Another couple days of rest occured for Randall until Dr. Stallman came for a visit to take off Randall's bandages, making the purple monster sigh in relief, for this bandage/blindfold had gotten annoying and he wanted to be able to walk around without bumping into anything again.
She sat Randall down on the couch, unwrapping them. Randall blinked a bit from the bright living room light but then his vision adjusted; seeing Elisa much better than before. Stallman smiled. "So? How do you feel?" Randall was grinning from ear to ear. Everything just looked so much better now, he can even see the peephole on Elisa's door! That was when he hugged Stallman who was a little startled but welcomed it. "Thanks, doc, I-I really appreciated this, no more glasses or contacts for me!" He cheered. Stallman laughed after breaking apart.
"No problem, Randall, happy to help anyone in need. I'm sure the clan too will be happy about your vision returning." Elisa then shook Stallman's hand and they bade goodbye to one another until next time. Randall then begged Elisa to take him back to his gargoyle friends. She chuckled, nodding.
"Ok, but after a celebratory lunch, how about it?" She asked. Randall agreed, his belly rumbling then. Lunch was delicious. He thanked Elisa after their meal and for letting him stay after driving to the castle. Now Randall looked forward to other adventures with his friends since he had his sight restored.
They were greeted by Puck who welcomed Randall and Elisa in the building, going to wait for the clan to wake up. Randall paced anxiously until suddenly the stone skin cracked and they all yawned, stretching. Lex looked to see their lizard friend, eyes brighter and bigger unlike before. He jumped down, waving his hand jokingly in front of Randall's face. "So, you got your vision back?" Randall chuckled, yes, olive friend, I did."
Brooklyn grinned. "Cool, your eyes look a lot better, you're not squinting anymore," he said. Randall nodded with a sigh. "Yeah, it's much better that way, let me tell ya," he said, rubbing his head. Hudson smiled gently at the young monster.
"Happy ye had Stallman helpin' ya, she's a good lass," Hudson said happily, a hand on Randall's shoulder. Randall chuckled. "She was nice, a bit over excited about me but nice all the same."
Brooklyn then offered him a suggestion. "Hey, Rand, you want to try riding a bike with me? Me and my brothers have been building a new one, with Angela helping. You should check it out." Randall was stunned. Him, riding a motorcycle with a gargoyle? That sounded insane but fun. He nodded eagerly. Angela wished him to have fun when going with Brooklyn. Goliath had allowed them to go as long as they stayed safe and away from biker gangs unlike before. Randall then knew he can make the cupcakes once his friends slept for the day later.
The Trio opened up the garage the motorbike was stored in, and Randall couldn't believe it, the bike really did look like it was built for a gargoyle! Its coat of paint was now red unlike the previous color since Brooklyn missed the older bike and wanted a new one with his color. He gazed it over, whistling.
"Impressive. Have you tested her yet?" Randall asked. Lex nodded. "She's all ready to go," Broadway confirmed. Randall suddenly got a helmet on him while Brooklyn poked holes in his for the horns, slipping on his bike jacket outfit again. He folded his arms in front of Randall, showing it off.
"What do you think? I usually do this when around bikes," he said, sunglasses on him. Randall chuckled. "Yeah, you really do blend in unless you take the helmet off." Brook blushed then, recalling that time. "So, uh, let's go for a spin," he said quickly. Randall felt eager to go, climbing onto the passenger seat while Brook sat down on the front, starting the bike up. Brooklyn stepped on the gas. "Hold on," he advised Randall who nodded, gripping his seat with his lower hands(He was grateful to have 8 hands).
The other two cheered on Brooklyn driving the bike out, Randall holding on the best he could. Once outside the wind blew roughly in his face, but Randall was grinning. It was rather thrilling while rolling along the now empty streets, the city much more interesting while on a bike.
"So? How is it?!" Brooklyn shouted above the noise of the bike. Randall smiled. "It's amazing!" He shouted back. Brooklyn laughed when doing a sharp turn. Randall gripped tight when going past a cop car. The two were eating doughnuts when seeing the bike. The first with the mustache rolled his eyes, as he and his friend drove after them.
Randall had gazed in the rearview mirror to see the cops behind them, tapping Brook's shoulder who looked up, noticing the cops then.
"Oh, not again…" Brooklyn moaned, remembering his first time being chased. Randall winced as a light was shone on them. "This is where we scram, right?" He asked. Brooklyn nodded. "We gotta get back anyway," he said, tuning up the speed, zipping as far as they could, until the duo spotted a ramp on a wall. Brooklyn grinned at this callback, raising his wings. Randall's eyes rounded.
"Uh, what are you doing? What are you doing?!" He screamed, burying his face into Brooklyn's back, closing his eyes.
Brooklyn let the updraft carry him over the fence safely to the other side, losing the police. The moustache cop put a hand on his stomach.
"Boy, seriously do I need to stop eating this," he muttered, not having learnt this lesson before when seeing a similar situation happen.
Randall winced when the bike hit ground again, but they didn't crash. He opened his eyes, panting erratically, seeing Brooklyn turn his head, laughing. He frowned.
"Not funny, I was terrified!" He stormed. "Well, they didn't catch us and we landed safely, that's what counts, right?" The gargoyle stated. Randall just rolled his eyes, and Brooklyn shrugged, taking the bike back to home base.
They arrived, Randall getting shakily off, but now a smile was on his face. Despite that little moment earlier it was fun overall. Plus he was able to see the sights much better with his new vision. Brooklyn took his attire off.
"So?" He asked. Randall panted. "Exhilarating, but thanks Brooklyn, it was fun," Randall thanked. Brook put a hand on his shoulder. "I always try to have fun with my friends," he said with a smile. "But I once rode a horse back at our old castle, so this bike feels like riding one," he said, a hand on the bike.
"Whoa, really?" Randall exclaimed, fronds up. Brooklyn nodded. "Yeah, an experience I'll never forget from my youth. C'mon, Broadway must have dinner by now," he said. Randall agreed, for he decided bike riding made him hungry, and was anxious to soon begin making his friends his cupcakes.
When coming back Lex and Broadway asked how the ride was and the two friends said it was fun. All of them were unaware that a thickset dark figure had been watching Randall and Brooklyn on the bike ride. The figure would soon begin researching this newcomer, and soon meet him for himself when the time is right.
