Magical Origins
Author Notes: I hope everyone enjoys the update, had some things to do in the summer... there will be some answers answered in the upcoming chapters.
Year 7: Dark Will
Ron Weasley sits proudly at the table with the other high-ranking Death Eaters. His dream of finally killing Potter drew ever nearer.
They were skeptical when he requested the Death Eaters wishing to join. When he told them he wanted Harry Potter dead. He even appealed to the Dark Lord to have Potter's fortune and riches added to his name.
Voldemort agreed and had Ron prove his undying loyalty to him.
Ron did so to prove how much he wanted Potter dead.
He killed fifteen muggle children to show his devotion.
Anything to kill Potter.
Ron blames Potter for his assignment failing. How did Potter always give the slip and appear when he was least wanted? Ron couldn't wait to see Potter die.
Ron had to kill his sister. He regretted doing so, but he couldn't risk her talking to the Aurors.
"Awe… Severus…, You're late," said Voldemort.
"Apologizes, my Lord. I had to double-check my sources on that matter you asked of me," said Snape.
"And?" said Voldemort.
"The rumors are true. Potter has fled Hogwarts after Dumbledore's funeral. He's completely vanished," said Snape.
"You mean there is no trace of the boy?" said Yaxley.
"None. He had his trace removed last year, given his…, situation," said Snape.
"Maybe if you had killed the boy while you were at Hogwarts…" mutters Avery.
"My job was to obtain information for the Dark Lord. Even if I wanted to kill the boy, Dumbledore had me swear an unbreakable oath not to harm the boy and to protect him during his time at Hogwarts. Are you suggesting I break that oath and fail the Dark Lord?" Snape said softly.
Avery said nothing as he looked at Voldemort, silently pleading for his support.
"Severus has explained his situation to me, and I agree with his decisions. Regardless, Harry Potter… is mine to kill and mine alone," Voldemort said softly.
"What of the duel? Is it true Potter and Dumbledore dueled before our attack?" demands Nott.
"Very true. No one knows why not even me. I can only speculate that Potter discovered some secrets Dumbledore has kept from him," said Snape.
"Onto more important matters. We will continue to search for Harry Potter… but another far more important matter. One that has eluded the Dark Lord in the last war. Yaxley! Will everything be ready by August?" demands Horvath.
"Yes, we have numerous agents in place, and the muggles will fall before summer ends," said Yaxley.
"The Aurors have been protecting the muggles," said Dolohov.
"There is also the matter of the Order of the Phoenix," said Cedric.
"The Order is more of a nuisance than a threat," said Rowle.
Others laugh at the thought.
"Many Aurors have defected from the Ministry. They see Scrimegour as incompetent and weak. They believe the Ministry is being filled with Death Eaters," said Snape.
"Well, they're not wrong," said Rowle.
"Carelessness like that is what will cost us the war," warns Snape.
Everyone shuts up.
"Severus is right. Until we have total victory… we cannot afford to be reckless. Make sure all your assignments are ready as we begin to take this world," said Voldemort.
'You should kill them.'
Voldemort shrugs the voice.
Soon the world would be his.
Draco sits with his mother and father, unsure of how he would survive this.
"Where does Luna live?" Harry asks as they travel through the countryside.
"You may find this hard to believe, but near the Weasley's family home," said Lily.
Harry felt a sense of dread. Praying Ron Weasley wasn't home. Though he should be locked up and Ginny is dead. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
"Are Fred and George living there?" asks Harry.
"No, they live in Diagon Alley. Percy also moved out, so… it's only Mr. and Mrs. Weasley who live there," said Lily.
Bill and Charlie left long ago.
The two youngest were either dead or a wanted criminal.
Seems the Weasley family has fallen apart.
Harry remembers his conversation with Dumbledore about using extreme methods on Death Eaters.
"How do you feel after talking to your relatives?" asks Lily.
"Strange," admits Harry.
It was like a weight had been taken off Harry's back. A feeling came through him as he's never felt before.
Harry pulls out the magical tent, and the two immediately climb inside for the night.
Harry and Lily began making dinner for the two of them.
They've missed Hogwarts food but manage to survive with most muggle food.
Once they had finished eating, they would go to sleep.
Thankfully, the tent had some of the best protection possible. They could not be seen or heard by anyone. The tent is unplottable and has a Fidelius charm, so only Harry and Lily could come and go.
Now that suspect that Voldemort is being tapped into an Obscurial. They had to look into ways to kill Voldemort.
Easier said than done.
Obscurials were known to be very magically powerful. Credence Barebone is the oldest known Obscurial, and his power was greater than Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
One problem, as Grindelwald noted, is the power of the Obscurial is a double edge sword. It also slowly kills the users. Even if you prolong your life, the more power you have, the worse the after-effects become.
The trick would be to bypass Voldemort's defensives and onslaught to kill him.
Easier said than done.
Harry and Lily had seen Grindelwald's memory of Credence and knew Voldemort would be even more powerful.
Another factor and a huge difference between Credence and Voldemort is that Voldemort had knowledge and skills in dueling and wielding magic. Credence only used raw power to defeat wizards.
Meaning Voldemort would be even more dangerous than Credence.
Grindelwald received Credence and had the power to level an entire city. The entire Wizarding World feared him as much as himself.
Harry and Lily kept quiet, traveling across the countryside.
Lily knew the location of the Burrow. So Harry followed her.
They didn't encounter anyone, which was strange.
Then again, Harry felt it best this way, knowing if no one knew where he was located, then he would be safe.
They eventually reach the Burrow.
Harry watches Mrs. Weasley walking around the house by herself. She would occasionally look at some of her family pictures, silently crying.
Ron Weasley had been branded as a Death Eater, and Ginny was dead. Her other children apparently haven't been talking to her.
Fred and George have found their mother annoying and overbearing. She also didn't support their ambition as entrepreneurs. Believing they should instead be working for the Ministry.
Percy refused to speak to his family. He believes the Ministry is right, and his family is wrong for supporting Albus Dumbledore.
Harry has never known Percy to enjoy life. Always sticking to rules and regulations over everything and everyone.
Worse is his sick obsession with Artemis.
Percy is under the delusion that Artemis should be his wife. He didn't respect her or have any feelings toward her. He only cared for her beauty and saw her as the perfect trophy wife.
Artemis knew, and she rejected him.
Harry didn't know anything about the two oldest Weasley children. Bill and Percy.
"Harry?! Lily?! What are you doing here?" said Hermione.
"Hermione? What are you doing here?" said Lily in surprise.
Harry looks at Granger in surprise.
"I was staying here after Dumbledore's funeral. Mrs. Weasley invited me," said Hermione.
"You're the only one here," said Lily.
"Ginny is dead, and Ron has escaped from Azkaban," said Hermione.
"He escaped?" said Harry.
Harry very much doubts Ron Weasley had the skills to escape Azkaban.
"More like there was a mass breakout after Dumbledore's funeral," said Hermione.
This was something that hadn't been reported. It hasn't been in the news at all.
"Is Ron back home?" said Harry.
Hermoine shakes her head.
"No one knows where he is," said Hermione.
"What are you two doing here?" Hermione asks, looking at the two.
Harry and Lily didn't say anything.
"We're going to see Lovegood," said Harry.
"Why are you going to see the Lovegoods?" asks Hermione.
"We're seeking answers," said Harry.
"What sort of answers?" asks Hermione.
Harry gives her a dark look.
It was the same as she wanted to know all the answers to satisfy her own personal curiosity.
Harry spots movement from the Burrow and quickly moves to avoid being spotted.
Hermione and Lily quickly follow. Sensing Harry's urge to leave the area quickly.
It wasn't surprising, seeing how Harry's never been on good terms with the Weasley outside the twins.
Hermione begins to tag along as they make their way to the Lovegood household.
Harry stops short of seeing the Lovegood manor.
It had the appearance of a Rook from a chess board.
Harry knew a wizard's household was vastly different from their appearance. It took great magical skills to maintain a house's magic and appearance.
The Lovegoods are known to be a strange wizarding family, but Harry knew even the strangest family could hold many secrets.
Wizarding families did much to keep their family secrets hidden.
Lily knocks on the front door.
The door opens, and the most bizarre wizard appears.
"Mr. Potter," said the wizard.
"Mr. Lovegood. Is Luna here?" asks Harry.
"Hello, Harry," said Luna.
Harry and Lily turn around and see Luna standing there.
"You know we hate it when you do that," said Lily.
"What brings you here?" asks Luna.
"What can you tell us about this symbol? And why Dumbledore is seen associated with it," said Harry.
Luna looks at him, as does her father.
"Is it possible… Albus Dumbledore is a Seeker as well?" mutters Mr. Lovegood.
"Come in," said Luna.
They walk inside as Mr. Lovegood prepares some tea.
"I didn't expect Albus Dumbledore to be a Seeker. What do you know of the Deathly Hallows?" asks Xenophilius.
"The what?" said Lily.
Harry is equally flabbergasted.
"You didn't know? I suppose in this day and age, not many kids are interested in the past. You have the book… so why don't you read it," said Xenophilius.
"Have you heard the Tale of Three Brothers?" asks Xenophilius.
Harry and Lily shook their heads. As they were muggle-raised, wizard stories were foreign to them.
To their surprise, Hermione also shakes her head. This was most unusual as Hermione had spent much of her academic career reading every book that came across her nose.
"I have a copy somewhere here," said Xenophilius.
"Dumbledore left us this book," said Harry, holding up the book.
"Awe… the original copy. Why don't you read it aloud, so we all can understand the story," said Xenophilius.
"Er… alright," said Harry.
Harry hands the book to Hermione, knowing she wouldn't pass up an opportunity like this.
Hermione takes the book and begins to read.
