Lonely Room
He closed the door behind him and started getting ready for bed. As he slide under the covers he heard music. It was coming from rogue's room right beneath him. It was some ballad about love and he could hear rouge and bobby (who was breaking the rules being out of his room so late) they were laughing and talking. They talked all night. They were pretty loud and Logan heard there talks, of school before there mutant powers. Bobby also read her poems and all that stuff.
You know all that young love talk but….somewhere deep in his heart it hurt him to hear this. About as much as it hurt to see Jean and Scott together. He looked around the room. "Look at this" he thought. Am I the only one who can't find someone? He knew he wasn't the poem writing, bath and oils kind of guy but he was one who would talk and help with your problems. He wasn't THE most romantic but there was a sliver here and there.
He thought sometimes about him not being a mutant. Of course they all did but tonight it was turned toward love and that feeling of loneliness. He use to feel this dull throbbing pain but has had it for so long he has learned to ignore it, but every now and then it comes back at full force like now. Even Rogue found someone to love and he was happy for her, truly he was. For someone who can't touch the skin of the person that they love, that sounds close to hell on earth. Now the music has stopped and….Rogue...she's crying and……. bobby is telling her he will always be there for her. No matter what Magneto or anybody that is anti mutant says is true. Logan felt for love just like any joe down the street.
"It's funny" he thought as he thought of all of his battles, all the wounds... a lot of them were for love. Different kinds of course, but still love. Another lonely room, another lonely bed, another lonely heart. For all of his mutant abilities, his healing power his adamanteum there was one thing his power could not heal….his heart.
