Chapter 19:
"And there they go!", Irma said with a sigh of relief as she watched her parents drive off.
"And now we're off to get Chris.", Angelo said. "Let's go, woman!"
"I'm coming, man!", Irma said with a grin as they headed for Angelo's car.
"I wonder how they're going to handle Chris for a whole week.", Hay Lin pondered.
"Don't know.", Will said as they watched Angelo and Irma drive off. "But it should be intersting."
Just then John came walking up with Susan.
"Good they're gone!", John said. "Now I can tell you all."
"Tell us what?", Taranee asked.
"My plan, for Angelo and Irma.", John said. "Tom and Anna already know. That's why they'll be be coming back on Friday."
"That's Prom Night!", Elyon said. "But Irma and Angelo are banned from Prom."
"We know.", Susan said with a smile.
"Okay. You guys are up to something!", Will said. "Spill!"
"Okay. But you all have to keep this from Angelo and Irma.", John said. "And that means no telling her telepathiclly, Taranee."
"Mums the word!", Taranee said with a smile.
"Okay. First things first.", John said. "Who in the Junior and Senoir classes are the biggest gossips?"
The girls and guys then turned and looked at Cornelia.
"Hey!", Conrelia yelled.
"Well, it's you and the Grumper Sister that can spread word fast.", Elyon said.
"Good.", John said surprising the kids. "Here's the deal!"
So, John told them all what he had planned. Once he told them everything, they were all for it.
"This is going to be so great!", Hay Lin said hapily.
"Remember. Not a word of this to them.", John said.
"You got it, Uncle John.", Will said smiling.
"And I'm sure the juniors and seniors won't say anything.", Cornelia said. "And I know I can get the Grumpser in on this. Spreading the word is what they do best."
"Good.", John said. "Now I just have to make sure everytihng will be ready."
After saying there goodbyes, John and Susan left the kids to do whatever they had planned to do. Just then, Cornelia spotted the Grumpers walking out of the school.
"Might as well, get this started.", Cornelia said as she walked up to them. "Hey, Bess! Courtney!"
"What do you want, Cornelia?", Bess questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Look. We may not see eye to eye, but right now I'm asking you two to put your rumor spreading to some good use.", Cornelia said.
Bess and Courtney looked at each other, wondering what was going on. They then shrugged they shoulders and looked back at Cornelia.
"We're listening.", Bess said.
Cornelia then told them of what she needed them to do. Elsewhere, Angelo and Irma had just arrived at Chris' school to pick him up.
"I'll be back.", Irma said as she got out of the car to go get Chris.
"Now you know what happened the last time you went and got your brother out from there.", Angelo said witha grin.
"Don't start!", Irma said with a grin as a slight blush appeared on her face as she thought back to that day.
Flashback, about a year ago...
"You really don't want to do this, do you?", Angelo asked as he parked his car at the school Chris went to.
"No, but what are you gonna do?", Irma said as she got out of the car. "I won't be long."
"Take your time.", Angelo said as he turned his radio on. "Oh! And watch out for those boys! They may try and look up your skirt!"
"Aw, crap!", Irma said as she looked down at the pink shirt and short, black jean skirt she was wearing. "The sooner I find Chris, the quicker I can get out."
Irma quickly headed inside the school to get her little brother. She soon found him in the hallway with who she thought were his friends. But when she got closer...
"What are you gonna do now, Lair?", an older girl asked as she pushed Chris back. "You can't hit me because I'm a girl! And if you do hit me, I'll just go cry to a teacher and get you in trouble! Now give me your cap!"
"No!", Chris yelled as he held on to his cap. "It's my hat and you can't have it, Maggie!"
"Ooooooooo!", the kids that were there said.
"I was being nice before!", Maggie said. "Now, I'm gonna pound ya!"
"I don't think so!"
Maggie turned to see Irma standing behind her with her hand on her hips looking down at her.
"Who are you?", she questioned glaring at Irma.
"I'm HIS big sister!", Irma said pointing at Chris surprising the girl.
"Ooooooooo!", the kids that were there said.
"S-s-so what!", Maggie said nervously.
"So, leave my little brother alone!", Irma said. "Or else, I'll go tell your parents!"
"Fine!", Maggie said as she walked away. "I didn't really want his stupid hat anyway!"
"You okay, squirt?", Irma asked Chris as the other kids walked away.
"Yeah.", Chris said as he put his cap on. "Why did you do that anyway?"
"You're my little brother.", Irma said as they head down the hall and towards the door. "No one picks on you, but me."
Irma then took his cap off and ruffled Chris's hair. She then dropped his cap back on his head.
"Ha, ha.", Chris said as he took his cap off and fixed his hair. "Very funny."
"I know.", Irma said as Chris put his cap on.
Meanwhile, Angelo was sitting in his car waiting for Irma and Chris, when he saw none other than Uriah walking up to the school.
"What the heck is he doing here?", Angelo questioned as he saw a little girl with the same color hair as Uriah walking up to him. "Don't tell me he has a little sister!"
Just then Irma came walking out of the school with Chris.
"Well, look at what we have here!", Uriah said getting Irma and Chris's attention. "What are you doing here, Lair?"
"What am I doing here?", Irma questioned. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here picking up my little cousin.", Uriah said.
"Wow.", Irma said dully. "There's more of you? One of you is bad enough."
"Come on, Uriah!", his little cousin said. "You promised that you'd get me home in time to watch my favorite show!"
"In a minute, Tina!", Uriah said.
"Now, now, Uriah.", Irma teased. "It's not nice to keep a lady waiting."
"Yeah!", Tina said. "Let's get moving!"
"If only people at school could see you now!", Irma laughed. "You wouldn't look so big and bad then!"
"Uriah isn't bad!", Tina said as she hugged Uriah. "He's the nicest cousin ever!"
"Knock it off, Tina!", Uriah said as he tried to get his cousin off him.
"Aw! You're the nicest cousin ever.", Irma teased before laughing.
"I sense trouble ahead.", Angelo said as he got out of his car and walked up to Irma and Uriah.
"I-I-I'll show you nice!", Uriah said before he pushed Irma to the ground.
"Ow!", Irma said as she hit the ground.
Now the way Irma was positioned, Uriah was able to see what was under her skirt.
Never a good thing!
"I see London, I see France! I see Lair's turtle underpants!", Uriah laughed as he pointed down at Irma.
Being embarrassed at this, Irma quickly tugged her skirt down as she turned red in the face. Seeing this, Angelo began to run towards Uriah.
"That's not nice, Uriah!", Tina said as she glared at Uriah.
"Oh shut... Aaaahh!"
Uriah was cut off when Chris hit him in the family jewels making him drop to his knees and then to his side.
"Dang!", Angelo said as he got up to them all. "I know that hurt!"
"My babies!", Uriah whined as he had his hands down where Chris kicked him.
"Don't mess with my sister!", Chris snapped.
"I'm telling on you, Uriah!", Tina said as she walked towards Uriah's car.
"Get back here!", Uriah said as he slowly got to his feet and walked off as other kids laughed at him.
"You okay?", Angelo questioned as he helped Irma up.
"Yeah.", Irma said as she brushed her backside off with her free hand.
"Now Chris.", Angelo said getting Chris's attention. "It's not nice to hit a guy down there. Even if Uriah deserved it."
"Why did you go and do that anyway?", Irma questioned as they headed for Angelo's car.
"You're my sister.", Chris said. "I'm the only one that can pick on you."
"Ha, ha.", Irma said as she tugged down on Chris's cap. "Very funny."
Irma then crouched down and kissed Chris on his cheek.
"That was for being my little protector, squirt.", Irma said.
"Ew!", Chris said as he rubbed the spot where Irma kissed him. "Now I got cooties!"
Irma and Angelo busted out laughing as the three of them got in Angelo's car and drove off.
End Flashback
'That was kind of funny.', Irma thought to herself as she walked closer to the school.
As she got closer to the doors of the school, Chris was walking out with a girl with russet colored hair and green eyes.
'Isn't that the girl that tried to take Chris's cap before?', Irma questioned as she was walking up to Chris.
Suddenly, the girl kisses Chris on his cheek stopping him in his tracks.
'Okay! That's new!', Irma thought as she saw what happened.
Seeing this from a distance was Angelo, who was pretty surprised as well.
"When did he get a girlfriend?", Angelo questioned in surprise.
"By, Chris.", the girl said with a slight blush. "And thanks again."
"Um... yeah.", Chris said with a slight blush. "Sure. No problem."
"What was all that about?", Irma asked her little brother.
"Well, promise not to get mad?", Chris asked his sister.
"Sure.", Irma said as she and Chris walked towards Angelo's car. "Why not?"
"Well, at recess I was playing with my friends when I saw Maggie being picked on by some older guys.", Chris explained. "At first, some of us younger kids thought that for once she would see what it felt like to be bullied."
"Let me guess.", Irma said as they arrived at Angelo's car. "You started to feel bad for her."
"Pretty much.", Chris said as he got in the back seat of Angelo's car.
"What are you two talking about?", Angelo asked as Irma sat in the passenger side of the car.
"Chris was telling me why Maggie kissed him on the cheek.", Irma said with a teasing smile as she looked back at her brother.
"Maggie?", Angelo questioned. "The same Maggie that tried to take your cap? That was the girl that kissed you?"
"Yep.", Irma said.
"Oh, do tell how this went down.", Angelo said as he looked back at Chris.
"Well..."
Flashback, Recess time at Chris' school...
There Maggie was with two older boys as the other kids watched wondering what was going to happen.
"Gimme that game!", one of the two older boys said as he snatched the video game out of Maggie's hands.
"Give that back!", Maggie snapped as she stepped up to the boy.
"Or what?", the other boy questioned.
"This!", Maggie said as she kicked the boy who had her video game, in his leg.
"Ow!", the boy said as he grabbed his leg.
Maggie grabbed her game as was about to walk away, when the other boy pushed her down to the ground hard and took her game.
"What are you going to do now?", the boy who took the game asked with a smirk as Maggie got up and was ready to fight.
But she didn't see the boy she kicked come at her and punch her. Once he did that, Maggie fell back down to the ground. Maggie then began to cry as the two boys stood above her thinking they had won.
'That's not right!', Chris thought to himself.
He thougth this because for one, Maggie hasn't bullied anyone in a while. Plus, she never hitted anybody. Chris then decided to do something about this as he walked up to the two boys as they were walking away laughing.
"Well that was easy!", the boy who hit Maggie said. "Huh, Tim?"
"Sure was Keith!", the boy holding the video game. "So, what do we do now?"
"How about-", Tim began to say.
"How about you give me the game?", Chris said as he stood in front of the boys.
"Are you serious?", Keith questioned. "What are you going to do, squirt?"
"Taking the game back, if I have to!", Chris said as he stood his ground.
The two boys busted out laughing, thinking Chris was joking.
"Beat it, twerp!", Tim said as he tried to punch Chris.
But Chris quickly dodged the attack and grabbed Tim's arm and flipped him hard to the ground.
"Why you little...", Keith began to say as he tried to kick Chris.
But Chris quickly ducked down and did a sweep kick, knocking Keith down. The other kids there cheered at what Chris did to the two bullies. Chris then took the game from Tim and walked over to Maggie, who saw what just happened as the last of her tears flowed down her face.
"Um... here.", Chris said as he handed Maggie her game.
"T-Thanks.", Maggie said as she took the game back, not believing what she just saw. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, sure!", Chris said with with a smile as he nervously scratched the back of his head. "My brother-in-law taught me how to fight."
Before Chris knew it, Maggie gave him a quick hug.
"Thanks.", Maggie said as they pulled away from each other.
"Um... no problem.", Chris said not knowing what to think.
Chris then saw that Maggie was looking at him with a small smile.
"Are you okay, Magg-"
Chris was cut off when Maggie kissed him on his cheek. Maggie then ran off as her cheeks turned red. Chris just stood there not knowing what to think as he face turned red. The other kids were just as surprised at what happened. Just then the bell rang snapping Chris back to reality as he headed for his class with one thought on his mind.
'What was all that about?'
End Flashback.
"So, let me get this straight.", Angelo said as he was driving back to his and Irma's home. "You defeated two bullies and got a hug and a kiss from the girl who used to bully you?"
"Yeah.", Chris said as he blushed a little thinking about what happened.
"I think you may have a girlfriend, squirt.", Irma said with a grin.
"What?", Chris questioned in shock. "No way!"
"Yes way.", Irma said with a smile. "Trust me when I say Maggie just may have a thing for you."
"You did stand up for her and got her game back.", Angelo said.
"Aw, man!", Chris said as he slumped back in his seat.
"Don't worry, Chris.", Irma said. "She may of just gave you that kiss as a thank you. For some girls, that age, that's a way they say thank you."
"Just wait and see what happens on Monday.", Angelo said. "Now I have to say that you used great control when you face those bullies."
"Really?", Chris asked as his face perked up a bit.
"Yeah!", Angelo said. "Cause let's be honest. With your strenght, you could of put those boys in the hospital. Looks like Uncle John was right when he said you could control your power. And I'm glad he was right."
"Thanks!", Chris said with a smile as Angelo pulled up to the apartment building where he and Irma lived.
"And now we're home.", Angelo said as he parked the car.
"You got any homework?", Irma asked as they got out of the car.
"We don't get any homework on Fridays.", Chris said as they heded inside.
"Why can't they do that in high school?", Irma asked.
"It would be nice of they did that.", Angelo said as they headed up to the second floor of the apartment building.
Once in their apartment, Angelo and Irma went to their table and took their homework out of their bookbags.
"Okay, little brother.", Irma said getting her brother's attention. You'll be sleeping in the spar bedroom. There's a TV, that Angelo has hooked up his extra XBOX 360 to. Feel free to play it while we do our homework."
"Sweet!", Chris said as he headed for the room.
"When we're done our homework, we'll think of something to do.", Angelo said.
"Yeah, sure.", Chris said as he headed into his bedroom.
"I don't think he cares.", Irma said with a grin.
"You think?", Angelo questioned with a grin.
Angelo and Irma then began to do their homework, knowing that the next week with Chris was going to be interesting.
A/N: Well, it looks like Chris may have a crush. Well doing what he did, will do that. And now Irma and Angelo's week with Chris begins. Wonder how that will turn out? And then there's what John has planned for Irma and Angelo. Wonder how that'll turn out? You'll have to wait and see.
