People would often run away when Maes Hughes got into one of ithose/i moods. The mood when he would tackle any random person and give them papercuts from the amount of photos that he shoved into their faces. No one wanted to be around him then, and even Roy was guilty of hiding from his best friend. Because Maes was scary, and if people valued their lives, they would run. Though there were always the stupid ones that stopped and humoured Hughes - and only made it worse.

Maes tended to distract himself without realising it a lot. He would pull out a photo and start staring and squealing and would get all excited. And, depending on various things, he could go into one of ithose/i moods, or just continue as normal.

Right now, he was distracted. Which, considering the fact that he was walking along by a road, was quite dangerous. Hence the reason that he had walked into someone. With a startled yelp, he took a step back, lowering the photo he had been drooling over to look at the person he had walked into. Said person was also distracted, it seemed - she had her nose buried in some sort of magazine-comic. Which, strangely enough, had Roy on it. Well, the Colonel had always wanted more publicity. Now he was on magazines. Interesting.

He saw her frown, then glance up at him, then looked back down at what she was reading. Then she looked quickly up at him, her frown deepening, then back down at her book, then back up at him. Maes was just a little bit confused. Did she have a twitchy eye or something? "What're you reading?" He asked slowly, not sure if he actually wanted to know, considering how much it made her eyes twitch. He already had dodgy sight as it is.

She sighed, and Maes took the chance to see what she was wearing. Military trousers. He had never seen her before, though. He couldn't see anything else, because she had a large dark coat on, with pockets that overflowed with paper and various other things. "Do you really want to know?" She asked, and Maes frowned. Was it a hooker magazine? Maybe that explained why Roy was on it. "Uh, sure. But I bet it's not as cute as Elysia!"

She narrowed her eyes at him, blowing a strand of red hair out of her face. Purple eyes, he noted. Strange. Was that colour natural? "Trust me," she said slowly, and Maes saw the beginnings of a smirk on her face. She smirked like Roy .. Evil. "It's a ilot/i cuter than Elysia. Nothing can beat this." Oh, now Maes just ihad/i to see this. Cuter than Elysia? Impossible. But it had woken his curiosity. "Go on. Give me a look."

Chuckling softly, she handed him the comic book. Maes frowned slightly, opening it up. He couldn't see anything cute. Though, his gaze had only sweeped across the page. He turned the page to a picture that took up both pages. His frown deepened. He twitched. Once. Twice. What ... the hell was this? What on Earth was he doing with Roy's ... No. He didn't want to know. Had someone been watching him in the shower again? It was oddly flattering, in some strange way. They had caught his best angle and - no. Nonono.

"Um ... that's ... nice." Maes said slowly, handing the comic back over to the grinning girl. "Told you it was cute, didn't I?" She laughed, and Maes shook his head slightly, a faint blush on his cheeks. "Say hi to Roy for me." Snorting, she turned away, clutching her comic tightly in her hands and walked off down the road, leaving a very scared Maes behind. But, when he searched the military books, he found no traces of someone that fit that description. Odd.
