The Emperor's Daughter Chapter 2

So far the invasion currently underway on Earth appears to be proceeding well according to plan. The armada is doing its work well. The first wave of XBorg's dispatched in the attack swept through the lands with little resistance and those they are met with were quickly dealt with.

At present once the XBorgs have been used to display the Empire's strength and dead seriousness about adding the planet to the conquest of the kingdoms they are withdrawn to give the population a chance to surrender. Not really Emperor Mavro's style, but there are still traditional rules of warfare to follow on each venture.

"Argus! Levira! Veronica! Our invasion went well," stated Prince Vekar quite smugly confident. "The humans barely put up a fight."

Concurring with Prince Vekar's observations, bowing to him in a combination of respect and agreement, Argus, Prince Vekar's closest confidant and friend, said "Yes, Your Majesty. Give the word and I'll send in the second wave of XBorg's to finish them."

"The special weapons I've developed will assure our victory," added Levira, assuredly. She then approaches Princess Veronica, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I wish I had a device that could locate your lost brother Vrak."

Grateful towards Levira's sympathy and recognition that she is upset about Vrak's disappearance along with his lack of communication, Princess Veronica said "Thank you, Levira. Although your efforts in attempting to find him for us have not gone unnoticed and are appreciated."

Waving this off dismissively and ignorantly, Prince Vekar said "Yes, yes, thank you. But we must assume Vrak fell in battle."

An outcome that Princess Veronica will continue to deny until there is actual proof. And something Princess Veronica has constantly told her brother in private to not publicly acknowledge without reliable evidence to determine the contrary. She's perfectly aware of how content he'd be if it's the truth. The resentment he has aimed at Vrak is no secret.

Circling around them to sit in the command chair, Prince Vekar declared "We will avenge my brother's destruction and claim Earth as our own."

"I have no doubt of this, Dear Brother, but we, also, just remember to be cautious and not to underestimate our enemy. Do not forget that throughout history many others have sought to take control over this planet and have been destroyed in numerous defeats. We must remember this. In order to avoid that it is imperative we be prepared for any unexpected surprises that come our way with this backwater world," warns Princess Veronica, recalling vast history chronicles on the subject.

It's no joke. There have been many forces of darkness that have tried to achieve victory and have been faced with eternal annihilation. She is right to be cautious on the matter.

Arrogantly ignoring his sisters' concerns, Prince Vekar said "Those failures from the past are nothing compared to our might. A brand new prize will soon be handed to our father. This I guarantee."

Princess Veronica hopes for his sake that he's right. Otherwise she doesn't want to be Vekar when their father aims his wrath on him.

So I've got some bad news for all my loyal readers. My dog just passed away a couple of months ago. To be perfectly honest I'm heartbroken. He meant so much to me and even though my family has had other dogs in the past, since I moved out, he was my baby and the first animal to ever well and truly be mine. Especially during all of this craziness with covid-19 I think all dog owners can agree that your canine companions can really fill that void that one can find themselves stuck in. And make their households complete. So this is a shout out to all fellow dog lovers out there that see them as their children. Keep your animals close to you and cherish them always…That goes for cats, too. ;)

I cannot begin to describe how apologetic I am for taking so heinously long to get back on track. From this day forward that's all gonna change. Especially since now that I have some more story ideas in mind to add to my profile.
