Chapter 5

Elena

It's 7 pm and Mom and I just got done our shift at the medical center. I work under Dr. Lily Salvatore. Come to find out, she is actually Damon's mom. I never would've guessed. I mean, maybe in the eyes but that's about it. Her hair is a light blonde, almost white and Damon's is a midnight black.

We pull into the drive and get out of the car. I grab my backpack out of the back seat and follow mom inside. Mom grabbed some Chinese on the way home for dinner. I walk into the living room and put my backpack on the floor near the staircase. I head into the kitchen and see Emma sitting at the island with a textbook in front of her.

"Homework already?" I ask looking at what she is doing.

"Yeah but it's just a biology sheet on animal cells. Coloring basically," she says rolling her eyes.

Mom dishes out everyone's dinner and we eat. Emma and I talked about our first day at our new schools, and mom talked about what it was like at the medical center. I get up and collect everyone's plates and place them in the sink. Rinsing them off, I decide to wash the few that there are. One less thing for mom to worry about.

I make it up to my bedroom and strip out of my scrubs. I pull another pair out of the closet. This time deciding on the pale lavender scrubs my dad bought me for my birthday. I place them on my dresser, making a mental note to grab them in the morning before I head out the door. I go into my bathroom and grab my dad's tee; slipping it over my head. I wash the remnants of the day off my face and brush my teeth. Swishing the mouthwash, I close my eyes. I reopen them and spit out the mouthwash only now realizing how exhausted I am. The day seemed to drag on. I really did enjoy most of the day, disregarding the way Katherine acted towards me.

I walk over to my nightstand and plug my phone into the charger. I climb into bed and check the notifications panel. Bonnie and Caroline have both requested to follow me on Instagram. I accept their requests and reciprocate by sending them each one. There are some new loves on the pictures I uploaded last night. Mostly friends from my old school. I decide to be nosy and type in Damon's name in the search field. I don't see one. He must not use social media.

Deciding I've played stalker enough, I put my phone on my end stand and pull a book I've been reading out of the top drawer. I flip the book open to the page I left off on. I straighten out the folded corner and snuggle down into my covers; reading. It's something I enjoy doing and there's nothing better than getting lost in a good book. Whether it be a hardcover or kindle. I prefer the smell and feel of holding an actual book in my hands though. Before long, my lids start to get heavy and they close.

Damon

I wake up to my alarm going off on my phone. I turn it off and roll onto my side. I push up off my bed and head into my bathroom. Afterward, I grab my jersey shorts and slip them on. I check the time. 4:50 am. It looks like I can get in a good workout this morning. I head down to the basement and start my morning with push-ups. After, I do my ab exercises and hop onto the treadmill. By the time I finish working out, I head back upstairs and make my way into the kitchen. My mom is by the counter pouring herself a cup of coffee.

"Want one?" she asks raising her cup.

I nod my head and stifle a yawn. "Sounds great."

"How was school yesterday?" she asks handing me a cup of coffee. Black. Strong. Just how I like it.

"Eh, school was school. I got an A+ on my Lit paper. How was work? Don't you have to go in early today?"

She shakes her head. "Good job. I was supposed to, but I'm not needed until 7. I start training my new intern on Wednesday though. Nice girl too."

I finish my coffee and rinse out my cup. "I didn't know you were training again."

"Well, you can never have enough hands. I'm excited about showing someone else the ropes again. It will be nice. Her family just moved here. If you haven't met her yet then you probably will. She's a senior at your school too."

My eyes widen at that. "You're training Elena?"

"Oh, you've met her?"

"Yeah. Caroline adopted her."

Mom sighs. "She's not a pet Damon."

I shrug my shoulders. "Never said she was."

"No, but you implied it. I'm happy she's got Caroline in her corner at least. I can't imagine what it's like for her especially having to move in your senior year."

I grab an apple out of the fruit bowl on the counter. "What do you mean you can't imagine?"

"Having to move like they do."

"And?"

"Her father is in the Army. They live on base. Her mom works with me at the clinic. She said this is Elena and Emma's 3rd station or so."

I take a bite out of my apple. "Huh. Didn't know."

"You better not be rude to the girl. I like her."

I choke on my apple. I pound my chest with my fist. "You like her?"

"She is very polite. Raised with proper manners."

I snort a laugh and my mom raises her brow at me. "She's a firecracker is what she is."

"Why is that? She was nothing but kind yesterday when she stopped in."

"I didn't say she wasn't kind. I said she's a firecracker. Difference. Kat was being a bit-" I trail off my sentence when my mom tsks me. "Katherine was being Katherine, and Elena bit back."

Mom nods her head. "Good for her. I never liked Katherine anyway."

I shake my head and laugh turning to walk away. "At least we agree on that," I say looking back. "I'm going to shower and get ready. See ya tonight."

Mom laughs, "see you later."

I head into my room and grab a uniform out of the closet. I grab a pair of black boxer briefs from my dresser and go into my bathroom. I start the shower and steam fills the room. As I step under the spray, my thoughts go to Elena. What I've seen of her so far is feisty and contradicts how my mom says she is. Complete opposites in my opinion. She does seem nice towards others. The way she looked yesterday in the backseat of my car has me wondering more about her. She was so quiet on the ride just staring out the window.

God...I haven't thought about another girl like this ever. And when Caroline said she was adorable, she put me on the spot. No, Elena isn't adorable. Feisty, cute maybe. Big brown eyes that I swear sparkle. Her laugh and the way her long hair bounces when she throws her head back. Pushing out those tits of hers. God, I bet they are more than a handful. I wonder what color her nipples are? Maybe a dusty rose like her perfectly plump lips. I reach down and stroke myself. I picture her down on her knees with those lips wrapped around my cock. I grip myself harder and groan bracing my left hand on the shower wall. Fantasizing about laying her down on my bed, gloriously naked with her hair fanned around on my pillow. Spreading her legs wide and running my hands up her creamy thighs. I bet they're as smooth as they look. I stroke myself faster to the thought of her toned legs wrapped tightly around my back.

"Ugh god yes." I moan out loud. I bite my bottom lip trying to stay quiet. I picture slipping my dick into her tight wet center. "Fuck" I groan out blowing my load of hot cum. Placing both hands on the shower wall I close my eyes. Shit. I don't think I've ever cum so hard.

Fuck. My. Life.

That's my last thought as I step out of the shower and get ready for school.

Lunchtime finally comes around and I head to the cafeteria. I stand in line and grab myself a couple of slices of pizza. Matt comes up behind me. "Hey douche," I say acknowledging him.

"You're the douche" he replies, and I snort a laugh.

"Ugh, fucking day is dragging on."

Matt grabs a milk and hands one to me. "Tell me about it. Any plans tonight?"

I shake my head. "Nope. Just going to kick back at home. You?"

"Yeah. I'm taking Rebekah to see a movie." He says as we head over to our table.

I stop in my tracks. "Seriously?"

He grins at me. "Yup. I finally broke her down."

I shake my head laughing. He wore her out is more like it.

"Good for you."

I sit down at the table. Elena and Caroline are in the middle of a conversation.

"So tonight?" Caroline asks Elena.

"Yeah, I don't mind hanging out for a bit, but it will have to be after 6."

Caroline nods. "That's fine. I will borrow my mom's car and pick you up."

"We live on Boulevard. You have to take Gate 1. Just make sure you have your license ready and I will let them know on my way in."

"That shit is like maximum security," Caroline says shaking her head.

Elena snorts a laugh and if it's not the cutest sound ever. What the fuck is wrong with me? "Well it is government property" she says to Caroline.

"Oh hush. You know what I mean."

"Yeah I know. I'll hang out with you guys, but I probably won't get anything."

Bonnie speaks up. "You have to get a dress for formal."

"I'm not going. Dateless. Pointless." Elena says stabbing her salad with her fork.

"There's still time to get a date."

"And if that happens. If. Then I will get a dress."

"Well, you are coming with us Friday night. Do you have anything to wear to 1Oak?"

That has me whipping my head up. I try and visualize Elena at 1Oak. Nope. Can't picture it.

Elena nods her head. "I have a few things."

Don't do it, Damon. Don't. Even. Think. About. It. Oh shit. Too late.

"Got a ride Friday night?" I asked finishing my pizza.

Everyone turns their head to look at me. Elena and Bonnie's mouths both fall open. "What? Don't look so shocked." I say defensively.

"Sorry. Are you offering me a ride?"

My thoughts go straight to the gutter. I stifle a laugh.

"Well, I did ask." Tyler wiggles his brows at me, and I shoot him a glare.

"It's just odd after your comment yesterday is all." She says putting her fork down.

"It was a joke. I wasn't trying to be rude."

I really wasn't. I just come off like an asshole. I don't mean to.

Elena smiles at me. Fucking smiles at me. "That would be great. Thank you."

"You're welcome," I say with a curt nod.

The warning bell rings for the next class. Everyone gets up from the table and I follow tossing my things into the trash. I head to Chem.
