Staring suspiciously at the jarred insect Sucy was holding, Kenji tapped the glass watching the bee buzz back in annoyance threatening him with her stinger.

'It's a love bee what the hell is it even gonna do?'

Akko and Lotte both had the same blank look on their faces observing the flaunting bee, Kenji could swear that it was checking itself out in the reflection of the glass container.

"So, this is..." Lotte started staring at the insect even more.

"A Cupid Bee?" Akko finished biting down onto her ice cream getting most of it caught on her face.

"This doesn't seem like something you'd buy Sucy...even if it was to tease Akko with, you're more of the turn your friend into a turtle kind of witch.." Kenji added in his own opinion biting a chunk off his ice-lolly.

Sucy grinned at his analysis grinning back at Akko sending a shiver down her spine, "I actually ordered a venomous Bee, they just sent me the wrong one, who knows what I'll do with this now.."

"Could make a love potion that'd be a fun shenanigan to run through.." Kenji quipped taking the container into his hand.

"Wait, wait you two are missing the bigger picture here!" Akko dazzled at the thought jumping over the bench almost pushing Kenji over, "Why don't we let it sting someone I bet it'd be cool!"

'In what way would that be call? I was joking about the love potion!'

Grumbling at his own thoughts, Kenji moved back from the brunette feeling her clumsiness would be the reason the bee would get loose, "Why don't we let it sting you Akko then you might fall in love with Kenji!" She snickered.

Akku's face burst into a deep red hiding her face as she sat back over the bench hearing Kenji give a sigh of relief from behind her, '...I don't want him to sigh like he's happy it won't happen!'

"L-Let's not use this Bee to create feelings that don't exist I'm not sure I could deal with something like that.." Kenji handed the bee back to Sucy leaning against the bench since there was no more room on the seat.

'...Well this got awkward real quick'

Luckily for the tension around the group, a car pulled up beside as if it was on cue for the chapter. Out of it stepped both Hannah and Barbara, much to Kenji's chagrin he'd had enough of those two thanks to school earlier that day.

'There just two cliches rolled up in one..'

"Wow would you look who it is," Hannah spoke in her usually snippy voice clearly showing off her dressed up self to the girls shamefully trying to annoy them.

'..This is so egregious she's not even being subtle'

"Care to explain why you gals are all dolled up, or do you just normally come out of a limo in dresses?" Kenji basked as the two girls quickly became embarrassed glaring back at him.

Hannah composed herself showing off the dress once again, "We were both invited to Count Hanbridge's party.."

Barbara cut herself in, "Andrew Hanbridge's party, he's celebrating the award he got from his prestigious academy!"

"Wow!" Kenji faked sounded interested, glancing around on purpose, "Who the hell asked?"

Akko, Lotte and Sucy all collectively snickered at that watching Hannah and Barbara's face turning bright red from the embarrassment. Kenji smiled at it. He thought back to the night at the fountain.

'Andrew might've been a prick at the beginning, but I think by the end of the night he was alright to deal with he hasn't told anyone about me being from another world'

The car to the limousine opened once again taking Kenji out from his train of thought, out stepped Diana laced in a cyan blue dress that run from her shoulders to the bottom of her ankles, her hair was platted up along with a blue rose necklace hanging round her neck.

Kenji and Diana both made eye contact with each other, the latter being the first to advert her face away from his meekly glancing back at him as if she was expecting him to voice his opinion on how she looked.

"Y-You look n-nice Diana.." Kenji complimented scratching his cheek bashfully.

Akko grumbled even more watching the two of them, "So you're going as well Diana?" She said not even trying to hide how annoyed she sounded.

"W-What..." Diana hadn't quite collected herself yet swaying her hair behind her shoulder.

'...She did it again'

"Of course, I'm going I was invited it would be rude not to. The reason we're here actually is because I can bring a plus one to the party, a-and I was thinking t-that you could come Kenji."

'Eh!?' Kenji thought taken aback.

'Eh!?' Akko copied almost dropping her ice-cream from shock.

Kenji quickly became flustered shuffling his feet, "I don't know Diana, it's not that I don't want to go i-it's just going to a posh party with so many people is already giving me anxiety..."

"Oh yeah you're terrified of places with groups of strangers aren't you," Sucy commented grinning a bit.

"I'm not scared of strangers just groups of people, I just can't speak with them!" Kenji argued flushing red.

Diana giggled at that, "That's fine if you don't want to mingle with anyone else than you can just keep to yourself there, Andrew was actually rather talkative on speaking to you again," She replied civilly holding back a laugh.

'Guess there's no reason to say no, all I have to today is studying so it'd be a fun change of pace..'

"Welllllll, I honestly don't have anything to do so I'll go but don't expect me to mingle with anyone. What am I even going to wear?"

Answering his question, Diana manifested a black tux with her wand handing its cover to him, "You can wear this I had it specially selected incase you agreed to come.."

She handed him the suit along with the hanger getting back into the car, "I hope to see you there," Diana spoke gently closing the door behind her, the limousine sped off leaving a cloud of dust behind it.

Akko was left grumbling on the spot close to breaking her cone in half, "Are you happy Kenji, why they rubbed it in you got a free pass into the party!"

"I was being nice to Diana, she invited me it's not that big of deal stop whining about it if you knew nothing about that party you wouldn't care one bit," Kenji retorted chopping her forehead.

"Y-Yeah well I don't care that you're going with Diana I only care that I can't go it's not fair!" Akko made a 'hmph' sound looking away from his face.

'Tsundere much, she's switching character tropes..'

"You agree right Sucy, Lotte!?" She pestered getting blank look from the both of them.

"Not really because just like Kenji said it doesn't matter.." Sucy replied in a bored manner.

"Can we go now, it's going to get late," Lotte added.

"Yeah, and I've got to get dressed and mentally prepare myself for the stares.."

"No way! I won't let Kenji have all the fun we're sneaking into that party!" Striking a pose, Akko incidentally dropped the blue scoop of ice-cream onto her head spilling it over her head.

'...I've got a really bad feeling that we've just started something'

"Sooo, what exactly are we doing in here this a magic thrift store where are they gonna sell dresses.." Kenji groaned slurping on his milkshake watching Akko shuffle around the store.

"Magic thrift store? I'm not sure I'd like my shop being dumbed down to a name like that," The store clerk commented chuckling slightly at Kenji's remark.

"Are you seriously not going to try and stop her if Akko get's into the party it could get bad," Sucy made her way to Kenji an annoyed look on her face.

"What's the point, you know how this rolls Sucy. Best to just wing it, we get the dresses and I sneak you into the party, honestly, I'm not sure if she's even figured out what she'll do at the party, but if she wants to, I won't get in the way.."

"You really spoil her huh Kenji?" Lotte intervened a sly smile on her face.

"Eh!? What do you mean I spoil her I'm just not going against it there's a difference, we've tried to stop her to do stuff before it just doesn't work," Waving his hand in denial, Kenji sulked at the two girls still smug looks obviously not believing him.

With a harsh glare being delivered at the two. Kenji looked back towards Akko, she was being given a square, rusted box with a golden lock on it.

Akko took it into her hand thankfully walking over to the three, "This is it, we can get to the party this way!"

"We'll throw this out the bouncers head pretty dark Akko," Kenji teased.

"Now's not the time for jokes Kenji c'mon we need to set this spell up!"

Tugging back on her pulling, he waved the suit in her face, "Unlike you, I have an invitation to that party and I still need to get dressed, although a suit definitely isn't my style.." Kenji grumbled.

"What is your style hoodie and blue jeans?" Sucy quipped.

'Dammit...'

Sucy: 1 Kenji: 0

"That's my style when it's the only clothes you've got most of the time, I just were the uniform.." He shrugged exiting the store.

Whilst, Sucy, Akko and Lotte set up the spell a few ways away from the magic thrift store. Kenji observed the tuxedo still not sure it was for him, begrudgingly he began to fit it on tightening up the buttons of the blazar.

'..This is gonna look bad, this is gonna look bad'

Finally turning to look at his appearance, Kenji seemed satisfied with it straightening out the sleeves walking out of the public bathrooms making his way to the small display of grass.

There, Akko had riddled it with stones placed in a specific pattern. Kenji made sure not to knock any of them feeling it would come back to bite him in the future.

"Woah!" Lotte gasped under her breath.

"Kenji.." Akko gleamed at the outfit taking a couple seconds to admire it, "...You clean up nice!" She complimented a faint red streak on her face, Kenji returned the same look quickly becoming flustered.

"T-Thanks.."

Smiling as she whipped out her wand, Akko performed the first part of the spell, "Bibbidi!" She stated.

"Bobbidi.." Lotte added unassuredly.

"Boo.." Sucy finished solemnly.

Nothing happened. Akko steadily approached the metal box, that was until it exploded into a yellow light enveloping the group. All three of them were dressed up in both pink and yellow dresses while Sucy wore a cloak with horns.

Kenji meekly looked Akko up and down turning bright red, "So what do you think Kenji?" Akko purposely asked seeing his flushed face.

"Y-You look nice, that's about it," Kenji dryly complimented walking over to the three-seated bike.

'Dammit who's the goddamn Tsundere now..'

Pouting at the non-compliment, Akko grimaced at the three-seated-bike, "This is the carriage?"

"That's just sad...how am I supposed to ride it there's three seats!?" Kenji explained pulling at his hair.

"You could ride on the middle bars," Sucy suggested.

"We have to hurry the spell says it'll only last 2 hours.." Lotte explained.

'...That's shit, no wonder it never got sold'

"Then we better get moving!" Akko pumped her fist into the air as she began peddling the bike forward.

"Alright, wait here I'll get in a signal you to climb over the wall," Kenji instructed sliding down the rocky hill trying to dirty his suit, he had his invitation in his hand per Diana.

"Don't take too long Kenji or we'll get caught!" Akko whisper-yelled.

"Yeah, Kenji wouldn't want Akko to wait for too long!" Sucy teased.

Kenji didn't bother to look back at her making his way down the hill, "With potions and you involved Sucy the whole process is long might I bring up the whole mushrooms woods incident?"

Watching Sucy's face twist in annoyance, Kenji finally skidded down to the floor of the hill.

Sucy: 1 Kenji: 1

'..Heh'

Making it to the 'bouncer' as Kenji had described him previously, "Sir, you're not allowed in unless you have an invitation."

'Jesus this guys ripped, maybe I shouldn't sneak Akko and the girls in..'

"Y-Yeah I have one here.." Kenji stammered shakily handing it to him.

"Oh, you're with that Cavendish girl you can go right on in," He let Kenji pass much to his relief.

The second he was sure he was out of view he sprinted up to the mansions backyard wall, slinging the rope tucked under his blazar pocket over the towering, brick wall he felt a weight tug back on it kicking his feet against it to keep himself stable.

Eventually, Akko appeared first over the wall tripping just as she was about to hop down, '...Shit!'

In a split-second she tumbled on top of him slumping the two of them to the ground, "Owwwwww.." Akko whined, "S-Sorry K-Kenji I'll get off you!"

Sucy couldn't help but grin as she lowered herself with the rope, "Just couldn't help yourself could you Kenji, we were only behind the wall for a couple seconds."

"S-Shut up she just fell!" Kenji denied once again helping Akko and himself up from the ground.

'..I've never noticed but Akko's really light'

He shook off the thought dusting his suit off checking for any spots of dirt, "A-Alright anyway you three stay here for a couple minutes, I should go in by myself or else I'll look too suspicious..."

Once he'd finished his explanation, Kenji eyed Akko seriously, "And I do mean a couple minutes alright don't go in the second I leave alright?" He pointed at her with his eyes once again slowly backing away.

'Yeah, who's spoiling who now Sucy!'

Finally making it into the party, Kenji was amazed by the pure amount of food displayed out like a buffet. A bright chandelier hung over the main hall shining down onto the neatly displayed piano.

'...Woah, this is amazing I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that's even this big!'

"Ah Kenji you made it!" A gentle voice called out to him the sound of heels hitting the ground, Kenji smiled slightly waving over to Diana as she approached him, "And I see you wore the suit I picked it suits you!"

Diana had a faint blush on her cheeks while she said that fixing the tie that hung loosely round his neck.

"I couldn't not show up. Plus, I looked better in a suit than I thought I would.." Kenji took a sweeping glance of the hall suddenly finding himself becoming increasingly more nervous.

'...There're so many people!'

"Kenji are you alright you look anxious?" Diana queried worriedly.

"F-fine I'm fine j-just a little nervous there are a lot of strangers here.."

'Maybe I should've told Akko that was the reason I don't like conventions..'

To the side of them, Akko, Lotte and Sucy snuck into the party already bedazzled by the assortment of food. Kenji hadn't seen them yet however, too focused on the group approaching him, with Andrew at the front.

'...Kenji's over there, with Diana as well'

That left a sour taste in Akko's mouth, they both seemed to be getting along with each other, and Andrew wasn't far behind them.

'..Well I'm glad he's having fun' With a pout, Akko began to stuff her face with some cake.

"Ah Kenji I'm glad we could meet each other again, it's been a while since we've seen each other with that whole fountain incident," Andrew explained calmly shaking hands with him.

"...Heh yeah that was an ordeal, but it all worked out, didn't it?" Kenji showed off the crystal hung round his neck, "..Although I haven't had much like with finding anything else out.."

"Oh, I remember you!" Frank, Andrew's friend pointed out, "You're the first boy they've allowed at Luna Nova!"

'Is that who I'm known as?'

Kenji scratched his hair sheepishly, "Guess I am, although it's not like it's changed all that much.."

The table behind them rattled uncontrollably, Kenji didn't need to look back to know who the source of the noise was. His fears were answered when Andrew and Diana eyed Akko stuffing herself with cake at the back of the table.

'...Mission abort, ABORT!'

"Akko what are you doing here?" Diana asked seemingly annoyed by her presence.

"Yes, I have the same question I don't remember you being invited to this party?" Andrew added.

Akko puffed her cheeks out in annoyance stomping her foot on the ground, "Well I invited myself, there shouldn't be a problem with that I'm just as much of a guest as anyone else!"

"Of course, twisted reasoning from a witch.." Andrew paused as Akko got even more heated, "..I'll have to ask you and your friends to leave."

"We really can't stay!?" Akko exclaimed.

As the two argued even further, Kenji glanced over to Sucy who was fiddling with container holding the Cupid Bee. He immediately realised what she was doing signalling for her to stop.

She mouthed a sly remark to him, 'Let's see how much you spoil her now?'.

'Dammit! Not the time Sucy!'

Sucy: 2 Kenji: 1

The bee flapped from the jar to the back of Andrews neck stabbing him in it, "Ouch!" He slapped his neck at the pain falling to his knees.

'..Shit'

Kenji was in full crisis mode, Andrew was currently fawning over Akko the Cupid Bee flying away. As he went to kiss her hand, he intercepted pulling Akko up, "Okay! That's enough Akko Sucy let the Cupid Bee lose we need to find it fast!" He explained into her ear.

"S-So that's why he was treating me like that m-makes sense.." Akko blushed tightening her grip around Kenji's hand.

'...Huh what is she doing?'

"Don't say anything you'll make it weird.."

Akko glanced to Diana who wore an envious look in her eyes as she watched Akko stroll round the hall with Kenji in tow, 'Was Akko...was she jealous?'

His thoughts drifted off once he spotted the bee, '...No time for that we have to get that bee!'

Lotte noticed it as well following after it, "Wait up!" She called jogging past Frank and his friends, the bee stung all four of them just as she went past. Their eyes gleamed at her.

They all instantly kneeled down before her, "Dear maiden what is your name?"

"Um I'm Lotte Yanson.." She meekly responded.

'Looks like Lotte's having fun..'

"Kenji hurry! The Cupid Bee went this way!" Akko explained pulling him near the stairs.

"I won't let you have her!" Andrew cried out pushing Kenji out of the way. In seconds he cornered Akko to a wall attempting to pull her into a kiss, Kenji reacted instantly pulling Andrew back.

"Buddy you're way off line! Don't go trying to kiss girls you barely know!"

"That's right I understand completely!" Andrew paused as if mulling it over to himself, "You must be my love rival after Akko's heart as well!"

Kenji blushed at the declaration denying it immediately, "N-No, no it's not like that I'm her friend so stop being a creep you may have been stung by that bee but your still being weird!"

Andrew looked flabbergasted at the outburst allowing Kenji, Akko and Sucy to book it upstairs after the escaping Cupid Bee.

"AKKOOOOO!" He cried out passionately clearly chasing after them.

Pulling them behind a podium, Kenji hid them all from Andrew as he darted down the other hallway.

"Alright Sucy spill how do we stop this before it gets out of hand?" Kenji pestered her for an answer.

"I don't know...maybe we should just enjoy this I means this'll be the first and last time Akko will ever have a boy like her," Sucy insulted the brunette nonchalantly.

'...That's gotta cut deep'

"Yeah, your right- wait no we don't have time for this, the dresses will run out soon!" As Akko ranted Sucy fixed her wand onto a fan dusting a potion over it.

"If you use this to smash the Cupid Bee it should break the spell.."

'..That's convenient

Akko wasted no time leaping from the floor sprinting after the bee, Kenji followed close behind while Sucy made a note of keeping a distance behind them. Once they turned another corner, Kenji spotted Diana running towards them.

"Diana-" He cut himself off watching the Cupid Bee sting her.

'Gotta hide!'

He and Sucy ducked behind the corner whilst Akko ran right into her. She was caught right in the line of sight of Diana her pupils sparkling into heart shapes, "Akko, how could I have been so cold to you because now my heart just burns for you!"

'Alright that's enough..'

Kenji grabbed her by the wrist once again running with her ducking out a nearby window into the mansions garden.

He and Akko spotted Andrew by a fountain hiding behind a nearby pillar.

Just as they were about to make another getaway, they overheard another voice scolding him, '...His dad?'

"How have you allowed three witches to peruse themselves into a party, not to mention you invited that boy divulged in his own delusions wanting to become a witch like everyone else at that forsaken school.."

'..Alright, it's official this guys pissing me off'

"What a jerk," He heard Akko murmur.

"Magic is an evil craft left over from old times, I want to make sure that this world is handled by our hand and our hand alone!" Andrew's father now stood to face him, "It's just like when I told you to quit piano, you had no need for such frivolous things and yet you still wanted to play it.."

"But father.." Andrew scrunched his face up, "..I haven't played in ten years just as you instructed."

"Good! You'll be a great governor one day you don't have time for such distractions, don't grow to become a failure.."

Having heard enough, Kenji began walking over to the father and son, "W-Wait no Kenji don't you'll make a mess of things!" Akko whisper-yelled pulling on his suit.

"Akko, I have to say something, it's not right for his dad to say that to him.." She silently nodded at his remark letting go off his sleeve.

"You're not a very good father, are you?" Kenji started off walking over to them.

'Gah! Kenji you can't start a conversation like that!'

"You, you're the boy Andrew invited what right do you have to speak to me like that! In my home no less!" His father snapped glaring back at Kenji.

"You can't push your own feelings onto your son it's not right!" Kenji yelled back flailing his arms up, "If you wanna be some politician then fine! But don't make it your sons deal let him live his own life!"

Both Andrew and his father were taken aback by the outburst, the old man grumbled random curses as he stomped off in a fit of rage.

"Why would you say such a thing to my father he'll surely get you kicked out now!" Andrew yelled at him a confused look on his face.

"So, you're just going to kick us out then huh!?" Akko exclaimed marching over to him, "Kenji's right you need to stand up for yourself!"

"You two wouldn't understand, I have standards I have to keep up.."

"Who cares about standards you should care about what you want!"

Akko chucked the swatter she was supposed to use on the Cupid Bee at Andrew, "Well, I get that you want to do your duty but..!" She skipped across the fountain twirling on the spot.

Kenji didn't bother to speak up shifting his hands into his pockets, '...Guess there's no point stopping her, she's really incredible'

"..I do have a dream! I want to become a witch just like Shiny Chariot! I might just be a witch in training, but I'm going to make sure I keep trying my best!" Akko explained spinning on her feet.

"Akko's right," Kenji added, "I need to keep trying harder to get home, and I have Akko and everyone to help me do the best that I can!"

'Although she's still one hell of an airhead..'

"Hey I heard that Kenji you said it out loud again!"

'I gotta stop doing that..'

"You're pretty cute Akko," Andrew smiled warmly at her.

'Right, I forgot he's still under the spell'

Akko wasn't that fazed by the compliment giving Kenji an ominous stare, "Well Kenji have you got anything to say to that?" She pouted, but it wasn't enough for him to notice.

"Don't worry Andrew you're only saying that because you're under a spell from being stung by a bee.." Akko huffed watching the Cupid Bee float past Andrew and back into the mansion.

"Alright I think it's about time we squash that bug.." Kenji suggested eyeing Akko who was already running beside him.

"Right let's stomp this bug!" She smiled back tripping over her own feet.

Akko and Kenji darted after the bee. They skidded after it, Kenji had another swatter in hand thanks to Sucy. He dipped under one of it's sting attempts, as the Cupid Bee planted onto the piano keys.

"Akko do it now!" Closing his eyes, not wanting a repeat of what had happened 4-chapter prior.

Holding nothing back, Akko slammed the swatter onto the piano echoing the off-key sound around the hall. Kenji let out an exasperated sigh at her, 'She really has no restraint huh..'

From the crowd, Andrew's father returned clearly about to tell them to leave.

Kenji went to hold him back but was stopped when Andrew stepped into the room, "Attention everyone! Miss Kagari and Mr Otsuka have both located a bee in the premises and are trying to extinguish it.."

"Make sure you two deal with this I'll keep the party handled for now.."

Shooting up from underneath the piano, the Cupid Bee blurred around the room, Akko followed after it frantically whipping the swatter around trying to have any chance of squashing it.

'I'll corner it! Two swatters are better than one!'

He weaved through the crowd. He was on the opposite side of the hall his eyes locked on the insect.

The bee began to sting every stranger in the room forcing them all to fall hopelessly in love with each other. Kenji swung forward now only a couple metres away from it.

It ducked under the swatter flying back up the stairs, "Don't worry Kenji I've got it!"

Akko slid down the banister trying to hit the bee, but to no avail.

Just as the bee was about to escape, Kenji slapped from the side spinning it through the air splatting it across Andrew's father's forehead.

"Do it now Akko!"

She sprung off from the banister darting at the now stagnant bee, throwing the swatter forward squashing the Cupid Bee completely.

'..Did it work?'

Everyone at the party become to break away from the spell, shaking there heads in confusion. Diana finally looked away from her own reflection and Andrew stopped playing the piano.

"Yes, I finally hit it!" Akko celebrated pumping her fists into the air.

"Thank god that's over..." Kenji and Sucy both sighed in unison.

Akko patted Andrew's back, "Nice work Andrew that was some nice piano playing.."

"Why of course it was," Andrew paused straightening his tie, "I am perfect after all."

'What a goddamn tsundere..'

"So, I take it we saved the party we can stay right?"

"Did you really think they'd let us stay?" Sucy questioned dryly.

Akko sagged even lower sulking over her dress that had transformed back into her school uniform, "Yeah I guess you're right...but we saved the party they didn't have to be so selfish!" She shouted out loud, "..Although."

The brunette turned to Lotte who was staring at the ground, "Lotte one of those guys were actually interested in you why didn't you go out with him?"

"Yeah, I was flattered that he was interested in me but we didn't know each other that well.." Lotte explained sorrowfully.

"Guess that makes sense," Kenji spoke up having kept quiet for most of the walk, "Honestly, he seemed like a decent guy maybe you should've asked to go out as friends.."

"I said we could start off as them, but who knows where it could go from there...but what about you Kenji?"

"Huh?" He replied looking back at her, Akko did the same.

"Yeah, Kenji you and Diana really seemed to be getting along I mean she did invite you to the party," Sucy added grinning to herself.

Kenji blushed at the accusation, "N-No I don't think Diana thinks of me like that, besides even if I did, I'm from another world I seriously doubt that would work out," He explained.

"Oh, sure like you wouldn't want to go out with Diana, Kenji!" Akko teased skipping over to him.

'T-Too close'

"C-Can we just get back, we'll miss our curfew."

"Oh, I'll make hot chocolate for when we get back to the dorms let's hurry!" Lotte suggested.

Akko eventually left Kenji's personal space leaving him a flustered mess, 'Dammit why does she always do that, does she have no idea about distance'

'Why am I still embarrassed she's not even looking at me anymore..'

For some reason when Kenji placed his hand on his chest, his heart was still beating loudly he was afraid it was loud enough for the other to notice, 'Oh no...'

He looked back at Akko one last time staring at her sparkling red eyes, '...I've fallen for an airhead'
