Before Nyoko had taken a sip of that bitter-tasting Sprite that Xemnas gave her and then passed out, the last thing she could remember was him walking up to her and giving her his congratulations for performing well alongside Fingerbang. Nyoko hadn't given it much thought when it happened, but looking back, she wished she'd noticed the red flags he'd been giving her.
When she woke up, Xemnas had just changed her into some new clothes (which, he claimed, actually belonged to his girlfriend Naminé) and started zipping up his fly. Once Nyoko was a little more aware of her surroundings, she noticed a wet sensation between her legs, some red marks on her wrists, and something freshly carved onto her skin on her right leg and still bleeding.
"Where am I?" Nyoko asked slowly. "What happened?"
"Well, we're in my hotel room," Xemnas replied nonchalantly. "And uh... let's just say I needed to let off some steam after the concert."
Nyoko looked at Xemnas first with puzzlement, then with horror. "What? What are you talking about? What did you do to me?" When she didn't get a response, she grabbed him by the collar of his black robe and drew him closer. "What was in that Sprite you gave me?! Why did you change my clothes?!"
"Sorry, not telling you."
"What?! Why not?!"
"Just can't. Anyway, I'm gonna call Lexaeus and have him and the rest of the gang take you to the hospital. You can't tell anybody about what I just did to you, got it? Or else..."
Now Nyoko was starting to raise her voice, still seething with rage over the realization she just made. "As if drugging me and taking advantage of me wasn't enough, you're gonna blackmail me, too?! Why would you even do this?!"
Xemnas shrugged apathetically. "I don't know, because I could? Now shut the hell up and don't say a word. If Naminé finds out about it, I will never hear the end of it."
"Who's Naminé?! Your girlfriend?! Your sister?! Your...?!"
Xemnas whacked her in her right temple with an analog alarm clock, immediately knocking her unconscious.
When Nyoko came to again, she found herself in a hospital room, surrounded by her family, Fingerbang, all of the members of Organization XII save for Xemnas, and Fingerbang's manager Goldie Diamond. Her right leg was all bandaged up, a little bit of blood having soaked through, and she happened to be wearing a white hospital gown.
"Oh my God, we heard what happened," Kyle said after seeing Nyoko wake up. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah..." Nyoko quietly replied. "Where am I?"
"You're in St. Anthony Hospital, Nyoko. Apparently, someone attacked you and forced himself onto you while they were trying to rob Xemnas' hotel room." Kyle looked around for a bit. "Speaking of, where is he anyway?"
"Oh, he said he had somewhere he needed to be," Naminé muttered quietly while pushing a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear.
Kyle scratched the back of his head. "Well, where could he have gone?"
Naminé shrugged. "I don't know. He wouldn't say."
Mrs. Goshima had her face buried into her hands this whole time. "Oh God, if I had known that some man would have his way with you while you and your sisters were wearing those jumpsuits, I never would have bought them for you."
Nyoko nervously chuckled. "Mom, I'm pretty sure it didn't have anything to do with the jumpsuit."
"You're right. Clearly, it must have been something you did."
Nyoko blinked slowly, trying to process what her mother just said. "What?"
"You must've done something slutty in order to have someone force himself onto you. I mean, why else would he do it if you weren't trying to seduce him?"
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me, young lady. I told you not to have sex until you were married, and what did you do? This is all my fault and your father's. We shouldn't have let you girls out of our sight. From this point on, until our vacation time is over, we will be joined at the hip, got it?"
Nyoko couldn't believe it. Was she being punished for what had happened to her? If anyone should've been punished for this, it would be Xemnas. After all, he was the one who spiked her Sprite with quaaludes. He was the one who did unspeakable things to her. He was the one who hit her in the side of the head in order to cover his tracks. But no, apparently, she was the one in the wrong because she happened to wear a blue and yellow jumpsuit. What a bunch of bullshit...
"Yes, Mom," Nyoko submissively croaked.
As much as Nyoko wanted to lash out, let her mother know how she really felt, she was afraid of how she would react. She was afraid her mother would try to take away even more of her freedom. Besides, she couldn't forget about that promise she made to Miyako... to Xemnas... she feared for her life, for how they would retaliate if they found out.
The rest of the Goshimas' vacation went on uneventfully, with the whole family going to see the Morrison Natural History Museum as well as some of Morrison's other landmarks. The whole time, Mrs. Goshima watched over Nyoko like a hawk, seemingly worried that one of her triplet daughters would go off and do something "slutty" again. Nyoko tried to distract herself from what had happened with Xemnas by focusing on the fossils and the dinosaur exhibits, but over and over again, she replayed the moment where Xemnas handed her the spiked Sprite and the aftermath like a vinyl record on an old record player.
Once the four days in Morrison were up, the Goshimas checked out of the La Quinta Inn and started the drive back home to Conifer. Nyoko wanted to crawl into a hole and die after everything that had happened back there. She wished she could just forget about the pain and trauma in an instant, but she couldn't. She couldn't just forget.
"So did everyone have fun back at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre?" Mr. Goshima asked the triplets.
"Yeah!" Momoko and Miyako happily replied. "It was awesome!"
Nyoko, however, didn't say a word. She didn't feel like saying much of anything, lest her mother get angry at her and yell at her for getting out of line. She had no idea why her mother, her own mother, would try to make her feel awful for something that wasn't even her fault. Why would her mother try to control her after she experienced what was perhaps one of the most traumatic things a person could experience? Why, why, why? Whatever the reason could be, she couldn't find it. On the way home, Nyoko quietly sobbed, unsure what her future could be from this point on.
