Chapter 35. The hunch of couple changing
"No! I'm not going back!" Dick resisted.
"You have to. Under grade four can't go to the ball. It's frivolous to stay." Said Della.
"If you and Hans can, I can, too." Dick snaped.
"Don't you miss dad, mom and Hannah?" Della asked deliberately, "I'm not going home this Christmas, you can own three cakes, as well as chocolate, candy, pudding and ice cream made by mom."
Dick swallowed, and felt excited, but he finally resisted to stay for Christmas.
Della had to let him go. "Well, you can write back and tell mom you won't go home. Don't make me laugh at you for your second year but still misspelling, Baldy."
Dick wanted to spit at her, but last time he did so and was stuck out his tongue by Della, then was given a nickname of "Green-Toad". Thanks for that, boys in the same grade all called him that, even the seniors began to do so.
He completely gave up the habit of sticking out his tongue.
Della went back to the common room and saw Hermione immerse in the books, Harry was playing wizard chess with Ron. Girls around were exchanging the information about the coming ball, boys got together to comment on the girls, and some even held each other to practice the waltz.
Fred and George disappeared again.
"I really want to know where they are doing the experiment." Della muttered.
Hermione rarely looked up from the book and hesitated, "maybe I can help you."
She went to Harry, then he took out a roll of parchment from his bag and gave it to her.
Hermione pulled her into the corner of the room, with a peculiar brass sculpture in front of them.
Hermione unfolded the parchment on her lap, with no words on it.
She held up her wand, pointed to it, and spoke in a very low voice, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."
The head of the wand gently touched the parchment, with the ink, like living, emerged from it and gradually extended to the whole parchment.
Della took a closer look, the above was like a maze of drawings, marking the name of every corner of the castle, with some small names like ants slowly moving.
Della exclaimed, covering her mouth.
She remembered! This is an efficient instrument of Harry.
"What's the name of this map?" she acted like didn't know. "The Marauder's Map."
Della: "Oh…"
She was misremembered.
Hermione: "It shows people in the whole castle, now let's see where's Fred."
They both leaned over to the map and search for each name carefully.
Della saw Professor McGonagall, she was in the Transfiguration classroom, where there were two students, both Slytherin's, who seemed to be punished after-class labor.
There were two people in Headmaster Dumbledore's office. One was Dumbledore and the other was Alastor Moody, the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Della had never seen anything so magical. Although everything in her life was full of magic, it's not as amazing as the map.
Fred now had gone nowhere in her brain, she was wondering who was appeared on the map.
She saw her name, Della Bush and Hermione Granger were close together.
Dick Bush's name was with the names of three other boys, they must be playing something.
Hans Bush's name was with a girl named Peggy!
She must be his girlfriend!
She also saw the French witch, Fleur Delacour, whose name was with Cedric.
She showed it to Hermione immediately.
Hermione wrinkled her nose, "I heard she was pursuing Cedric. Good taste, Cedric is the most handsome boy in Hogwarts, besides, he's a champion now."
"Cedric has Cho." Della surprised.
Hermione: "She doesn't care much about that, does she?"
Both girls scoffed at this and kept on looking for someone.
Della couldn't help setting her sight at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. As expected, in the middle of the it, she saw a group of girls' names crowded on the edge of the lake.
"They are not afraid of cold — it's still snowing outside." Della said.
Hermione glanced at the position and said, "you used to be in it — are you really looking for Fred?" Della admitted, "this map is so amazing!"
Hermione laughed and began to explore the map with her.
As for boyfriend?
Oh, talk about it later!
There were passages on the map, but Della remembered there were walls when she passed by.
"This is the Secret Passageways," Hermione said, "it's said there are many."
Della sighed, "an old castle… It may be the oldest one in the whole England."
There's anything on this map.
Della saw Ludo Bagman, the sports minister who had cheated Fred of his money.
Fred said they had given up asking him for debt. "I might as well have made more plates of Canary Creams." He said.
She told Hermione the secret, she thought she wouldn't believe it, but she wrinkled her nose with the words "these politicians". She saw her eyes, shook her head and said, "it's nothing. I've read much in the newspapers that ministers were always caught up in all kinds of scandals. Only gambling and calling prostitutes can destroy 80 percents of the ministers in the British Parliament."
At the same time, Hermione felt strange, "but why is Ludo Bagman still in school? Didn't he go back already?"
Della: "I thought he was there all the time during the competition."
Hermione shook her head. "No, I remember very well. He went back at the end of the game. He won't come until the second task."
The two looked at each other.
Hermione finally said, "or he may come to see the headmaster?"
"…Probably." Della held the map and asked, "can I borrow it?" Hermione nodded: "Of course. Don't tell anyone else."
She got up and went on to her books.
Della thought for a while, then she thrust the map into her arms and crawled out of the hole in the common room.
She remembered there seemed to be an official of the Ministry of Magic who had done a lot of bad things. He was vicious, terrible, who also kicked Fred and George out of school.
…However, she remembered the person was a female.
When Ludo Bagman showed up, she suspected she may be wrong again.
Maybe it was this man who drove Fred and George because he owed them money.
She of course couldn't let it happen!
Besides, he was a spy!
Just now she and Hermione found out that this man was again at Hogwarts for some reason.
All in all, she wanted to take the map to headmaster Dumbledore, maybe there could be something she can help.
In the office of headmaster, Dumbledore said to Moody, "no, Karkaroff is a coward. He almost immediately left the Death Eaters those years. Without more assurance, he wouldn't have dared to do harm to Harry."
Moody: "Then, that's Snape. I can't believe him."
Dumbledore shook his head: "No. It takes time."
Suddenly the door was knocked.
They exchanged eyes and calmed down.
Dumbledore gave the portrait an inquiring glance, the portrait by the door answered: "It's a student, Della Bush of Gryffindor."
Moody was weary: "I hope she's not coming for her break-up with his boyfriend."
Dumbledore shook his head and asked him to go into the cubicle.
The door opened, came in Della.
Headmaster Dumbledore stood behind the table, nodded to her and asked her to sit down.
"Della, why don't you share the fire in the common room at this time? Is there any difficulty?" Asked Dumbledore.
Della had come in for the third time, but she was not much calm than the previous two.
She nervously took the parchment out of her arms and laid it out in front of headmaster.
Dumbledore looked closer, surprisedly, "oh, it's… amazing."
He couldn't help taking it up to have a look, "fantastic, very magical."
He put it back and asked her with a smile, "you must have found something to come to me, do you?"
Della wanted to hide Fred and George's involvement in gambling, but if she didn't say it, she couldn't question Ludo Bagman's personality.
She had to point to the location where Bagman had just been found. Of course, he's not here now.
"Professor, this map shows all the people in this school. I saw Mr. Ludo Bagman here just now." she said, "but I heard from Hermione that he should have been back long ago."
"Ludo Bagman." Dumbledore straightened up, wiped his crystal lens, looked back at the position, and then searched around it.
"My friends, have been cheated, he's a very disgusting man!" Once came to the matter that he cheated the money from Fred and George, it made her indignant. How could there be such a shameless person? For cheating money from children?
"Yes. Ludo Bagman, is credulous…" Dumbledore murmured.
He got up, took the map in his hand and said to Della, "I'm afraid I have to borrow it for a while, Miss Bush."
Della quickly stood up, "oh, it's not mine…"
"I know. I'll give it back to Harry when I'm done." Dumbledore nodded at her and sent her to the door. "You are a very keen girl. Did you notice anything? Danger? Make you scared and strained?"
Dumbledore's eyes were penetrating.
Della was nervous, her deepest fear was uncovered.
She held her hand tightly and couldn't speak. For a long time, she nodded slowly.
…She wasn't sure if she could save Fred in the end.
Dumbledore said with a smile, "don't worry, lovely girl. You choose your ally, and he will help you."
Della: "Ally?"
Dumbledore patted her on the shoulder, "yes." He seemed to have a joke to her, "you chose me, didn't you? I will be your most powerful ally."
