Whoohoo! I got another chapter in! Thank you to those who have read and liked the story so far. I am totally winging this as a go so even I don't really know what's gonna happen next. It's so light and fun to write though, so I hope you are enjoying it!

When Fred finally came to, sun was streaming though his window. He looked around at at all the superhero paraphernalia on the ceiling and the cosplay sets decorating his room. His life-sized model of a dragon stared at him from the back wall. A sharp pain shot through his head, followed by a flash of a real dragon with two heads, each with a slit tongue and a horn above its nose.

"Gah," he moaned, squeezing his eyes shut and pressing fingers to his temple.

"Good morning, Fred."

The distinctive voice of Baymax next to him made Fred jump. He spotted the white balloon robot in the corner by the doorway, and watched him walk squeakily towards him with his tiny fat legs.

Baymax stopped about a foot from Fred's bedside. "Your fever has decreased to normal temperatures, and your body functions read normal," the healthcare robot announced.

"Glad to hear it, B-man," Fred grumbled. "You got any painkillers for a headache?"

"Yes," the robot held out his puffy hand, which held two small Advil.

"Thanks." Fred took the pills with a glass of water that had been left on his bedside table.

Baymax watched Fred blankly for a moment. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

Fred thought for a moment. Everything that had happened last night seemed blurred in his head. He remembered waking up from a vivid dream, racing into the living room where his friends were a sleep with something important he needed to tell them. But what that something was already had become fuzzy. It had something to do with that darned dragon he kept seeing in his mind.

Before Fred could give Baymax and answer, the door to his bedroom creaked open. Hiro's face peered inside tentatively. When the boy saw Fred, he opened the door further.

"You're awake," he said. He stood awkwardly by the door. "Are you... uh..."

"I'm fine," Fred sat up, still rubbing his head. He wasn't sure if that was really a true statement, but he didn't want to worry his friend. "Actually, I... don't remember much. What happened?"

Hiro relaxed slightly and came inside the room. "Thanks for keeping an eye on him, Baymax," he put a hand on the robot's arm.

"Fred's condition has noticeably improved from last night," Baymax told Hiro. "I recommend a warm bath to calm his mind and muscles, as well as nutritious foods to give him energy for the day."

With that firm medical prescription, Baymax waddled slowly out of the room.

Hiro sat on the bed next to Fred. "You kind of went delirious last night," he told him. "Talking about Vikings and dragons. You seemed to think we were all different people."

Fred looked at Hiro, and suddenly saw a flash of slightly different boy, with red-brown hair and freckles.

Hiccup, Fred remembered now. The memory was distant, but there. Hiccup was the small, inventive genius of the tribe who had grown up to become Chief. He had been the first to learn how to ride a dragon, not so different from the way Hiro had learned to ride on Baymax. Fred smirked. Leave it to Hiccup to come up with a way to fly without a dragon.

Of course, Hiro was not Hiccup. Fred knew that. But Hiro did have the Viking's soul. It was bizarre how easily Fred was able to recognize that, and how certain he was that it was true.

"Do you remember?" Hiro asked.

Fred almost forgot the context of the question. "Right, yeah," he responded belatedly. "Sorry for freaking all of you guys out."

Hiro put a hand on Fred's back. "Just take it easy, today, alright? I'm glad you're feeling like yourself again."

Fred stayed silent. He wasn't sure which self he felt more like at the moment.

The truth was, Fred felt more confused than ever. He had memory of his current life, and memory of his past life. He was once a Viking named Tuffnut, who lived in a village called Berk and flew with dragons. Anything that he was able to remember was fleeting and vague, but nevertheless real. He had once been the greatest trickster in the archipelago, who loved causing destruction everywhere he went. And even though he was eccentric, his friends always trusted him to do what was right when it mattered.

Now he was Fred, who lived in a giant mansion in San Fransokyo and, as of recently, could be considered a superhero. Most of his life he'd spent delving into other worlds, whether that be comics, video games, or sci-fi/fantasy stories. He had unofficially joined SFIT as the college mascot because of his unwavering enthusiasm for science, even though he has never been much of a student himself. His friends accepted him and his crazy ideas, not unlike the way his friends had on Berk.

At the core, Fred and Tuffnut's souls were the same - they both enjoyed blowing things up, they both strove to see the positives in life, and they were both creative to the point of being considered nuts. But they were different too. Tuffnut had grown up with a twin sister; Fred had grown up alone. Tuff was from a world of rugged Vikings, and Fred was from a world of luxurious wealth. Whereas Tuffnut could hardly ever sit still and had an unhealthy love for violence, Fred was more chill with a lazy side. Not to mention the biggest difference: In his past life, there were dragons.

Hiro brought Fred out of his thoughts when he stood up from the bed. "Come on, we're all having breakfast in the kitchen," the boy gestured for Fred to follow. "You must be hungry."

Fred's stomach growled in response to the mention of breakfast. He had a sudden craving for yak chops, though he could not even remember what those had tasted like.

"Breakfast sounds amazing," Fred agreed, before standing up and following Hiro downstairs.

Breakfast was not yak chops, to Fred's/Tuff's disappointment, but chocolate chip pancakes made a pretty close second.

"Freddie!" Honey Lemon greeted him cheerfully as she buzzed around the kitchen making batter at lightening speed.

Fred immediately smiled, her unusual familiarity finally making sense to him. The Tuffnut in him loved his twin sister more than he had ever been willing to admit. Ruffnut had been much more masculine and violent in style, but her wild and nutty spirit lived happily in Honey Lemon's enthusiastic self.

A large plate of delicious-smelling pancakes was suddenly thrust in front of Fred. He turned to see Wasabi expertly flipping more on the stove.

"Baymax said you gotta, eat, man," the large-muscled nerd insisted. "So I gave you a full batch."

"Oh, thanks," Fred said gratefully, taking the stacked plate and plopping himself down at the table. He couldn't remember the last time someone had cooked breakfast for him. "I'm honestly fine guys, no need for the special treatment."

Gogo popped a gum bubble from the seat across from him. "I take it you're feeling better then?" She asked.

Fred stuffed a giant bite of pancake in his mouth, savoring the amazing melted chocolate on his tongue. He didn't answer, instead letting out a happy noise of content.

Gogo rolled her eyes. "I'll take that as a yes," she said. She reached across the table and held her hand in front of his face. Before Fred could ask what she was doing, she suddenly flicked her finger over the tip of his nose. Hard.

"Owowow!" Fred exclaimed, holding his now throbbing nose. "What was that for?"

"That was for waking us up at three in the morning, Bozo," she told him. "What is up with you?"

"I'm sorry, geez!" Fred apologized. "I must have had a freakish nightmare, that's all."

Everyone seemed to accept that answer, except for Honey. She squinted at him suspiciously. Fred quickly dug his face into his pancakes.

"Are you guys going into the lab today?" Hiro kindly changed the subject.

"Yes!" Honey Lemon instantly responded. "I'm on the verge of something amazing! With the right proportions, I think I can create a chemical compound even more explosive than azidoazide azide!"

"Wow!" Fred's eyes lit up. "I don't even know what that is, but I love it! Can I help?"

"Of course!" Honey agreed.

Hiro looked between the two of them warily. "You want Fred, the one with the fire-breathing lizard suit, to help you create what could be the most explosive chemical compound ever made?"

"Oh relax, Hiro!" Honey said. "It will be in a fully controlled environment. What could go wrong?"

"Oh I don't know," Wasabi chimed in sarcastically. "You could blow up the whole school?!"

"What do you even need such an explosive chemical for, anyway?" Gogo asked.

"Yeah," Hiro agreed. "We all know what could happen if something that dangerous ended up in the wrong hands."

"Oh lighten up, guys," Fred said. "Isn't this what science is about? Pushing the boundaries of the impossible?"

Wasabi gave a few incoherent grumbles and Gogo popped another bubble.

"You're right," Hiro conceded with a sigh. "Just be careful. We all have stuff in that lab that we don't want destroyed."

Honey let out a happy squeal, and gave Fred a tight hug around the neck. "I'm so glad you're back!" She told him. "We are going to have so much fun!"

Fred grinned, and squeezed her back.

Love you too, sis, he thought. If only he could get her to remember it.
