"Grand Triskelion? Are you sure that's what she said?"

The question came from an intrigued Diana, she was practically leaning over the table she was sat on in the cafeteria. Hannah and Barbara seemed all to confused as to the conversation choosing to eat their food quietly.

"Yeah, said I'm some kind of 'out-looker'...whatever that means," Kenji air quoted with his fingers fiddling with the crystal in his hands.

"And you're sure another one of the seven words were spoken?" She pestered onwards, still somewhat unconvinced.

Kenji smiled in both annoyance and amusement calming her down, "Well, if it's how you explained it then I'm pretty sure she did, it wasn't any language I understood anyway..." He brushed his hair past his ear distracting Diana a little.

'I really should get a haircut...I was offered by one of those trolls, but that just felt...wrong to me'

"So, it's true, Akko can say use it..." She acknowledged quietly, sounding somewhat disappointed.

"Yeah, I guess...although those whole Seven words of Arcturus still don't make any real sense to me," He said scratching his cheek meekly.

An awkward silence filled their conversation, they didn't know whether to continue it or end it. Diana coughed as she usually did whenever she felt nervous catching his attention.

"Sorry for wasting your time with something this silly, just when you told me what happened I couldn't help but wonder..." Diana trailed off slightly.

Kenji waved her off, his expression acting as if she was "I guess I should get going...although it's not like there's anything interesting going on at my table," Veering his thoughts elsewhere, his eyes travelled to his actual table...where Akko currently had food lodged up her nose.

'I like her...something in my hormones must've got mixed up'

"Yeah, whatever's going on over there...it better not involve my food," Kenji hurried away from the table looking back to Akko once more, "Try not get too nervous or else you'll lose your whole upper-class persona.."

With a teasing grin, Kenji finally turned away from the table unware of Diana flustered face. Hannah and Barbara did however, continuing to eat their food a suspicious glint entering their eyes.

As he returned a familiar news-anchor witch charged in front of him tossing newspapers around the cafeteria as if they were flower petal, "Oh it's the boy that goes to Luna Nova, kinda forget you even go here..." She commented.

"Yeah, yeah that makes a lot of sense actually..." Kenji admitted albeit a little solemnly.

"Well, you should really check this out, although we've all adjusted to you being here there are a bunch of witches are coming for the Samhain Festival, who are extremely curious that they let a boy in here..."

'Now that I know that a dude been here before this doesn't make this all that surprising...'

"Samhain Festival? No idea what that is, but I'll take your word for it...any idea what they'll want with me. Wait they won't kick me out right!?" He exclaimed already starting get more and more panicked.

"Mmmm...beats me, try not to get expelled!" With that, the reporter was back to work skipping through the room fluttering newspaper around.

'Uh...thoughts to worry about later'

Finally reaching his destination, Kenji slumped down only to be met with a cold breakfast, "Damn..." He muttered.

"Yeah, Kenji your food got all cold because you were spending so much time flirting with Diana!" Akko scoffed mockingly clearly irritated.

"Don't get all upset just because your jealous Akko," Sucy commented watching the red erupt into the brunette's face.

"SHUT UP SUCY THAT IS NOT IT!" She blurted out a little too loudly.

Lotte nervously veered her eyes between the two, deciding to change the subject, "But Akko, you should be more excited about all of the witches coming to the Samhain Festival.."

Instantly, Akko's entire grumpy and uninterested demeanour completely evaporated switching to a gleeful dance as she wore starry eyes, "Yeah, that's right I heard that Shiny Chariot was the Moonlit Witch, so I have to be it to!"

'She really admires Chariot; I'd love to have someone like that to like up to. Best I had was Spider-Man, not exactly a real person though...'

"Yeah, sure I say go for it Akko..." Kenji responded leaning his head back against the wooden chair.

Akko stared at Kenji as if she were a deer in headlights, her face had turned a bright red, "H-Huh you mean you actually believe I can do it Kenji!?" She seemed surprised judging by her tone, also a little giddy like a schoolgirl who'd just been praised for how tasty how Valentine's chocolate was.

"Yeah, what's your point?"

"Y-You never really say anything like that, usually it's just your dry, sarcastic comments..." Akko responded, now a little bit embarrassed.

"Ehhhh, it's not like that..." Kenji flipped up to meet eyes with her, "I'm just like to comment on a lot of things, that's just how I am. Don't worry I believe in you...most of the time."

Akko couldn't control herself, whipping into him squeezing Kenji with a tight hug.

"PDA..." Sucy coughed into her hand instantly separating the two.

Both of them immediately separated, Kenji grumbled to himself to keep it all together, "That's one to you.." He murmured at her, flipping her the finger getting another in return.

Sucy: 1 Kenji: 0

The school bung rung interrupting every one of them, they all began to scatter to pick up their belonging rushing to the main hall for assembly, 'Shit I forgot to ask...what the hell is the Samhain Festival!?'

'Oh...guess this answers my question'

Now in the main hall, Kenji fixed his clearly baggy uniform as he listened to every one of the teachers explain the Samhain festival to them. To be honest, it sounded completely dull and boring, he didn't like festival or anything to do with a huge crowd of strangers but a boring festival was a thousand times worse.

He shuffled over to Sucy and Lotte, "Does this not seem a little...boring?" He said in a hushed voice.

The two girls nodded in agreement, "Yeah we didn't really wanna say anything that would burst Akko's bubble but..." Lotte paused.

Sucy finished for her, "...Yeah, it's a bunch of old traditions that need to catch up with the times, it's just like you said it's completely and utterly boring..."

'Couldn't have put it better myself...'

"You will all be divided into teams to do certain activities for the festival..." As Miss Holbrooke continued her explanation, Kenji found himself growing more and more uninterested in what she was saying.

'This is a mandatory event festival; I can't even avoid IT!'

Akko suddenly tugged on his uniform, clearly excited, "Kenji, Kenji! I know it's kind of boring, but we have to try hard ok, so I can prove that I'm the Moonlit Witch!"

Yet again, Kenji wanted to put her down just a little, especially with his boredom beginning to take over, but her smile and excitement was slightly contagious. He smirked in response patting her head for a second, "Yeah sure, let's do whatever we can."

After the tedious and boring explanation that Kenji was sure about 5% of the student body listened, everyone headed back to their usual classes for the day. Heading over to the weird wide desk in the classroom, he'd always thought they looked to long he realized they were doing some sort of draw.

Kenji had been an acquitted and originally unwanted fourth member of Akko's group, at least when he first arrived, he liked to think he fit in just fine now.

'I've really been here 5 months...'

The draw had already begun, both he, Akko, Sucy and Lotte all stood perfectly still none of them even daring to go up and pick, "So is anyone going up?" Kenji finally broke the tension leaning over the line that was forming.

"Akko you go..." Sucy didn't hesitate to pin it on her deciding she should be the one to pick.

"No way! I've got terrible luck with lotteries!" She denied shaking her head rapidly, "Lotte you go!"

The ginger haired girl meekly shook her head in denial, "I'm not very good at them either..."

"If I go up then we'll probably get one that wasn't even part of the draw..." Sucy commented just a defiant as the other two.

The three quickly broke out into a small argument, much to the chagrin of Kenji and the class who just stood there and watched.

Growing more and more impatient, Kenji wacked each and every one of them round the head to shut them up, "Enough! I'll just go and get it, my luck on lotteries is 50/50, since I've taken two and a won 50 tickets in an arcade in one of them..."

Exhaling a deep breath, Kenji was finally relieved standing behind what looked like Diana, he recognised her platinum blonde hair instantly, "So what are you gonna get, little-miss perfect...well what's the best for odd jobs for a festival," Kenji joked looking over her shoulder at the...plant pot?

'God this school...'

As expected, Diana picked at the stem of the plant pulling it out to reveal a gold glowing plant, "You're in charge of summoning!" The plant cheered in a sing-song voice.

Kenji had no idea what it meant but judging everyone's reaction and some annoyance it was a good thing, "Summoning's the best thing you can get!" Someone yelled out.

Diana held a cocky smile strutting past him, Kenji watched her go plucking one of the stems out without even hesitating, this one came out purple looking almost as glum as Sucy, "Uhhh...you're the sacrifices," He spat out dryly.

"What the hell is that?" Kenji questioned aloud dangling the plant back and forth.

"Kekeke..." Miss Lukic cackled lowly, "..You don't know what it is, I suppose I'll have to explain it then...you see during the festival, from an ancient jar Vajoris the grieving erupts, as the sacrifices it's your job to get eaten by Vajoris so he can hibernate to the next Samhain Festival..."

"WHAT!" Kenji bellowed.

"We're gonna die!" Akko yelled out alongside him.

"Don't be alarmed, you'll be safely excreted from the creature's bowels.." Miss Finnelan explained.

"That's gross..." Akko whined grimacing back a bit.

Kenji did the same, sinking his face into his hand's humiliation being the only thing he could think of.

"I wanna go HOME!" Kenji sulked further into Lotte's bed, he'd taken the top bunk leaning over the gap towards the ladder, "Sacrifices, who permits students to be goddamn sacrifices, we got detention for going to a convention!"

"I know! Luna Nova really needs to learn where to draw the line, Vajoris is so stupid crying just because they lost their friends centuries ago, get over it!" Akko groaned kicking a legs up in annoyance slumping back onto her bed.

"You two are so emotional, can't you just get it over and done with?" Amanda snickered enjoying the entertainment.

Kenji leaned over the bed, staring Amanda straight in the eyes, "Usually yes, I'm down to anything as long as I get some form of enjoyment or I have to do it. But seriously c'mon Amanda, you're telling me you wanna get eaten?"

"Hell no..." She deadpanned staring him back, just as intently.

"I only agree that the reason there a ghost is stupid, she had no friends so what..." Sucy spoke up.

"I think that's just you Sucy..." Lotte replied.

Jasminka tossed a popcorn cornel through the air landing it directly in Kenji's mouth, 'So gooddd'

"Uhhhh...this is so annoying. Now my chances of becoming the Moonlit Witch are over..."

Hearing that, Amanda flipped up staring at Akko blankly. Kenji understood why, he was sure she was about to give her a harsh reality. He hadn't done the same for the fact that she'd been trying a lot lately, especially with the amount of training she'd done with Professor Ursula.

"What you wanna be the Moonlit Witch, no way!"

"I'm not sure there's a likely chance of you becoming the Moonlit Witch Akko especially with Diana in our school, with the high-class family she comes from I doubt she doesn't have a good chance..." Lotte agreed with Amanda's comment.

"Yeah, I gotta agree," Amanda said solemnly.

Kenji leaped down the ladder cutting Akko off before she could speak, "Geez you guys are so down about everything, don't get me wrong Diana's pretty amazing I've seen that first hand, but if Shiny Chariot can become it then why not Akko..."

Akko smiled once again turning to Lotte, "Yeah that's right, anyone can begin the Moonlit Witch don't you want to Lotte," She questioned.

"Not really, I'm mainly here to learn magic so I can take over my parents magical cafe..." She replied.

'Huh really...she's gotta take us there some time..'

Sucy rocked back and forth a creepy grin over her, "I'm actually pretty excited to get eaten..." She murmured to herself.

"Of course, you are...I'd honestly be surprised if you weren't," Kenji acknowledged somewhat disappointed.

"Just forget it Akko, how are you gonna become a Moonlit Witch if you can't even fly a broom?" Amanda cut her off once again, "Hell even Kenji can do that with his weird crystal.."

Akko began to sulk even more, puffing her cheeks out as everyone in the room agree with Amanda's comment, "...It was just bad luck Akko, we couldn't have known what Kenji would draw, I think we should just move on and have our team meet-"

"YOU GUYS ARE THE WORST!" With that, Akko burst from the room slamming the door behind her.

Kenji sighed dropping his shoulders a bit, "I should probably go after her, I forget how harsh girls can be. Usually, I'd be alright with calming her down and just getting it over with, but couldn't you have let her off?"

Amanda hummed for a second before slapping him on the back, "Hah! Guess you're right, we're her friends aren't we supposed to be honest with her?" She spoke in a sweet tone clearly making fun of him.

"You know that's not what I meant...I'll get going in a minute but first. Constanze." Kenji alerted the inventor to his presence finally getting her to look up from the small robot she was tinkering with.

Kenji shuffled around the desk in the girl's bedroom, he'd brought it in with him but had kept it hidden as to not show anyone, he rolled the parchment out, "Uh... well, I found out that this map has some kind of instructions for an invention, I think's it's a portal...I don't know how to activate it but I was wondering...if."

The more Kenji tried to explained, the more he watched Constanze blankly pick up her robot and exit the room, not uttering a word to any of them.

"D-Did I...did I say something wrong?" Kenji turned to the girls a look of distress over his face that they couldn't feel sorry for.

Jasminka shook her head, with Amanda doing the same, "Don't think so. I've asked her to make me a motor for my broom like her, I'm not allowed it anymore for...reasons and she didn't seem to mind.."

"Mmmm...yeah she made me a dispensable popcorn machine," Jasminka said lowly.

Kenji lowered his hand, rolling the scroll up once more, "Uh...ok I'll sort that out later, let's just hope she doesn't hate me or anything. Lotte can you look after this or put it somewhere safe, I'm gonna after Akko if anything magical happens than don't wait up!"

Just like Akko, Kenji was gone in a flash his footsteps echoing down the hallway.

'Damn...Akko can sure run fast, I left only a couple seconds after her'

"Now, now it's still undecided if I'll become the Moonlit Witch," The prim and proper voice that Kenji recognised was approaching from behind him.

"C'mon Diana, who else will have any competition against you, your incredible!" A with complimented her yet again having her own fangirl moment. They praises stopped when Kenji flipped around to face her.

"Kenji?" She questioned tilting her head at his sudden arrival.

"Yo...yeah Akko kind of ran off after we had an argument about the whole sacrifice thing, have you seen her around?"

"Being a sacrifice suits Akko and her friends though, I think you should all just accept it.." The other girl snickered laughing at him.

Diana stepped in front of them, calming them down, "Sorry about that, it's bad how the oh so charming Kenji Otsuka is getting made fun of, and no I haven't seen her although knowing her she's probably sulking in a room elsewhere.." She stepped to the side whispering in his ear so the other witches couldn't hear.

Kenji smiled actually blushing a bit, "Yeah, yeah I get it thanks.." He waved her off trudging down the hallway.

He walked past another room swearing he could hear Akko muttering to herself, "Akko you in here-"

The moment he walked in he was met with a magical mirror about with what looked like Diana's reflection through it, even though it was definitely Akko standing in front of it.

"Your jealous, aren't you? You want to be like Diana, so that maybe you have a chance of becoming the Moonlit Witch," The sneering lookalike of Diana openly mocked her much to Akko's horror.

"Hey what the hell are you doing!? What kind of mirror is this!" Kenji rushed in front of it, semi-hiding Akko from view.

The mirror version of Diana cocked an even darker grin, "Ah you, you just want to go home. Not to mention confess your true feelings, yet your too scared of the consequences of leaving and being rejected."

Kenji somewhat stepped back a bit, shaken up by a clearly the mirror version of himself had outed him, "Kenji you ok, you don't look so good.." Akko's originally sulky and scared demeanour was gone, now more concerned for the brunette.

"Yeah, just a little taken aback...what the hell is this mirror?" He shook his head to keep himself standing.

"I don't know I heard Diana say it was cursed or something, we should get out of here..." Akko decided somewhat worriedly.

"I don't think so..." The mirror version of herself returned now standing beside Kenji, "We can't let you both walk away like this, don't worry will sort out your pitiful problems."

In seconds, the mirror doppelgangers stepped out of the cursed object now standing either side of them. The only difference to compare between the four of them was the darker looks in their eyes, as well as the fact they were both holding hands.

"Don't wait up!" The other Akko smirked exiting the room with the other Kenji before the real ones can do anything.

"What the hell just happened!?" Kenji exclaimed.

"I don't know, we better go after them before they do anything!" Akko grabbed Kenji's wrist dragging him out of the room.

'Damn...Akko can sure run fast, I left only a couple seconds after her'

It had only been a couple of minutes since they'd left the room, they mirror clones couldn't have done too much damage, right? After all, it was still just there bodies the worst they could do was embarras them beyond belief.

'Well, at least I'll eventually get back home so they embarrassment will subside!'

"Ah this is so annoying, I was supposed to go to the principal to sort out our sacrifice job, but now I'm even further from becoming the Moonlit Witch!" Akko whined even louder this tone beginning to run out of breath.

Kenji blinked in surprise at her bringing it up, "Akko, I'm not sure this is the time to be worrying about that! Those doppelgangers could be messing up a lot of shit for us!"

"Right! We'll take them down and then I'll get to become the Moonlit Witch!" She cheered skipping ahead of him.

'So, one-note...I can get what the girls were talking about now'

They skirted around the next corner of the building, met with a path of destroyed curtains, thrown over pixies and goblin and Miss Finnelan and Holbrooke standing gobsmacked in the midst of it all.

'Oh no...'

Akko didn't hesitate to run ahead of it all, Kenji's theory was confirmed when the teaches and goblins gave them both death glares, "You two!" Miss Finnelan growled practically leaping at them both.

"Wait, wait, wait it wasn't us!" Kenji skidded in front of her holding his hand out praying it would stop her.

"Some freaky mirror made weird mirror versions of us came out I swear Miss Finnelan. Come on we're a little destructive on accident, but we wouldn't do something like this!" Kenji explained begging her to believe him.

Before either one of them could wait for the teachers reply, Kenji spotted himself out of the window in the foyer.

"Akko let's go there right there!" Kenji reached for her hand this time bringing her down the hallway, Miss Holbrooke turned to inspect the foyer her eyes widening at the two other versions of the couple.

"Oh my..."

The mirror Akko was currently defacing the statue outside, much to the horror of all the students outside.

"HEY STOP!" Akko declared pointing directly at her, "Don't get in my way, I have to become the Moonlit Witch!"

"Seriously Akko!" Kenji scolded her from around the corner.

"Why are doppelgangers so annoying, like all the time seriously..." Kenji huffed now right behind her.

For a second, the clones seemed shocked and annoyed. The mirror Kenji clicked his teeth jumping down from the statue running at Kenji, 'Oh shi-' He tackled him to the ground beginning to wrestle the brunette.

Akko was about to do the same before her other self-spoke up, "C'mon, you said you want to be better than Diana, the Moonlit Witch you still want that don't you?"

The crimson eyed girl struggled to reply, her thoughts wavering slightly, "See, look!" The mirror version of her suddenly morphed into Diana continuing to deface the statue.

"I can become Diana and ruin her reputation, look watch this! Hey everyone I used metamorphic magic to make myself look like Akko; I can't believe I get to deface all of this!" She declared continued to kick at the stone.

Surprisingly, Akko didn't move to stop here. Stood still, trying to decide what to do.

"Akko! What the hell are you doing! Stop her!" Kenji yelled, now pinning his other self to the ground.

"You really forget how we weak we are.." He chuckled dryly much to his clone's chagrin.

'This is such a tired plotline'

Moving before Akko, a green ray of light hit the transforming clone of Akko in the chest ricocheting off of her into the mirror version of Kenji dispelling them both within a matter of seconds.

"Oh, that sure was scary are you two alright...I'm terribly sorry I thought I'd gotten rid of that cursed mirror years ago..." Miss Holbrooke apologized seemingly appearing out of thin air.

Akko let out a sigh of relief going ahead to talk to Miss Holbrooke acting as if the entire confrontation never happened, "Akko! What the hell was that!" Kenji yelled catching her attention, flinched from how loud he sounded.

"You were gonna let that mirror version of you do whatever it wanted with not only you face but Diana's to! All so you could become some stupid Moonlit Witch! I get that it meant a lot to you but Diana's reputation was on the line and those clones were causing a lot of trouble and you were just gonna let that slide, what to be like Chariot would she have let that happen!?"

Kenji didn't stop only taking a second to catch his breath, Akko didn't dare to interrupt she'd only seem him angry a couple of times and usually it wasn't a good thing to try and but into it.

"If that's how you're going to act after you sulk and don't get your way, then you don't deserve to be the Moonlit Witch, what happened to the Akko who, just last week denied the opportunity to be amazing at magic and batted of a giant ghost! You can't just let a clone run rampant just to get your way, if you are willing to do that then Diana definitely deserves it more than you!"

Akko stood in her own guilt, it wasn't the usual scolding or casual remark from Kenji. He was genuinely upset, and she wasn't exactly sure how she'd make it up to him.

'Uh...I'm so stupid!'

A few hours had passed since the whole mirror clone incident, Akko had run off to the broom perch that overlooked most of Luna Nova. She clutched the Shiny Rod nervously, her feeling beginning to bottle up.

"Why did I have to do that, I got all muddled up about becoming the Moonlit Witch and I messed everything up!" Akko yelled at herself kicking her legs up in frustration once more, "Compared to Diana I'm just..."

"Is it right, that I heard that you wanted to become the Moonlit Witch?" Ursula voice came from behind her startling Akko upwards.

"Professor Ursula..." Akko gasped flipping upwards.

The blue-haired teacher smiled thoughtfully, "...How come you're up here, I heard about what happened at school with those mirror clones. But it all got sorted out right?"

Akko frowned even more shuffling into her knees, "I messed things up, just because I wanted to be better than Diana! And now Kenji's and a me, I don't like it...Diana would never do something like that, she's better than me in every way.."

"He's always talking to her...I don't know about what, I don't like it I just want to be like Chariot, she was incredible if I can do that then maybe he'll look at me even more while I become a great witch..." She sulked.

Ursula chucked at her own sulking, "Well, if you say you messed up then you'll just have to fix it won't you? I imagine that Shiny Chariot made a lot of mistakes back when she went to school," She explained managing to catch Akko's attention.

"I'd imagine if she was here right now, she'd say something along the lines of, don't try and compare yourself to others because they all of one thing that only they can do!"

"Now...you can do what you need to with this Shiny Rod..."

Akko was left a little speechless staring the seven glowing orbs along the rod in wonder, Ursula was beginning to leave before she could do anything.

The Shiny Rod suddenly lit up, projecting out Shiny Chariot to Akko. She was once again demonstrating her magic, showing off to whoever's POV was being displayed in front of her.

"Arae Aryrha!" Chariot shouted the incantation again and again, messing it up at first before she slowly began to get the hang of it performing spells that projected her up into the air.

'But this has to be her practice for getting picked as the Moonlit Witch, isn't it?'

"It's amazing isn't it!" Chariot cheered out once more, looking towards the figure again.

'...Or was it for someone else'

"Arae Aryrha..." Akko muttered again.

The Shiny Rod dispersed the memory glowing even brighter than before, "That it...I know what I have to do for the festival, to make it up to Kenji..."

Ursula watched from her broom, it was only floating a few feet above where Akko stood, "...I never expected Akko to fall for-" She cut herself off smiling slightly, "Well if it'll get her moving forward more, than I'm rooting for her."

She floated off into the night, her red eyes shining against the moon.
