Magical Origins

Year 6: The Slug Club

Lily walks around, beaming and glowing.

Hermione and Ron could practically see she was happy about something.

Clearly, something good happened, but they couldn't figure out what made her so happy she was practically skipping around.

For Hermione, it was nerve-wracking as her best friend was humming and dancing happily.

"What's got you so happy?" demands Ron.

Lavender Brown, Ron's new girlfriend, sits on his lap.

"I'm not allowed to be happy?" muses Lily.

'Something definitely got her happy,' Hermione thinks as this didn't seem like Lily.

"Did you hear about the Slug Club Christmas event?" says Hermione.

"No, I've been busy," says Lily.

"What's wrong with you?" asks Lavender.

"What do you mean?" says Lily.

"You're happy, dancing and singing for no reason. What's his name?" says Lavender.

"You got a boyfriend?!" Ron shouts in surprise.

Lily looks at him before deciding to ignore him.

"You found yourself, someone. I'm so happy," says Hermione.

"Why do you sound so bitter?" asks Lily.

"I'm not. I'm really happy," says Hermione.

"No, I don't have a boyfriend," says Lily.

"Really?" Lavender Brown says with a raised eyebrow.

"I have someone far better than a measly boyfriend," says Lily.

Lily raises her left hand showing off her engagement ring.

Hermione grabs her hand and looks at the diamond ring in shock.

"You're getting married!" shouts Hermione.

Ron practically stands up, throwing Lavender Brown to the ground.

"You're what?!" says Ron.

Lavender stands up, silently cursing her boyfriends' stupidity.

"Who is he?" Hermoine asks at once.

"You'll find out at the Professor Slughorn's dinner," Lily says happily.

Lily sits back down, silently humming as she reads her book.

Ron looks at Lily in shock and horror. Jealousy is written on his face.

"You can't get married," snaps Ron.

"Why can't I?" says Lily.

"You're underage," Ron says simply.

"True. But I turn seventeen this summer, and we decided to get married the day after I turn seventeen," says Lily.

"Are you really serious about this, Lily? Marriage is a big deal," says Hermione.

"I'm very happy with this decision," says Lily.

"Have you chosen your bridesmaid?" Hermione asks at once.

"Hermione," says Lily.

"What?" Hermione says at once.

"Don't ruin this for me. This is my marriage. You're not my mother. I know you fear you'll never get married, but I don't want you ruining my marriage," says Lily.

Hermione's face falls upon hearing Lily.

"What do you mean I'm never going to get married," says Hermione.

"Have you've ever had a boyfriend?" says Lily.

"Of course!" Hermione flusters with her cheeks turning crimson.

"Not counting your little romance with Viktor Krum," says Lily.

Hermione opens her mouth but says nothing.

"I'm in a happy, healthy relationship. I will be working on my wedding, and I don't need you running around like it's your wedding. This is my wedding, so I'll handle my wedding as I see fit," says Lily.

Hermione looks like she is going to have tears.

"We're invited to your wedding, right?" Hermione says at once.

"Don't know. I haven't decided yet. Depends on how my future husband feels about having you in attendance," says Lily.

Hermione felt tears threatening to fall.

The relationship has greatly declined as they continue to drift further apart.

Ron stands there in fury as he can't believe Lily will get married before she graduates from Hogwarts.

Harry sits in the Slytherin's common room, reading.

"Are you okay?" asks Daphne.

"Yeah, why," says Harry.

"Mate, are you sure you're okay?" says Blaise.

"Why are you asking me that?" says Harry.

Blaise, Daphne, and Tracy all look at Harry.

He did not seem like himself.

"What happened?" Daphne says at once.

"Nothing," says Harry.

Daphne bends down and looks Harry straight in the face.

Harry found himself unable to look Daphne in the eye for the first time.

Daphne didn't waste time and sat on Harry's lap. Her firm buttocks rubbing and teasing Harry's groin.

Harry tries to hold himself together as Daphne continues to tease him.

Tracy looks at Harry as he tries to hold himself together.

"What's her name?" asks Tracy.

"Whose?" Harry says, trying to control himself against Daphne teasing.

"You got a girlfriend!" shouts Astoria.

Harry glares at Astoria as Daphne continues to tease Harry.

"What's her name?" asks Daphne.

"Screw this," says Harry.

Harry stands up, causing Daphne to stand looking disappointed.

Harry picks Daphne up, throwing her over his shoulder. He turns marches straight into his perfect dorms.

Daphne whips her hair out of her face as she smiles at Harry's dominant demeanor.

"He's either in the mood or is trying to get us to forget," says Tracy.

"We won't forget any time soon," Blaise says, smiling.

"Most definitely," says Tracy.

"Wait till I tell the school," squeals Astoria.

"Still a girlfriend? Sure he's had flings, but a girlfriend? Who could she be?" says Blaise.

"Fleur Delacour?" suggests Tracy.

"Why her?" says Blaise.

"She's been head over heels since the second task. He could have met her at Hogsmeade," says Tracy.

Blaise looks at her with a raised eyebrow.

"That's unlikely. It's possible someone at Hogwarts," says Blaise.

"Then who?" asks Tracy.

Blaise shrugs his shoulders.

After three hours, Daphne emerges from the perfect doors, nearly swearing and exhausted.

Once in a while, she would tug her robes.

She also had a hard time walking straight.

"Potter really went crazy," says Astoria.

Everyone was at dinner.

"Shut up," snaps Daphne.

"You two were really going at it," says Tracy.

"More like he was trying to fuck me into a coma," says Daphne.

"You passed out four times," says Harry.

"Shut up," Daphne snaps again.

"So, what's her name?" Blaise asks again.

Harry turns sharply to his best friend in Slytherin.

"I'll tell you, but then I'll freeze your nutsack," Harry grins wickedly.

Plenty of guys flinches at Harry's threat. Blaise flinches the worse.

"So you're not saying anything?" says Astoria.

"Why didn't you ask anything when you were in bed with him?" Tracy asks her best friend.

"Wasn't easy. He really was going crazy," says Daphne.

"Can't we just eat dinner?" says Harry.

"Who are you taking for Slughorn's Christmas Dinner?" asks Blaise.

"You'll find out when I attend," says Harry.

"Now I'm really curious," says Tracy.

"Is he taking you?" Astoria chirps happily at her sister.

"Shut up," snaps Daphne.

Harry didn't regret his decision to ask Lily's hand in marriage.

Harry wonders how the school would react to their sudden engagement. Because he's a famous wizard and one of the top bachelors available.

He could already see many witches would be unhappy with his engagement.

It could even affect his relations with Daphne and Tracy. Even Cho could take it hard.

Harry's mind thinks back to when he was lying on Lily's lap and how she pets and messes with his hair.

Even if it was simple, it showed great affection, and Harry loved how Lily messes with his hair.

The little things show their affection and love for one another.

Harry and Draco were in an unused classroom.

"Don't bother doing anything during the holidays. Dumbledore is not here. You best go home and talk to your mother. Tell her that you'll do what you can to protect your family," says Harry.

"You understand, don't you. If I fail… he'll kill me and my family," Draco says tearfully.

"He won't kill you or your family. I know I can't do much, but I'll do what I can to protect you and your family. All you and your family have to do, is continue to act like dutiful servants," says Harry.

Draco looks at Harry tearfully.

Draco had black bags under his eyes. Showing a lack of sleep.

"The next time you are summoned to that little gathering, I want you to inform me," says Harry.

"I can't say anything," says Draco.

Harry holds up a necklace with a medallion.

"I will be able to monitor and watch over you if you wear this. Keep this on you at all times. I will do what I can to help you, Draco. Also, if your family continues to help me, I will promise you that none of you will go to prison," says Harry.

Draco looks at Harry, showing signs of concern.

"This is war, Draco. If you think siding with Voldemort means things will be running smoothly, then you're mistaken. Voldemort cares nothing for blood purity. He doesn't seek to save or purify this world. His only desire is to destroy everything," says Harry.

Draco says nothing as he looks at Harry.

"He's not Grindelwald," finishes Harry.

Harry turns and walks away.

Draco looks down at the medallion.

Draco wonders how his life got so screwed up.

Christmas had finally arrived.

Harry wears his brand new dress robes, getting ready for the Christmas party Slughorn is hosting.

Instead of wearing black or emerald robes, Harry chose to wear dark blue robes. A reflection of his element and the winter, he felt happy about his engagement with Lily.

Harry walks to the Great Hall, getting ready to meet Lily in the front.

The two would walk in together and surprise everyone with their announcement.

Harry stands by the entrance, waiting patiently.

"Harry m'boy!" booms Professor Slughorn.

"Hello, Professor," Harry greets politely.

"Don't you want to come inside?" Slughorn says joyfully.

"I'll join in a moment. I'm waiting for my date," says Harry.

"Don't take too long now. I got several people dying to meet with you! You didn't come to any of my early groups!" Slughorn says sadly.

"I'm sorry, Professor. School and real life have taken up my time. That's why I made sure to attend today's Christmas dinner," says Harry.

"Understandable! Still, I'm glad you could make Harry m'boy!" says Slughorn as he walks away.

Harry looks up the stairs where he knew Gryffindor would come down, and sure enough, a witch walks down in a beautiful white dress robe.

It took Harry a few moments to realize the young witch walking down was none other than Lily.

Lily looks absolutely stunning.

Lily beams as she approaches Harry.

Her engagement is proudly on her finger for all to see.

Harry walks up to her and nearly melts upon seeing her beauty radiate.

"If only we did this during the Yule Ball," Harry mutters to Lily.

Harry found himself having trouble speaking at the moment.

"That would have been a scandal," says Lily.

"This is going to be a bigger scandal," says Harry.

Lily smiles as she looks at Harry.

Harry offers his arm as Lily takes it gracefully.

The two of them enter the Great Hall, where they can see a large crowd had gathered.

All eyes had turns to see Harry and Lily enter the Great Hall together.

It wasn't like the Yule Ball, but still magnificent in its own way.

Lily walks with Harry gracefully as the two approaches Professor Slughorn and his guest.

"Harry! Also, Miss Morris! Welcome!" Slughorn booms happily.

Harry could see many highly influential witches, wizards, and Slughorn's current favorites.

Hermione Granger, being there with a seventh-year Gryffindor boy. McLaggen.

Daphne and Tracy were also present, but they didn't have dates other than Blaise hanging around.

"So you're the prize potions pupil, Professor Slughorn has been raving about," says a wizard.

"Miss Liliana Morris is a genius potioneer!" Slughorn booms happily.

"Potter," Lily corrects Slughorn.

"I'm sorry," says a witch.

Harry recognizes her as Gwenog Jones, the Captain of the Holyhead Harpies.

Lily takes her left hand and reveals her engagement ring.

"I'm soon-to-be… Mrs. Liliana Potter," says Lily.

Everyone fell silent as Lily announced her engagement.

To Harry Potter of all people.

"Merlin's beard!" Slughorn breathes in, trying to regain some levels of composure.

"Congratulations! To the both of you!" Slughorn shouts, shaking Harry's hand.

Everyone who heard began approaching to shake Harry's hand.

Lily shows off her engagement proudly.

"Congrats, Harry," says Neville.

Harry shakes Neville's hand.

A shadow looms over Harry and Lily as they turn to see Professor Snape.

"Congratulations, Potter, Morris," Snape says with a half-hearted smile.

Harry tries to hold himself together.

He would not let Snape ruin this night.

"Thank you, sir," says Harry.

"Potter, I request a moment of your time," says Snape.

"Can't this wait?" Harry says impatiently.

"Afraid not. Don't worry, it will only be a minute," says Snape.

Harry raises an eyebrow at Snape before following Snape.

"You don't have to worry. You're not in trouble. I'm only here to relay a message," says Snape.

"A message? From whom?" Harry asks cautiously.

Snape is known for working for both Dumbledore and Voldemort.

"From Professor Dumbledore. He wishes you happy holidays and informs you that your lessons will resume the first weekend after the term reassumes. He will currently be unavailable. He said he'll be… traveling," says Snape.

"Travelling where?" demands Harry.

Snape says nothing as he gives Harry a blank look before walking off.

Harry says nothing more as he returns to Lily's side.

Harry holds Lily waits tightly, feeling uneasy about Snape's message.
