Randall had rested for the remainder of the night, after getting comfortable the best possible on this bed that felt different from his own back at the castle. But he guessed this was a good enough living area for these guys.

Yawning, Randall sat up, stretching, and getting out of bed to get his breakfast.

The lizard monster exited out of his room, venturing to the kitchen where Maggie was making the breakfast for the homeless people. He greeted her. The lioness mutate looked up with a smile.

"Good morning. Randall! How did you sleep?" she asked.

Randall nodded. "I slept fine, Maggie. This probably keeps you busy, doesn't it?" Maggie nodded back, but she smiled.

"Yes, but in a good way. It feels good to feed those who can't feed themselves. You can help if you want."

Randall's fronds perked. Nobody ever asked for his help, ever. "S-sure," he said, stepping forward.

Maggie then gave him an apron to wear and pointed out to him the different foods to feed each person. At first it seemed complicated, but Randall eventually got the hang of it when the people came.

One woman was a bit surprised at Randall in the dining area, but she greeted him like everybody else. Randall gave her her food and she thanked him gratefully. It kept up like this for the morning until the afternoon, making Randall feel important. He was happy the humans here seemed to accept him.

Later in the day though, one tough looking human had come for his food. This was Boyd, spying on Randall. He came up next. His appearance somewhat spooked Randall a little; for he had tough muscled arms, but he went ahead and gave him food anyway.

Boyd gave a little smirk at him before leaving. Randall watched after him after the last homeless people were served, unnerved by that guy. He helped Maggie with the cleanup but went to ask her about him.

"Maggie? I don't know how to say this but there was this one guy tougher than the others that was here and gave me a weird mean look. Should I be concerned?" he asked. Maggie narrowed her eyes.

"Don't go anywhere close to him, Randall. He was once one of Fang's allies." she said heatedly.

Randall had heard the story of Brooklyn being the acting leader during Goliath's absence and helping Talon defeat Fang's ruthless mutiny down here and was now locked up. "I won't. Just hope that guy won't cause any trouble and Fang remains in prison," he said.

Maggie sighed. "I hope so, too. That Fang is nothing but trouble for everyone here."

Randall smiled afterward. "But thanks for letting me help, Maggie. It felt… good to provide for others after only caring for myself for so long," he said.

Maggie looked at him gently before giving him food, too. "Here, on the house since we still have to eat. I usually don't eat until everyone else does."

The lizard thanked her again and left to eat as well as wait for the clones to wake up so he could learn more about them.

He ate in silence in his room later, looking out the window at the homeless, seeing a couple kids running around every now and then. Randall's fronds lowered in sadness at the idea of so many kids without homes, which back at his home world won't be good since they need all the children they could scare and get energy for their houses. But it amazed him at how humanity had achieved electricity without scaring anyone for it.

…..

Around sunset, Randall went into the living room and saw the clones waking up. It still unnerved him at how different, yet similar to his friends these creatures looked, especially Delilah. Maggie told him about how Thailog programmed her to merely be an obedient sex slave. He frowned at this. This was no way for anybody to live and hoped that her time with the mutates would teach Delilah how to be independent.

The clones turned to see him there and he waved, doing his best to smile. Malibu waved back, trying to copy his smile.

Burbank nodded. "Goliath friend, we say good evening," he greeted. Randall nodded too. "Likewise," he replied. Brentwood was the most curious about him, looking him over. Lex's clone sniffed.

"No gargoyle?" he asked. Randall shook his head. "I'm not. I'm really a monster from another world, through a closet door."

"Impossible," Burbank murmured, scratching his head.

Randall chuckled. "Says the clone of Hudson," he said. Burbank gave a sheepish smile.

Delilah was gazing at Randall with an interested look again. This made Randall awkward, clearing his throat. "Well, uh, I should go… Nice talking to you…" he mumbled, turning to leave. Delilah reached out. "Wait…" she whispered. But he left all too fast.

Delilah, when she had first seen Randall, noted the loneliness in him even with Brooklyn and the clan as his friends. Didn't he have anyone before coming here? She had to know more about Randall.

Randall ran out into the center of the Labyrinth, sighing now that he was away from them. He found a quiet place to sit and think for a while.

After a bit of time by himself, Randall heard some children laughing. He looked to see a couple kids there looking at him. Randall suddenly felt shy again. He really didn't enjoy too many kids near him, not counting Alex. "Hi," he mumbled, shifting back. A little girl who almost looked like Boo came up. This made Randall even more nervous, not even aware that Delilah was watching.

A little girl with them came closer. "Little lizard!" she squeaked.

Randall felt discomfort and wary, shifting back. The girl ended up taking his tail that was out. Randall's breath hitched but then gave a little smile at how like Alex the girl was. He tentatively pulled her free off his tail. "Guess you're cute, too. But I'm not exactly little," he said, setting her down.

The girl tilted her head, then jumped a bit. "Play? Play?" she begged. Randall then figured he could amuse her, turning invisible.

The girl looked for him until she felt something tickle her. She laughed, when Randall revealed himself again, giving her a tickle fight. Delilah watched from her hiding place, smiling at his gentle attitude to children. Did he really come from a world that scared them just for energy from what Elisa told them? She had to talk to Randall more.

Eventually, Randall said goodbye to the girl, who went back to her mother, sighing a bit with his smile still up, still finding it weird that kids are liking him. A voice spoke up.

"I didn't know you were good with young ones," Elisa's voice said. Randall jumped, finding himself face to face with Delilah again, who was smiling at him. Randall felt his cheeks tinge up with a red blush, clearing his throat sheepishly. "Kids are… tolerable. But why are you here, Delilah?"

The hybrid looked shy, her smile wavering.

"Followed you. Want to know about you," she said, wings flapping. Randall backed up. It wasn't possible she had a crush on him, did she? He gulped again, shaking his head mentally. This wouldn't be right, I'm not a gargoyle! She shouldn't get attached to me! He panicked inside.

Randall watched the hybrid carefully as Delilah looked him over. "So, is camouflage one of your special traits? I like it," she complimented. Randall couldn't help the smile, it felt nice to get praises from a female.

"Delilah… uh… about Thailog. Did he really… sorry if I offend you," Randall said in a stammering tone.

Delilah shook her head. "It's not a big deal, really. My Mas-Thailog, he created me to be obedient. I didn't mind at first, it just meant I had a purpose. A reason to live," she said softly, flapping her wings.

The lizard monster couldn't see this as a good reason to have followed that psycho at all. "No, Delilah. I really don't think Thailog had your best interests at heart. You can be your own person without relying on someone else's orders and find your own… uh… m-mate," he said, feeling Delilah's soft gaze onto his own, making Randall gulp.

"That was the nicest thing anyone ever said to me," Delilah said with a smile. She held her hand out. Randall tentatively took it. Her hand was smooth, and warm. He felt his cheeks coloring again just from holding Delilah's hand. He hadn't been here for very long, but Randall instantly felt something special in Delilah. But after a time, he pulled his hand away. He wasn't ready. It was too soon.

Randall gulped again, looking away. "Gotta go, I'll see you later," he stammered, backing up and quickly going away. Delilah reached out, but her new friend was already gone. She lowered her eyes, hoping they could be together again.
