Stuck

I was stuck with Kelly.

Suze had everything she wanted. She was free of me, and her boyfriend had been reincarnated.

But I didn't. Oh, sure, there was something to be said about going to the Winter Formal with the hottest, most popular girl in school, but the truth was, I didn't want her.

She wasn't like me.

For years, my entire life, actually, I went around having no one. Nobody to relate to. And then she came along.

She was perfect. She was beautiful, she was charming, and she was a shifter like me.

It was just too bad she hated my guts.

I probably shouldn't have done what I did when I first met her. Because she'd managed to hold that against me And she drifted farther and farther away from me with every hour, every minute, every second she spent with him.

That's why I tried to get rid of him. By making him live out his days in his own time. But it didn't work. Suze was forever attatched to him. She would never let go.

She had everything.

And I had nothing.

And there was nothing, nothing at all this time that I could do about it, except watch them dance together. And see what they had. And feel the pain, the agony as my heart was ripped to shreds.

Kelly didn't help the situation. All she wanted to do was make out with me.

"Come on, Paul. Quit staring and let's go have some fun. Where's your car parked?" She blinked her eyes up at me. But I didn't fall under the spell that worked on every other guy in school. Because I didn't want her. I wanted Suze. I wanted Suze with all my heart.

And then some.

Which is probably the only explanation for what I did next.

"Kelly, I'm going home. See ya."

Kelly's eyes were wide and her cheeks were red—I'd bet no other boy had ever turned down a make-out session with the Kelly Prescott. "WHAT?" She whined like the baby that she was. "You can't just ditch me!"

I smiled a little, albeit sarcastically. "Watch me."

And then I left.

So. There you have it: my first Mediator fanfic. I wanted to start out with a one-shot just to open the doors for some of my longer and more involved stories, so, again.

Here it is.

R&R, you know the drill, and no flames please. This is my first. Cut me some slack.
