Chapter 29:
Later that morning, the couples got together for breakfast at hotel's restaurant. Well, sort of. The girls sat together in one area of the restaurant while the guys sat together in another area. Once both groups ordered their breakfast, they began to talk about what happened last night when they got into their rooms. First we go to the ladies.
"So, besides Irma, did any you have a good time last night.", Cornelia asked with a smirk.
"Did you?", Elyon asked Cornelia with a smirk of her own.
"Yes. Yes, I did.", Cornelia said with a blush. "But we didn't have sex. But what Caleb did with his hands was just... Wow!", she said in a happy dreamy tone.
"Same with Martin.", Alchemy said with a smile.
"I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that none of you have sex last night.", Irma said getting nods from the girls. "Just good foreplay.", she said getting nods from the girls. "Uh-huh. Thought so."
"Yeah. After talking about it, Eric and I decided to wait until we felt that we were ready.", Hay Lin said.
"Same here.", Taranee said. "Besides. I don't know where Nigel learned to do what he did last night, but it felt so good."
"I think I know.", Will said with a blush. "Matt told me that he along with the other members of his band watched a few "adult" movies a few days before Prom."
"Really?", Elyon questioned getting a nod from Will. "Well, it did the job.", she said with a smile.
"Martin and I read a book.", Alchemy said.
"Same for me and Caleb.", Cornelia said.
"Same for Peter and me.", Cassidy said. "But that was way before last night.", she said with a smile.
"I guess it's safe to say that you all had a good night.", Irma said with a grin before she drank some of her juice.
"Like yours was bad.", Will said with a smirk. "Me and Matt's room was right next to yours, Irma. And you two were... well... you know."
"Horny.", Irma said with a sly smile.
"That's putting it mildly.", Will said with a grin.
"Well that little gift you all got me really got things going.", Irma said smiling.
"I was wondering when you were going to wear that.", Cornelia said getting a laugh out of the other girls.
"To Prom!", Will said as she held up her glass of juice. "And all the wonder it got us!"
"To Prom!", the other girls said as they held up their glasses of juice and clanged them together before drinking them.
Moments earlier...
Across from the girls were the guys who were talking about what happened last night.
"I... I didn't know I had it in me.", Martin said to the guys. "Heck! I didn't know that Alchemy had it in her either. But last night we surprised each other."
"You two had sex?", Nigel asked.
"No. We just did some things we read in a book together.", Martin said with a small smile and a slight blush.
"Foreplay can be a good thing.", Angelo said with a grin.
"Amen to that.", Eric said.
"I'm still amazed at what Cornelia were able to do last night from the book we read.", Caleb said. "I didn't know she was that flexible!"
"Well, she is an ice skater.", Matt said. "You have to be pretty limber to do the things she does when she skates."
"Same with Taranee and her dancing.", Nigel said with a smile.
"Let's just say that all of our girls are great in their own way.", Joel said getting nods from the guys.
"And may we have great times with our women in the future.", Angelo said as he raised a glass.
"Here! Here!", the other guys said doing the same before clanging their glasses together.
"So what do you guys plan on doing today?", Matt asked.
"Well, I plan on chilling by the pool for a while before Hay Lin and I go to the nearby beach.", Eric replied as some servers came up to them with their orders while some servers were doing the same for the girls.
"Aw, man! This looks so good!", Nigel said as he sniffed the good food. "I'm so hungry after last night."
"Same here!", Caleb said as he looked down at his food.
"Time to dig in fellas!", Angelo said before they and the girls said their grace and began to eat their breakfast.
Meanwhile, on Kurot, Cedric and Miranda had just trained the five Lurdens in using their speed in battle. The Lurdens were dressed in shorts and short-sleeved shirts. Pleased with how well they've been training, the two Shape-shifters ended their lesson allowing the Lurdens to rest before Frost would help them with their strength training.
"I see that the Lurdens are learning quicker than expected.", Phobos said as he walked out onto the training grounds where Cedric and Miranda had the Lurdens while training them.
"Indeed.", Cedric said. "Whatever Crimson, Frost, and Nerissa did with them in that ATZ worked well."
"These five shall be the Alpha Lurdens among the other Lurdens we capture and bring here to train.", Miranda said. "That is unless one of the other Lurdens we capture becomes strong enough to become an Alpha."
"Either way, we'll have an army of powerful and loyal warriors ready to fight.", Phobos replied with a smirk. "Soon we shall have what we all wanted for so long. And the best part is, our enemies won't be able to do anything about it until it's to late!", the fallen prince said with a smirk.
"Speaking of which, I just thought of something.", Cedric said. "When we do reveal ourselves to the people of Earth, do you plan on exposing Elyon as your sister?"
"It would cause some problems for her.", Miranda said with a smirk.
"It is tempting, but no.", Phobos said. "To expose my sister would bring up many questions amoung the Earthlings to which may drive the Guardians to reveal the truth about us. Which is something we don't need."
"Agreed.", Cedric said. "The less trouble for us the better."
"And it will be quite fun as the Guardians and their allies stand by and do nothing but watch as we gain more and more fame when we arrive on Earth.", Phobos said with a smirk.
"Yes, it will.", Miranda said with a smirk of her own as Frost came onto the training grounds.
"I see that you two are finished training the Lurdens in speed.", Frost said to Cedric and Miranda as he noticed how the Lurdens were resting from their last training session.
"Yes, we have.", Cedric said. "I am impressed at how fast they have become."
"Well, now it is time to work on their strength.", Frost said as he walked over to were some clothes were sitting.
Frost then took the clothes and brought them over to the Lurdens and tossed them down in front of them.
"Put these on.", he said to them. "Your next session begins now.", he said as he walked away from them.
Understanding what Frost said, the Lurdens slipped on the clothes, that Frost gave them, over the clothes they had on. When they were done, they each had were wearing bracers, greaves, and a sleeveless shirt. But for some reason the Lurdens couldn't move like they normally did.
"Those are weighted clothing.", Frost said to the Lurdens. "Each of the items you just put on weigh five pounds each. So right now, you are wearing twenty-five pounds. You will wear these clothes during your training to help you gain more strength. Once you are able to move around normally, I will have you wear weighted clothing that weighes even more. When I am done with you lot, you will achieve more power than you have now. Now came at me!", he ordered the Lurdens.
"This should be fun to watch.", Phobos said as he, Cedric, and Miranda watched the Lurdens try and attack Frost with the weighted clothing slowing them down.
As for Crimson, he was in his chambers sitting on the floor in lotus position, doing a bit of meditation focusing his mind and body to better perfect his power. As he was doing this a smile came to his face as he felt the flow of energy in his body become more balanced. Feeling this, he knew he was more than ready for the battle to take Kandrakar. But he knew there may be a better way to take Kandrakar without much of a fight. And that's where going to Earth comes in. Thanks to the library in the palace he and his allies are living in, he found a book that revealed something he can use to get the Heart of Kandrakar. And if all goes well, it shall be his. As for Nerissa, she had flown to the outskirts of the palace and the city to fight some of the creatures that roamed the area to test her strength. Right now she was eating some apples while sitting on a boulder with some creatures lying around her unconscious.
"Well, this was good workout.", she said as she finished her third apple and threw away the core. "It seems that I've grown more powerful than expected.", she said as she looked at her hands. "But am I worthy to do what I've always wanted to do with these hands for so long?", she questioned with saddened eyes as she clinched her fist. "Looks like only time will tell.", she said grimmly when she heard a mighty roar coming from a distance.
Nerissa looked forward to see a large T-Rex looking creature who's arms were longer than a normal T-Rex as it charged at her.
"Looks like my workout isn't over yet.", Nerissa as she stood up and powered up before flying towards the creature ready to fight it.
Back on Earth, our young heroes and their friends had paid for their breakfast, then the couples headed back to their rooms to spend a bit more time with each other. Then, around Noon, they all headed down to the large pool to relax and have a bit of fun. The girls were laying back on the lounge chairs while the guys were sitting at the tables that were by the pool.
"Guess what Irma said she wanted to do when school ended next week.", Angelo said getting the guys attention.
"What?", Caleb asked.
"Redecorate the apartment.", Angelo said in a bored tone before drinking some of the canned tea he had.
"Uh-oh!", Matt said. "That's going to be fun."
"Tell me about it.", Angelo said. "She's even going to ask the girls to help her.", he said when he and the guys heard the girls squealing from across the pool. "And that would be her telling them about it."
"You do know that she and the girls may get rid of some on the furniture you already have.", Joel said.
"Yeah. I already figured that.", Angelo said. "Which is why I only agreed to her redecorating the place as long as certain things don't get replaced. Like my recliner. That was my dads. I'm keeping that for as long as I can."
"I hear you there.", Nigel said. "Keep what you can."
"Cause I see a lot of your stuff going bye-bye.", Martin said with a grin.
"And you know that they might be talking about having a walk-in closet done.", Eric said with a grin.
"I know, man.", Angelo said with a tiring sigh. "I know."
As for the girls, Irma had indeed told them about her redecorating the apartment and wanting them to help. Of course they were more than happy to help.
"This is going to be so much fun!", Hay Lin chirped happily after Irma told her and the girls about her wanting their help with redecorating the apartment. "What color do you want the walls painted!?"
"What kind of furniture do you want to get!?", Elyon asked.
"What furniture do you want to get rid of?", Cornelia asked.
"Wait a minute.", Will said getting everyone's attention. "Are you sure Angelo is okay with all of this, Irma?"
"Yes.", Irma said. "But, there are some things he doesn't want to get rid of."
"Of course there are.", Taranee said with a grin.
"Please tell me that we can get rid of that old recliner chair in the living room.", Cornelia said. "That thing is a bit tacky."
"Sorry, Corny.", Irma said. "But that chair stays."
"Why?", Cassidy asked.
"It was his father's.", Will said getting the attention of the girls.
"She's right.", Irma said.
"How do you know?", Alchemy asked Will.
"Are you kidding me?", Will questioned with a grin. "I remember that chair from when Angelo and I were kids. We would sit in it until Uncle Jacob would want to sit in it. The two of us would even fall asleep in it sometimes.", she said with a small smile. "I can understand why Angelo would want to keep it along with some other things he has there."
"You'd be correct.", Irma said.
"Such as?", Cornelia asked. "That way we don't get rid of the wrong thing."
"Angelo gave me a list.", Irma said. "I just have to think of what kind of furniture to get. I want it to be comfortable more than fashionable. Don't want to be sitting on a couch that makes my butt hurt."
"Don't worry, Irma.", Elyon said with a grin. "I'm sure you'll find what you want."
"You know, if you do it right, you can make that other room in your apartment into a walk-in closet for you and Angelo.", Cornelia suggested.
"I have thought about that.", Irma said. "But, Angelo and I do plan on having kids. When we're older of course. So we'll need the extra room."
"Unless you get a house.", Taranee replied.
"True.", Irma said. "Either way, I don't think we'll be having a walk-in closet."
"One can dream though.", Cornelia said with a smile.
"Yes. Yes one can.", Irma said.
Later that day, on Kurot, Nerissa had returned to the palace from her training to get some rest. As she walked down the halls of the palace, she ran into Crimson who sensed her power had risen some more due to her training in the out lands of the palace.
"I see that you've been training.", Crimson said to Nerissa. "And it has paid off well."
"I figure the stronger the better.", Nerissa said. "Besides. I know from experience that some of our allies can't be trusted all to well. And I have a feeling that you know this as well."
"I do.", Crimson said. "But what of you? Can I trust you to do your part?"
"As long as I'm not betrayed, yes.", Nerissa said.
"Then I have nothing to worry about.", Crimson said as he walked off. "Good day, Nerissa."
"Good day to you as well, Crimson.", Nerissa said as she headed to her quarters.
Once in her chambers, Nerissa laid on her bed and began to think to herself as she stared up at the ceiling.
'Can I pull this off?', she thought to herself with worry. 'And if I do, what will happen after that? I guess I'll have to wait and hope for the best.', she thought as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
Later that evening, on Earth, the young couples had dinner and were now relaxing in the two large hot tubs that was there having a good time. Sitting on some stands in between the two hot tubs were bowls of ice with bottles of white grape sparkling cider. As for the kids, they each had a champagne glass to drink the cider as they were having a good time. In one of the hot tuns were Will & Matt, Taranee & Nigel, Hay Lin & Eric, and Irma & Angelo while Cornelia & Caleb, Elyon & Joel, Alchemy, & Martin, and Cassidy & Peter were in the other one.
"Aw, man! A girl can get used to this.", Cassidy said before drinking some of her cider.
"You said it.", Cornelia agreed with a smile.
"These remind me of the hot springs we have on Zalaran Island.", Caleb said.
"Come again. We have hot springs in Meridna?", Elyon asked. "And you didn't tell me about them?"
"Actually, Your Majesty, they're in the Oceania Kingdom.", Caleb said. "I went there, during the rebellion for some help in our fight against Phobos only to find the he had some of his navy invading there. Or at least trying to invade the kingdom. It was basically a stalemate between them. The rulers allowed me to stay a while and rest until me and my party were ready to leave. During our time there, I enjoyed their hot springs. Very relaxing."
"I wonder if there are any hot springs in Meridian.", Elyon wondered.
"Only one way to find out.", Cornelia said.
"After we take care of my brother and his allies.", Elyon said. "That take priority."
"Definitely.", Will said. "If only there were a way to find them."
"I've been thinking about that.", Taranee said. "And there might be a way.", she said getting everyone's attention.
"Are you sure, Taranee?", Matt asked.
"Possibly.", Taranee said. "I'll have to run it by the Oracle before we give it a try."
"Then until then, we relax and enjoy the weekend.", Hay Lin said.
"Hay-Hay's right.", Irma said. "This is our time to relax and have a good time before the we have to go back to school and face the school board. So I say enjoy it all while we can."
"Here! Here!", everyone said in agreement.
And that's what they did for the rest of the weekend. They relaxed and had a great time at the hotel as they put their troubles on hold. But soon the weekend came to an end and it was Monday morning and the teens were in school ready for whatever the school board was going to do to them. But nothing happened. At least in the morning. Soon it was lunch and the teens gathered together under the tree where they normally ate at.
"So I guess you two didn't get in trouble.", Eric said to Angelo and Irma.
"Not yet.", Irma said. "The day isn't over yet."
"True.", Hay Lin said.
"Well it's not like they can exspell you two.", Nigel said. "The school year is almost over with."
"They'll think of something.", Will said.
"Question is what.", Taranee said when a voice came over the loud speaker.
"Would Angelo and Irma Vanders please come to the my office.", Mrs. Knickerbocker's said.
"And there it is.", Angelo said. "This won't end well.", he said as he and Irma got up and headed for Knickerbocker's office.
"Later, guys.", Irma said as she left with her husband.
"Later.", Cornelia said. "A shame we can't be in there with them."
"Well I could always use our telepathic link.", Taranee said.
"I don't think that's a good idea.", Will said. "I think that'll put a strain on Irma while dealing with whatever she and Angelo are dealing with."
"Well how about I go invisible and sneak into the office and be our eyes and ears while Taranee has the four of us linked up.", Hay Lin offered.
"And risk you getting upset and becoming visible and exposing us.", Cornelia . "No way! We'll just have to wait and hear from them about what happened."
"I agree.", Will said. "We can't risk exposing ourselves trying to be there for our friends. Angelo and Irma will be fine."
'I hope.', Will thought to herself.
As for Irma and Angelo, once they got to the principal's office they saw one Harry Williams of the school board sitting behind Knickerbocker's desk. Also there were John Vanders along with Tom and Anna Lair who were sitting in some chairs.
"Mr. & Mrs. Vanders. Glad you could make it.", said in a calm voice not showing any anger or signs of being upset. "Please have a seat. We have much to talk about.", he said as he gestured to the two empty seats in front of Knickerbocker's desk.
'Oh this can't be good.', Irma thought to herself as she and Angelo took their seat.
"So why are we here, Mr. Williams?", Angelo asked knowing full well why they were there.
"Well, Mr. Vanders, I'll cut to the chase.", Mr. Williams said as he gave him and Irma a more stern look. "You two have some nerve doing what you did, last Friday. Renewing your little vows as well as having your own little prom on the same night as the school's prom just because you were banned from it! Oh, you two have some nerve indeed! Do you know how much it cost the school to book the Heatrhefield Country Club for the Prom?!"
"Not a clue.", Irma said.
"Let's just say that you couldn't afford it without your husband and his money.", Harry said earning a glare from Irma and Angelo. "Now you two may think that you've gained a victory with this little stunt, but don't think you'll get away with this! Oh no! That will not happen! Not by a long shot."
"This won't end well.", Anna whispered to her husband who nodded in agreement.
"Now it wouldn't make much sense to expel you two seeing as the school year is almost over with.", Harry said as he looked a the young couple. "But we can punish you in other ways.", he said as a smirk began to form on his face. "Take you for instance, Mrs. Vanders. You're done at K-SHIP!"
"What?!", Irma asked in surprise.
"That right! No more of your little Lair On The Air show!", Mr. Williams said.
"You can't do that!", Irma snapped.
"Actually, seeing as the school owns the radio equipment, we can.", Mr. Williams said. "Maybe next time you'll think twice before challenging the school the way you and your husband did! Now as for you, Mr. Vanders, well you don't do any sports or after school activities, but now you won't be aloud to next school year!"
"Surprise, surprise.", Angelo said as he rolled his eyes as his uncle got up from his seat.
"Let me clue you in on something, Williams. I was the one who set up all that happened on Friday seeing as you all at the school board banned Angelo and Irma from prom. And from all those that came to the event, it looks like the students were against what you did to them."
"That may be, Sir, but we of the school board did what we did for a reason.", Mr. Williams said.
"And what reason is that?", Anna asked getting mad. "To punish my daughter and son-in-law for getting married?"
"Do any of you know what problems were caused for us because these two getting married?", Mr. Williams asked. "Parents of students calling and complaining about hearing of two students getting married. Parents wondering what kind of parents wold even allow two teenagers to get married at such a young age. Parents demanding that something be done about the matter. To which we had one of two choices. Expel you two or ban you from Prom.", he said as he looked at Angelo and Irma. "And believe me when I say that most of the parents wanted you two to be expelled. But with some convincing, they agreed to banning you two from Prom. But then there was what went down on Prom night."
"The angry parents found out about it and demanded that something be done.", Tom figured. "And seeing as the school year is almost finished, you had to do something that would affect Irma and Angelo during their Senior year."
"Which brings us to today and the punishment given.", Mr. Williams said as he got up and headed for the door.
"This is bull and you know it, Williams!", John said just as Harry reached for the door knob.
"You may think that, but maybe if you and the Lairs made the young Angelo and Irma wait until they were at least eighteen before they got married, none of this would be happening.", Mr. Williams said. "Good day to you all.", he said before leaving the office.
"Well this sucks.", Irma said as Mrs. Knickerbockerr came into the office.
"I'm sorry things turned out the way they did.", Mrs. Knickerbocker said with a sad smile. "I do wish they turned out differently."
"So do we, but I don't see the school board changing their minds anytime soon.", Tom said.
"We'll be okay.", Irma said. "This just gives me more time to train with the girls."
"It's good to see you looking on the bright side of all this, Mrs. Vanders.", Knickerbocker said. "Now I do believe you and your husband need to head to class. You are still students in this school.", she said with a smile.
"Ma'am! Yes, ma'am!", Irma said with a salute before she left with Angelo.
"If it's not one thing it's something else.", John said. "I knew that they would face some hardships, but I didn't think something like this would happen."
"Sadly, the school board wants it to be known that they will have the final say in this matter.", Knickerbocker said.
"Let them have their final say.", John said. "Cause if things keep going the way they are when it comes to Crimson and his bunch, then the whole world is going to know about the Guardians and what they do. And when that happens, they'll learn the truth about Angelo and Irma and have to take back all they've done to save face."
"But until then, we all keep our cool.", Tom said.
"Yes.", John said as he began to leave with the Lairs. "You have a good day, Mrs. Knickerbocker."
"You as well, Mr. Vanders.", Knickerbocker said with a kind smile that John and the Lairs returned before they left. "I truly hope things work out in the end.", she said as she sat at her desk. "I truly do."
Later that, after school, Angelo and Irma had told the others what had happened to which they were not to happy about. But right now they had more important things to take care of. To which the Guardians, Elyon, and Cassidy went to Kandrakar. Angelo, Caleb, Matt, Nigel, Eric, Joel, Peter, and Martin stayed behind to handle something else while Alchemy was at gymnastics practice.
"Okay, Taranee. What's this idea of yours?", Will asked as they were now in the main hall with the Oracle.
"Well remember when Phobos took the Heart of Zamballa that had Elyon, Myra, and C.H.Y.K.N. trapped inside?", Taranee asked. "Not to mention when Cedric swallowed Phobos?"
"Won't be forgetting that anytime soon.", Elyon said in a deadpan tone.
"Well I've been thinkning. During that time they both had a bond with the Heart of Metamoor.", Taranee said. "It may be weak now, but we may be able to use it to find them."
"Is that possible, Oracle?", Hay Lin asked.
"Possibly.", the Oracle said as he turned to the viewing pool. "It depends on the strength of the Veil that is blocking them from my vision."
"I figured that it was a Veil the was behind that.", Will said.
"It does make sense.", Cassidy said. "There are a lot of worlds out there that have powerful Veils up to protect it from invasion from enemy worlds through folds or portals."
"Indeed there are, Cassidy.", the Oracle said. "This Crimson could be based on any one of those worlds."
"Question is, which one.", Irma said as two chairs were brought into the room facing each other.
"Please have a seat, Queen Elyon.", the Oracle said as they sat in the chairs.
"Now what do we do?", Elyon asked.
"Now we try to find your brother.", the Oracle said. "I need you to close your eyes and take a deep breath.", he instructed to which Elyon did calming herself. "Now I need you to focus on your brother and your brother only. Not Nerissa or Cedric. Only Phobos."
"Just Phobos.", Elyon said as she began to focus on finding her brother. "Only Phobos.", she said as she to try and find her brother in hopes of trying to stop him and his allies from doing whatever it was they were going to do.
It was then that she felt a powerful force hit her mentally knocking her back a bit. Now on the world of Kurot, we have Phobos meditating when he felt his sister try to reach him only to get knocked back by the mental barriers he had put up.
'Nice try, sister.', Phobos thought with a smirk as he went back to his meditation.
"Argh!", Elyon cried out as she grabbed her head from the sudden pain.
"Elyon!", Cornelia cried out a she and the girls ran up to her to see of she was alright only to be stopped by the Oracle who held his hand up stopping them.
The Oracle then placed his hand on the side of Elyon's head and used his powers to ease the pain in her head until it was gone. Once it was gone, Elyon slowly opened her eyes to see the kind face of the Oracle.
"Thank you, Oracle.", Elyon said as she calmed down from what had just happened.
"You are welcome, Queen Elyon.", the Oracle said as he stood up from his seat going over what had just happened. "It seems that your brother is more powerful now that he can block you from finding him."
"My guess is that he's been training with Crimson.", Will figured.
"You may be right, Keeper.", the Oracle said. "Which makes him and his allies an even bigger problem."
"Of course they are.", Irma said while rolling her eyes. "Cause we can never catch a break."
"Not in this line of work.", Cassidy said.
"Worry not, Guardians.", the Oracle said. "Your enemies may be getting stronger, but the same can be said of you and your allies as well. You have all come a very long way. Do not forget that.", he said with a proud smile.
"Thank you, Oracle.", Taranee said. "But it would have been nice to find out where they were."
"Sure would.", Hay Lin said. "Maybe we can try and sense which worlds have powerful energy coming from them and check them out.", she suggested.
"That may be a problem, Hay Lin.", the Oracle said. "For a Veil makes it hard to sense for powerful beings. Hence why Crimson is on a world with a Veil. It is a perfect place to hide until they are ready to strike."
"So until they make a move, we just wait and train.", Cornelia said.
"That's the plan.", Will said.
"Well at least Summer is coming up.", Hay Lin said. "That'll give us plenty of time to train as well as relax and not have to worry about school."
"True.", Cornelia said as Will opened a fold back to Earth. "And this girl needs to work on her tan."
"It's things like this that I've missed during those eight years.", Irma said getting a laugh out of the girls as they went through the fold.
"Thank you for your help, Oracle.", Elyon said before going through the fold.
"Train well and be well, young ones.", the Oracle said as the fold closed. "For I see tough times ahead for you all."
As for the girls, the fold had led to Cassidy's apartment that they left to go find the guys and fill them in on what was going on. Granted, they didn't have much luck in finding Phobos and his allies. But right now, they just wanted to be with their boyfriends. And in Irma's case, her husband. They went to the home theater that was on the third floor where the guys said they would be. Now before the girls had returned from Kandrakar, the guys had got together to discuss a few things. So Angelo, Caleb, Matt, Nigel, Eric, Joel, Peter, and Martin gathered togethre in the home theatre of the apartment building to talk about something that Angelo and Matt thought of to help in the upcoming battles. Also there were Harold and Elizabeth Hale along with Napoleon after they took Lillian to spend the night over a friend's house.
"Okay, boys, what is this all about?", Harold asked the boys.
"Here's the thing, Mr. & Mrs. Hale.", Angelo said getting their attention. "With the coming threat of Crimson and his allies, we think that more Regents will be needed to keep Lillian safe."
"What do you mean?", Elizabeth asked. "I thought that Lillian was safe from getting her powers taken."
"In a way she is.", Napoleon said as he sat in a seat. "But right now there are only three Regents. Matty-Boy, Huggles, and myself. The way we have it now, if a threat to Lillian comes, we only have Matt and Huggle to take it on while I stay with Lillian ready to take her somewhere safe. A sound plan, but having more Regents would be nice. Plus, Huggles doesn't like to fight if he can help it. He's more of a peaceful little guy, but will fight if the need arrives."
"But what about the girls?", Harold asked.
"They could be on another world leaving me and Huggles to fight whatever comes.", Matt said. "If some of the guys are made Regents, we can teleport to said danger and take care of it before it gets anywhere near Lillian."
"Who do you want to be made Regents?", Harold asked.
"Right now, Nigel and Eric.", Matt said.
"That's all?", Elizabeth asked. "What about the rest of you?", she asked.
"Yeah!", Joel asked. "You said that I could be Regents as well."
"When you complete your training, you can.", Angelo said.
"But I did the ATZ thing.", Joel said.
"Only one session.", Caleb said. "You've gotten stronger but you have a ways to go, my friend."
"And until you complete your training, you can't be a Regent.", Angelo said. "We want you to be strong before you get said Regent power."
"Why don't the rest of you want to be Regents?", Harold asked.
"Well, Cassidy wants to go be a doctor on Metamoor when she gets through medical school.", Peter explained. "I want to be there for her the best way I can.", he said with a smile.
"As for me, Martin, and Caleb, well, my uncle and grandparents told us that we didn't need to be Regents due to us being meant for something else.", Angelo explained.
"What that something else is, we don't know.", Caleb said. "But rest assured that Nigel, Eric, and Joel will make fine Regents for your daughter."
"I don't know.", Elizabeth said. "Maybe we should talk to the girls about this."
"Why?", Napoleon asked. "You two are Lillian's parents. If you want her to have more Regents, then she can have more Regents. The girls can't stop it from happening."
"Besides, they'd rather we didn't get to involved in this kind of life.", Eric said.
"Then why all the training?", Joel asked.
"They only want us to fight along side them when they need us to.", Nigel said.
"I see.", Harold said understanding things. "If we agree to this, how does it work?"
"As Lillian's familiar, I can make Nigel, Eric, and Joel Regents.", Napoleon explained.
"What do you think, dear?", Harold asked his wife.
"Cornelia and the girls may not like it, but I want Lillian to be safe.", Elizabeth said.
"Well Irma already knows about this and she agrees that Lillian could use more Regents.", Angelo said. "It's convincing the other girls on the matter. Which is where you two come in."
"If you both agree that Lillian needs more Regents, and would allow for Nigel, Eric, and Joel to become Regents, then the girls will have no choice but to be okay with it.", Matt explained. "This may be a bit underhanded, but I'm going to need the back-up to keep Lillian safe from not just the current danger, but any future dangers."
"Say no more.", Harold said. "Do what you have to do."
"Yes. From what Yan Lin told us, the Heart of Earth needs to be protected from those that would use it's power for evil purposes.", Elizabeth said. "So if those of you who will be Regents truly wish to go through with this, then we thank you for what you are doing.", she said with a smile that the boys returned.
"You heard them, Napoleon.", Matt said.
"So when do we do this?", Napoleon asked.
"This weekend.", Angelo said. "We go to the ATZ where Uncle John will train with us. When it is complete, Napoleon can make you three Regents."
"Will, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin may get upset, but this needs to be done.", Caleb said. "To much is at stake to not do this."
"Agreed.", Angelo said.
"So for now we all keep this to ourselves.", Matt said.
"Understood.", Harold said as he and Elizabeth nodded. "Cornelia and the girls can complain all they want. The important thing is that Lillian and the Earth are safe."
"Bingo!", Napoleon just as he sensed the girls returning from Kandrakar. "Looks like the girls are back."
"Take the Hales back home before they get here.", Matt said.
"Later.", Napoleon said before he teleported away with the Halers in tow.
About minute later, the girls came into the home theatre happy to see their significant others.
"So how did things go in Kandrakar?", Matt asked as Will sat next to him.
"Total bust.", Will said. "Looks like we'll just have to wait until Crimson and company make their move."
"That and train when we can.", Cassidy said sitting next to Peter.
"Speaking of training, remember when you and the girls went to the ATZ two weekends ago?", Caleb asked Cornelia.
"Yeah. It was fun to spend the time in there with just us girls.", Cornelia said. "Why do you ask?", she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, Mr. Vanders wants me and the guys to do the same thing this weekend.", Caleb said. "It'll be a chance for us to do a bit of male bonding while improving our skills."
"And Joel and I really need to improve our skills.", Martin said.
"Well I don't see any problem with that.", Will said. "Especially if Uncle John wants you guys to do this."
"Just don't over do it.", Taranee said as she held Nigel's hand. "I don't want you to get hurt."
"Same here.", Hay Lin said to Eric. "The less fighting you have to do the better."
"Same goes or you too.", Elyon said to Joel. "No fighting unleess you have to."
Nigel, Eric, and Joel resisted the urge to say something knowing what they had planned for the weekend. Angelo and Irma looked at each other and smiled knowing what was going to happen and knew the boys' girlfriends were going to be mad when all was said and done, yet knew that it needed to be done. But for right now, they all just kicked back and watched some movies enjoying the peace. Soon the weekend came and the boys were ready to do what they had planned. Of course the girls went with them to Kandrakar to see them off into the ATZ.
"I still can't believe a place like this exist.", Nigel said as he looked at the door to the ATZ. "A realm where a day out here is equal to six months there."
"It is quite fascinating.", Martin said. "The only downside is having to get your hair cut when you exit the place."
"True.", Angelo said. "But the training is a major payoff."
"Okay, boys, time to go.", John said as he and his father Joseph walked into the room. "The sooner we go in the sooner we'll be back."
"And we have a lot to teach you boys.", Joe said.
"Let's move out, fellas.", Angelo said as he picked up his gym bag of underwear.
"So glad that there are training clothes for us in there.", Eric said as he picked up his backpack of underwear like the other guys. "See you soon.", he said to Hay Lin.
"You know that you don't have to do this.", Hay Lin said. "I mean after what happened with Cedric, maybe it would be best that you stay away from all the fighting. You know, for your own safety."
"We both got worked over, Hay Lin.", Eric said. "I don't want that to happen again. To do that, I have to get stronger."
"Okay.", Hay Lin said giving in. "Just don't train to hard. Okay."
"Sure.", Eric said before they shared a kiss.
But Eric now knew that what he and the guys were doing was the right thing. They were going to train to be Regents and nothing the girls did would stop them.
"Be careful in there.", Taranee said.
"I'll be fine, Taranee.", Nigel said. "I'll just be training with the guys so we'll be ready to help you and the girls fight when the time comes."
"You don't have to worry about that.", Taranee said with a smile. "I just want you to be safe."
"Let's go Nigel.", Matt said to his friend who was more than happy to go.
"Coming.", Nigel said. "See you later.", he said before he and Taranee shared a kiss.
"Do you really have to do this?", Elyon asked. "I mean, you don't have to do any fighting. The girls and I have everything under control."
"I know.", Joel said. "I just want to be of some use to you all."
"I juat want you to be safe.", Elyon said.
"And I will be.", Joel said. "I have to do this, Elyon."
"Let's move it, boys.", Joe said to which Joel was glad as he got ready to go.
"Later.", he said before he and Elyon shared a kiss.
"Be careful.", Elyon said worried for Joel.
"Can I ask a favor of you, Uncle John?", Will asked as she pulled John aside to talk.
"What's up, kiddo?", John asked.
"It's about the guys.", Will asked. "Mainly Eric, Joel, and Nigel.
"What about them?", John asked.
"Well... when it comes to their training, can you go a bit easy on them?", Will asked.
"And why would you want me to do that?", John asked.
"Well... their girlfriends don't want them to get to involved in the fighting.", Will explained. "So we figured that if they aren't strong enough, then we don't have to have them fight along side us. That way they'll be safe and out of harms way. "
"I see.", John said. "Well, Will, I'll see what I can do.", he said with a smile that Will returned.
'Wow! Angelo and Irma weren't kidding about how the girls felt about their boyfriends training.', John thought to himself as Will walked off. 'To bad those boys have other plans.', he thought hiding his smirk.
"Okay, fellas. You know how this all works.", Joe said to the guys. "Once this door closes behind us, there's no going back. It's be six months of training to get stronger for the upcoming battles. If you want to turn back, now is the time."
Once he said this, Taranee, Hay Lin, and Elyon were hoping that their boyfriends would change their minds about going into the ATZ, but they didn't move. Now as impressed as the three girls were about this, they still wished their boyfriends would of changed their minds.
"Very well.", John said proud of the guys as he opened the dorr to the ATZ. "Let's go boys.", he said as the boys who entered into the ATZ.
"Later, Babe.", Matt said as he kissed Will goodbye.
"See you in six months.", Caleb said to Cornelia after they kissed.
"See you later, alligator.", Angelo said to his wife.
"After a while, crocodile.", Irma said to her husband before they shared a loving kiss.
"See ya, sis.", Peter said getting a wave from his sister.
Once the guys entered the ATZ, the door closed behind them to which Taranee, Elyon, and Hay Lin let out an annoyed sigh wishing their boyfriends didn't go into the ATZ.
"I still don't see why Eric had to go in there.", an upset Hay Lin said.
"It's a guy thing.", Cornelia said as Will opened a fold to Shell Beach. "They want to be as cool as the other guys, when they don't have to be."
"That's what I told Joel.", Elyon said. "But he said that it was something he had to do."
"Same with Nigel., Taranee said. "I want him to be safe away from the fighting, but he wants to go charging in. He doesn't know how dangerous it is!"
"Don't sweat it, girls.", Will said. "I talked with Uncle John, and he won't be training the guys hard.", she said to which Elyon, Taranee, and Hay Lin breathed a sigh of relief.
"That's good to here.", Elyon said. "I want Joel to be safe from the fighting."
"Yeah.", Hay Lin said. "The last ting we need is for him along with Nigel and Eric to go and become Regents or something."
"Amen to that.", Taranee said.
"But what if Matt needs or want to have a team of Regents?", Irma asked.
"He has Huggles and Napoleon.", Cornelia said. "That enough for him."
Saying nothing, Irma smiled knowing what was going to happen when the guys were done in the ATZ. As for the guys, once in the ATZ, they put their stuff away and were ready to train.
"Shall we begin, fella?", John asked knowing that the guys were ready to go.
"Let's do this!", Joel said. "We need to show the girls that we're not some weak litle boys that want to sit on the side lines!"
"Now you're talking!", Matt said as he sat his gym bag down and unzipped it only for Napoleon to jump out of it.
"Okay, fellas! Let's see what you can do!", Napoleon said as he did some stretches before transforming into his were-cat form. "It's been a while since I've done some training!"
"Oh! This is going to be fun!", Peter said ready to do a bit of sparring.
And so began the special training of Joel, Eric, and Nigel as they knew they had six months to get stronger to become Regents of Earth. No matter how mad their girlfriends got.
And let's be honest, folks!
They're going to be mad!
