Wickedly Clever
Part Eighteen – "The foe is merciless, and will not pity." – Lord Clifford
Regina threw another fireball at Peter.
He blocked it easily, like the first one.
She started throwing fireballs at him in rapid-fire succession.
He moved his sword quickly, blocking them all.
One. By. One.
She gritted her teeth while he laughed evilly.
"Is that the best you've got, your majesty?" Peter taunted.
Regina smirked, "Not by a long shot, you little prick."
Conjuring a sword, she lunged at him.
He parried her attack smoothly.
Their swords clanged loudly as they dueled.
Suddenly, without warning, he disarmed her.
He wasn't forgiving. He was merciless.
Besides, the fun was just beginning.
A/N – 2/8/14: First, I hoped you all liked this chapter. How am I doing with Peter and Regina? Do I have them down? Are they in-character? Please let me know.
Second, I'm not trying to make Regina seem weak by always losing to Peter. In fact, I'm a huge Regina/Evil Regal fan. She's truly a BAMF. Yet at the same time she is also feminine, vulnerable, and compassionate. She is a very complex fictional woman and character, and her personality has many layers.
However, this is Neverland, where imagination runs wild and where the past comes back to haunt you, and/or bite you in the ass. I paraphrased the sentence, but this is what A&E basically told us at the start of Season Three.
A&E didn't explore Regina's past and what it can do to her while she was in Neverland. Yes, she and Snow had a cat-fight on Hook's ship and so did Hook and Charming; but still… they didn't explore what Neverland can do to Regina. They only did that with Emma. Thus, I'm going to explore that with Regina throughout the next few drabbles and throughout this series.
Third, in reality, Peter and Regina's fight/duel is a lot longer than this. But I'm not going to spend three drabbles explaining their fight sequences. Besides, like Peter stated in chapter seventeen, Neverland is his domain. So, he wins because she is on his turf. If he was on her turf, like the Enchanted Forest, Peter would lose and Regina would win. ;)
Fourth, the title of this drabble stems from Henry VI, Part III by William Shakespeare. In a short speech when he was alone, this sentence was uttered by Lord Clifford in Act I, Scene VI. (Lord Clifford was a military commander and one of the major characters in the play.)
Thanks to calistavadia for reviewing! I appreciate you all for taking the time to read my fic. Hope you all enjoyed this drabble. Please stay tuned for more. Love you all. Until next time! :)
