors surrounding her. Every now and then, she would look at Harry and give him a creepy smile as if she was glad he wasn't on the pitch playing. Harry was more than aware of the fact countless professional Quidditch scouts were looking to recruit him to play for numerous professional leagues. His skills as a Chasers were phenomenal. Umbridge had once again found a way to ruin Harry's future by denying him the things he enjoys.

Harry said nothing, knowing after the Quidditch match was over, Montague would get curse by his fellow Slytherin's for failing to secure a win, and to lose in such style.

Gryffindor was also in a tough situation. Ron Weasley was forced to return to the team. With a terrible Keeper and questionable beaters, they were struggling to keep their session alive. The only thing good about the Gryffindor's as they only lost by ten points. The three Chasers, Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet, Katie Bells, were able to keep Gryffindor alive with their amazing performance. The real surprise came when Ginny Weasley caught the Snitch.

Hufflepuff took a devastating blow in a game they should have won. Zacharias Smith, who plays for Hufflepuff, chunk his broom off screaming at his teammates for screwing up a sure blowout.

Even though Hufflepuff won by ten points, the mood in Gryffindor wasn't a happy one. Angelina Johnson didn't look like herself and appeared miserable as the new Quidditch Captain she couldn't make a miracle happen. The odds of Gryffindor winning the Interhouse Quidditch Cup could be the same if Arthur Weasley won the election to become the new Minister of Magic.

Umbridge's presence in the school caused countless students and staff members to hate her on another level. The presence of the Aurors assigned to protect Umbridge from any attack. The Aurors look more like thugs than actually Ministry officials, which goes to show how far the Ministry has fallen.

The mood in Slytherin wasn't all that good, and their chances of winning the Interhouse Cup had drop unless they could defeat Hufflepuff with over three hundred points. They way they were playing, that was unlikely.

The Easter Break finally allowing many students to go home for a week, taking a long-needed break from studying.

Harry and Lily were underneath Harry's invisibility cloak heading to the Whopping Willow to meet Remus Lupin. Samuel's latest report suggested getting the Lycan's at once. Fenrir Greyback now had a horde of werewolves under his command, and they would need the Lycan's to fight them now more than ever. Using the cloak wasn't the same when they first arrived at Hogwarts. Harry had grown a head taller than Lily. He had to crouch low as the cloak was no longer big enough to hide both their bodies.

Harry and Lily arrive to see Lupin standing by the trees, staying out of sight. Harry throws off the Invisibility Cloak stuffing it inside Lily's bag.

"I see your father's cloak is serving you well," Lupin says with a smile.

"Yeah," Harry says. "I'm just glad no one knows about the cloak, or Umbridge would take it for herself."

Lily says nothing, knowing the statement was true.

"Don't be too sure," Lupin says with a soft smile. "Peter knew about the cloak, that means Voldemort will also know."

"How did the potion work out?" Lily asks at once.

Lily had given Lupin a modified Wolfsbane Potion that she called the Moonstone Potion. The potion wouldn't cure Lupin of his Lycanthropy, but rather give him more control of his inner wolf.

"It was a little difficult at first," Lupin says as he smiles at her. "I do feel a sense of calm, but also a bit of aggression. Thankfully, I can change at will now."

"I knew there would be side effects, but I hope you are still yourself," Lily says softly.

"Oh, I am, and I'm not," Remus says, "it's hard to explain, but now is not the time. "shall we meet the Lycan's?"

They nod their head as Harry begins to change into a massive bear. Lupin took a step back, knowing Harry's animagus form was a form of a large cat. The massive bear stood on his forelegs at nearly six feet tall.

"I thought Harry was a saber or a lion?" Remus says, looking at Lily.

"It was, but Harry began to look into how to change his animagus appearance," Lily explains. "Mostly to take on a horde of Lycan's and Werewolves in case."

Lupin looks at Lily before looking at Harry.

"Harry has an unusual list of transformations," Lupin says as Harry grunts in response.

Lupin makes a growl as he begins to change into a werewolf. It took a few moments as Lupin stood before them as a fully grown werewolf.

"Seems the potions did more than merge your wolf personality with yourself," Lily mutters upon looking at the werewolf. In their third year, Lupin had changed into a werewolf. The previous werewolf transformation had the werewolf looking skinny. Though that could have been because Lupin didn't eat very much. Now he was a bit bulkier and far heavier than his previous appearance.

Lupin says nothing showing no signs of hostility towards Lily, who stood near him. Harry looks at Lupin uncertain if Lupin was still in control of himself, or would he be tempted to attack Lily. Lupin didn't say anything as he lets out a howl and moves into the forest.

Harry grunts as he follows Lupin into the forest with Lily beside him. The trio walks into the forests with Lupin walking ahead, having spent many years in the forests when he was a student.

Lily casts her will o' wisp surrounding them, allowing them to see what lurk around them, and above them. Young Acromantula's lived in the branches, where they were safe from their older siblings. Once they got big enough, they would be forced to live on the ground, where the older siblings would bully, or even eat them.

Acromantula's bites had a dangerous venom that causes paralysis to the victims. Acromantula's would then proceed to eat their victims alive without fear of being attack.

The Acromantula's within the forest, hated Lily after she'd nearly destroyed the colony three years prior. She had wandered into the colony seeking answers on the recent attacks in their second year. Aragog wouldn't let her go, as she was a free meal for his children. Lily had to unleash an inferno within the colonel to escape, killing countless Acromantula's.

Hagrid believed Lily overreacted and took Aragog's side when he killed countless of his children. No matter how much Lily told Hagrid that Aragog told his children to eat her, he refused to believe her.

They kept walking, wearing of what lurks within the forest, knowing the Acromantula's control the forest now.

Thye kept walking heading towards the location where Harry and Lily last met the Lycan's, and sure enough, when they got to the near the caves, the Lycan's were seen moving around. Many of them move in the shadows eying the trio carefully.

A Lycan jumps down in front of them, snarling as a warning as Lupin and the others to be careful to approach. Telling them, they were approaching his pack territory.

{I have return, with the werewolf as promised,} Harry grunts to the Lycan.

The Lycan leader sniffs the air as he looks at Harry.

{Your appearance is different, but the smell is the same,} the Lycan says. {How is it that this werewolf takes his form at this time? The circle hasn't appeared in the darkness above.}

{We call it a Full Moon that is seen in the night sky,} Harry says.

{I'm a wizard named Remus Lupin,} Remus says as he begins to talk.

{You are not like that fool, who calls himself Greyback,} says the Lycan. {what can you offer my pack?}

{Freedom,} Lupin says. {our kind is at war, and the one you call Greyback will come for your allegiance to the Dark Lord known as Voldemort. If you refuse, then his allies will come and destroy your pack.}

{They will find we are not so easily killed,} another Lycan boasts as the others give bellows in agreement.

{You offer us freedom,} says the Alpha. {explain.}

{Long has your kind been hunted by wizards for sport,} Lupin says slowly. {though they do this to prevent you from attacking them in turn. We will allow you to right to roam these lands without fear of being attacked, as long as you don't attack the school itself.}

{And the school will give you food,} Harry says in turn. {I know your pack is hungry right now, and you need food. We can help provide your pack with meat.}

The Lycan's all grunt with each other on the idea of having free food.

{What of those 'spider's' you call them?} the Alpha growls. {they have not been removed!}

{Steps have already been taken to eliminate them,} Lupin states. {we're having some of our enemies eliminate them for us. They're going to burn their colony down tomorrow. Which is why we've come here, to get your pack to safety before you get caught in the fires.}

The Alpha growls as he looks at the trio.

{Where are we going?} asks the Alpha.

{In a place where I spent my transformations,} Lupin says. {My comrades and I have made some adjustments for your pack to live there without being disturbed. It's only temporary until we are sure the Acromantula's have been eliminated. We may have to move you elsewhere, depending on the situation of our enemies.}

The Alpha stands tall as he thinks about his options.

{You wish to be a member of the pack, then you have proven yourself,} says the Alpha.

{We should move soon,}Harry says. {we can't be gone long, and we'll have people looking for us.}

The Alpha nods his head in agreement as the pack begins to move through the forest.

"Focus Potter," Snape says in a curl. "I know you've had some excitement going on this week, but that's no excuse to slack off."

Harry's mind had once again came under assault from Snape's lessons. Snape had once again entered Harry's childhood memories, where he witnessed Dudley dip his head in a toilet. Followed by Aunt Marge's bulldog chasing Harry up a tree where he remained until late at night.

Harry says nothing as he catches his breath. Harry didn't understand why he had to put this up, as he and Snape didn't have any chemistry. It made it difficult for Hary to really focus on his Occlumency.

"What was that last memory?" Snape asks coldly.

"Which one?" Harry replies curtly.

Snape holds back his frustration from Harry's lack of respect.

"The one with the man kneeling in the room," Snape asks.

"I hardly see how that's your concern, sir," Harry says coldly.

The man kneeling was Augusts Rookwood, one of the escaped Death Eaters. He had told Voldemort that Avery had been misleading him, and had told him the correct way to acquire the object of his desire.

Sirius reported Avery had disappeared after Harry's dream, leading to the assumption that Voldemort had killed Avery for his failure and misled information. He most likely had been swallowed by Nagini and disgusted in her stomach.

"Do you think these visions you are having make you feel important? Special?" Snape asks, looking at Harry.

"You don't know what I want or what I feel," Harry snaps back.

"Let me be perfectly clear on this Potter," Snape says coldly. "you are neither important or special. It's not your job to find out what the Dark Lord is saying to his Death Eaters."

"Stop assuming like you know me," Harry hiss back at Snape.

Harry knew Snape only saw him as he wanted to see. Only painted him in a picture of how he wanted Harry to appear.

Snape looks at Harry knowing full well they would get at it once more.

"Let's start again, Potter," Snape says as he raises his wand.

A scream could be heard from upstairs, causing Snape to pause as he looks upwards towards the source of the scream.

"What the?" Snape mutters to himself. "Potter, did you see anything unusual on your way here?"

Harry raises his eyebrow at Snape, knowing the time he's been in here didn't matter to what was going on.

Snape says nothing more and takes off towards the source of the scream. Harry pauses as he turns and looks at the pensive, seeing its silvery-white glow. Harry stares at pensive, knowing that Snape had poured some of his own memories inside, and Harry couldn't hide his temptations to see some of Snape's own memories. It was only fair after all the time's Snape's been poking around his head.

Harry turns and follows Snape, knowing that if Snape caught him poking around in his memories, he would murder Harry on the spot.

The screamed and disturbance had caused countless students to the source where Professor Trelawney could be seen by the entrance to the Great Hall clutching a suitcase.

"You- You can't!" Professor Trelawney cries out. "Hogwarts is my home!"

"It was your home," Umbridge says with her lip curl sickeningly upon Professor Trelawney. "until an hour ago when the Minister of Magic sign for your immediate dismissal. Now get out of here, your presence sickens us."

Umbridge didn't move from her spot as she stood there, glaring at Professor Trelawney with a sick look in her eyes. Harry could see Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil crying in each other's arms, as Professor Trelawney was their favorite teacher.

Professor McGonagall walks forward and hugs Professor Trelawney, giving her some comfort from Professor Umbridge. This was most strange, as Professor McGonagall didn't view or respect Divination. She even thought Professor Trelawney as 'odd.'

"Is there something you want to say, Minerva?" Umbridge asks her falsely, sweet voice.

"Oh, there are several things I would like to say to a vile woman such as yourself," Professor McGonagall replies. Causing Umbridge to look somewhat taken back by the Deputy Headmistress words.

"Perhaps you would like to join her, Minerva," Umbridge says softly. "I could easily have you dismissed as well."

"I would like to see you try," Professor Gorloisen says, stepping forward.

Umbridge's face began to falter as she looks upon the Defense Against the Dark Arts Profesor.

"My dear, you do under the power I have invested in me by the Minister of Magic," Umbridge says softly. Umbridge pulls out a piece of Parchment as Filch walks forward as a glorify hound dog and holds it for Umbridge to read as he had a nasty smile on his face.

"Educational Decree number twenty-three," Umbridge began in a loud voice.

"We are more than aware of the Ministry passing these Educational Decrees to suit your sadistic nature," Professor Gorloisen barks loudly. Umbridge's face falters as she looks at Professor Gorloisen. "You need to watch on whose toes your stepping on, some of us – will fight back in a way you can't even begin to imagine, you worthless witch."

Umbridge's face turns from boiling red to plum purple in a heartbeat. She stood there at a loss for words.

"Your opinion is hardly warranted," Umbridge says coldly. "As the High Inquisitor of Hogwarts, I have officially removed Sybill Patricia Trelawney as the Divination Professor of Hogwarts. Remove her from the grounds at once, you don't have any right to deny this unless you also want to be removed."

"No," says another voice as the Great Halls doors open. "but I have something to say on the matter.

Dumbledore walks forward from the grounds as countless students cut like a sea to allow the Headmaster to step forward. He didn't stop until he stood in front of Minerva and Trelawney. He places a soft hand on Trelawney before turning to face Umbridge.

"Professor McGonagall, would you kindly escort Professor Trelawney upstairs to her quarters?" Dumbledore asks kindly.

"Back upstairs?" Umbridge repeats in disbelief. "Professor Dumbledore, need I remind you under Educational Decree number twenty-three – "

"You have the right to dismiss my teachers," Dumbledore says in a booming voice. "You do not, however, have the right to banish them from the grounds. That power still remains with the Headmaster."

Umbridge looks at Dumbledore in disbelief as she tries to wrap her head to think of a response to this and to counter Dumbledore's words. Finally, she gives Dumbledore a smile.

"For now," Umbridge says softly. "What do you plan to do once I appoint a new Divination teacher that will need Professor Trelawney's quarters and classroom?"

"That won't be necessary," Dumbledore says with a smile of his own. "I've already found a replacement to take over Divination."

"You found? You found!" Umbridge says as if she was croaking. "Professor Dumbledore need I remind you under Educational Decree Number Twenty-Two – "

"The Minister of Magic has the right to appoint a teacher at this school if, and only 'if' the Headmaster is unable to find one. I'm delighted to say I've found a suitable replacement."

The sound of hoof steps could be heard as all the students turn to see a Centaur walking inside the Great Hall. Umbridge's face turns to pure horror upon the sight of the Centaur.

"This is Firenze," Dumbledore says happily as if he was secretly enjoying Umbridge's reaction. "I think you'll find him most suitable to teach Divination."
