Feet raced across the ground, leaving faint footprints in the dirt as you ducked beneath a window to avoid detection and continued running along the ground.
A falcon stayed within your vision, moonlight glinting off of the glass of a camera lens as the camera looked out ahead of them, moving in slow circles as the one watching the camera kept an eye out for any unseen issues relating to the plan.
You had faith in Asuna, Kirito, and Kuroshiro, it wouldn't fail.
You could hear Caylee speaking, hear the ex GM's casual conversation with one of the many leaders that they were targeting. After all…
Tonight would be the night they were freed. Freed from being someone else's pawns.
"Rika, are you ready?"
Your sister's voice rippled through the comns system tucked in their ears, checking on their tank and who would be both the distraction and the entry point for the other players.
"Ready to have a headache for the next three weeks? Yes," Rika joked but sobered up without another word. "Yes, I'm in position at the front wall."
"Kirito and I are in the inner sanctum, Argo, we need you here in about five seconds."
"Give me three," You responded quietly before you slid low and through a guard's feet as they opened the door to one of the most heavily guarded area in the compound. Completely unaware of your small form, cloaked and invisible, sliding through it and entering the one place that only one player had ever entered prior to yourself.
The home of the boss. The one in charge and who had blocked so many memories from so many people.
Who had forced so many lives into being an army.
An army that was about to overthrow its master.
Argo's green eyes flickered around the room as her feet carried her partway up a wall and she caught the exposed rafters nestled inside the roof of the hallway with floor sensors that even her invisibility device wouldn't be able to fool.
Her cloak swished softly without a sound as she moved down the hallway, one hand after another, hands protected from the hot metal via the thick gloves that had been made specifically for this purpose.
So much time and practice had gone into tonight, there was no way she was going to fail.
"Kuroshiro, you in the lab?"
"Mhmm, Argo's not the only one with tricks up their sleeve, Asuna~"
"If Argo could speak right now she'd be fileting your ass, Kuroshiro," Rika snorted, "since she taught you how to get in there."
"Semantics, semantics," Kuroshiro waved the brunette's comment off before Asuna was speaking up again.
"Shino?"
"Can we just get this over with so I can get out of this tree?" Shino grumbled, "there's a reason this tree, a pine tree, doesn't have sensors on it."
The door was in sight now, and Argo lifted her body, tucking in her legs and holding onto the pipes with them and the thick padding around her knees and ankles to protect her from the temperature.
Holding her lockpicks in between her teeth, the small blonde hung her upper body from the pipe and inserted the devices into the lock.
"Argo's at the door," Silica piped up, "start the countdown Asuna."
"3."
The lock clicked and Argo started turning the knob, her gloves preventing the heat sensor from tripping.
"2."
The door was creaking open.
"1."
Argo was reaching for the floor, the blade at one wrist extending out while her other prepared to catch the rest of her body when she dropped down.
"NOW!"
