Magical Origins

Author Notes: This is a simple chapter. Some of you are questioning Hermione Granger's future, and it will be revealed surprisingly in the next few chapters.

Also, address the Black Wizard. I didn't want to copy Sage Ra's darkness in this story, so I went a bit like the Zeref route from Fairy Tail. This wizard has a different reason for doing what he's doing.

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge this is Chapter 100! With over 2,000 Reviews! and over 2.6 million Reads. Thank you to all my readers and supporters!

Year 6: A Peaceful Day

With the student body back, everyone learned of Harry's sudden engagement.

Even more surprising, it was towards Liliana Morris.

Both Lily and Harry were pressured for details into their marriage.

Harry and Lily didn't comment much about their engagement. They were seen more publicly together, with Lily appearing more like a… witch than a tomboy.

Lily, who has always acted like a tomboy, appears more witchlike.

Her roommates finally caught Lily seated behind her mirror, brushing her hair.

For the first time, Lily was acting like a teenage witch.

Lily would skip, hum, and sing for no reason.

Many witches were jealous.

It got worse when the Daily Prophet learned of Harry's engagement.

It got worse when they learned it was a muggleborn, Liliana Morris. Many criticize Lily's engagement to Harry. Many questions were raised about whether the two had ever had a relationship before.

Because of Lily's Potions skills, some suggested Lily may have brewed a Love Potion.

The Daily Prophet may have run an article, but Witch Weekley had attacked Lily. They immediately suspected she brewed and tricked Harry into drinking a love potion. Some rumors began stating that Lily had lied to Harry about being pregnant with his child and forced him into marriage.

As a result of the negative media, Lily received a lot of hate mail during meal times.

Many didn't make it through due to the new screening progress, but she still got many threats.

Several witches had sent Lily cursed letters as if trying to hurt her.

Some with poisons, and others with jinxes.

Some had sent haulers.

Lily had burned the letters with relative ease.

Harry was lying on Lily's lap, eyes closed once more in the middle of the courtyard.

Lily took the time to play with Harry's hair. Combing it with her hands, finding great joy in doing so.

'Perhaps it's a girl thing. I've remember seeing Cho clean Harry's ears when he was sleeping on her lap,' thinks Lily as she continues to play with Harry's hair.

Nearby, Romilda Vane looks on in envy and jealousy at the witch two years her senior.

How she had dreamed of marrying Harry Potter.

She holds her chocolates carefully and decides to approach.

"Hello Harry," says Romilda.

Harry says nothing, pretending to be asleep.

"What is it?" asks Lily.

"I was hoping to offer Harry some chocolates to congratulate him on his engagement," lies Romilda.

"I'll give them to him when he wakes," says Lily.

Romilda says nothing as she looks at Lily.

She hands Lily her chocolates before she walks away.

"Who's that?" asks Harry.

"Romilda Vane, a Gryffindor Four Year," says Lily.

"Love potion?" says Harry.

"Yep," says Lily.

Harry grins at Lily's ability to recognize potions and poisons hidden within food and drinks.

"You going to put her in detention?" asks Harry.

"You could have easily put her in detention yourself," says Lily.

"How's Weasley taking our engagement?" asks Harry grinning.

"He went on his usual rants," says Lily.

"How many people think you drank a love potion?" asks Harry.

"It's more like people think I made you drink a love potion, given my potions' talent," says Lily.

Harry chuckles, giving a dry smile at the thought.

"They know I have immunity to such methods," says Harry.

"That's the thing, I don't think they know that," replies Lily.

The click of a camera going off could be heard as Lily looks up to see Colin Creevey standing there taking a picture of the two.

"Hey, do you think I can be your wedding photographer!" Creevey asks excitedly.

Harry quickly draws his wand and jabs it at Creevey, turning him into a weasel.

Creevey looks up in confusion.

"Merlin! He's so annoying," mutters Harry.

"Sorry about that," says Lily.

Lily knew better than anyone that Harry hated being photographed and publicized. Harry did not like the attention despite what the Daily Prophet wrote about him.

"What did you think of Dumbledore's lessons?" asks Lily.

"Getting that information will be hard. Slughorn has been stubborn for years about giving up that information," says Harry.

They had witnessed Tom Riddle getting information on Horcruxes from Professor Slughorn. The memory had been tampered with, so the conversation wasn't known. It was clear this helped Voldemort, and Slughorn wasn't sharing.

Harry and Lily had been given the task of acquiring information from Slughorn.

Lily wanted to confront Slughorn right away, but Harry advised patience and came up with a plan of attack.

They needed to corner Slughorn into confessing what he told Voldemort.

Slughorn praised Harry's mother and even compared Harry's mother to Lily.

They went over every detail of how they were going to confront Slughorn.

They needed to be patient, and once they had blackmail information on him, they would strike.

Lily did advise Harry not to be mean to Slughorn.

Artemis suggested appealing to Slughorn's guilt.

It was clear he had some guilt for Harry's mother's death.

Perhaps in some way, he felt responsible.

Slughorn is also sugarcoating Harry and Lily. Their engagement is no doubt the biggest event of the decade.

Slughorn even suggested that Harry and Lily get married at Hogwarts.

A very appealing idea.

One Harry and Lily were strongly considering.

Harry sits up as Lily places her arms on Harry's shoulder. She lays her head on his back.

Harry begins to wonder how Lily would look with a swollen belly.

There was a strong possibility she was already pregnant.

Harry knew she wasn't protected, and she was fertile.

"Potter," says a voice.

Harry blinks and turns to the source. His face turns into a scowl at the sight of Percy Weasley.

"What are you doing here, Weasley?"

"The Minister wishes to congratulate you on your engagement," Percy says professionally.

Percy ignores the dislike Harry was giving him.

"What do you want," demands Harry.

Percy has never liked Harry. This hasn't changed after he left Hogwarts.

"The Minister of Magic wishes to speak with you," Percy says in a matter-of-fact tone.

Harry raises an eyebrow at Percy.

"If he wishes to speak to me, he must go through my representative," says Harry.

Percy says nothing.

More like he didn't hear what Harry had said.

"If you'll follow me, the Minister is waiting," says Percy.

"Percy," says Harry.

"What?" says Percy.

A loud bang could be heard as Percy fell to his knees, holding his lower back.

He turns to see Artemis Wynter approaching him, her wand out.

"What are you doing, Weasley!" shouts Artemis.

Percy groans as he turns to look at Artemis.

Percy glares at Artemis with frustration, anger, jealousy, and lust.

Harry stands up and looks down at Percy.

"Tell the Minister I'm going to decline his request," says Harry.

Harry turns and walks away, ushering Lily and Artemis to his side.

Percy stands there calmly.

Several students began to step aside, carving a path.

Not because of Harry.

Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour, walks forward with several members of his staff.

Harry stands there glaring at the man who had almost a lion appearance.

Harry's arm wraps tightly around Lily's waist, trying to calm himself.

"Percy," says Scrimgeour.

"Minister," Percy says politely as he stands up and makes himself presentable.

"Mr. Potter, I'm Rufus Scrimgeour, the Minister of Magic."

"I know who you are," says Harry.

"Then you understand that I've wished to speak to you for some time," says Scrimgeour.

"Yes, Isabelle has informed me of your 'request,'" says Harry.

"Then you understand the situation. You understand the Minister can offer you much in return for your assistance," says Scrimgeour.

True.

"Isabelle turned you down for a reason. She knows me well. While your offer is appealing, there is a catch. In an ironic twist, you want me to do the very thing Fudge has been accusing of doing all over the daily prophet. Unfortunately for you, Minister, it's not my nature to lie to the public under false security. I tend to be very honest regarding my feelings towards certain matters. Also, my relations with the Minister of Magic have reached an all-time low, thanks to Fudge. Who presented a false image? Unless I start seeing a real change within the Ministry of Magic, I will not help you. That includes arresting civilians under the false pretense of winning," says Harry.

Scrimgeour looks at Harry with a lockjaw.

Bitter and angry that his offer had been so bluntly rejected.

Scrimgeour was about to say something when he paused.

The air around him got cold.

The sound of hissing could be heard.

Scrimgeour could feel the venomous fangs of a snake poise sink into his throat.

Scrimgeour almost reacted instantly.

His wand was out, pointed at Harry's face.

Harry stands there without blinking and unconcern with Scrimgeour's wand inches from his face.

'He claims to have dueled the Dark Lord to a stalemate. I haven't seen his magical skills, yet he's already proven to be a threat. Did he…'

Scrimgeour looks around with his eyes and sees students watching the exchange.

'Bastard. He set me up.'

Scrimgeour, realizing Potter held the upper hand, turns and walks away, putting his wand away.

Percy says nothing to Harry. He follows the Minister of Magic with his nose held high and his chest full of false bravado.

"Seems Scrimgeour finally found a way to corner you at last," says Artemis.

"So, it would seem," replies Harry.

"Isabelle told Scrimgeour you had no desire to speak with him. Hard to believe he's been that pursuant," says Artemis.

"I wonder if Dumbledore had to go through this," says Harry.

"What do you mean?" asks Lily.

"I doubt Fudge is the first Ministry official to feel threatened by Dumbledore. I'm sure countless Ministry officials have been threatened by Dumbledore's popularity before," says Harry.

"Seems you're the new Dumbledore. The new Minister wants you in his corner. He fears you'll speak out against him," says Artemis.

"I most likely will," says Harry.

Artemis says nothing. She turns around and heads back to the Healer Wing.

The school had learned that Ginny Weasley attempted to poison Lily and was exposed as a Death Eater.

Ron, given his long-standing hatred for Harry, has been very quiet. He wasn't saying or making his usual rants on Harry being a Dark Lord.

No one was associating themselves with him anymore.

Ron sits on the pillar, looking angrily at Harry.

Harry starts teasing Lily, opening her robes to expose her belly. He begins to kiss suckle.

Lily smiles as she holds Harry gently by his hair.

Ron grows frustrated with anger, wondering how blind Lily became to agree to marry Potter.

Potter may have been able to hide his cruelty, but Ron wasn't fooled.

Ron couldn't believe Potter had belittled the Minister of Magic and turned down his offer. Ron would have accepted, as it was the wise and proper thing.

Ron says nothing as he turns and walks away.

Ginny's capture had been a severe blow.

The Commander had to silence her before she said anything. Potter had done something to her to make her speak.

Now the task of killing the mudblood Lily Morris had fallen to Ron.

Ron had no quarrels with Lily.

He knew he was doing the right thing in helping the wizarding world in getting rid of Potter.

If Lily was taking the wrong path, he would make sure her death would be a mercy kill.

Yes, he would kill her to save her from Potter's grasp.

Ron says nothing as he has a nasty scowl on his face as he watches Harry and Lily disappear into the castle.

Lily giggles as Harry leads her to somewhere near the dungeons.

Harry and Lily sneak towards Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and lock the door.
