There he is again, Sasuke Uchiha. How fall he really has fallen. He's looking in that damn mirror again. Why won't he ever look at me? See me for who I am? His hand touches the reflective glass as his fingernails just barely scratch the surface. He's always staring at his reflection.

But his reflection isn't what Sasuke sees.

Sasuke sees someone else when he looks at the mirror. He sees a sibling. A killer and a genius. An experienced and wanted ninja that murdered the whole Uchiha clan all on his own. All except Sasuke. The person that slaughtered his parents. Itachi.

Sometimes he sees another person. He sees another hunted ninja. A power hungry assassin. The one that gave him a bite mark to prove he could control him. His kidnapper and the person he still belonged to in mind. Orichimaru.

Maybe the reason he looked in the mirror all the time was because he wanted to see them. It reminded him that he was truly an avenger. But then again, it also told him that he was slowly falling to pieces. The hand slipped on the material and fell back to Sasuke's side.

But still the raven-haired boy stared. His narrow black eyes showed nothing now but blank depths of darkness. Why didn't Sasuke look at me like he sometimes looked at the mirror? Sometimes he looked at it with fear or resentment. But other times, he looked at it with the utmost respect or even affection. Why didn't Sasuke care about me? Why didn't he just glance at me and see what I could offer him? Give him what he really needs.

When I look in the mirror, I don't see my real self either. I see the Nine Tailed Fox in all its destructive glory. Fiery red eyes that gleam with hatred and sharp slashing claws. That's why I don't bother with stupid mirrors. But does Sasuke know or ever care? I don't think so.

"Sasuke-kun?"

No answer. Just staring. Then…

"Naruto? What do you see when you look in the mirror?" He looked at me through his reflection in the mirror. It made me feel a bit nervous, like he could see everything I was doing.

I hesitated. "I see myself, idiot. What else would I see?"

A nod. Then back to staring. 'No, he doesn't care.' I thought as I walked out of the room to find Sakura.
