Randall remained at the Labyrinth for the next couple of days. He slowly began to get more acquainted with the mutates, even making his cupcakes for them again since back with the clan they ate them all.

He served the cupcakes to everyone who gathered in the sitting area with their own tv. Claw took a bite, a smile forming on his face, then made a signing symbol saying he liked them.

Even Talon couldn't deny they were good. "You really have a talent, Randall. Maybe you can make some more to give to Maggie so she can serve them." He offered.

Randall's fronds went up in surprise from this offer to make more but he nodded with a smile, avoiding Delilah's eyes, however. Ever since their get together his second day she never stopped looking at him. Talon had noticed but kept silent, wondering though if the two were developing feelings.

Eventually, Talon offered Randall to patrol with him in the Labyrinth, which Randall was all too happy to accept to get away from Delilah for a while. He knew he would have to see her again soon, but Randall felt he needed some air.

Mutate and monster roamed outside in the subway area that was abandoned, keeping their eyes out for intruders. Randall had to admit this was the most interesting visit he had.

He had questions though. "Talon, Elisa told me only half of your story when you were mutated. What exactly happened?" Talon bristled but sighed.

"I guess my sis would want me to tell you from my own words. Fine. It was all Sevarius and Xanatos. But they made me believe that Goliath and his clan were at fault. It felt painful when transforming, taking away my humanity. But maybe, this helped me create a new life for myself. In its weird, twisted way," Talon then explained. Randall's fronds lowered from this story, it felt like his own, blaming someone who wasn't at fault.

But then he heard cruel voices, and the cocking of weapons. "Talon, I hear something," he hissed. The panther mutate heard as well, and the two snuck around to find who was intruding.

It appeared to be a group of lowlifes bringing weapons in, which Talon disapproved of. The leader snickered. "These bums wouldn't expect weapons to appear suddenly, for sure!"

"Yeah, this was good thinkin', Boss!"

Claw, who was with Randall and Talon growled, pointing. Talon nodded. "Randall, distract them with your camouflage, and we'll tackle them during it," he growled. Randall nodded, turning invisible, and creeping around.

Talon and Claw flew silently into the shadows near their enemies. While one man was cleaning his weapon, it was suddenly snatched, thrown at the wall. "Whoa, what the?!"

"Jimmy, quit foolin'!" snarled the bearded leader, grabbing the scruff of his shirt. Jimmy whimpered. "That wasn't me! Someone took my weapon!" Then the leader yelped when Randall's tail smacked him on the head.

He turned, dropping Jimmy, drawing his pistol. "Come out with your hands up, Freak! Whoever you are!" But Randall remained hidden, smirking when seeing his friends coming at the men, tackling them with brute strength.

Claw lifted Jimmy in his talons, shaking his head in disapproval, throwing him away. Talon held the bearded leader close, eyes glowing. "Weapons aren't welcome in the Labyrinth! So I suggest you take your boys and beat it!" He ordered, tossing the guy to the floor, and then breaking the other weapons. The men cried in fear and made a break for it out of there, Randall revealing himself at that moment, laughing. Claw patted him on the shoulder, saying good job in his own way.

Talon smiled at Randall. "You have skills, Mr. Boggs. You could always stay longer. Anybody is welcome as long as they come in peace." Randall then recalled his best friend, Brooklyn, suddenly missing him. He shook his head. "That's generous, Talon. But I have the Manhattan Clan waiting for me. I really did enjoy spending time with you all, though."

The panther mutate nodded in understanding. "Well, we should get back. Maggie's probably wondering where we are," he said. Randall agreed, climbing onto Talon's back and they flew off back home.

The group made it back near afternoon, where they were happy to be home. Randall stated that all he wanted to do was rest, unaware of a nasty encounter awaiting him, for Fang broke out while he was out with Talon and instructed Boyd to hide in Randall's room to nab him.

Randall yawned; fronds lowered. Fighting was hard work. He climbed under the covers and was about to settle in when someone clamped a cloth over his mouth with a tough hand.

He gave a muffled shout, wiggling, but the human was stronger than him. Randall whimpered when feeling a strange, sweet smell coming out of the cloth; chloroform. The lizard struggled to resist but his eyes grew heavy, limbs feeling weaker. Boyd traced a hand along his neck.

"Nighty night, Lizard. Me boss wants te talk business with you…" sneered Boyd. The lizard slumped in his arms once the drug took hold of it. Boyd smirked, taking the unconscious Randall with him to his and Fang's secret meeting place away from the prison.

….

Meanwhile, Delilah was feeling lonely again, and wanted to try again to talk to Randall. She ventured to Randall's room, unaware that her friend had been kidnapped. She knocked.

"R-Randall? Are you here? Can we try talking again? Please?" No answer. Delilah frowned, opening the door, only to see nobody there but messed up bed sheets. Her eyes widened.

"Where are you?!" she cried in horror, looking around. But he was long gone by now. Panicking, Delilah went to find Talon. Randall was missing and she would search everywhere to find him.

….

Meanwhile, Boyd carried Randall to a secret spot outside the main gates of the Labyrinth, where Fang waited. They managed to set up a temporary HQ. Fang sat in his chair, holding a gun he managed to steal.

The cougar mutate looked up to see his henchman come with his bargaining prize, a fanged smile present. "Well… looky what we got, my very own lizard!" He sneered, as Boyd dropped the unconscious Randall at his feet. Fang stood, nudging him harshly with his foot and talon.

It startled Randall awake. He groaned, rubbing his head, looking around. A voice spoke.

"'Bout time ya woke, freak. We have to talk," hissed a mean voice. Randall swallowed, turning to see a mutate he never saw yet but had heard about him. Fang. He pulled himself back only to be grabbed by Fang's two thugs.

Randall wiggled in their hold. "What the heck do you want from me, oversized housecat?" He snarled. Fang growled, grabbing Randall's fronds, making him yelp in pain.

"Let's just say that you're the key to bringing down the mighty Talon's rule. And your life hangs in my hands. If he refuses me, well…" Fang showed his talons, tracing them across Randall's cheek. Randall cringed, shutting his eyes. He didn't want to be a victim, but it was clear he had no choice.

Randall nodded frantically. "A-alright, just please take your claws off me!" He stuttered. The thugs cackled at his helplessness. Fang grinned. "Lovely. Just keep bein' a good boy and ya won't be harmed. Get me?" He sneered. Another nod from the lizard satisfied him.

"Now here's the plan, boys…"
