Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, the concept, or its characters. They belong to Bandai, Toei Animation, Saban... maybe others as well. I'm merely using them for my own personal enjoyment. Please don't sue

Notes: It probably would've been easier if I had only tried one pairing instead of both. But this idea was coming out, and I wasn't about to stop it. Granted, it's not something I'm immensely pleased with, but it did come out rather nicely.

Takes place sometime during season two.

Mixed Reactions

They knew there shouldn't have been any feelings between them. He was their enemy, and he wanted to destroy everything they stood for, not to mention their friends. (One-sided Miyaken, one-sided Daiken)

But that didn't stop the attraction Daisuke and Miyako felt towards the dark-haired boy. It didn't keep their hearts from fluttering anytime the name Ichijouji Ken was brought up in their presence, even though they knew that he was also the dark and sinister Digimon Kaiser and didn't care about them in the slightest.

Miyako's interest in him was the more obvious of the two. She had nearly squeezed poor Poromon to death at the soccer game, and how often had she fantasized about being Ichijouji Miyako? He was her dream boy; the other guys she went after were just something to keep her occupied until she could have him, and if she couldn't, she'd worry about settling down with someone else later on. But then she had found out that he was the Digimon Kaiser; 'crushed' didn't even begin to describe her emotional state afterwards. She didn't understand how he could appear so kind on television and be such a maniacal monster in the other world.

Daisuke, on the other hand, was a bit harder to pinpoint. He obviously respected Ken from the soccer game, though he was constantly bragging that he could take the Tamachi star down any day if he put his mind to it. When Daisuke had seen the cut on the Kaiser's leg, he had felt sick inside, and it had only gotten worse when, seconds later, the Kaiser had introduced himself as Ichijouji Ken. But instead of hating Ken, like he was sure he should have, he became confused.

It wasn't like they could confide in the others; Iori hated the Digimon Kaiser, and Takeru seemed to feel the same way; neither were sure how Hikari really felt on the subject, though. Miyako considered talking to her quite a few times - they were the only two girls of the new team, after all, and Miyako often wondered if Hikari had ever struggled with a crush. But with Daisuke, the idea only crossed his mind once, and he quickly squashed it. It wasn't natural for guys to be confused over their feelings for other boys - everyone already looked at him weirdly for his idolization of Taichi, and adding Ken's name to the mix was bound to make things look worse.

The Digimon Kaiser needed to be stopped at all costs; that much was obvious. But to do that, they would have to overcome their feelings towards the boy genius behind the monster.
