Chapter Five: Mysterious Allies
"You wanted to talk to me coach Hatchet?" Danny asked as he sin front of the school's sport coach.
Coach Hatchet was a tall man that many students in the school said was intimidating. He was halfway to seven feet and was built like a linebacker.
"I hear you are planning on quitting football and joining another club." Coach Hatchet said with a glare.
"That is not true. I am just joining another club on the side to help for college." Danny lied giving the same excuse that he had given Judy.
"You think you can juggle a club, football, and school maggot?" Coach Hatchet asked glaring.
"You don't have to worry football will get the majority of my focus." Danny said.
"I demand one hundred percent focus and loyalty." Coach Hatchet asked. "How do you think your team is going to feel when you start missing practices?"
"I can manage to do both activities coach." Danny said.
"If you start missing practices you can forget about playing in the games." Coach Hatchet said. "I won't take it easy on you just because your dad is the mayor."
"I understand." Danny said.
"You better." Coach Hatchet said. "Dismissed."
Danny stood up and walked out of the office.

"So, Coach Hatchet is not happy about me joining Brad's club." Danny said placing his lunch tray down on the table.
"Do you think he is going to get over it?" Paulina asked.
"Oh yeah. I would not be surprised if he pushes me harder than the others just to see if I can back up my words." Danny said.
"Just another sign that hanging with Judy is going to bring problems." Paulina said before taking a bite of a French fry.
"I have been working on something that I think will improve your spirits." Sam said.
"Really?" Danny asked.
"Yes. Here." Sam said passing two black bracelets to each of them.
"You made friendship bracelets?" Paulina asked holding up Sam's gift. "I appreciate the sentiment, but I think it would look better in pink."
"I like the color." Danny said as he held it up and looked at the charms hanging down from it.
"It's not exactly what it looks like." Sam said. "I made them to help us with our mission." She finished in a whisper.
"What do they do?" Danny asked.
"Wear them before you go to sleep, and we can visit each other in our dreams." Sam said.
"Really?" Paulina asked.
"I know we are close, but I am not sure that I like the idea of people being in my head." Danny said.
"Don't worry. It will give us all complete control. If there is something you want to remain hidden it will be." Sam said. "Anyway, this way we can focus on our activities and still have time to come up with a plan to stop Otto."
"Sam, that is brilliant." Danny said putting his hand on top of hers.
Sam gained a blush on her face and looked away.
"Danny!" rang out through the cafeteria.
"Looks like Lightning has heard the news." Paulina said looking at the entrance.
"This is going to be a long lunch." Danny said with a sigh.

Whoever invented the sport of cheerleading was amazing and Danny seriously wanted to shake their hands. Danny was supposed to be in class, but he figured that watching Paulina and the other cheerleaders was better than listening to Otto and so he sent a duplicate in his place. Math class was not going anywhere and so he sent a duplicate to take his notes.
The Cheerleaders had gotten used to him being there to support Paulina. She had been a member seen freshman year. It was a tradition at this school that the cheerleaders were accepted from Ninth grade and kept on for the following years until graduation. If you did not make it in ninth grade than your chance was gone.
It was a very competitive group.
Kimmy Mysner, Amber King, and Monica Danvers were graduating at the end of this year which meant they needed everything to be as close to perfect as possible.
The younger cheerleaders were already trying to figure out a new hierarchy. The talk of the school was that they were going to fight it out mixed martial arts style and the last cheerleader standing got to be captain. He knew that Paulina had her eyes on the spot and knew that if those rumors were true, he would bet on her being the last one standing.
Watching the cheerleaders flip around and lift each other into a pyramid Danny had to give them an applause. Looking at the lot of them he wondered how much upper body strength they had to be able to hold each other up on their hands.
"That was pathetic. You think we will regionals like this? do it again!" Kimmy shouted at the lot of them.
In his opinion Kimmy would have made a great drill Seargent for any military school. There were eye rolls and sighs of annoyance but only when Kimmy was not paying attention to them.
The girls flipped back in formation to start over.
"I thought it was great." Star Amber's younger sister said in a whisper from the bench.
She probably thought that no had heard her, but she shrunk back in fear when Kimmy turned to face her.
He could not see what her face looked like, but he knew that he would not want to be near when Kimmy went off on the girl. He got Paulina's attention to wave goodbye before he left the gymnasium.

"Now what am I going to do?" Danny asked himself.
Sam was busy with her drama class, and he did not want to go and make her skip it. So, he would have to find something to entertain himself with until later.
Danny heard whistling that he knew belonged to only one German speaking teacher and hid behind the wall. "What are you up to now?"
Otto Scaarbach was feeling so happy about something he had to whistle. That could only mean horrible things awaited on the horizon. The trench-coat and hat he was wearing only helped fuel his suspicions. Unless you were a private detective you never walked anywhere dressed like that with good intentions.
Wear that outside and you would feel like a turkey being cooked on thanksgiving.
'Looks like the universe has answered my question.' Danny thought with a smile.
He turned invisible and started floating behind Otto as he exited the school and walked to his car.
Otto drove past the city limits and into an abandoned field except right now it seemed that construction was going around.
Looking around he could see that this was the location where Circus Gothica was being set up. There were tents and booths being set up with prizes, but the most obvious clue was the huge sign with Circus Gothica hanging above the field.
Looks like this place may be involved with something shady after all if Otto was coming here.
Sam was going to be so disappointed.
Otto walked past the booths and the people setting up and walked straight to a carriage in the back. It looked like the front of the train and had black wings on the side that looked as if they could take off in flight. The whole place was giving him a feeling as if he had seen it all before, but he was still not sure where.
Now this feeling was getting annoying and made him want to just smash everything around him.
Otto knocked on the trailer and waited for a response.
"Who is it?" A voice called out from the other side.
"It is Otto old friend." The evil German teacher responded and a few seconds later the door opened.
Two people came out from the door. One was a pale man that clearly needed more sun and to drink more orange juice. He was wearing a red and black suit. Atop his head was a black top hat with a red stripe. In his hand was a cane with a red orb atop it that glowed ominously which gave him a bad feeling.
Alongside him there was a figure in cloak preventing him from seeing who it was.
It did not matter because the moment that he saw the figure he felt his ghost sense go off.
"It has been a long time." The ringmaster said as he came to shake Otto's hand with a smile.
That is all the proof he needed to know that this man is evil. He had shaken Otto's hand when he first met the man in freshman year, and he still remembered the feeling of its cold and inhuman touch.
The man may give everyone a nice smile, but he knew that underneath all was a cool indifference.
"It has been about four years since we last saw each other." Otto said.
"I want to thank you again for all your help in Europe. I have made much progress since then." The ringmaster said.
Otto took a glance around before looking at the cloaked figure next to them.
"I can certainly see that. How are you doing my dear?" Otto asked as he kissed the hand of the cloaked figure.
The cloaked figure did not say anything about that but nodded in a gesture that Danny took for an okay.
"Will you be coming to our show?" The ringmaster asked Otto, but the cloaked figure started looking around as if looking for something.
"I will try but I might be very busy tonight." Otto said ominously.
"All I can ask is that you show up. I have some new members that I cannot wait to show off and it is all thanks to your advice." The ringmaster said.
The cloaked figure turned to him, and her eyes glowed an ominous red that he could see even out of the hood.
It looked like she was staring right at him.
"Lydia what is the matter?" The ringmaster asked.
"Spy." Lydia growled lifting her cloak revealing herself as a green skinned ghost with tattoos covering her body and spiky black hair. She wore an entirely black outfit. Her Corset, panties, boots, and spiked bracelets on her wrist all of it was black and meant to draw as much attention as her green skin.
Danny had to admit that the look worked for her.
Then Danny realized what she said. She could tell where he was and so he took off before she decided to take action. He did not know what powers she had and that put him at a disadvantage against her and whatever other ghosts the ringmaster could have working for him in this circus.
He needed more information.
'Seems that I know the first thing I am going to do once Vlad leaves town.' Danny thought to himself.

(Dream World)
Danny opened his eyes and took a look around to see where he was.
He is standing in a courtyard surrounded by two small gardens each full of roses. Instead of the red that most thought of them with these roses were different. The roses to the left of him were a deep purple that were the same color as Sam's eyes and the blue a few shades brighter than Paulina's.
'That certainly fits Sam's taste.' Danny thought as he walked towards the door of the castle.
The bricks that formed the castle were a deep black that was the same shade as one of Sam's favorite tops.
As he walked inside and saw the vastness of the castle There would need to be a team of cartographers to make an accurate map of this place if it actually existed.
"Hello Master Daniel." Dream Sebas Tian said.
"I would like you to lead me to Paulina and Sam." Danny said with a smile.
"This way." Dream Sebas Tian said leading the way to a huge purple door. "They are waiting for you master Daniel."
"Very well. You do not need to open it." Danny said choosing to walk through the door.
"Hey Danny." Paulina waved.
He smiled at her as he took a seat.
"Impressive." Danny said.
"I know. I wish my house actually looked like this." Sam said.
"Where did you learn to make this?" Danny asked.
"I was worried that if Mr. Scaarbach learned that we are on to him he might start spying on us." Sam said. "So, I looked through my books on how we could have private conversations without people learning what we are talking about."
"So how does it work exactly?" Paulina asked.
"When you go to sleep just choose whose dreams you want to enter." Sam said.
'Can we use it to control our own dreams?" Paulina asked.
"Sure." Sam answered.
"Alright. Let's have some fun." Danny said.
He would tell Sam what he suspected about Circus Gothica later. First, he wanted to see how this thing worked.
